https://bit.ly/4oHNipo Press Release As announced in November, 2024 Boundary Bay Brewery and Bistro will be closing its doors at the end of September after 30 years in business. Since this announcement, Boundary Bay has been approached by other breweries about the possibility of using their unique recipes to contract brew the iconic beer and keep the Boundary Bay brand available to customers. After carefully exploring the options, Boundary Bay has decided to move forward with Black Raven Brewery in Woodinville, Washington to brew three of its most popular flagships and select seasonals. Citing their years-long, trusted friendship with Black Raven’s owner, Beaux Bowman and Black Raven’s state of the art brewing facility in Woodinville, Boundary Bay owners say this is an exciting and perfect fit. Black Raven Brewery says they are honored, “The Black Raven family is super excited to brew with our friends from Boundary Bay Brewing and continue their legacy forward. Beaux has known and respected Ed and Janet since his early days in the industry in the early 2000’s. For the past decade, Boundary Bay has partnered with family-owned Walton Beverage to distribute their beer into the market. Janet Lightner, Boundary Bay Brewery’s General Manager says, “While Black Raven will be brewing our Boundary recipes, we’re grateful that another valued business partner of ours will be responsible for distributing the beer to our Boundary customers.” Walton Beverage will continue to service all existing Boundary Bay accounts, assuring the legacy and continued growth of Boundary Bay for decades to come. “Walton Beverage Company has been honored to distribute Boundary Bay beer and we are thrilled to continue stalking the stores with this 30 year legendary brand. Mother Earth Brewing re-enters the Portland market with limited distribution.
https://bit.ly/4keyMBQ image courtesy Mother Earth Brewing Company Press Release Vista, CA & Nampa, ID … After a brief hiatus, Mother Earth Brew Co. is making its return to the Portland market later this month. The re-entry is a strategic trial run, with the brewery offering limited quarterly drops of fresh beer at select craft retailers throughout the metro area. Mother Earth’s re-launch can be largely attributed the release of an upcoming collaboration IPA with Portland legacy brand, Breakside Brewery, opening the door to forge a new partnership with local distributorship, Maletis Beverage. Mother Earth’s catalogue won’t be limited to just specialty brews though, according to its Sales and Distribution Manager, Kylee Souders: “We’re taking a thoughtful, strategic approach by timing our market re-entry around limited-time offerings paired with a few core brands, aiming to bring Portland fans a curated mix of our award-winning beers. We’re currently planning quarterly drops with the long-term goal of returning to full-time distribution. We couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead, and for the chance to serve the Portland craft beer community again." The brewery views this new opportunity as a chance to reconnect with loyal customers that have been missing Mother Earth’s presence since its departure, while also introducing its beers to a new generation of craft drinkers in Oregon. Distribution of package and draft will be limited to key independent off-premise craft retailers and tap rooms while supplies last. Customers in the Portland metro area looking for Mother Earth brews are urged to search near them using Mother Earth’s beer finder at motherearthbrewco.com. # # # About Mother Earth Mother Earth Brew Co. develops hand crafted artisanal ales in year-round, as well as seasonal and specialty offerings. Mother Earth Brewing and Oregon brewery Breakside Brewery collaborate to release Collaboration IPA.
https://bit.ly/44omh1N image sourced from Mother Earth Brewing Company Press Release At Mother Earth, we’ve always believed that collaboration is at the heart of what makes craft beer so special. It’s more than just getting two breweries together to slap their names on a can - it’s about sharing ideas, learning from each other, and creating something that neither of us would’ve come up with on our own. That spirit is exactly what drove our latest project: a brand-new IPA brewed in collaboration with our friends at Breakside Brewing. If you’re not familiar with Breakside, they’re one of the most respected breweries in the Pacific Northwest - creative, technical, and not afraid to color outside the lines. We’ve admired their work for a long time, so when the opportunity came up to brew something together, we jumped at it. The result is a bright, expressive IPA brewed with a killer combo of Superdelic™, Krush™, and Citra® hops. Flavor-wise, this one’s all about fruit—passionfruit, grapefruit, white grape, and tropical vibes for days. It’s juicy and aromatic without being overly sweet, with just enough bite to keep things crisp and drinkable. Working with Breakside felt natural from the start. We both value balance and drinkability, but we’re also obsessed with exploring new hop varieties and layering in complexity. Superdelic and Krush are two newer hops that are still flying under the radar for a lot of drinkers, and pairing them with the always-reliable Citra gave us a whole new range of flavors to play with. As our Head Brewer Matt Watterson put it: “We wanted this beer to feel like a fresh tropical breeze with just the right amount of complexity. Working with Breakside gave us a chance to experiment with some really expressive hops. Superdelic and Krush are still under the radar for most drinkers, and pairing them with Citra made for this super vibrant, high-toned fruit character that we’re really proud of.” At its core, this beer is a testament to the collaborative spirit that defines the craft beer industry—a space where competition often takes a back seat to camaraderie, shared learning, and a mutual drive to elevate the art form. “Collaborations like this one give brewers the opportunity to exchange ideas, and challenge each other to keep innovating.” Watterson continued: “They’re a chance to learn something new, geek out over hops, and create something special. That’s the magic of it.” Thirsty? Get it first at one of our tap rooms on Saturday, June 21st at our summer kickoff parties or early access for Insider members on Friday the 20th. This choice summer brew will be hitting retail shelves and taps soon in 16oz cans and draft across our distribution footprint. Keep an eye out at your favorite spots, or check our beer finder to track it down and visit our Limited page for more info on other annual releases. We’re stoked for you to try this one, not just because it tastes amazing, but because it represents everything we love about craft beer—the friendships, the creativity, and the joy of sharing something new with people who love beer as much as we do. from Northwest Beer Guide - Beer News - The Northwest Beer Guide https://bit.ly/44n6oIW

Now open in the Downtown Seattle neighborhood Reuben's Brews newest taproom.
https://bit.ly/4lbja2P Just in time for FIFA's Club World Cup, Reuben's Brews has opened their latest location in Seattle's Downtown neighborhood. Barely a week open, the brewery's latest opening showcases their focus on locally produced beers, ciders, seltzers, and food. “It still seems like yesterday that Grace and I were opening our original taproom and brewery in an industrial part of Ballard,” says co-founder Adam Robbings. “What pushed us to take the leap into professional brewing at the time were the emails from bars asking about our award-winning homebrews. And now, almost 13 years later, it makes us so happy to be able to serve our beers—along with an expanded food menu—to so many more people in the heart of Seattle.” Open from 11 am till 10 pm, daily, the new "Downtown Taproom" has already celebrated the opening with a hard seltzer cocktail program, giveaways, merchandise, and a house-beer, of sorts, in Downtown Debut fruit-inspired IPA. Near the Pike Place Market, at 1201 First Avenue, the Downtown Taproom is accessible from the nearby transit tunnel, surface transit, along with nearby public parking. Patrons will find multiple televisions broadcasting Seattle sports, 28 unique beers from the brewery on draft, and familiar and unique food menu items. Love their Emerald City Hot Chicken sandwich or their vegan Reuben on marbled rye? Look for it at the Downtown Taproom. But if you're looking for something new, how about grilled fish tacos or crispy Brussel sprouts in sweet chili lime glaze? And for those with a sweet tooth, the brewery has infused their Robust Porter to make a chocolate sauce that goes well with their funnel straws. Either on your way to or from a stadium or ballpark experience, Reuben's Brews' Downtown Taproom invites you to stop by. Visit reubensbrews.com for more information about this and other locations, including their 14th Avenue taproom. About Reuben’s Brews At our family brewery in Seattle, Reuben’s Brews offers something for everyone. Named after our co-founders’ first-born child, we brew from the glass backward, designing each beer with intention, unbound by constraints. Because the extra effort is worth it. From your everyday favorites to our innovative new releases, our goal is to make your day just that little bit better. *special thanks to Reuben's Brews for the photos used throughout this article. from Northwest Beer Guide - Beer News - The Northwest Beer Guide https://bit.ly/45rsNpF

Elysian hopes to be on your must-drink Summer list with some Lemon Blonde Ale

Taking the plunge on something that doesn't end in the word Dust, Elysian Brewing Company sought to define the beer for spring and summer. The result? How about Lemon Daydream?
With an American Blonde Ale base, Lemon Daydream has a medium body, yet comes across as sparkling with notes of lemon zest, candied citrus, and some tropical papaya.
Out of the can, Lemon Daydream produces an initial shaving cream-white head, resting on a pool of golden haziness. Receding quickly, there remains nothing inside the glass in the way of lacing.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of tropical papaya, lemon zest citrus, and some honey.
Sipping, those same flavors carry over along with some herbal tea, and some flaked oat character. Overall, Lemon Daydream has a mild mouthfeel, some alcoholic warmth, and a lingering, albeit subtle, bitterness on the palate.

And at 6.8%, it’s still refreshing and quaffable as we welcome summer.” The full list of Von Ebert Brewing’s 2025 collaborations with the fellow award-winning breweries follows with three more to come later this year: Fort George Brewery, Astoria, Oregon (February) Russian River Brewing Company, Santa Rosa, California (April) ISM Brewing, Long Beach, California (June) Green Creek Beer Co., Orange, California (August) Shred Beer Company, Rocklin, California (October) Cloudburst Brewing, Seattle, Washington (December) Von Ebert Brewing recently opened its new N. Mississippi location (825 N. Cook St., Portland) to expand production and distribution from 4,000 barrels per year to as much as 20,000 barrels per year. This has allowed Von Ebert Brewing to sell more of its offerings in 12-ounce cans including: Volatile Substance NW IPA, Sector 7 Hazy IPA, Pils a German-style Pilsner and Clubhaus Lager. Other seasonal offerings and collaborations will also be on draft and in 16oz cans at the new location. ### Von Ebert Brewing was founded in 2018 by Tom M. Cook and Tom S. Cook in Portland, Oregon. Von Ebert Brewing is named after the family matriarch lovingly refer to as “Grandma Ebert.” The quintessential immigrant story, Grandma Ebert came to America from Germany via Ellis Island and relied on her grit and determination to create a successful life for her family here in the states. In that vein, the brewery has displayed those same traits and gained success through numerous World Beer Cup medals: 2025 Gold American Light Lager with Clubhaus, 2023 Gold German-Style Pilsner with Pils and 2024 Bronze Vienna Lager. Our moniker celebrates Grandma’s tenacity and honors our heritage. Von Ebert translates loosely to “House of Ebert” or in full English, “House of the Boar.” from Northwest Beer Guide - Beer News - The Northwest Beer Guide https://bit.ly/3Fyiwxm

Breweries Maritime Pacific and Rooftop invite you to see George and Jane Hancock off June 1st at The Jolly Roger Taproom.
https://bit.ly/3HmV5HF Over a month since Rooftop Brewing Company and Maritime Pacific Brewing Company joined together, allowing Maritime Pacific owners, Jane and George Hancock, and the question has been answered - June 1st. What is June 1st? That’s the day for anyone and everyone who supported, imbibed, or stopped by Maritime Pacific Brewing Company, during the 35-year that George and Jane owned one of the oldest breweries in Ballard. It’s also an opportunity for you to stop by the Jolly Roger Taproom, unlike the waning days of the last weekend in March, to see both former owners off as they start their retirement. Announced via Press Release, from co-owner and General Manager of Rooftop Brewing Company and Maritime Pacific Brewing Company, Craig Christian, the taproom is hosting an event from 4 pm to 8 pm at The Jolly Roger Taproom, at 1111 NW Ballard Way in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood. For those who missed the previous announcement, we’ve included that below. At two unique crossroads, Maritime Pacific Brewing Company hands over the reins to Rooftop Brewing Company And, for a complete copy of the Press Release, we’ve included that below as well. “Away to the cheating world go you, where pirates all are well-to-do; but I'll be true to the song I sing, and live and die a Pirate King!” - The Pirate King George Hancock is the Pirate King of the craft beer world. There will never be another. George and his wife Jane were pioneers in the Seattle craft brew scene, having opened Maritime Pacific Brewing in 1990. Serving unique and innovative beers for many years, George and Jane moved from their original Ballard location to the current brewery, tap room and restaurant in 2010. With delicious brands such as Old Seattle Lager, Islander Pale Ale and the iconic Seattle seasonal, the Jolly Roger Christmas Ale, George and Jane have been an essential part of Seattle’s craft beer history for a generation. Their beer has been a staple of Seattle’s bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and bottle shops for more than three decades. Thirty-five years is the equivalent of multiple lifetimes in the craft beer world. Peers such as Bert Grant’s, Pyramid and Hale’s Ales have long since disappeared and brands such as Elysian or Redhook have sold and are no longer brewed locally. When George and Jane started Maritime Pacific, they were just the 13th brewery license issued by Washington State. There have been hundreds and hundreds since, many of which have since closed. There is a reason Maritime Pacific persevered – George and Jane Hancock! The longevity of George and Jane is due as much for their “brewed with imagination” ales as the incredible community that they have brought together over 35 years. The Jolly Roger Taproom has always been a gathering place for families and good friends to share stories over a deliciously brewed beer and a slider or two with some smoked onion rings, with many thanks to George and Jane’s generosity and warm spirit. We invite the community to join with us on Jun 1, 2025, from 4-8pm at the Jolly Roger Taproom in celebration of George and Jane Hancock’s retirement as well as their incredible and lasting contribution to craft beer. Let’s all wish them Fair Wind and Following Seas. Enjoy an afternoon of live music, cigars, scallywags and swashbuckling special guests, old school OG beers and lots of community. George and Jane will be in attendance and look forward to seeing old friends and new. We hope to see you on June 1st! from Northwest Beer Guide - Beer News - The Northwest Beer Guide https://bit.ly/3FqPTC0

Double Mountain Brewery & Cidery releases 1904 IPA. A celebratory seasonal in honor of Goschie Farms.
https://bit.ly/43esOdJ image courtesy Double Mountain Brewery & Cidery Press Release Double Mountain Brewery & Cidery is proud to announce the release of 1904 IPA, a seasonal beer brewed in collaboration with the legendary Goschie Farms of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. This new IPA is a heartfelt tribute to the roots of Pacific Northwest hop farming, and to the people who have cultivated its legacy for generations. The name 1904 IPA honors the year Goschie Farms began growing hops on their historic plot of land, though the farm itself dates back even further to 1885. Goschie Farms has played a major role in shaping the American beer scene; once growing the majority of hops used by large-scale brewers before pivoting to support the rise of craft beer in the early 2000s. “As brewers, it’s incredibly rewarding to know exactly where our ingredients come from,” says Matt Swihart, Double Mountain Owner and Brewmaster. “We had a blast heading out to Goschie Farms and seeing the care, intention, and innovation that goes into every hop cone. Being this close to world-class ingredients is something we don’t take for granted.” 1904 IPA features a lineup of classic hop varieties; Cascade, Centennial, and Fuggle, all grown at Goschie Farms. A touch of Simcoe from nearby Woodburn, Oregon provides a clean bittering foundation, while a final dry hop with Cryo Pop amplifies notes of citrus and pine. Brewed with Goschie’s own home-grown barley and crafted with a nod to both tradition and modern technique, 1904 IPA is crisp, clean, bright, and dry; an old-school IPA with a new-school touch. Beyond producing exceptional hops and grains, Goschie Farms is Salmon-Safe certified, practicing sustainable farming techniques including micro-irrigation, cover cropping, and bee habitat integration to protect local water systems and ecosystems. Gayle Goschie is a matriarch of the hop community and continues to give talks at Master Brewers Association of Americas conferences and other beer events around the world. Swihart adds, “We’re incredibly lucky to brew here, surrounded by such talent, heritage, and hop history. Drink it up.” Seen here is some of the Goschie Farms crew, including Gayle Goschie on the left, current President of the farm, and Grandfather Carl on the right, who planted the first hops in 1904. GOSCHIE FARMS 1904 IPA 6.2% Alc/Vol | 70 BU Goschie Farms has been a pillar of the brewing community for over 100 years. We chose to use their Cascade, Centennial, and Fuggle hops, along with their Pure Oregon Malt. Crisp and balanced, this IPA will remind you of where IPAs came from 1904 IPA is available now on draft and in 500ml refillable bottles at all Double Mountain locations.
