Birthday greetings to our very own Maggie O'Connell, who's turning the corner on the big 3-0 tomorrow. It's an important marker on life's journey. Leaving youth, entering the middle way. Safe passage, Mary Margaret.

I got me a little milestone of my own happening here. My engineer license came in. I've been working the board in your ears for, what, two, three years, now? Now I got me a real, genuine certificate that says I know how. Does it matter? I don't know yet.

so I've been watching northern exposure for what I think is probably the first time since I was a kid and. yeah okay. this show explains a lot about how I turned out as a person lmao

Northern Exposure 6x15 (The Quest*) aired exactly 30 years ago today (airdate : February 8, 1995). Feel old yet ?

“In a perfect world, we could have ended the show when Fleischman left and it could have been a beautiful, wonderful ending,” said Turner, who played bush pilot Maggie O’Connell, the doctor’s on-again, off-again romantic interest. “We can just throw the last nine [episodes] away, as far as I’m concerned.”

*The one where Joel Fleischman finally left the town of Cicely after spending 5 years in Alaska, and is therefore considered by some to be the true ending of the show (at least much more than the S6 finale), just like the season 5 finale (were Joel admits that he's a Cicelian).
