While strawberries certainly are a reddish-pink color and are roundish in shape, the origin of the name “Strawberry Moon” has nothing to do with the Moon’s hue or appearance.
• June's full Moon is typically the last full moon of spring or the first of summer. The June Full Moon will be extraordinary. For the first time since 1985, Full Moon happens precisely on the summer solstice, when the Sun is highest up. Because the Full Moon is always opposite the Sun, this year, you will see that the Moon is 10 widths lower on the horizon than the Sun ever is.
This “Strawberry Moon” name has been used by Native American Algonquian tribes that live in the northeastern United States as well as the Ojibwe, Dakota, and Lakota peoples to mark the ripening of “June-bearing” strawberries that are ready to be gathered. The Haida term Berries Ripen Moon reflects this as well. As flowers bloom and early fruit ripens, June is a time of great abundance for many.

The history of Litha reveals its deep connections to ancient agricultural societies & their reliance on the sun's power. Celebrated as part of the Wheel of the Year, Litha symbolizes the balance between light & darkness. Throughout history  customs such as bonfires, herb gathering & the construction of sunwheels have marked this festival. Today, Litha continues to be celebrated by various communities, with gatherings at sacred sites & private rituals in natural settings. It serves as a reminder of our connection with nature and the cycles of life.
• The traditions of Litha appear to be borrowed from many cultures. Most ancient cultures celebrated the summer solstice in some way such as the Celts celebrated Litha with hilltop bonfires & dancing. Many people attempted to jump over or through the bonfires for good luck. Other European traditions included setting large wheels on fire & rolling them down a hill into a body of water.
Litha is often associated with Midsummer, a celebration that extends beyond the pagan and Wiccan traditions. Midsummer festivities are observed in many cultures around the world, including Scandinavian countries where it holds a prominent place in their cultural heritage. Midsummer dances, bonfires, & feasts are integral parts of these celebrations, often accompanied by folklore and traditional rituals that honor the sun's energy and the abundance of nature during this time.
The summer solstice is the longest day of the year & in some traditions, Litha is when The Sun(The God) is symbolically at it's peak time of power & the World will soon be ripe to harvest. It is also when The Goddess is pregnant with The God who is to be reborn at Yule.
• In the Northern Hemisphere the Summer Solstice occurs when the Sun reaches its highest and northernmost points in the sky. It marks the start of summer in the northern half of the globe. (In contrast, the June solstice in the Southern Hemisphere is when the Sun is at its lowest point in the sky, marking the start of winter.)
Some also believe the history & spirit of Litha revolve around two deities, The Oak King & The Holly King. In Wiccan and Neo-Pagan traditions, each King rules the Earth for half of the year. From Yule to Litha, the Oak King rules. On Litha, the two battled for the crown and it is then that the Holly King triumphs. The Holly King will rule through fall until Yule, and the cycle will begin again.
Related festivals:
• Vestalia- June 7th -15th
Was a Roman religious festival in honor of Vesta, the goddess of the hearth & the burning continuation of the sacred fire of Rome. It was held from 7–15 June & was reserved as a women's-only event. Domestic & family life in general were represented by the festival of the goddess of the house & of the spirits of the storechamber — Vesta & the Penates .
On the first day of festivities the penus Vestae (sanctum sanctorum of the temple of Vesta which was usually curtained off) was opened for the only time during the year, at which women offered sacrifices. As long as the curtain remained open, mothers could come, barefoot and disheveled, to leave offerings to the goddess in exchange for a blessing to them and their family.
For the last day, the penus Vestae was solemnly closed, the Flaminica Dialis observed mourning & the temple was subjected to a purification called stercoratio: the filth was swept from the temple and carried next by the route called clivus Capitolinus and then into the Tiber.

National Banana Lovers Day
Today we celebrate the banana—the most popular fruit in the United  States and around the world. The average person eats about 100 of them a  year, which comes out to about 25 to 33 pounds worth. They are the  cheapest fruit and are also one of the most perishable. They may appear  to grow on trees, but they actually grow on plants that have 10 to 20  feet high trunks. The banana plant is an herb—the largest herb plant,  actually—and bananas are its fruit. The plant grows in the tropics.
Each banana is about 100 calories and is high in fiber and potassium,  which are good for treating high blood pressure, ulcers, calcium loss,  and some cancers. Bananas are also a good source of manganese, vitamin  B6, and vitamin C. There are over 1,000 varieties of bananas, but the  kind most eaten in the United States is the Cavendish. The Gros Michel  was once the most commonly eaten, but in the 1950s it fell victim to a  fungus that causes Panama disease, so farmers had to switch to the  Cavendish.
Bananas are the oldest cultivated fruit and likely were first  domesticated in Southeast Asia. Centuries later, shortly after Europeans  arrived in the Western Hemisphere, they were brought from the Canary  Islands to Hispaniola. They then spread to other islands, before making  it to the mainland. They didn't become widespread in the United States  until the end of the nineteenth century. They were so popular in  American cities in the early twentieth century that banana peels on the  ground became a nuisance and an issue that had to be dealt with. This  led to the gag of slipping on banana peels, which was frequently  featured in early movies.
Bananas were popularized in part by the United Fruit Company, which  was founded in the late nineteenth century, and is now known as  Chiquita. They encouraged people to eat bananas with milk and corn  flakes, and they put out banana recipe books until the end of the 1950s.  The books oftentimes contained adventurous recipes and aimed to get  people to eat bananas at every meal. They cast the banana not only as  something sweet but also as something similar to a vegetable, like a  potato. One example of a recipe from the book is ham banana rolls with  cheese sauce. Nowadays, bananas are still eaten in many different ways.  Besides being enjoyed plain, they may be fried, may be included in  sandwiches, and may be used in pies, puddings, muffins, breads, and  cakes—among other things. On National Banana Lovers Day, the sky's the  limit as to what can be done with them!
How to Observe National Banana Lovers Day
You should be eating as many bananas and foods made with bananas as possible today. While doing so, perhaps you could read Banana: The Fate of the Fruit That Changed the World. You could pick up an old United Fruit/Chiquita recipe book to help you decide what to eat, but we have also put together some recipe ideas for you here as well:
Elvis Presley's fried peanut butter and banana sandwich
Grilled banana s'mores
Fried sweet bananas
Honey-rum grilled bananas
Eat bananas with corn flakes and milk, just as United Fruit once encouraged everyone to do.
Try bananas in milk, with a little bit of sugar and a few drops of vanilla extract.
Banana bread
Banana muffins
Banana cake
Banana split
Banana cream pie
Banana pudding
Banana cocktails
Banana smoothies
Make some matooke, which is the most popular banana dish in the world and from Uganda.
Make Bananas Foster, a New Orleans specialty.
Make the original United Fruit ham banana rolls with cheese sauce!!!

A Brief History of Smithworks Vodka
Smithworks Vodka was launched in 2016 as a collaboration between Pernod Ricard and American country singer Blake Shelton. The mission was to create a genuine and smooth American vodka using locally sourced ingredients. Smithworks was distilled three times and charcoal-filtered, resulting in its signature smoothness.
Rooted in heartland values, Smithworks sourced its corn from Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, and used water from Lake Fort Smith in Arkansas. This connection to the Midwestern United States earned the brand a loyal following and garnered positive reviews for its quality and taste.
The Mysterious Disappearance
Despite its solid fanbase and positive reception, Smithworks Vodka suddenly vanished from stores and bars in late 2019, leaving fans wondering: what happened?
Although there has been no official statement released by either Pernod Ricard or Blake Shelton, one reason for Smithworks' departure could be due to changes in ownership or strategic direction within the parent company, Pernod Ricard. The firm is known for its portfolio of diverse spirit brands, which include favorites like Absolut Vodka, Jameson Irish Whiskey, and Malibu Rum. An internal decision may have led to Smithworks being discontinued in favor of focusing on other brands within their extensive lineup.
Another possible reason could be related to the current market for vodka itself. The vodka industry has become increasingly competitive in recent years, with a myriad of new brands and flavors constantly emerging. Smithworks may have had a difficult time finding its place in a market saturated with innovation. The vodka industry’s growth and evolution could have pushed Smithworks out of the limelight.
What We Can Learn from Smithworks Vodka
A Celebration of Local Ingredients
Despite its short run, Smithworks Vodka reminded us of the importance of using locally sourced ingredients and embracing regional character. The brand was a great representation of Midwestern values and tastes, using heartland resources in crafting their all-American spirit.
Staying Relevant in a Competitive Industry
The vodka market is ever-evolving, with new brands, flavors, and techniques emerging regularly. For up-and-coming and even well-established spirit brands, it's essential to stay relevant, innovative, and adapt to industry changes. Smithworks' story is a poignant reminder of the challenges any vodka brand can face in today's competitive landscape.
What Happened To Smithworks Vodka Example:
Imagine hosting a tasting party with friends to sample some of the best vodkas on the market. The lineup includes tried-and-true favorites, as well as locally produced offerings with unique stories. As you pour a round of Smithworks Vodka, you share its fascinating tale of a local heartland spirit made using corn from Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, as well as water from Lake Fort Smith in Arkansas. Despite its mysterious disappearance from the market, the spirit remains a fan favorite in the Midwest. Your friends and fellow vodka enthusiasts raise a toast to Smithworks Vodka, appreciating its journey and its smooth taste that remains in your memories.
There you have it, vodka lovers - the mysterious tale of Smithworks Vodka. While we may never know the complete story of why this beloved brand vanished, its legacy lives on through its fans and those who cherish its smooth, locally influenced taste. If you enjoyed this deep dive into vodka history and are thirsty for more, feel free to share this article with your friends and fellow vodka enthusiasts. Remember, Vodka Doctors is your ultimate resource for everything vodka - from brands to cocktails, we have it all. Happy tasting!

Decided to start a sort of a challenge run of Unicorn Overlord, cause I really like the game, but I both sort of found the game too easy on my first playthrough, and I was kinda disappointed that the game just vomits story units to you through the whole thing, so after the early game there's little reason to use hireable randos. Which is a real shame, cause making randos in rpgs rules.
So yeah, this run is on True Zenoira mode, so that's permadeath to all troopers in an unit that falls entirely in battle. And im playing with the following additional restrictions:
Only every using hireable mercs. Any story units must be left at the nearest garrison as soon as possible, or otherwise kept away from combat. Technically this run only starts after the first side mission, the one where you get Rolf, cause only then do you get up to D rank and can actually hire anyone at forts.
No grinding missions. I can do the phantom fight stages, but only once. Makes it so I can't ensure an endless amount of resources.
No going back in saves and if I game over then the run is over. Makes it so I actually gotta value every single soldier I have, and if I lose them it's a big hit to the army as a whole. And this makes corne ashes a massively important resource, since they can actually stop me from game overing if my fort gets captured or I run out of time on a mission.
Story wise, this is the anti royalism run. Prince Alain may be the figurehead, but the snot nosed punk wouldn't in a million years actually step on a battlefield to free Fevrith. This is about the common working men of the liberation army getting it done! Let's meet the crew.
Tumblr media
Germain. A veteran town militiaman. Thought himself too old to fight back against the empire, but after seeing too much of their opression for too long, he had to take a stand. A lot of the common soldiers in the liberation army rally behind him, much to his irriation.
Tumblr media
Florine. A young gal who's lived a good half of her whole life under Zenoiran opression, which has only stoked her want to free her home from it. Very peppy and cheerful, which keeps the moral up when she's around. Kinda thinks of Germain as an uncle of sorts, though no actual relation.
Tumblr media
Guy. A tough and stern man who used to work as a bodyguard for a local lord. Looking for revenge for the said lord, after he was murdered by Zenoiran's for opposing their rule. Rumored to have been lovers with the lord in question.
Tumblr media
Odo. A woodsman who has lived all his life in farthest ass end of a forest. He had no idea that someone had taken over the world, until just recently when he came over to town for some milk for the first time in ten years.
Tumblr media
Nils. Definitely not a Zenoiran spy. No sir.
Tumblr media
Armand. A professional soldier who had accepted the new zenoiran rule initially, but his family was torn apart by the new taxes and unjust laws and such, so he picked the side of the liberation.
Tumblr media
Sébastien. An extremely cowardly and sulky young knight. He kept getting unwanted advances by a Zenoira aligned noblewoman, and when he kept refusing she had him branded as a criminal. To not have to be on the run for the rest of his life, he now reluctantly fights for the liberation.
First actual mission with our army here was the one against Bruno. Went fairly smoothly, although Germaine, Florine and Guys unit got caught offguard at one point, so I had to use a revival orb. Provoke is good at getting archers out of watchtowers, but do it too far and they'll just run right back as it turns out. The importance of archer support became pretty evident right away. No casualties.
Afterwards hired two more soldiers for a dedicated anti cavalry unit.
Tumblr media
Artemisia. A warrior of justice. She won't say anything more about herself.
Tumblr media
Maxim. Comes from a long line of spear guard guys, the types that stand around doorways and cross their spears when someone tries to enter without permission. Zenoira does not use the treasured method of sentry-dom, which is why he and his whole family is rising to action against the empire.
Tumblr media
Ended it here for now. Very fun so far, glad to be thinking much more about resource management, though im sure it will start to grind my gears the bigger the army and fights get.
I'll keep up updates about this... if this gets any engagement, I guess.

Doritos Tangy Ketchup Review
Tumblr media
I heard about these from a friend and as a known ketchup lover, I had to go check them out. I checked a few stores near me, and luckily I was able to get my hands on a bag (also managed to get the Hot Mustard ones too, but those will get their own review). They were apparently initially released in September 2022 but this is the first I'd heard of them - I haven't paid a lot of attention to new chip releases since the 2013 Lay's Do Us A Flavor campaign ended in such a fiasco. (Those Chicken and Waffles chips were disgusting.)
Anyway, I digress. Onto the chips.
The ketchup taste is a bit subdued at first, and as with all Doritos there were some chips that were inconsistently dressed with the powdered flavoring. It took me a few chips before I could really taste the ketchup flavor, which is prominent, surprisingly rich, and complements the corn chip flavor quite well. I was a little worried that it would be an odd mix, but Frito-Lay has done a great job.
It's a typical Dorito, so nothing to be said about the chip part. Ketchup chip enjoyers may liken these to Herr's Ketchup Potato Chips, or to the long-gone Ketchup flavored Lay's (gone from the United States, but forever in our hearts). However, these have a bit of a bold and rich take on ketchup. It's not Heinz or Hunt's or Red Gold, it's your weird cousin's artisan homemade ketchup cooked slow and with extra spices. The garlic and onion flavors are at the forefront along with the tomato flavor, and after eating a few chips a surprise heat starts to sizzle. It's not THAT spicy (I'm a white guy) but it's noticeable. Toward the end of the bite the sweet flavor really hits, and then on the way down the spice lingers along with the classic corn chip flavor.
I can't stop eating them. These are absolutely fucking incredible and I'm considering buying a bulk order if I can. 10/10.

About Alewife Brewing Alewife Brewing is a small batch brewery located in the heart of the Sunnyside section of Queens, NY. We focus on brewing traditional and innovative styles of beer, using only the finest ingredients. Our goal is to provide a unique and enjoyable drinking experience for all who visit our taproom.
Alewife Brewing has fallen in love with the stories of ancient times and the roles women had in society. The peace they emulated through their beliefs and love towards nature and all species has inspired us to capture their magic in our beers and on our 16 oz. can labels. The latest historical findings suggest that wine was not the oldest elixir, but in fact, beer mixed with psychedelic substances used in shamanistic ceremonies dating back much further. Gathered and formulated, the Alewives were the makers of both spiritual and medicinal potions.
Through our journeys thus far in life, we’ve developed a deep love for ancient elixirs while brewing and traveling to learn ancient and modern techniques for exceptional beers brewed at our new home in Sunnyside, Queens.
Don't worry, it's just beer we make, no special additions!

The Perfect Samosa: A Golden Delight in Every Bite
Few snacks evoke the love, nostalgia, and pure joy that a hot, crispy samosa can bring. This triangular pastry, filled with a savory potato-based filling, has carved a niche for itself in the world of street food and café culture alike. Whether you’re munching on it with a cup of chai on a rainy day or sharing it as an appetizer at a gathering, samosas have an undeniable charm that unites food lovers worldwide.
A Brief History of the Samosa
The origin of the samosa dates back several centuries and crosses various cultural boundaries. It’s believed that the samosa traveled from the Middle East to India via traders and merchants during the medieval period. Originally known as "sambusak" in Persia, it was a small, meat-filled pastry. As it traveled to India, it adapted to local flavors and ingredients, ultimately transforming into the spiced potato-filled delicacy we know today. Now, it’s found in various forms across South Asia and beyond, making it an international snack superstar.
Ingredients and Filling: The Heart of a Samosa
While the outer shell of the samosa, made from a simple dough of flour and water, plays a crucial role in its crunchy texture, the filling is what truly makes a samosa unforgettable. The most traditional filling is a mix of potatoes, green peas, and spices. Potatoes are boiled and mashed with aromatic spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala. Fresh ginger, green chilies, and chopped cilantro are added for a touch of heat and freshness, while green peas offer a sweet contrast to the spice.
Over time, innovative fillings have emerged. Popular alternatives include:
Paneer Samosa: With soft Indian cottage cheese cubes.
Keema Samosa: Spiced ground meat, usually lamb or chicken.
Cheese and Corn Samosa: A gooey, cheesy option that’s popular among kids.
Sweet Samosa: Filled with coconut, sugar, and nuts, often served during festivals.
How to Make the Perfect Samosa
Making samosas from scratch can be a rewarding experience, though it requires a bit of patience. Here’s a basic guide to creating this crispy treat:
Prepare the Dough: Mix all-purpose flour with a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of oil or ghee. Gradually add water to form a stiff dough, knead it well, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Prepare the Filling: In a pan, sauté cumin seeds in oil, then add boiled and mashed potatoes, green peas, ginger, green chilies, and spices. Mix everything well, adjust the seasoning, and let it cool.
Assemble the Samosa: Divide the dough into small balls, roll each ball into an oval shape, and cut it in half. Form a cone with each half, fill it with the spiced potato mixture, and seal the edges with a little water.
Fry to Perfection: Deep-fry the samosas on medium heat until golden brown. This slow frying ensures that the crust is crispy and not greasy.
Why We Love Samosas: Versatile, Shareable, and Delicious
What makes the samosa such a beloved snack is its versatility. Samosas can be served as a snack, an appetizer, or even as part of a main meal. They are perfect for any occasion—be it a festive gathering, a picnic, or just a cozy evening at home. Plus, samosas are easily customizable. Vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters can all find a version that suits their preferences.
Samosas also have a unique, shareable quality. A plate of samosas with chutneys on the side (such as mint chutney or tamarind chutney) is an invitation to gather, talk, and enjoy. This small but mighty snack brings people together, uniting them with the promise of a satisfying, flavor-packed bite.
Where to Find the Best Samosa
In India, samosas are available at almost every corner, from street vendors to upscale restaurants. Internationally, you can find samosas at Indian restaurants, food trucks, and even supermarkets. Some places give their own twist to the classic, using regional ingredients or fusion flavors like taco-inspired fillings, pizza samosas, or even chocolate samosas!
Samosas Around the World
Interestingly, samosas have inspired similar snacks globally. You can find:
Sambusas in East Africa, especially in Ethiopia and Somalia.
Pastelitos in Latin America.
Empanadas in Spain and Latin American countries.
Each has its own unique twist, but they all share a similar concept: a delicious, stuffed pastry that’s perfect for snacking.
In Conclusion: A Classic Worth Savoring
The samosa, in all its crispy, savory goodness, is more than just a snack—it’s a symbol of joy, shared experiences, and culinary tradition. Whether you’re a fan of the classic potato filling or enjoy more experimental versions, there’s no denying the timeless appeal of this golden, stuffed delight. So, next time you crave a satisfying snack, grab a samosa, dip it in some tangy chutney, and savor the taste of a snack that’s traveled through time and across borders to bring us happiness, one bite at a time.

Buy Flavorful Hot Sauces in the USA: Spice Up Your Meals
A Rich History of Hot Sauce in America
Hot sauce has a long history in the United States, dating back to the early 1800s when Louisiana became known as a hub for spicy condiments. The original hot sauces were simple, typically made from chili peppers, vinegar, and salt. Over time, however, hot sauce recipes evolved, becoming more complex and creative. Today, you can find hot sauces in the USA that are made with exotic ingredients like fruit purees, smoky chipotles, and even chocolate.
The diversity of hot sauces available in America is a testament to the country's multicultural food scene, with influences from Mexican, Caribbean, Cajun, and Asian cuisines. Each region brings its own unique take on how heat should enhance a dish.
Types of Hot Sauces to Try
If you’re looking to buy flavorful hot sauces in the USA, Buy Flavor Hot Sauces in USA you’ll quickly notice that there’s no shortage of options. The sheer variety can be overwhelming, but understanding the different types of hot sauces can help narrow down your choices.
Louisiana-Style Hot Sauce: These are typically made with cayenne peppers, vinegar, and salt. They are tangy, with a moderate heat level, and are perfect for adding to dishes like gumbo, fried chicken, and pizza. Popular brands include Tabasco and Crystal Hot Sauce.
Sriracha: This Thai-inspired sauce is thicker and sweeter than Louisiana-style sauces. It's made from red jalapeños, garlic, sugar, and vinegar. Sriracha is often used as a condiment for Asian dishes, but it has found a place in American cuisine, drizzled over everything from burgers to scrambled eggs.
Tumblr media
Cholula: A staple in Mexican cuisine, Cholula is made from a blend of piquin and arbol peppers. It offers a smoky flavor with a mild-to-medium heat level. It's perfect for tacos, burritos, and any dish that could use a little extra kick without overpowering the flavors.
Habanero-Based Hot Sauces: For heat lovers, habanero hot sauces are a must-try. They pack a serious punch but also have a fruity flavor that complements the heat. Brands like El Yucateco and Marie Sharp’s are known for their vibrant, zesty habanero sauces.
Specialty Hot Sauces: In recent years, Buy Spreads Online USA artisan and small-batch hot sauces have become more popular. These often incorporate unique ingredients such as mango, pineapple, or even ghost peppers. Many of these are sold through farmers' markets or online and offer complex flavor profiles for true spice connoisseurs.
Where to Buy Hot Sauces in the USA
There are countless places to buy hot sauces in the USA. Here are some options to consider:
Local Grocery Stores: Most supermarkets carry a wide selection of hot sauces. You’ll find everything from mainstream brands to specialty hot sauces.
Specialty Food Stores: For a broader selection, visit a store that specializes in gourmet foods or ethnic ingredients. These stores often stock lesser-known brands or regional hot sauces that you might not find in a typical grocery store.
Online Retailers: If you’re looking for a hot sauce with specific ingredients or from a particular region, shopping online can be the best option. Websites like Amazon and specialty retailers like Heat Hot Sauce Shop offer an extensive range of hot sauces from around the world.
Farmers Markets: Many small-batch hot sauce producers sell their products at farmers' markets. These sauces are often handmade and feature unique, locally sourced ingredients.
What to Look for When Buying Hot Sauce
When buying hot sauce, it's essential to think about the flavor profile you want and how much heat you can handle. Here are a few tips:
Check the Ingredients: Some hot sauces are loaded with preservatives or artificial flavors. Look for sauces that have natural ingredients and avoid anything with high fructose corn syrup if you want a purer flavor.
Heat Level: Not all hot sauces are created equal when it comes to heat. Check the Scoville rating, a measurement of pepper spiciness, if you're unsure of how hot a particular sauce will be. Start with a mild sauce if you're new to spicy food, then work your way up.
Flavor Over Heat: Just because a hot sauce is incredibly spicy doesn't mean it's flavorful. The best hot sauces balance heat with taste, so look for one that enhances your meal rather than overwhelms it.

Sue Bee Pure Honey Relaunches With New Look and New Logo
Tumblr media
Sue Bee Pure Honey, America's leading honey brand since 1921, recently unveiled the new look for its products during its Grand Relaunch held at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City. The delightful event captured the essence of a traditional American county fair which included games, cocktails, and indulgent dishes prepared using Sue Bee Honey.
Tumblr media
The exclusive launch event was held last July 5, 2024 at the Grand Ballroom of Grand Hyatt Manila. Global Strategic Partners Distribution Inc. (GSPDI), the exclusive distributor of Sue Bee Honey in the Philippines since 2000, also presented the new look of Sue Bee Pure Honey, a look that is fresh, exciting, and designed to captivate a new generation of consumers and honey lovers.
Tumblr media
The Sue Bee County Fair was hosted by Rovilson Fernandez, who also enlightened us with the history of the company. Sue Bee Honey's story began in 1921 in Sioux City, Iowa, when five beekeepers pooled their resources to form the Sioux Honey Association. Their collaboration has since grown into a cooperative of 200 beekeepers across the United States, many of whom have passed down their craft through generations. Today, the Sioux Honey Association is renowned for producing pure, high-quality 100% USA honey that customers around the world trust and love. GSPDI distributes various Sue Bee Honey variants, including Premium Pure Honey, Orange Blossom Pure Honey, and Aunt Sue’s Raw & Unfiltered Wildflower Honey.
Tumblr media
The festive County Fair atmosphere was enhanced by lively music, traditional county fair games, and captivating entertainment, creating an unforgettable experience reminiscent of a classic American town festival.
Tumblr media
I got to participate in some of the county fair games like the Crazy Ball Toss, the Bean Bag Toss, and even Tic-Tac-Toe. I also won prizes for winning some of the games.
Tumblr media
Guests were treated to free-flowing beverages and cocktails infused with Sue Bee Honey. There was Honey Lemon Iced Tea and Honey Lemonade for the non-alcoholic drinkers as well as mocktails like Sunset in the City with honey, pineapple, lemon, and grenadine.
Tumblr media
The cocktail selection included Bee's Knees with its combination of gin, honey, lemon, and martini. There was also the Air Mail which had rum, honey, lemon, and Prosecco, plus the Sue Green with its healthier combination of honey, green apple, cucumber, ginger ale in a highball glass.
Tumblr media
Joining us at the table were our friends from the media including Anton Diaz of Our Awesome Planet, Gerry San Miguel aka Dude For Food, Philip Cu-unjieng from Manila Bulletin, and our host Sunny Ku of Mastermind Asia Communications Inc.
Tumblr media
The launch featured an array of food stations serving traditional American dishes, each thoughtfully crafted to showcase the versatility and rich flavors of Sue Bee Honey. The Pizza station featured its Pepperoni Pizza and Quattro Formaggi Pizza slices which were perfectly topped with Sue Bee Pure Honey.
Tumblr media
There were also plenty of Char-Grilled Beef Burgers made with Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, pickled gherkins and honey relish smothered between freshly baked brioche buns. You can also get the Chicken Burger instead if you prefer chicken patties.
Tumblr media
I loved these Crispy Fish Fingers served together with French Fries. It really felt like an American town party with all the delicious American food.
Tumblr media
My favorite dish at the Sue Bee Country Fair was the 78 Hours Slow Cooked Beef Brisket with bourbon honey barbecue sauce. These were smokey and juicy, just the way I like my barbecues. They were served with Char-Grilled Corn on the Cob with spiced cream cheese.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Another popular item was the Southern Style Honey Barbecue Char-Grilled Chicken in Skewers. It's so easy to grab and eat these skewers so I did go back for seconds.
Tumblr media
Then there's the Mango Wood-Smoked Barbecue Pork Ribs in Cajun honey glaze which was the centerpiece of the buffet stations. These humungous ribs are doused in a very yummy Sue Bee honey glaze that is just perfect for them.
Tumblr media
For desserts, guests were able to try several sweet treats like the Sue Bee Honey Yogurt Tart and the Sue Bee Honey Dalandan Cake.
Tumblr media
Other desserts on the table included the Sue Bee Honey and Orange Cake and the Sue Bee Honey Florentine Cake. All these items were made using Sue Bee Pure Honey so they really tasted awesome.
Tumblr media
Aside from all the food stations displayed at the County Fair, there were also some fun games played on stage for eager participants. There was an eating challenge where the fastest to finish their ribs and burger plate wins. A raffle was also held with several prizes awarded to lucky winners.
