Me, at the start of the video, scanning the timeline to see what the sections are about: Oh hey, there's a lot of James Somerton in the second half. I can see a bunch of shots in the preview window of him casually speaking into a mic so they're probably talking over a video call. It's cool that these two video essay creators I watch are collabing like this. Bit odd that James doesn't seem to appear in the first half though.

Me, having now finished the video: I am going to kill James Somerton with my bare hands.

the mourn watch background gives you such a GIFT in having other characters notice and call out on-screen that rook code switches like a motherfucker. the whiplash of hearing my snarky 'heeey I'm just a little guy! :>' funnyman rook speak the heightened ritualized phrases of the mourn watch with perfect seriousness and gravity completely naturally and/or break into an academic tone that can keep up with emmrich at the drop of a hat never stops giving me such endless delight. truly their real mind is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside some hideous mourn watch casual wear

I wanted to give this a genuine answer but I kept getting distracted by Lou Binghe...so...yeah.

chris keeps you secure and warm in his arms as the two of you go on a ghibli marathon. he snuggles in closer, lips pressing against the crook of your neck for the tiniest of pecks before he plans another one further up it--just behind your ear. he cuddles you again, eyelashes brushing against your skin as he lets out this blissful sigh.

"comfy?" you tease a little, and you feel him smile against your skin.

"mmhm," he wraps his arms around you a little tighter, leaning back into the couch even more. "you?"

you squirm just a little to readjust, and relax into him as you enjoy the warmth of his embrace. it becomes just more apparent how badly the two of you needed a cozy, happy movie night like this. "mhm. i'm perfect."

"i know," he giggles. he reaches toward where the blanket has slipped, and carefully readjusts it so that the two of you are nice and snug again. "it's okay if you fall asleep, by the way," he mumbles. "i've got you."

(he falls asleep first anyway. he always does, but you're never far behind when you listen to the sound of his heart beating in his chest. maybe you'll pick the movies back up another day.)

personally would really enjoy a dr who episode where the whirlwind single-episode romance (a la the girl in the fireplace) is between the companion and a historical figure instead of the doctor. And while the short-lived love story should be beautiful in its own right I think there should also be a moment of realization at the inevitable tragic end where the companion is like oh this is what love is like for you all the time.
