"I will love them enough that it changes the narrative" but it's Nicky's love for the twins finally giving them a stable home where they could heal, Jean's love for Kevin giving him the chance to escape Evermore, the twins' love for each other saving them from their abusers, the foxes' love for Neil making him into a real person, Andrew's love for Neil giving him something to build a life around outside his promises, Renee's love for Jean saving his life, Jean's love for Elodie convincing him that he doesn't deserve everything that happened to him—

Dark Dick Grayson blurb inspired by an idea from @psychemochanight
--------------------------------------------------------------
Richard Grayson was a man of contradictions. To the world, he was Gotham’s darling, the golden son of Bruce Wayne, the one who had it all—looks, charm, talent, an effortless grace that made people gravitate toward him. He had never once been painted in a bad light, not by the media, not by the elite who whispered behind closed doors, not by the criminals who feared the name Wayne.
And that was exactly how he wanted it.
Richard played his role to perfection. He was the older brother who fussed over his siblings when they came home bruised, who smoothed his hair and adjusted his makeup every twenty minutes to ensure he looked impeccable, who spoke to cameras with the kind of warmth that made people believe he belonged in the spotlight. He was adored, untouchable.
No one ever looked too closely at him because no one ever needed to. He was already what they expected him to be.
But that was the trick, wasn’t it? The perfect lie. Because while the world saw an angel, Gotham’s underworld whispered about something else entirely—something they didn’t dare say out loud.
Nightwing.
No one had ever seen him for more than a few seconds. A ghost in the dark. A shadow in Gotham’s most hidden corners. Some didn’t even believe he was real. But those who had seen him, those who had felt his presence, knew better.
Because Richard Grayson was not just another vigilante. He was not like the other heroes who played by rules, who followed a code, who believed in mercy. Mercy was a luxury he had never been granted.
He had been a child when he first learned that truth, taken from his family and thrown into the grasp of something far worse than Gotham’s crime families. The Court of Owls had shaped him, not as a boy, but as a weapon. They had seen something in him that even Bruce had missed—a hunger, an emptiness, a mind that could be honed into something truly deadly. They had made him their Gray Son, their most prized creation.
But Richard had never been the obedient kind.
He had played their game. He had learned every lesson, mastered every technique, endured every trial they set before him. He had been their prodigy, their perfect assassin. And then, when they thought he was ready to serve, he had turned against them. He had torn them apart from the inside, burned their plans to the ground, made sure they would never touch him again.
The Court had underestimated him. Everyone always underestimated him.
Then there was Slade.
Deathstroke had been different. He had never tried to control Richard, never attempted to break him like the Court had. Slade had simply seen him for what he was and taught him how to be better. More precise. More lethal. More than just a weapon—an apex predator.
Slade had known that Richard wasn’t like Bruce. That he would never be satisfied with the illusion of justice. That he had the capacity for something darker, something Gotham had never faced before. He had taught Richard how to refine the violence inside him, how to wield it like a scalpel instead of a sledgehammer.
And Richard had learned.
When he returned to Gotham, when he slipped back into the role of Bruce Wayne’s perfect son, no one questioned it. He was still the same Richard Grayson, wasn’t he? The bright smile, the effortless charm, the one who lit up every room.
His friends and family never looked past the surface.
They never noticed how cold his hands were when no one was watching. How his smile never quite reached his eyes when he thought they weren’t paying attention. How he never seemed shaken by anything anymore.
Even Bruce, for all his paranoia, never quite asked what had happened in those years Richard had been gone.
None of them did.
And that was fine. It worked in Richard’s favor.
They didn’t need to know what lurked beneath the surface. They didn’t need to know about the times he let the hunger take over, when he found those who deserved to die and made sure they never saw the morning light.
They didn’t need to know about the blood on his hands.
They would never understand, anyway.

What if one of Jason's Red Hood revenge plans go off the rails, in Owl Song?
Off the rails as in, Dick gets caught in something that can kill even a talon - say, a big enough explosion... Jason left convinced Dick is dead and he is responsible for it...
If Jason is absolutely sure Dick is dead/beyond any chance of being revived either with electrum or other supernatural means…. He’d completely shut down, turn himself into authorities, and plead for the death penalty.

Court of Darkness Characters on Thanksgiving in the Isle of Colde:
Guy: Probably sitting down on a settee and reading, sometimes looking up from his book to make various annoyed noises and snarky commentary. Honestly it’s not that much different than he normally would do
Toa: In the kitchen and trying to help to the best of his ability. We all know his culinary skills are not the best and he really doesn’t even know his way around a kitchen since he doesn’t make his own meals, but he’s trying very calmly to follow Knight’s patient instructions on how to prepare sweet potatoes.
Roy: Probably all over the place. One minute he’s serving tea to the people who are busy helping as a thank-you, the next minute he’s setting the table with Invidian silverware, then the next time you see him he’s probably going back and forth delivering ingredients and trying to help anywhere he possibly can.
Lynt: Sleeping on the couch despite all the noises coming from the kitchen. No questions asked.
Rio: Probably the head chef along with Knight, Jasper, Tino, and Thoma. He’s whipping up pies and cakes with absolute ease and they both look and smell amazing. He’s insanely good at cooking and baking, so he’s probably the one who’s tackling all the difficult dishes.
Lance: Nowhere to be seen. Thanksgiving isn’t his deal and he dislikes all present company. He’s like that one cousin that spends the entire holiday locked in their room listening to music and refusing to spend time with absolutely anyone.
Fenn: Making mischief as often as he possibly can. He’s stealing ingredients, poking people in the ribs when they’re cooking, hugging people from behind by surprise, and generally being a walking disaster wherever he goes.
Jasper: Definitely one of the main chefs. He specializes in glazed meats and savory dishes since it’s what he normally would prepare for Guy’s meals, so he’s probably the one handling the turkey and glazed ham.
Knight: He makes sweets for Toa all the time, so he is probably the one making most of the pies and treats alongside Rio. His pumpkin brownies are one of his most favored dishes!
Grayson: He doesn’t do well in over-crowded or loud areas, so he stays in the lounge with Guy and Lynt and serves them what they need. Occasionally, he will assist Roy with setting the table or making tea for everyone to enjoy while they’re cooking.
Tino: Since he makes succulent and beautiful breads, he’s likely put in charge of the dinner rolls. He and Thoma glaze them fresh out of the ovens with a honey and butter mixture, and everyone’s salivating over the smell. Even Lynt wakes up when he smells the aromatic scent of Voleri Gold.
Thoma: He’s assisting the other valets with what they’re working on, but mainly stays beside Rio and works with him on the sweet dishes. The two of them often make food together, and he helps keep the mood light while joking around with Rio.
Violet: Spends the entire day chasing Fenn around and trying desperately to keep him out of the kitchen. He’s like a toddler, grinning and running around to try and destroy whatever he can manage. When she finds him causing utter chaos in the kitchens, she chases him out with a wooden spoon in hand, a wine glass in the other.
Sherry: She’s very much enjoying herself in her own corner of the kitchens and trying to make cookies unsupervised. We all know what happens when she gets a hold of the ovens, and ends up almost setting the entire kitchen on fire because she’s trying to help with the cooking. Poor Roy spends half his time gently trying to redirect her and swooping in to save the situation when smoke starts pouring out of her ovens.

A super educational ranking of the consorts book 1 mischief endings + consort perspectives: ranked entirely on if they get to hanky panky or not:
Spoilers for the endings, but no plot discussion
to make this scientific i added lil emoji’s for easier understanding what the endings feature
❤️= kissing, ✋🏻=suggestive touching/kissing👆🏻= ye ole fingering/fondling ✔️= they bang
12. Knight: 2/10 ❤️ they only kiss twice before mc says they shouldnt continue AND in Knight’s perspective Toa cockblocks telling him to get back to work
11. Lynt 2.5/10 ❤️ very tame ending I’d say tied with Knight, they kiss once and mc touches Lynt’s bare chest, but then they just cuddle in his perspective
10. Roy: 3/10 ❤️✋🏻 we get all way to second base wohooo kissing and touching and it’s implied they go all the way…but in his perspective Grayson pretty much immediately cockblocks BOOOOO
9. Rio: 3.75/10 ❤️✋🏻 In the ending itself they start making out in his room its gets heated fast so .75 for the horniness of it but the headmaster cockblocks (common theme). His perspective is very tame, they’re in public so its just lots of introspection about how he’s horny lmao.
8. Toa: 5/10 ❤️ ✋🏻 making out and implied going all the way, in his perspective he begins to undress mc then Knight+headmaster cockblock
7. Guy: 7/10 ❤️✋🏻 making out and the very beginnings of getting undressed with implied going all the way, in his perspective Guy’s all “my mouth and hands are yours” and then the headmaster cockblocks
6. Lance: 9/10 ❤️✋🏻👆🏻 probably the raunchiest of the endings, they’re fully getting hot and heavy kissing and giving hickey’s, then in his perspective things get hotter and he starts fingering mc but then they get cockblocked by Hawke ugh
5. Lou: 9/10 ❤️✔️ he entices mc by walking around his quarters wet and half naked lol, they kiss and go all the way, but it’s not descriptive. In his perspective it’s the same story in the ending, slightly more descriptive but not very.
4. Dia: 9.25/10 ❤️✋🏻✔️ they go all the way mhm but it’s only like.. a sentence, most of the ending is kissing/undressing/suggestive touching. Not quite on the level as Lance’s ending, but at least they get to fuck ya know. His perspective is the next morning with much of the same, and implied a sexy time round two.
3. Fenn: 9.75/10 ❤️✋🏻✔️ mc whispers in his ear and fenn get’s immediately horny, touching places on mc’s body to see where she’s sensitive. He’s like “I wanted our first time to be gentle but i see you like it rough.” but then tells her to get on top of him and its not super descriptive but she does *ahem* go for a ride. In his perspective, it’s the morning after and then begins a round two… but Toa cockblocks
2. Tino : 10/10 ❤️ ✋🏻👆🏻 ✔️ this one is funny only bc mc is literally like “idc the headmaster says not to, tino is too hot we deserve this” soo they get hot and heavy, kissing and heavily implied fingering and then implied going all the way, but then in his perspective awoooga indeed they get to hanky panky and its actually descriptive.
1. Grayson: 10.25/10 ❤️ ✋🏻👆🏻 ✔️ Slightly above Tino’s, it’s another one of the more…. passionate endings with lots of kissings and implied sex, in his perspective things get even more hot and heavy and its… pretty descriptive.
in summary: Knight, Rio, Lynt feature very little actual Mischief. Read Guy, Toa, and Roy’s endings if you want to pretend they actually have their first time, but don’t buy their perspectives expecting hanky panky. Read and buy Lance’s perspective if you want a hot ending, but not the full go of it. Read Lou, Fenn, and Dia’s ending for their first time, but don’t buy their perspectives if you’re expecting more description. Read Grayson and Tino ending for a slightly more raunchy ending, but with only implied first time. Buy their perspectives for the full first time scene with more description.
