I have no clue why I like Azulin x Pompom. In canon, it would 10000% be as toxic as radioactive gas, but since neither characters have that much screentime together, it leads to different fan interpretations of the ship, all that are equally interesting to see.

For me, I like Azulin x Pompom for the intriging storylines and character development that can happen with it. I do like seeing fluffy art of the ship too because of sad what-ifs. What if Azulin wasn't a complete asshole? What if Azulin humbled himself a bit after surviving the fall? What if Azulin got therapy before being drafted and learned to be kinder to others? The art makes me imagine sweet scenarios between Azulin and Pompom that could've happened if circumstances were different, and I LOVE that kind of tragedy.

Also, there's just a lot of cool art, comics, and funny memes in general.

HOWEVER, I am completely aware that the ship wouldn't be healthy at all in canon, and nobody should romanticize abusive relationships irl. They're draining and absoloutely traumatizing, and anyone victim to a toxic relationship should get as much help as possible.

Anyway, I find the ship interesting from a writing standpoint (and it can be very funny), but Coco x his wife is always going to be superior.

this is my personal opinion, and I mean no offense to anybody who has done the contrary. I feel like tlk and tlg human designs that don’t portray them as black are just.. wrong. the animals and the universe itself is set in africa, and a lot of the storyline takes its concepts inspirations etc etc from african culture as well. all the characters have african names, and tlg takes this a step further by adding swahili words into the characters’ vocabulary. it’s very clear that the characters are meant to be and portrayed as black. the characters’ ethnicities being african ones just.. makes sense. to me, it’s practically canon. I mean, I myself hc some characters to be of some other heritage but I hc that alongside african heritage (mixed rep woohoo). dunno if this is much of an unpopular opinion; just wanted to put it out there.
