Long story short, my old lady Athena went in for surgery to remove a suspected cancerous mass in her mouth and instead they found...

A small piece of headphone cable embedded into her jaw.

She has 3 teeth and she managed to pull this off. This is the only time I've heard a vet say "I've never seen anything like this before" and it be a good thing.

Please help a young disabled queer artist pay bills after pet loss

hello everyone. I recently had to say goodbye to my best friend in December and it has been really hard on me. I am about 7 thousand dollars in debt due to his medical care because he was hospitalized three times, and his ongoing treatments were expensive (I live in one of the most expensive states in the US and he had to be seen by specialists). I paid for most of his care and supplies with my leave benefits but I often fell short and had to use my credit cards. I have plenty of proof of my expenses in receipts and statements I can send.

I became unemployed right after losing my cat because my employer did not want to give me accommodations after my medical leave. I can't really get unemployment because my disabilities limit what jobs I can apply to. I'm also not eligible for cash assistance because I don't have children and I'm not applying for Social Security (they would limit me further).

I am hoping to get between $400-800 a month to stay on top of interest. I have to pay off as much I can of 3 thousand dollars by May because they will charge me interest after that.

Please help in any way you can, I know times are hard for many people so reblogging and sharing my GoFundMe anywhere you can would help a lot. With such a high goal I need a lot of reach.

I also have to pay $450 a month to keep my car so I'm open to digital and traditional art commissions if you're interested in that, please let me know. I enjoy making art of animals and animal characters and other nature subjects. I'd like to offer $1 per minute in 15-20 minute slots because I need to challenge myself to finish art more quickly.

These would be flat simplistic digital art pieces or ink/colored pencil drawings. More depth and complexity can be added with more time. You can go through "my art" tag on my blog to see some examples of what I make, I can't dig through stuff to attach them here currently. I can send more examples if you need them.

I don't think I posted my gouache pet portraits but that's something I like to do also. These would be a higher price, because they take longer. I would like to offer more in the future when I have things set up officially like sewing patterns and finished plushies or quilts so if you are interested in that, please follow me.

something I didn't expect with my cats kidney disease is how much she is peeing now, which is really horrible because she has 0 issues with peeing on just anything. She's the worst kind of fucking sprinkler. I have had three robotic litter boxes set up for her plus four stainless steel litter bins. exotic piss locations!! but fuck goddamn, the corner of the blanket that happens to be hanging off the couch looks really pissable 😼

one of the weird things about life expectancies in warrior cats stretching out as the series goes on is that lionblaze is 8 years old with adult grandchildren and showing no signs of age or even retiring, while yellowfang was depicted as old af when she died at the age of 8.

When the two sweet, adorable little kitten siblings come in for their s/n surgeries, but the pre-anesthetic blood work shows mild renal dysfunction, so you do a U/A and it's chockablock full of renal cells and no sign of infection, and then the doctor finds out their breed is predisposed to polycystic kidney disease...

The last time I went to the dentist my jaw was clicking and they were like oooh your jaw is noisy~~ and I was like yes I grind my teeth a lot, must be the stress.

Ever since I notice myself grinding my teeth, stop, then start doing it again as soon as I'm no longer paying attention :)

hi everyone, i'm in need of some help. i hate asking others for anything, but this is different. as it concerns my babygirl of 13 years, apple. this cat has been with me thru everything. my parent's divorce, horrendous bullying throughout junior high, a couple breakups, a svicide attempt, loss, and much more. she is my rock and i wouldn't be here today without her. she got diagnosed with "kidney failure" by a vet on friday, and they swarmed my boyfriend in the clinic and urged us to put her down. that she wouldn't make it a week. i wanted some more time with her, so i took her home that day. when we got home, i started to panic because i was scared she was suffering, and got my boyfriend to contact his family vet to put her down that same day instead. to spare her from suffering. however, as we were in the patient room, about to sedate her to put her down, the doctor came in and looked at the bloodwork we received from the other vet. he immediately stopped the euthanasia-procedure and explained to me that she was not in kidney failure. that she was about in stage 2 of chronic kidney disease, and that she did not need to be put down. apparently some vets refuse to help cats with CKD and insist that there is no hope and that they should be put down upon diagnosis. but he didn't want to do that. so now here we are, she's back home with me and being just-about her usual self. however, CKD is common in senior cats and apple has it. it cannot be cured, and it is terminal, but cats with CKD can live happy, normal lives if they are given treatment and special care. (i've done lots of reading since thursday-friday.) of course though, vet bills and special food for apple is going to be expensive. so i would like to ask, if you can afford to commission me, or if you would like to donate at all, please check out my ko-fi. it would mean the absolute world to me, my boyfriend, my family, and apple. thank you so very much for reading ♥. please don't feel obligated to do anything, just keep her in your thoughts for me.
