Save Us Rocket...
"Fix the ship, Rodent!" snarled Drax.
Internally, Rocket seethed--but then his crimson eyes seemed to light up. "Oh, you call me rodent now, blue boy" he sassed, "but one day it'll be like this..."
And then... Rocket opened his mouth and sang!
"Save us, Rocket, Nobody builds like you, Get that bench hummin' And please build us somethin' ta Blow us up that moon..."
Rocket walked off to return to his bench in the Cargo slash Landing Bay, his eyes a li'l misty. Why'd we have to hand that Terran over to Nova Corps? For a primitive, he seemed like a cool guy... The little raccoon sighed at a potential friend lost--but as he returned to his tinkering, there came a banging on the Cargo Bay doors!
"Da flarkin' hell...?" Rocket thought. Readying a small stunner just in case, the raccoon opened the doors and - "Whoo! What a rush!" - blinked in surprise then outright cackled as David nearly fell into the cargo bay. Fortunately, the human caught himself in time--but then Rocket yelped as he was quickly picked up in a raucous hug, a hug he returned with fervour, his crimson eyes now very misty. It's just the dust in here, messin wit'--oh, flarkin'...
"Da flark HAPPENED?!" poor Rocket cried, voice breaking. "Flarkin'... when we handed you to Nova Corps, I thought you were gonna end up in the flarkin' KYLN... I thought you... I thought you were..."
"Aw, little man..." David soothed as the doors automatically closed and he stepped inside, over to Rocket's bench. As Rocket nuzzled into his humie, inhaled his scent, lick-licked him, snuffled back a sob, David sat down with Rocket near the work bench - not letting him go for a minute - and continued, "Nah, as it turns out, some idiot at the Corps wanted to book me and the band in for another concert..."
Now Rocket pulled back, wide-eyed. "What... da... flark...?" the raccoon half-laughed, incredulous.
"I know, right; that's what I thought when the bounty was erased, and I was let go. Hoo, boy, was Ronon Dey pissed when he heard--oh dude, shh, shh, listen! I think he's still going, holy shit...!"
Immediately, human and raccoon shut up and, yes, in the silence, both could clearly hear a Nova Corps Rookie being thoroughly dressed down, and loudly at that! Rocket's eyes widened--and then he clamped his paws desperately over his muzzle, snerked and snorted - trying in vain to hold back his laughter - wanting to keep listening, finding it all flarkin' hilarious! David did the same, hands over his mouth, body shaking with barely suppressed laughter. Oooooh, frack, I had no idea Centurions could be that loud! Rocket thought, in a mixture of awe and amusement. Jeeze, I'd hate to be that guy!
"... VACUUMING UP THE BARRACKS DUST WITH YOUR NOSE, CORPSMAN...!"
That was it, they were done; David and Rocket lost it and laughed and laughed, and laughed, clutching each other tightly until they flopped on the Cargo Bay floor, struggling for breath--but no sooner had they calmed down, gotten some air,
"...CLEANING THE LAVATORIES WITH YOUR TONGUE, DO YOU HEAR ME, CORPSMAN! YOUR TONGUE!"
... Rocket and David lost it again, laughing until they nearly choked! "Oh, gods, can barely breathe," the human gasped, "I can't - ah-ha-ha! - shit, hold on..." As Rocket howled his own laughter, banged his paws on the floor, David got up, went over to the mini fridge he'd stashed under the bench and retrieved from it a couple of milky-fizzes, one of which he put a straw in for Rocket. Together, both calmed, sipped their drinks and relaxed, content in each other's company.
The modified song referenced here is "Save us Sarah" by the Smoky Brights, from the game "Pacific Drive"; it's a banger!

No one seems to be talking about the destruction of Xandar, but I feel so so bad for Corpsman Dey and his family. They were actually one of my favorite parts of the first Guardians movie even though they only have so much material, I always thought it was such a sweet subplot (if you can even call it that, really, but still) and seeing them happily reunite in the end makes my heart melt. But now Xandar has been decimated, and I got the impression that they meant all of it and not just half, so unless they were conveniently vacationing on another planet that day, they’re dead now. They didn’t deserve it.

Sam Alexander HC story time!! (Never done a headcanon story like this before):
This is a mix of Sam from guardians of the galaxy and ultimate Spider-Man. Basically, Sam from Gaurdians of the galaxy and he works with shield and everything.
-Sam goes missing from the Nova core, obviously Corpsman Dey has to deal with this
-he calls SHIELD bc he knows that Sam also works for them, Fury isn’t happy (also, Spider-Man, White Tiger, Iron fist and Power man and watching this)
-Fury says he has no clue and Dey calls the Guardians, while staying on with Fury
-Rocket answers in the ‘hangout area’ of the ship
-Sam is just chilling playing video games
-his explanation: “they kidnapped me. Bag over my head and everything. Took my com too.”
-the Guardians (Peter and Rocket) got lectured hard.
-Sam laughed the entire time

An Accurate Find and a Mistaken Identity | Counterfeit Criminals pt. 9
Pairing: Loki x fem!reader
Chapter Summary: You take a little pit stop to sell the wand.
Warnings: Just a lil’ bit of fluff!
Word Count: 1.5k
A/N: So this is a small chapter but it’s a set up for the next one! Hope you enjoy it regardless and I’m feeling back in the groove of writing so hopefully I can put out the next chapter soon too! <3
Counterfeit Criminals | Part Nine
You walked down the pristine white streets, watching Loki as he eyed the surroundings warily. You tugged him along, his hand in yours you weaved through the crowd of people going about as if they didn’t have a care in the world. To any unknowing civilian, the two of you looked like any other couple, wandering the streets of Xandar on a warm, sunny afternoon, enjoying the fresh air. That cover was the main reason you kept him so close. The other was to make sure he wouldn’t do anything stupid.
Even though, technically, you knew you were safe on this planet, there was always a small part of you that was worried. No matter how much this deal would benefit you, the fact that you were at their mercy never slipped your mind.
The crowd thickened the closer you got to the Nova Corps base and Loki’s steps slowed, though you weren’t sure if it was because of the wave of people or if it was because of something else.
“I’m sure I don’t need to tell you this,” He said as you slipped around the building to the back end, “But these people will arrest you on sight. What you do isn’t exactly legal, Midgardian.”
“True,” You amended, “But they’re not going to arrest me.”
He peered down at you curiously, “And why is that?”
“Because sometimes,” You smirked before pushing open the door and pulling him in with you, “Even good people need someone to do a bad thing,”
He followed, intrigued, as you navigated the winding grey corridors.
“I can see that this isn’t the first time you’ve done this,” He remarked. Noting your look, he elaborated, “This isn’t the main entrance. I doubt you could find your way had this been your first time.”
“Could you?” You asked, knowing you were still far from knowing the full extent of his magical abilities.
The corner of his mouth twitched upward, his eyes bright - even in the dim, grey light - filled with mischief and something else you couldn’t name. He lifted your intertwined hands so that they hovered in between you.
“If you’re asking if you can let go now, the unfortunate answer is yes.”
You hadn’t realized you’d still been holding his hand, so you let go and shrugged, trying to cover up your surprise, “Good to know you’re not going to be a complete nuisance.”
A wolfish grin spread across his lips as if he knew that one of the reason’s you’d forgotten you’d been holding his hand was because it wasn’t exactly an unpleasant feeling. You glared at him a little before starting off again.
The rest of the winding way was silent, but not as uncomfortable as it had been since he’d arrived. Loki was a good ally to have in a fight, and although you knew you weren’t supposed to be walking into one, it was nice to know you had someone at your back.
When you heard the voices of the Nova Corps officers, you paused.
“Don’t say anything unless they talk to you directly,” You warned.
He raised a brow, “Afraid I’ll say something unseemly?”
“I’d rather not take any chances.”
He smirked.
The two of you walked in, side by side, and it wasn’t long before Corpsman Dey noticed you.
“Ah, YN. We were beginning to wonder if you were ever going to make it back,” He smiled, crossing the large, busy room, “And I see you’ve brought a friend.”
“Dey, this is-”
He raised a hand, cutting you off, “Oh I know who that is. He doesn’t need much introduction.”
Loki’s lips pulled into a sly, toothy grin, but he didn’t say anything.
“He’s only here to help transport the Wand for me,” You reassured him, “Nothing else.”
Dey smirked, “And here I thought the entirety of Asgard wanted you dead.”
“They do, but only on Tuesdays,” You forced a laugh, trying to keep your focus away from the past.
“Good thing it’s not Tuesday then,” He peered around you, searching, “Do you have it?”
You nodded and nudged Loki.
He summoned the Wand from whatever magical pocket he kept it in and offered it to Dey with a dangerous smile that made it look like Loki would bite Dey’s hand off if he got too close.
“It’s the real thing,” You tried break the tension Loki was so uselessly creating, “Of course, I understand that you might want to inspect it first, but even I can feel the power radiating off that thing.”
Dey took it from Loki, “Give me a few minutes and I’ll be back.”
You watched him walk off to the far end of the room where three other women were waiting. This was always the worst part of making deals with the Nova Corps. They’d never gone back on their word over the past year, but there was always the chance they didn’t like what they saw, and you’d end up in prison.
“You know,” Loki whispered into your ear, “They would take the Warlock’s Eye as well.”
Your breath caught in your throat, “I know.”
“Then why didn’t you ask me to bring it?”
You knew the real reason why, but you refused to tell him, “I can get more out of it elsewhere.”
He huffed a laugh, “I’m sure that’s true.”
“Seems your skills have paid off once again,” Dey said on his way back, “Which means our deal is still intact.”
“Glad to hear it,” You followed as he led the two of you back toward the way you came in.
“You keep interesting company, YN” Dey stopped not far from the exit, extending his hand, “As long as you keep these matters discrete, it shouldn’t be a problem.”
You shook his hand, “I’ll take our dealings to the grave.”
He nodded and released your hand, watching as you left the building. Loki didn’t say anything until you were back out in the bright sunshine and the bustle of Xandar.
“What’s the deal?” He asked, motioning to the small envelope Dey had slipped into your hand.
You pocketed it, “In exchange for artifacts that have fallen into the wrong hands, they give me a small sum of money and make arrangements with other planets, wiping my criminal record from their databases. For a job like this, my record’s been wiped clear of five more.”
“And the cash?” He asked.
“Units,” You replied, understanding his question, “I spend more time out here than I do on earth to have any use of human money.”
He stayed silent for a moment the asked, so softly you barely heard him over the sounds from the busy street, “Do you miss it?”
“Miss what?” You asked, paying more attention to finding a clear path off the street than anything else.
“Earth.”
Surprised, you stopped and looked up at him, almost getting run over by a business man in a hurry. It was the first time he’d ever used your own name for your planet and not his. Odd didn’t even begin to cover how you felt right now, but you weren’t about to make a big deal of something you were sure was nothing.
Shrugging, you pulled him along, making sure the two of you didn’t get separated by the busy crowd, “I don’t have much to miss, I guess. I never seem to fit in there, and even if I don’t here either, at least I have a purpose and something I’m good at, you know?”
“I can imagine,” He murmured, following you with long, easy strides, “You never did seem out of place out here.”
A smile touched your lips, “I guess we all figure out what we’re good at eventually.”
“It seems it may take longer for some of us…” The rest of his words drifted off into the crowd, apparently more for himself than for you.
“Excuse me,” A cheery voice beside Loki interrupted, “Would you like to buy a flower for your beautiful partner?”
He glanced down at the vendor in surprise, but a smile quickly replaced the look.
“We’re not-” You blurted out.
“I think that’s a wonderful idea,” Loki grinned, cutting you off, “I’ll take two please.”
Loki transferred the money and took the flowers, extending them to you, “So you can have something of mine in your other hand as well.”
Once again, you realized you were holding his hand, which must have been the reason the vendor had mistaken you for a couple. You almost let go and threw the flowers to the ground in an attempt to keep fighting whatever seemed to keep drawing you two together, but you didn’t. Deep down, you wanted to stop fighting because you really did want things to go back to the way they had been; you always had. Staring at the brightly coloured flowers, you decided that maybe it was time you let go of some of that anger. And when you took the flowers from his hand and pulled him along, you almost swore you heard him sigh as if he’d been holding his breath, waiting for your decision.

Monsterverse
I was watching the latest version of Godzilla over the weekend, and I just realized that the Monsterverse movies are basically AU Marvel movies.
The main characters in Skull Island were basically alternate versions of Loki, Captain Marvel, Nick Fury, and Corpsman Dey (from Guardians of the Galaxy).
The main characters in Godzilla were AU versions of Wanda and Pietro Maximoff.
They seem to have broken the pattern with the one that’s coming out in a couple of weeks, but considering there’s a lot more Marvel movies coming out, I’m reserving judgement.
I’m honestly not sure if I should just shake my head and walk away at this point, or start writing crossover fanfic. What do you guys think?

i knew the minute he called the nova corps “fascists” in volume one that he was gonna be the best mcu character & the love has only grown from there
hey friends if there was any doubt where i stand on things. i’m firmly in the “free palestine” camp. i could go on & on & on (you know i could) about apartheid and settler colonialism but for now im just gonna say that supporting the state of israel right now is supporting genocide.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Part 12 (Peter Quill x Reader)
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11
A/N: Sup gang, here is the final part to my Guardians of the Galaxy series! Stay tuned because the story continues in my next series for Guardians of the Galaxy Volume Two. I’m super excited to write that one. Hope you guys like how I concluded this and are looking forward to what’s next!
Warnings: swearing, fluff, angsty argument, slow burn :)
-
Several days had passed since The Guardians of the Galaxy retreated from the scene of the battle. The civilians of Xandar and the Nova Corp began to clean up the planet, removing debris, dirt, and destroyed ships. It will take a long time to rebuild the planet Ronan tried to wipe out, but they will be able to do it. In exchange for your help in defeating Ronan and assisting in the city's reconstruction, the Nova Corp allowed you to stay with them for as long as you need. The first night was great because you got cleaned up, washing the trauma of the fight off of you and several doctors tended to all of your injuries. Life became pretty normal after settling in because you were able to buy new clothes and items that were never replaced after your ship was destroyed. You don't know how long you'll be at the Nova Corp for or where you'll go afterward, but it's good to have a stable home for now. It's especially good to be with Peter and the rest of the Guardians, even though you all miss Groot terribly. Rocket has even been carrying around a potted plant with one of Groot's remaining branches. He hasn't been himself lately but you can tell he is grateful to have the rest of his new friends by his side for support.
A few more days go by and the five of you are summoned to the Nova Corp main office. There, you meet Peter and Gamora who stand beside Corpsman Dey and Nova Prime looking at a hologram of a male figure. You enter the room intrigued by what's going on.
"How would you even know this?" Peter asks the Nova officers. Oh, they are examining Peter. The hologram of him seems irregular or different and you hope everything is okay.
"When we arrested you, we noticed an anomaly in your nervous system, so we had it checked out," Dey says.
"I'm not Terran?"
He's not Terran?
"You are half Terran," Nova Prime answers to your relief. "Your mother was of Earth...your father, well, he's something very ancient we've never seen here before."
"If you aren't completely Terran and you're something else that's unknown," you wonder. "Is that why you were able to hold the Infinity Stone?"
"That could be why he was able to hole the Stone or as long as he did," Gamora responds.
"Exactly."
Suddenly, the elevator doors slide open, pulling you from your thoughts on what power Peter could possess. Drax and Rocket enter and Nova Prime immediately goes over to them and groups all of you together. "Your friends have arrived," she announces. "On behalf of the Nova Corp, we'd like to express our profound gratitude for your help in saving Xandar. If you will follow Denarian Dey, he has something to show you."
"Thank you, Nova Prime," Peter discloses, following Dey.
You nod and express your gratitude as well. "Thank you so much, for everything you've done for us." You jog to catch up, walking behind Gamora and Drax.
"Your wife and child shall rest well knowing that you have avenged them," Gamora tells him.
"Yes, of course, Ronan was only a puppet. It's really Thanos I need to kill."
As Drax walks beyond the two of you, you both exchange glances of exasperation. Well, that will certainly be a new adventure. But, you are not turning down the idea of taking down Thanos.
On the balcony, the five of you stand before a beautiful ship. It replicates the Milano but it's clearly updated and has a shiny, new look. It is also much bigger and is able to home a group of people as opposed to one, lone Ravager.
"We tried to keep it as close to the original as possible. We salvaged as much as we could," Dey says.
"Wow." Peter stares at the Milano in awe. He is at a loss for words. "I...thank you."
"This is amazing!" you exclaim. "You guys really outdid yourself. Thank you so much."
Dey looks at all of the Guardians. "I have a family. They're alive because of you. Your criminal records have also been expunged. However, I have to warn you against breaking any laws in the future." The five of you nod to him in gratitude.
"Question," Rocket states. "What if I see something that I want to take, and it belongs to someone else?"
"You will be arrested."
"But what if I want it more than the person who has it?"
"It's still illegal."
"That doesn't follow. No, I want it more, sir. Do you understand?" You snicker at the raccoon. Gamora takes him and pushes him along toward the ship, saving Dey from a bombardment of Rocket's jokes and questions. "What are you laughing at? What? I can't have a discussion with this gentleman?"
"What if someone does something irksome and I decide to remove his spine?" Drax asks seriously.
"That's...that's actually murder, it's one of the worst crimes of all. So...also illegal." Drax just shakes his head in response, knowing he will damn well kill someone if he has to. You follow him slowly, hoping Peter will catch up to you.
Behind you, he pats Dey on the back. "They'll be fine, Dey. I'm gonna keep an eye on em."
"You?"
"Yeah, me."
With that, he saunters up to you. You turn to him and smile. "I guess I'm stuck here with you assholes then, huh?"
He chuckles, taking your arm and leading you into the Milano. "I owed you a ship, remember? Now you have one." He winks and then disappears into his quarters.
You do the same and go check out your new room. It's identical to everyone else's, but the closet is filled with the clothes that you gathered while staying at the Nova Corp. Your new fashion sense consists of tight spacesuits that Peter can gawk at you in. You also received new pajamas and underwear and everything you need to live a happy life here on the Milano as a Guardian of the Galaxy. Perhaps there are a few of Peter's shirts and boxers in your room, some that you may have stolen over the course of your stay at the Nova Corp. Peter knows very well where his missing clothes have gone and he knows just how to retrieve them back from you, but there would be another occasion for that.
You drag your hand along the wall and think about the memories you'll make. You make a mental note to yourself to find that illegal shop where you can buy items from Terra so you can replace your '80s movie posters and band posters that once covered the walls on your ship. You also may check and see if you can purchase Footloose, that way you and Peter can sit down and educate Gamora.
You leave your room and head toward the common area, passing Peter's quarters on the way. You linger slightly and spot him sitting on the bed, fidgeting with the present box from a couple days ago.
"Y/N?" he calls out to you.
You enter his room and lean against the doorframe. "Hmm?"
"Can I ask you somethin'?"
"Of course," you reply, making your way to his bed and taking a seat next to him.
"Do you ever think about going back?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like, returnin' to Terra?"
"I've thought about it a few times after escaping from Thanos, but not really," you answer truthfully. "I was so young when I was taken, not really understanding Earth itself yet. Space is truly the only thing I've ever known. I also think it's because I know my family is there. I know they must miss me and assume the worst after I've been gone so long. I miss them too, so much. There are so many people I never got to see again. I'm sure my parents were worried sick after I was taken, thinking I was kidnapped or ran away...but after twenty-something years they probably think I'm dead and was just never found, you know? That's hard to go back to."
"But, if you miss them, and you know they miss you, why wouldn't you go back?"
You sigh, looking at the ground. "I'm afraid that they'd want me to stay."
"And you wouldn't wanna stay?"
"No, because I know that deep down I'd always miss exploring space. Plus, I have a new family now, one that I could never leave."
Peter takes your hand. "I don't want to go back either. But it's always been because I never wanted to live on Earth without my mother being there. I don't want to know what the world is like without her."
You graze his large, warm hand with your thumb, caressing it soothingly. "Peter..."
"Now it's because I never want to leave you," he confesses.
You rest your head on his shoulder and use your free hand to rub circles on his back. The two of you stare down at the box that Peter has been holding, turning it over and over in his hand. "What is that?" you ask.
"It's the last thing my mother gave to me after she died."
"You never opened it?"
"No, but I think I'm finally ready to open it."
You remove your hand from his and sit up. "Do you want me to go? I should probably leave you alone for this." He turns to you, his green eyes boring into yours.
"Stay."
You nod and resume your previous position to comfort him.
"Always."
Peter tears at the old, wrapping paper and removes a letter. You don't read it but he looks over the words so thoughtfully and carefully so you know it must mean so much to him. You notice his eyes swell up with tears and you lean closer into him for support. In his hand rests a new mixtape titled "Awesome Mix Vol. 2″ which is most likely composed of more songs that have so much meaning to Peter.
"Your mother seems like a wonderful person," you state, trying to find the right words to cheer him up.
"She was...and she would've loved you."
"Really?" you ask gleefully.
He chuckles. "Yeah, because you're exactly like me."
You laugh too. "Peter..." you get serious now and stare into his eyes once again. "...she would be so proud of you."
He pulls you into a tight hug, breaking any space there was between you two. "Thank you, Y/N, thank you so much."
"Hey," you say, patting his back so he pulls away. "Do you want to listen to it?"
He grins brightly. "Hell yeah."
You both get up and head for the common area where Gamora, Drax, and Rocket are hanging out. You take the tape from Peter and pop it into the speaker of the ship. It was really cool of Nova Corp to include that, knowing it will be quite useful to you and Peter. Once he presses play, a familiar beat you recognize from one of your own tapes echoes throughout the ship. The first song on the tape is "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, a true classic. His mom really did have good taste.
"Listen, baby,
Ain't no mountain high,
Ain't no valley low,
Ain't no river wide enough baby,"
"I love this song!" you yell.
"Of course you do," Peter beams. He smirks at you, extending a hand. "May I have this dance?"
You take his hand and smirk right back. "Obviously," you scoff. He spins you around and then pulls you into him, the two of you swaying to the rhythm.
"If you need me, call me,
No matter where you are,
No matter how far,
Don't worry baby,
Just call my name,
I'll be there in a hurry,
You don't have to worry,"
"Get a room!" Rocket hollers, shaking his head in disgust. "Humies, man, always being weird." As he heads over to the flight deck, you can't help but notice him tapping his foot as he waltzes to his seat.
You and Peter ignore his remark and it doesn't take long for you both to begin singing loudly and very off-key, him taking the man's lyrics and you taking the woman's. It's fun, and you know you'll never need words to cheer Peter up if there is music that can easily do the job.
"Cause baby there ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough,
To keep me from getting to you babe,"
Gamora strides past the both of you, nodding her head and tapping her foot to the beat. You gasp. "Gamora likes it!"
"The melody is pleasant," she confesses, continuing to walk to the flight deck as well.
It brings you so much joy to finally see your sister happy and free from the strains of Thanos. As young kids, Gamora and Nebula felt like the only family you were ever going to have out in space. The three of you trained together for years, learning how to fight, dominate, and work hard to be powerful. It was exhausting. Thanos owned you and your sisters. Watching Gamora smile alongside you and your new family filled your heart with so much happiness. There will be so many pleasant memories to make in the days ahead.
"Remember the day I set you free,
I told you, you could always count on me, darling,
From that day on, I made a vow,
I'll be there when you want me,
Some way, somehow,"
You and Peter continue dancing to the music playfully. He presses himself really close to you. "I just remembered I saved your life the other day, along with the entire galaxy. So, I believe you owe me somethin'," he whispers in your ear seductively.
"You definitely did not just remember that."
"Well, you left me kissless after the battle against Ronan," he states. "But I recall you tellin' me to let you do whatever you wanna do to me. You called me Star-Lord. You begged."
You scoff, widening your eyes at the man. "I did no such thing!"
"Hey," Peter whispers. "A promise is a promise, sweetheart. I don't make the rules."
"I never promised anything."
Peter leans his head back with an annoyed groan. He usually lives for the flirty banter, but he's been craving your lips on his for so long that he is growing impatient. "Would you just shut up and kiss me already?"
"Cause baby there ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough,
To keep me from getting to you babe,"
As the music plays, your singing slows and you lean into him, staring at his lips. He prepares himself for a totally hot makeout session with you, placing his hands on your hips. But, you give him a peck on the cheek and pull away.
"Hey! What the hell?" he shouts.
"I owed you a kiss, remember?" you giggle. "Now you got one!"
You start to skip away from Peter but you feel a strong grip on your wrist, pulling you back to him. There is no space left between the two of you, your body flush against his. You're breathless. His eyes trace over every detail on your face until he finally lands on your lips. Instantly, he kisses you. It's rough, hungry, and very much needed. The kiss deepens as Peter manages to pull you closer to him, one hand trailing down your back and the other wrapping around your neck and grazing your jawline. After a few moments, his lips slowly and reluctantly retreat from yours. You lean in, eyes fluttering, needing more. Peter smirks with delight.
"I kinda meant somethin' like that."
"Oh no, darling,
No wind,
No rain,
Or winters cold can stop me, baby,
Nah nah baby,
Cause you are my goal,
If you're ever in trouble,
I'll be there on the double,
Just send for me, oh baby, ha,"
You stare into Peter's bright, green eyes, searching for the right words to express how you feel. He continues to stare at you with a soft, loving smile with his hand resting warmly on the side of your face. Ever since you met the legendary outlaw, you've been desperately attracted to him, your feelings growing deeper and deeper with every mere interaction. Whenever Peter defended you or swooped in to save your life, you felt yourself on the brink of falling in love. Yet, is that what you wanted? To be in love with a playboy? A man who most women knew to avoid?
"Peter," you mumble, the eye contact faltering as your heartbeat quickens. "We can't do this."
"Why not?" Peter asks gently, caressing your face sweetly. "You'd be lyin' if you said you didn't like me, sweetheart."
"You have a reputation," you sigh, pulling away from Peter as you push a hand through your hair. The possibility of Peter using you for sex or being caught with another woman would destroy you, and you decide that you're better off letting him go. "There have been too many women in the past. You've never been in a real relationship, Peter. You sleep with women and kick them to the curb the very next morning. I witnessed it with Bereet! I really care about you, but I also care about myself. I just...I can't get hurt."
Peter takes in your words seriously, walking toward you and encompassing your hand in his own. "I could never hurt you, Y/N. I really want to give this a try."
"We can't!"
"Are you afraid that I'll leave you and choose someone else or somethin'? Are you nervous I'll flirt with someone else? Huh? Or are you just scared of commitment?" Peter raises his voice. "Cause that's ridiculous, Y/N. Ever since we first met I've only been able to picture myself with you. I only want you and I will only ever want you...no one else."
You take a deep breath, unsure if you can trust him. "Peter..."
"At least let me prove myself to you," Peter mutters, placing both of his hands at your sides and searching for your gaze. You look up at him. "Give me some time to show you how badly I want this. I promise I can change."
"Fine," you agree, kindly smiling at him. He returns your grin with a flirtatious smirk, quickly back to his seductive antics. Silently, you wish to yourself that he changes his womanizing ways and commits himself to you. You vow to restrain yourself from giving in to him until he does. "For now...you had your kiss of gratitude to hold you over."
My love is alive,
Way down in my heart,
Although we are miles apart,
If you ever need a helping hand,
I'll be there on the double,
Just as fast as I can,"
You disperse from Peter and make your way over to the flight deck, taking a seat next to your friends. It's not long before Peter follows, standing behind your seat and leaning in close to your ear. "I thought I would at least get to pick where the kiss was..." You smack him playfully and he chuckles, taking his place at the pilot's seat.
Next to him, Rocket's plant suddenly grows into a small being. It opens it's eyes and yawns, swaying slightly back forth. Rocket looks down at it in awe, starting to tear up from joy. It resembles a little Groot, and you know the Guardians just regained an old member.
You pat Rocket on the head gently, comforting him. He looks up at you with glossy eyes and a kind smile. The raccoon was certainly an unlikely friend, but one you were very glad to have made. He'll never admit it, but you're his favorite on the team.
"Don't you know that there,
Ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough,
To keep me from getting to you babe."
"So, what should we do next?" Peter asks the crew. "Something good? Something bad? A bit of both?"
"We'll follow your lead...Star-Lord," you suggest, knowing that you are driving him crazy by calling him that.
A goofy grin creeps up to his lips. "Bit of both!"
With that, he takes off steering you in a random direction to god knows what destination. You don't know where things are going to go with Peter, but there isn't a doubt in your mind that you like him. He's a dorky goofball, but a super hot, dorky goofball that knows how to flirt and make you blush like a damn fool. Maybe he's a player....but maybe he can change for you. You don't know yet. All you know right now is that you have a family and a home.
You're a Guardian of the Galaxy, and that is pretty fucking cool.

Fancast for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3″
Assuming the whole team (Peter, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Mantis, Kraglin, and Nebula) return from Infinity War...
1) Rodrigo Santoro as Adam Warlock (introduced as a new hero that the Guardians must help. Not technically a Guardian, more like a business partner)
2) Doug Jones as the voice and mocap of the Kree’s Supreme Intelligence / Supremor (the bigger bad who supports the true main antagonist)
3) Rinko Kikuchi as Hala the Accuser, a Kree warrior who blames the Guardians for allowing Thanos’ rise to power. She goes after them, seeking justice. She also goes after Adam Warlock when the Supreme Intelligence gives her the order (main antagonist but more of an anti-villain since she has righteous motives)
4) Mark Hamill as Json of Spartax: Retconned as one of Peter Quill’s former associates and “uncle figure” since Ego is his father in this universe. Revealed to be helping Hala the Accuser (secondary antagonist)
5) Elizabeth Debicki returns as Ayesha but in a less significant role. She is only here to introduce Adam, who quickly leaves the Sovereign to forge his own path.
6) Jeff Goldblum returns as the Grandmaster. Only appears in the opening scene, where the Guardians accomplish a task that has nothing to do with the main plot (like taking down the monster in the opening of Vol. 2)
7) Ludi Lin as Nova Corpsman Josh Atwater: Appears as the reluctant ninth Guardian. He is assigned to the team by Rhomann Dey after the Nova Corps decided they wanted one of their own to “supervise” the Guardians. However, the Guardians don’t listen to him. Over time, they come to accept him as a member of the team, even though he leaves in the end. Josh’s true role in the movie is to hype up a Nova Corps spin-off focused on Richard Rider and Sam Alexander.
8) John C. Reilly reprising his role as Rhomann Dey (see above)
9) Bill Hader as the voice of Wal Rus, a talking walrus and Rocket and Groot’s former ally-turned-occasional enemy. Appears briefly to help the Guardians, albeit reluctantly.
10) Ngo Thanh Van / Veronica Ngo as Hovat, Drax’s wife. Appears in a flashback sequence.
11) Steven Ogg as J’Son’s lead henchman. He plays the type of villain who does the dirty work for the main villains and gets killed before the climax.

"It's wrong for tany to try and kill Bucky but it's ok for Peter to shoot Ego and T'Challa to go after Bucky?"
Yes. Yes it is.
Ego was a dick and he, of his own FREE WILL, put a tumour in Peter's mother's head. He chose to destroy her life out of selfish reasons. Peter had every right to blast that guy.
T'Challa didn't know Bucky was brainwashed or that he wasn't behind the bombing. He went after someone he though was responsible for his father's death.
Turbulence Skunk knew Bucky wasn't in control. He even made a nickname out of it. Beyond that he saw a glimpse of what Bucky's life was like by the cryo tanks, the suspicious looking chair in the middle of the room, and the overall dismal living conditions. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out which he either is or isn't depending on what favours their argument. He also had Steve yelling it at him as a desperate attempt to stop him from murdering his best friend.
And no "you would do the same" garbage argument doesn't justify it either because I went my entire life not wanting to murder anyone no matter how mad they made me it's really not that hard. And just because you're willing to kill an innocent person doesn't mean it's automatically ok it's still wrong and against the law.
To quote Corpsman Dey "That's actually murder...It's one of the worst crimes of all...Also illegal"
So keep on trying to justify murder because you'll always be wrong.

Sanctuary, part 7 (RR/Lylla)
The crew go to Xandar to have a cyberneticist look Lylla over. They get some surprises along the way.
Note: This was supposed to be a last chapter, or next to last. But the story keeps growing as I write it. I bet that happens to a lot of writers.
*****
"Well, someone's learning," Rocket cackled. They'd just emerged from jump high over Xandar and the view was dramatically different than the last time they were there.
Last time they had two heavy attack ships launched from Yondu's Eclector and a swarm of Ravager 2- and 3-man ships to try to stop Ronan's carrier and its huge number of fighters. Nova Corps hadn't shown up until halfway through the battle and even then only with one-man fighters, though admittedly a lot of them. That was nowhere near enough to stop Ronan and the result had been a terrifyingly close call before the Guardians managed it, by luck (and a dance-off) more than anything else.
Nova Corps had learned. The Milano came out of jump and within seconds was scanned half a dozen times. The jump nexus was surrounded by dozens of weapons platforms ranging from ones barely bigger than the Milano, little more than point defense systems on an armored hull designed to pick off missiles and fighters, to looming fortresses bristling with armament. Sullen red dots appeared on the screens like a rash as the Nova Corps fleet registered on their sensors. None of the vessels bulked as large as the Dark Aster but there were at least a dozen capital ships and twice that many escorts.
"That is a lot of firepower," Star-Lord said. "Good thing none of it's aimed at us."
"Where was all of this last time? It could have stopped Ronan before he ever made atmosphere." Pragmatic Drax asked the obvious question.
"Lured out of position by the attack on the Kyln from what I've read. And most of these forts are new. There are still construction shuttles around the bigger ones." Gamora touched a control. "Traffic control on line one."
"Xandar control, this is the Milano," Peter said. He opened his mouth to give their registration code but was cut off.
"Guardians, proceed to beacon 14. Priority lane sigma will take you to the spaceport."
Rocket looked at Peter. "Priority lane, huh?"
"What does that mean," Lylla asked from where she was pressed against the windshield. It was only the second series of jumps she'd been through and she'd been too stressed to enjoy the one after she was rescued. The otter found the starscape and brief views of other star systems and planets enthralling. Now she was staring past the glittering dots of ships and forts at the blue curve of Xandar below.
"It means we were expected and we're getting special treatment," Peter said. "That's all I know."
Xandar traffic control, once lackadaisical (as witnessed by the fact that Star-Lord, then a Ravager, and even Rocket and Groot once made it to the surface with little difficulty) was stricter now. A chain of lane beacons ushered them down and though no one was actively targeting them, they were certainly being watched just in case.
"Check it out," Rocket said, and indicated a vacant area near the water. Surrounded by cityscape, this was where the Dark Aster came down and flattened more than a square mile of buildings.
"Isn't that supposed to be a park now?" Much of the area was scorched-looking, with groves of trees and grass only at the edges.
"I heard they turned the crash site into a memorial park," Peter said. "I can't imagine they are only this far done with it."
Five minutes later they were on the ground. The next surprise was Denarian Dey meeting them at the ramp.
"Guardians, welcome," he said, his slightly tubby body squeezed into his Nova armor as it'd been the last time they saw him. "I see you have some new members."
Peter made the introductions. "Dey, this is Mantis. She was instrumental in helping us defeat Ego."
"And its a good thing you did," Dey said as he nodded politely to her. "Ego's spawn, seed, whatever you call it, was right in the new memorial park. Whatever you did stopped it but even so there were many casualties, here and on virtually every world we traffic with. If you hadn't...we wouldn't be here now."
"Ah," he said, kneeling down to Lylla's height. "The rescued Uplift. I don't know your name...?"
"Lylla," she chirped. "I've only had a name for a few days."
"I'm glad you picked one," Dey said. "Some of the others still haven't. I don't like using their old designation, they always jerk to attention and salute." Very politely, and waiting with his hand out for her nodded permission, he reached out and petted her.
Rocket gritted his teeth. He wasn't sure what came over him at that moment, but the words snapped out of him. "All right already, let's get goin'. We haven't got all day."
"Its all right," Lylla whispered into his ear as they climbed into the hovercar. "It was just a little pet. Mantis petted you yesterday, right?"
"I just don't like," he said out loud, then grimaced and leaned close to her to whisper as the other Guardians looked at him. "Don't like bald bodies treatin' us like animals."
"If they ask, and we know them, and we like it, its all right though, right?" That left Rocket at a loss for words. He let the other Guardians pet him sometimes now. Dey asked for permission first. Why did it bother him that the Nova corpsman petted Lylla?
"All kindsa stupid thoughts," Rocket whispered to Peter when they got out of the car, and Pete just grinned. What good was it to have a friend who knew about these things if he wouldn't help when you were confused? Rocket was left irritated and grumpy and only recovered when he saw the statues.
"Oh, what the hell," he said as he looked up. There was a statue of Pete, and one of Gamora, and Drax, and there was Adult Groot (which made him tear up a little, if he was honest). All gathered around a statue of Ronan lying on the ground, his Universal Weapon dangling from his lifeless hand.
"Look, Rocket," Lylla chirped as she scuttled forward on all fours. "It's you!"
And it was. There among the others, in his briefly worn Ravager uniform and with his quad-blaster on his shoulder was a statue of him.
"Pretty sure I'm taller than that," Rocket grumbled, and turned to look at the Nova fighter on static display nearby. "In gratitude to the Guardians Of The Galaxy and the heroes of Nova Corps who fought to protect Xandar," Gamora read off a plaque.
"I can't believe we got statues," Peter said, then froze.
Rocket had found it too, and stood silent, his hands gripped in front of him. He and Peter stood side by side for a moment, and the others were respectfully silent.
"Who's that," Lylla chirped, but neither Rocket nor Pete trusted himself to answer. She scuttled forward to read the plaque herself.
"Yondu Udonta, hero of Xandar, who fell defending the galaxy from the scourge of Ego the Living Planet," she read. "He will be remembered."
And there he was, cast in metal, his arrow in flight and his lips pursed to whistle. "My dad," Peter said softly. "My friend," Rocket whispered.
"They just put that up," Dey said quietly. "He almost got one after the Battle Of Xandar, but his Ravager connections made it 'politically awkward'. He was offered a pardon then too, but he turned it down because his crew wasn't included. The artist already had the statue done but it sat in a warehouse for a year. There are still ships investigating Ego's remains and here," he gestured at the scorched area that made up much of the park, "They burned his...seed? right down to the bedrock. Just in case. Every one of you is a honorary citizen of Xandar now. Including Yondu."
"What about Kraglin," Peter said, and "Nebula?" Gamora asked at the same moment.
"Kraglin yes," Dey said. "He's been granted a full pardon, barring any further crimes. Nebula...that's still before the council. She did things that are hard to forgive."
"So did I," said Gamora, and Dey nodded.
"I am Groot," said the three-foot tall tree standing close behind Rocket.
"Wasn't your fault," Rocket muttered. "Yeah, I had to go to get you back to the ship, but if I'd just had one more space suit..."
"Rocket," Peter said gently. "You know it was a miracle you had as much as you did after getting captured. No one blames you."
Almost no one, Rocket thought, but he couldn't stay by the statue any more. He'd been weepy enough times in front of the Guardians.
Luckily Dey was rattling on about granting visiting rights to certain senior Ravagers to visit the memorial park and he was able to bottle up his weakness, stuffing the feelings down into the hole in his heart the way he always did.
But he couldn't fool Lylla. She'd known for a week but already she could read him like a book. Rather than saying something she just took his hand and he, the otter and Groot spent another minute looking up at Pete's dad until it was time to go.
"Where now," Peter said as they piled into the hover car.
"To visit your doctor friend," Dey said from the front seat, and it was Rocket's turn to grip Lylla's hand as she tensed up.
“It'll be all right,” he whispered, and from the other side Gamora put her hand on Lylla's shoulder.
“He's right,” she said. “Doctor Foster has helped us several times now. I'm even thinking of having him look me over, though between the two of us Rocket and I keep my cybernetics in good order.”
Lylla nodded, but she was still tense. If he'd know what would happen over the course of the rest of the day, Rocket would have been too.
