My body just suddenly decided at some point that I can no longer eat my literal favourite vegetables (tomato and bell pepper), or salami, or cheese, or white bread without Fucking Dying :( (I still eat them though lmfao)
GOD I FEEL YOU SO MUCH 😭 i can't eat too much chocolate (literally one of my favourite foods) because It Causes More Acid but something i found out is how i literally am NOT ALLOWED to eat noodles because of their spices
so like. in summer of this year my gerd worsened significantly (that's when i found out i had gerd even tho i had symptoms for years) because i used to eat a lot of noodles and my gerd got worse to the point i used to cough because of it so like. i had to stop. and with pantoprazole it suddenly got better
THEN i tried eating 1 cup of noodles in mid september cus i was like. well it has been a while and i don't cough anymore and i'm on pantoprazole so i can eat one right. WRONG! I COUGHED THAT NIGHT! anyways yeah fuck gerd sorry for the ramble Why Can't Our Stomach Just Be Normal Gang

Another good thing to check for talkers is when they last had a visitor and if there is anyone on their file you can call to say "Hey, [patient name] is getting a little bored and lonely and unfortunately I can only spend a few minutes with them each shift. Next time you visit, could you bring them a book/hobby item to help them pass the time?"
Because while Grandma or whoever has been in hospital for months, life continues for everyone outside and sometimes that phone call is a necessary reminder to their connections that that person isn't just powered down like a robot for maintenance.
One of the stranger things about training brand new nurses is explaining how to min max small talk. It feels very weird to coach people on how to chat.

do any of my other mental ill girlies ever think "i wish i had a more productive mental illness" i can't even imagine being normal. i just wish i had a disease that made me funnier or more effective. i will never not have an eating disorder but the current flavor, the disorder du jour if you will, is the classic "binge/junkorexic" situation where i only eat food that has no nutritional value bc it's punishment for my horrible body. like if i ate a fruit and drank water, i might feel kind of good or have normal intestinal action, but if i only eat cheetos and mountain dew, my body will feel very sick and upset, and that's good and righteous bc i am evil and deserve to be punished. i would have made such a good nun bc i love routines and feeling like i was born evil
