#polls#I’ve had bacon on the mind#it’s not the same if you cook bacon in an oven instead of in a pan#great for large batches though#it’s still good but it’s still best when cooked in a pan#I will stab anyone that so much as thinks about cooking bacon in a microwave#and I mean putting raw bacon in the microwave it’s nasty#I will never forgive that one relative for doing so#rambling in the tags

Working the morning cook shift from today to thursday and tbh its super chill. I get to just cook shit and throw everything into the oven and get paid more than i do when aiding (which 'has me' running around the kitchen and facility) [sidenote but yaaayyyyy more work talk!! /sar]
#my only meat cooking expertise is putting bacon in the oven#and tbh im kinda leaning on tbe oven as a crutch but it works#and with the right spices?#havent gotten any complaints yet this#week so-#oven sweep#the only thing is that i have to wake up at 3am but i get out at like 1-2 so#(unless if im doing a double)#also 'have to' is in quotations bc i *could#* just stay in the kitchen but i love interacting w the residents waaay too much#and even though ive been told to take it easy and stay within the kitchen#the only way ill stop ibteraxting with everyone is if i#get fired but im too sexy and beloved and unfirable#to get fired#these tags are a huge L for the fat#finger community im so sorry#love being the workplace fa#fav*#also sidenote butlike#not gonna go into detail but my absolute fav resident passed 3 days ago andlike#as much as i have sobbed for them im really glad they passed while i was still working#i miss them so fuccking much tho and they inspired me to smile more for others#SO MUCH#also they were suffering and for their wellbeing shouldve passed like last year

easy low-mess easy to cook perfect bacon
put a large piece of cooking parchment on a baking pan
lay out bacon a single layer only on the pan
cover bacon with another layer of paper
bake at 400°F/200°C for 20 minutes
remove top paper, turn bacon over, put paper back on
cook another 10+ minutes until you like the results - bacon will continue to cook some when you take it out of the oven until you remove it from the pan
remove bacon and lay on racks or paper towels
pour bacon grease into a container for storage or disposal, do not pour down the drain or you'll regret it
we use the bacon fat in some cooking and also to season our cast iron cookware
these directions are for thick-sliced bacon, standard thin stuff probably reduce to 15+5 minutes

Headcanon #1 - King Daniel Aidan Phantom of the Infinite Realms
After Danny is crowned King of the Infinite Realms he technically gets a third form, it's more of an outfit change but there are also more drastic changes to his features. Well his hair is still closer to white than black it does get a slight gray tinge to it, the whites of his eyes go black, his ears are more elf like and his canines and teeth in general are sharper. His skin is more of a dull ghostly shade, if he were to have something without sleeves on it would be very apparent that the Lichtenberg scars running up his arm from the accident that killed him glowing a dull toxic green color like his eyes and that fact is slightly noticeable where they peak up over his collar.
He also now is wearing a cape that is fur lined that was given to him by Frostbite, the crown of fire floats above his head however it has changed with its new owner and now is more ice like an appearance and he also has the Ring of Rage on his right hand but that as well has changed an appearance to be more simplistic. He also has armor on his arms that are more guards than actual armor and only cover the outside of his arms and are held on by straps, as well as a sword gifted to him by Pandora when he was crowned that very clearly ties into his more ice based powers and hangs at his hip.

there is no flavour combination more comfortingly autumnal that apple + bacon + sharp cheddar (bonus points if you add chicken and/or dijon mustard) but apparently mashed potato destroys it

This savory tart has caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and tangy blue cheese on top of a flaky puff pastry crust. It's the perfect mix of flavors.
Ingredients: 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed. 2 large onions, thinly sliced. 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled. 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar. 1 teaspoon brown sugar. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 400F 200C. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add thinly sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 20-25 minutes. Stir in balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to fit a baking sheet. Place the rolled-out pastry on the baking sheet. Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the puff pastry. Sprinkle crumbled bacon and blue cheese over the caramelized onions. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!

Literally gonna cry this sandwich tastes really bad 🥺
#i was gonna make my specialty#pancakes bacon egg#i put the stupid idiot bacon in the oven and i go to make the egg and pancake#then i find that we are out of pancake mix :((((#but i cant just cancel this meal the bacon is halfway cooked#and i cant just like have egg and bacon without the pancake the pancake is the bulk of the meal its the filling part#so i begrudgingly decide ill just use the bacon and make a sandwich with the bottom of the barrel ingredients#lettuce thats going bad and burnt ass bread#and some okay turkey and cheese and because i have no faith i put some spicy doritos in it#it can be a kickass sandwich on a good day but today it just. felt wrong#i go through phases with sandwiches and rn i hate those guys i never wanna see them again#also my mother is away for a few days so its just me and my dad here and cat is gone so its really tense and awkward#oooogh i hate it i mostly just put in my headphones and aggressively cleaned the house and went out for a bit to avoid him#at least he hasnt started lecturing me about how im a failure and need jesus. yet

Yo idk what it is but I’ve been SO hungry the past couple days. I just had dinner and I’m considering making a whole nother portion

Bagel Breakfast Slider
Chef’s Note: They are a bit messy to eat, but they taste nice.
Ingredients
Cooking spray, for pan
8 eggs
1/4 cup milk
8 slices bacon
kosher salt
2 tbsp finely chopped chives
10 mini bagels, halved
4 tbsp cream cheese, softened
1 to 1 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
~2 tsp dried onion
~1 tsp garlic powder
~1 tsp sesame seeds
(opt.) ~1/2 tsp poppy seeds
Instructions
0. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a large baking dish with cooking spray.
1. In a large bowl, beat eggs and milk until light and frothy. Set aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Remove slices from pan to drain on paper towels. Pour out most of the bacon fat but leave about 1 tablespoon in the skillet.
3. Pour egg mixture in skillet then immediately turn down heat to medium-low. Stir occasionally with a spatula or wooden spoon. When the eggs are nearly set, season with salt and stir in chives. Remove from heat.
4. Spread cream cheese onto the bottom halves of the bagels. Place bagel halves in the greased baking dish, side by side.
5. Spread egg mixture over bagels.
6. Crumble cooked bacon on top.
7. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
8. Add the bagel tops.
9. Brush the bagel tops with melted butter and sprinkle with dried onion, garlic powder, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds.
10. Bake until the bagels are toasty and the cheese has melted, about 10 minutes. Serve warm.
