Kinda weirds me out how many npcs are convinced that "if only rook were there" the other city wouldn't have gotten it as bad. When in reality, rook is no more adept or experienced at fighting dragons than anyone else on the team. They're not any more powerful than anyone else and they don't have any command over any armies. a spot of trouble may be an understatement, although in some ways, jacuzzi feels so in over his head that he doesn't even know where to begin digging his way out of it.

the mafia boss' voice is polite, but jacuzzi knows better than to be put at ease by that, && he tenses despite himself. it's unclear to him the complete relationship between the gandors && the martillos, although he's overheard claire felix explaining it to chané a number of times. from what he's gathered, they have some sort of nonaggression pact. maybe it's because one is mafia && one is camorra ( not that jacuzzi fully understands the difference ), or maybe it's because the three gandor brothers grew up with one of the martillos' executives, firo prochaneizo — jacuzzi's new boss.

he assumes luck knows about that development, so he can only hope that means this offer is made in good faith, && won't cause issues. after al, it seems like he's trying to protect the martillos... i can respect that.
