Since I saw some supplemental materials posted on a reblog browsing a blog and it's from a name that's blocked me... I'm again wondering "Why has this person blocked me???" Okay, there is someone in this fandom (not putting a name up here because I don't want to put them on the spot) who seems to know an awful lot about what Studio Orange is doing, they post a lot of concept-art. I don't know where they get it from - if they go to cons and snap photos of panels or if they do deep-dive searches or if the show bible is available in their country (they appear to be Russian or Russian-speaking while also English-speaking?) and it's stuff we don't get in the U.S.A. wherever it is gotten from, or where they are getting it from, but I do see their stuff reblogged from time to time on other people's blogs. It's the only way I can see it. I can't see this stuff even going to the Trigun tag because they have me blocked - and not just my Trigun-related sideblogs, but my main blog as well. (I do not know if this is because I listed my main blog somewhere or if I've mentioned my Trigun blogs on my main blog and have put stuff in the Trigun tag there before). Anyway, the fact that they have my main blocked and both of my Trigun blogs (I've found out when I've tried to reblog from them in the past and gotten a red-code and I can easily see who has blocked me if I go to replies and go to the drop-down on replies if they have an open reply-box) makes me think "Wow, this person must really hate me." - I haven't the foggiest idea why, either. I don't know what I said on any of my blogs to offend. I have to wonder if they were an OG fan back in "the day" who remembers me before I got medication and therapy / whacked over the head by life and was an objectively much shittier person (at least I hope I'm a much less shitty person today). Maybe there was a misunderstanding? Maybe I annoyed one of their friends? Gheez, I wonder if there's a callout post about me somewhere... (if so, if anyone has seen such, I'd like a chance to clear things up. Maybe a lot of untruth has been said about me. Maybe some things that were true but aren't anymore. Maybe some things stand, but if so, I'd like to be able to know, acknowledge and address). Then again, maybe I'm just banhammered because I am openly an older fan and some people think everyone over 30 should not be in fandom of any kind. Who knows? (My hyper-paranoia makes me worry "Are they on the Orange production crew to bring out all this info that they do every now and again? Did I somehow offend someone who works on the project? Am I even ALLOWED to be a fan? But then I take another look at what posts on reblogs I do see that has them theorizing and guessing as much as everyone else does, which means that they probably aren't and are just...somehow getting some concept-art). Bottom line: I want to know where to access this concept-art and translations of story-theory independent of tumblr and the occasional coming across it on tumblr. I don't want to be kept in the dark until I'm curiosity-browsing someone's art-blog and I see a reblog from "Oh, person whose blog is a Ghost Blog to me for reasons unknown." (Anyway, um, fuck you, too, buddy?)

I had an idea for a one-off Rise episode plot and just wanted to quickly sketch up some visuals for it.
The plot goes as follows: Donnie attempts to invent a cloning machine and, due to some kind of science-y mishap, ends up cloning himself...a lot. But there's a catch to this - the clones aren't exact copies of Donnie, they each possess just ONE of the various facets of his personality (i.e. brainy, broody, sarcastic, passionate, dramatic, mischievous, etc.) and a small portion of his mystic powers. Don tries his darnedest to keep the whole situation under wraps while he searches for a way to fix it, but some of the more rambunctious Donnies quickly escape and begin stirring up trouble in the Lair, so it doesn't stay a secret for very long. To make matters worse - the real Donnie starts to slowly disappear (something having to do with his existence being divided among the Donnies or blahblahblah fake science explanation). So, while he and the scientist Donnies continue to look for a way to reverse the cloning effect, his brothers and Co. set to work gathering up all the other Donnies so they can put them back where they belong and keep Donnie Prime™ from vanishing.
Hilarity, wholesomeness (and some mild angst) ensues.
(Note: I meant to include April in that second-to-last image, but ran out of room. Just know that she, Splinter, and probably Casey Jr. are all there, as well.)

[ID: Several drawings of Calvin Wright, Tenebrosum, Arthur Lester, and John Doe. There are a few portraits of Calvin and Tenebrosum alone, and a few others of Calvin and Arthur kissing or otherwise intimate together. More detailed ID in ALT.]
FINALLY posting this on a random monday, here are some of my drawings from @croik 's Arkam Horror/Malevolent Crossover series that has made me category 10 unwell for months. I absolutely recommend this series, it's hot, it's got just a Delightful dynamic of jarthur x another possessed traumatized guy and his Personal Horror, it's got a plot so good it could be its own arc of the show, and also, its got The Horrors!!! give it up for the horrors everyone
Genuinely I have been SO obsessed with this series and ESPECIALLY their characters of Calvin and Tenebrosum. Thank you op for writing over 100k for these guys, i need to inject them into my brain. Calvin and Escuridão specifically are like catnip to me i WILL be rereading this many more times

This is going to sound really silly under the context that the art style of the show is rather crude, but have they ever released any art books, or proper character turnarounds for Beavis and Butt-Head (and other characters/assets from the series)?

First bit of replicant AU concept art. How I'm thinking the buttons I mentioned the other day would work.
Tumblr media
It's about 2 inches [~5 cm], give or take. A little smaller than the width of your average smartphone.
You hold down for a few seconds and then can either use it like a touch screen or give voice commands. Once the outer ring fills, the AI performer's body will freeze in place. Both to prevent them from interfering and to act as a restraint method should one of them ever get too wild (read, violent [mostly just a comedic hypothetical]). They can still talk and move their heads, and will unfreeze after someone navigates back to the default screen. The button will automatically return to that screen after 5 minutes of no one touching the screen or using a voice command.
The AI's can't interact with their own buttons, including removing them, but can activate the other's. They don't have much reason to, though, as they can do most of what the button can do on their own.
A few options include the snooze, which essentially puts the AI to sleep, but if Pomni were to interact with them, or they were to see/hear something that they're obligated to assist with/investigate. Such as hearing a scream or seeing Pomni with some kind of injury.
The tracker, which allows the user to find where the other AI's are located in the circus.
And of course, tech support. Which sends an alert to Caine and will try to trouble shoot the issue. If the problem is severe enough, it will call Caine to assist.
It can also display error messages and tell you if the AI is buffering.
Image text transcript:
The buttons: Interaction button default display icon name of the folder where the AI is housed - CAINE_AI_copy_05_J AI's name - "Jax"
Snooze set snooze 15 min, 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours, until button is pressed again
Tracker Gangle
Error an error has occurred and [JAX] is unable to respond. Please call Caine or another AI friend for assistance. 0X0000001A
Tech support please describe your issue A friend is being violent and won't stop A friend is missing and does not appear on the tracker A friend is not moving A friend is staring [for too long]
Comic AI 05 JAX "Hold your finger over the screen until the outer ring fills to bring up additional options. It'll respond to voice commands after that" "So, I just-" TING FREEZE "You good?" "Of course! It's just some temporary paralysis to keep us from moving while you adjust the settings!" "O-Oh..."

I can’t find this post I’m trying to reference but it’s basically this:
“My kid brought me a piece of black paper and excitedly told me they found a piece of night”
I think the idea that kids are way more poetic than adults says something about how we define “good poetry”.
Children have limited words and concepts to work with based on their limited experience, and with that they tend to make brief and profound statements seemingly on accident.
A lot of adult-written poetry is filled with big words and difficult concepts and those elements are supposed to create a feeling of profoundness for the reader. This is all well and good, but it kinda makes some poetry less accessible to a majority of people.
All this is to say that simplifying your craft isn’t always a bad thing. It can make creation easier for you and the end result can oftentimes be more satisfying for both you and your audience. There’s no shame in having limited resources(time, materials, schooling, etc). You can still make beautiful things and create profound content with the tools you have!

“By a scruple of illusion quite proper to a period and a social class too weak both for pure reason and for mythical powers, the intermission audience (evidently bored) declares these unreal faces to be those of ‘town’ and thereby acquires the rationalist good conscience of assuming a man behind the actor; but at the very moment of despoiling the mime, the Harcourt studio summons up a god, and thereby , for this bourgeois public that is both blasé and living on lies, everything is satisfied.
As a consequence the Harcourt photograph is, for the young actor, an initiation rite, a guild diploma, his true professional carte d’identité. Is he properly enthroned if he has not yet encountered the sacred Harcourt Image? This rectangle which first reveals his ideal head, his intelligent, sensitive, or witty expression, depending on the role he offers to life, is the formal document by which the whole of society agrees to separate him from its own physical laws and assures him the perpetual revenue of a countenance which receives as a gift, on the day of this baptism, all the powers ordinarily denied, at least simultaneously, to ordinary flesh: a changeless splendor, a seduction pure of all wickedness, an intellectual power which is not the necessary accompaniment to the ordinary actor’s art or beauty.
Which is why the photographic portraits by Thérèse Le Prat or Agnès Varda, for example, are avant-garde: they always bequeath the actor his fleshly face and enclose it frankly, with an exemplary humility, in its social function, which is to “represent” and not to lie. For a myth as alienated as that of actors’ faces, this choice is quite revolutionary: not to embellish their lobbies with classic Harcourts — titivating, languishing, angelized, or virilized (according to sex) — is an audacity few theatre managers can afford.”
Roland Barthes, The Harcourt Actor from Mythologies

i think image gen can be used like any other artistic tool but I don't really think the big commerical proponents of "ai" are advertising it as a tool, they're adertising it as a solution. I also think it's intellectually dishonest to argue that image generation is exactly like "using photoshop/taking a photograph" because of some generalized "those were also criticized at their conception for being new and scary and disruptive" soundbite. they were not even really criticized for the same reasons. find a better argument.
