I saw a general surgeon yesterday to talk about getting my gallbladder removed. her scheduler will be contacting me early next week to get me set up on a wednesday sometime soon. I'm very reassured that I'll be in good hands because my surgeon seems super cool and spent plenty of time with me taking my history, examining me, explaining the procedure clearly, and answering my questions in detail. she even held off a nurse telling her she had a call from the local hospital 3 to 4 different times over 10 minutes just to make sure I fully understood everything. I'm very relieved to be in this surgeon's care.

also it is sooooo incredibly validating that she agrees my gallbladder needs to come out, because I had a huge headache with my previous primary care doc dismissing my concerns and not believing me. she actually had a history of invalidating and steamrolling me a few different times by that point, so while she did give me a surgery referral, it was very reluctant. she even said "I'm concerned about the use of medical resources here." I was like um okay??? lmfao bye bitch. so I switched my primary care over to my local tribal health center. I'd much rather receive regular care from my fellow indigenous folks anyway.

Good news! The new Covid-19 vacines are scheduled to be approved soon and could be available by Labor Day (or soon after). The CDC recommends updated shots for everyone 6 months and older.
