i think that in your cameron analysis post you made a lot of really good points that i fear i might be reiterating here in slightly different words, but oh well. comphet cameron! so many thoughts!!

one thing about cameron that sticks out to me a lot is her criteria for entering a relationship being, essentially, a hopeless match. she married a man she knew would die within a year, was attracted to house because of her “i fix him” mindset even though they both new she really couldn’t, and started dating chase despite the fact that she (at least in my interpretation!) wasn’t very into him. it could be construed as a fear of commitment, but i don’t think that’s fully it—i think it arguably could also be because she was forcing herself into these relationships, but wanted a way out. that feels super comphet to me!

i think with her weird relationship with house in season 1 that could be attributed to the fact that he hired her for her looks as well; she figured he must be attracted to her, and so she became attracted to him. that kind of feels as though she did so out of expectation rather than actual attraction, idk.

her relationship with chase also started (aside from the first EXTREMELY dubious consent hook up) as something she clearly was not as committed to as he was. she really had no interest of being in a romantic relationship with chase, only getting with him after the team all underwent significant life and career changes—it’s been a while since i’ve seen that episode so i could be wrong on her motivations there, but that feels as though she got with chase in trying to find stability again, not necessarily out of attraction to him. ofc, we know that their relationship didn’t exactly end well, and while it clearly upset her, cameron seemed to accept the divorce easily… hmm!

this is all mostly an argument for cameron being comphet as opposed to her being a lesbian, and even though i’m still very much a lesbian truther, i don’t have much of an argument for that off the top of my head at the moment. HOWEVER, if i got to have a sway on the house md writer’s room then i would have heavily advocated for a relationship between cameron & thirteen. it would be so on brand for her: you realized you’re gay, but you’re still scared of commitment! congrats!

but yeah, that’s my thoughts for now!! i would absolutely love to talk about this more, & now i feel like i’ve got to go back and rewatch more of the cameron-centric episodes. she’s got so many issues that don’t get discussed enough, i love her sm <33

The whole saga of House, Cameron, and the mocha frap is too funny not to share:

1. Cam offers House the drink (not pictured)

2. House complains it doesn't have whip

3. Cameron pulls the drink back to take for herself since he doesn't want it, and proceeds to stare him directly in the eye while drinking it (my girl is autistic and performing social interactions like a lioness hunting on the savanna)

4. Cameron leans forward in shock, House reaches to grab the drink

5. Cameron pulls the drink back (presumably not giving it to him until she gets answers)

6. House reaches forward and steals the drink from her while she processes the Foreman news and stares at him in disbelief

camerons comphet was so on display basically the entire time she was on the show to the point where its comical. first of all her "relationship" with chase (or lackthereof) being PURELY sexual and based off the fact that she was just bored and saw him as suitable enough. r u kidding me. also the only other time where she had sex with a man (still chase, womp womp #chasehater) being when shes high. exploding at that. and also side eyeing chase soooooo fucking hard, that man has zero understanding of how consent works.

i think cameron and wilson have a lot in common in terms of their reasoning for why they get with/ are drawn to the people they are. and thats also a big part of wilson comphet too, bc they both rly like feeling needed. now ofc cam goes abt it in a much better way bc she doesnt cheat on anyone, but you can tell with her marriage, while not lacking love, was most certainly based off of her desire to be someones lifeline per se. her brief sorta fling with that charity guy in that one episode is another example of this as well, but i do think another factor was her admiration for his morals and character. and again with house, which i will always laugh at because if that isnt the biggest case of "i can fix him" in the entire world then idk what is. wilson however just kinda gets with women who need him (or who he perceives as needing him) and then gets bored when they. dont. speaking very surface level bc this post isnt abt him. either way, wilson could learn a thing or two from cam in the comphet department i suppose. i really really wish we got more of cameron, if she stayed thru the whole series i think a whole lot of my life problems would be alleviated at the very least. i wanna see her get a girl crush!!
