It was one of those days were couples walked through parks, talking about their home remodels or where to get dinner. I was peoplewatching although I had people with me. A person I'd fallen in love with deeply, the first of many.

He'd broken my heart, or rather temporarily tampered with my love. I, so young and in love, thought 'lets work through it.' Yet, despite my efforts I still saw it happening in my head on replay.

On a cold winter night, I'd cry in my bedroom at my mothers that was now my brothers. There'd be no christmas tree or bundles of joy. I would no longer cry at the fact no one made me feel special on my birthday. I'd cry because I loved my mother so much but in a painful way.

On a cold winter night, he'd get a message about my stress and sadness. There'd be a christmas tree and another woman. A woman from the past who came back. He'd let her back in, because he was bored. They'd go to his place, one I'd never see until it was to late.

I don't love you anymore but sometimes I feel nauseas I let you touch after you touched her. It's as if I gave you consistent to harm my heart/

As someone who works w animals “animals are not mindless automatons, they actually do have feelings and individuality and are capable of feeling acute physical and emotional pain and of forming deep attachments with other animals and people” and “animals are not human infants and have a limited capacity to communicate with humans so you have to familiarize yourself with their boundaries bc if they feel threatened or overstimulated they will fall back on their basic instincts and if you fuck around you are going to find out” are statements that can and should coexist

I think there's actually something really profound in Donna's 'missing everything' gag. Like, yes, it's objectively funny that this woman has somehow missed every alien invasion in the entirety of her time on Earth.

But there's more to it than that. She's the most compassionate companion, the most down to Earth as the saying goes. She sees things that others don't. Like the missing sick records, the way others are treated, Martha's ring. Sees the inside of the Tardis before she sees the outside. And perhaps most importantly, she doesn't see The Time Lord - that big otherworldly figure. She just sees the Doctor. Sees his need for true companionship, his need for guidance, his need for someone to carry a burden he is being crushed under.

She misses the big things, yes, but in exchange she is so wholly, beautifully immersed in the small things no one else sees.

I asked someone at the village recently if the dairy co-op sold [specific cheese] and she said yes they do, and I said oh I’ll pop by then, I haven’t seen that cheese at the grocery shop for a while, apparently their local supplier is giving them trouble, and the woman I was talking to scowled and said, “the dairy co-op is their supplier and my son works there and yes they’ve suspended deliveries but they’re not the problem” in a combative tone, clearly assuming I had sworn allegiance to the enemy in this dispute I didn’t know existed. It reminded me of how last spring I was saying that I’d seen a really cute foal while driving by [specific farm] and the person I was talking to scowled and said this foal’s mother was a terrible aggressive horse who shouldn’t have been allowed to reproduce and once again I just stood there awkwardly
