i'm sorry but hotd positing that all women are innately cautious and peaceful and compassionate while men are rash warmongers is not a feminist win! i could see the value in everyone being hesitant to go to war at the onset of the story because it intensifies the tragedy of this house tearing itself apart, but at this stage, rhaenyra has as much reason for bloodlust (if not more) as the men on the show. it's pretty heavily implied that the shock of her usurpation killed her daughter, aemond killed lucerys, and one of aegon's kingsguard snuck into her quarters with the intent to assassinate her. most importantly, she has felt entitled to the throne since she was named heir as a child. she should be incensed! rhaenyra's inaction in the season 1 finale due to a sudden aversion to violence was already stretching believability -- this is the same woman who expressed nothing beyond mild shock at vaemond's beheading, who plotted with daemon to have an innocent man killed to facilitate laenor's escape while declaring that the realm should fear her. to have rhaenyra insist on peace at this point in the story, when war is already well underway, is incredibly irrational.

this problem is not limited to rhaenyra. alicent ordered larys to kill mysaria's network of spies and any suspected traitors in the red keep, presumably without any due process, and neither of these decisions was depicted with the gravity they deserved for a character who was once horrified by any bloodshed. meanwhile, aegon had a few extra ratcatchers executed, and not only was the direction sufficiently ominous, but we also got a lengthy monologue from otto about how it would spell his doom. it is probably pointless to bring up rhaenys because she is written less like a believable human being and more like a mouthpiece for the writers to assert whatever political opinion they believe is correct in a given episode -- but she did very much kill dozens if not hundreds of smallfolk last season. she did do that and very clearly did not care. why is she an advocate against war? for both alicent and rhaenys, there is a strange dissonance where their actions are at odds with their attitudes about opposing large-scale war for the good of the realm. i'm not saying this dissonance cannot exist, but it should at least be acknowledged.

helaena raising concerns about the losses suffered by the smallfolk might have worked in isolation, but for it to accompany everything above is exhausting. can none of these women be allowed to feel for themselves?

in love w @cicerfics's "give Bond a government(Q)-assigned therapy dog - I mean obv you are providing the dog with therapy not the other way around-" so I decided to look up some common breeds of bomb dogs in the UK cuz all I know is GSD but I wanted options, and one of the results is a springer spaniel. and yea okay, okay, I can get behind this!

Excellent dog and I love that it's, like. a smaller-ish medium size dog, like smaller than a GSD. like yes the idea of Bond walking w a GSD or malinois or sth along those lines would be in line with the bad boy macho superspy image. But! Imagine him instead walking around with a lil dude like this!!!! lol:

Actually wait, no this should be something Q brings up to Bond. Maybe Bond is grumbling like couldn't Q haven't gotten him a more dignified breed like a GSD or malinois or something, and Q is like nonsense, English springer spaniels make excellent sniffer dogs, they've even been trained up to sniff out tech, there was this article on it on the BBC etc. and Bond is like hm,. well if he's gonna be stuck w this Creature then he might as well put 'em to work and see if he can, in fact, teach an old dog new tricks - simultaneously giving 'em a new lease on life and also fulfilling some of that Drive to Work need that working dogs, even retired ones have, but in a way where the dog can get more Tasks in everyday life.

(Q did in fact do this on purpose to seed the idea in Bond's head but make him think it was his own idea - so that he would be more receptive to it and also so he would throw himself into this task with his fiendish laser-focused determination).

oh boy rachel's telling on herself a little-

so we noticed that her Twitter name recently changed again, now featuring her bluesky social in her username to obviously advertise to people that she has a Blue Sky.

She's had BlueSky for a while, but it obviously doesn't have as massive of a following because 1.) Blue Sky is still a much smaller platform than Twitter (undoubtedly because it still requires invite codes to join), and 2.) it's really, REALLY hard to move the entirety of your fanbase from one platform to another as many followers are bound to be "dead" (i.e. not active on the platform anymore) and others will naturally fall off because they may have followed ages ago but never bothered to keep up or unfollow from a page that was just on their backburner.

But interestingly enough, this change is very recent and when you check her BlueSky, which she would only post to every once in a while, it's now seeming to be a lot more active with multiple posts over the past couple days. So I think it's very clear at this point that she's trying to actively commit to the migration from Twitter to BlueSky.

No hate to the person who posted this, I'm sure they're chill and cool, I just think the fact that Rachel of all people reposted this to her BlueSky which she's trying to replace her Twitter with is very telling. We all know this isn't just Rachel sharing something funny for the gag, we know exactly what Rachel likes and portrays in her work that she could see herself in through this post.

And what's even more telling (and hilarious) is that this may as well have been her running away to BlueSky after the "Never apologize for being Sicilian" tweet became the top result when you search "Lore Olympus" on Twitter LMAOOO

I'm not saying that's exactly what's going on here, but the thought of Rachel deciding to fully commit to moving to BlueSky out of sheer embarrassment over this one out-of-context panel from years ago that went viral overnight - and staying at the top of the search result feed because no one's engaging with good faith LO posts anymore - is hilarious, and if it takes this dumbass panel of Hades telling Persephone she should never apologize for being Sicilian to get people talking about how stupid and hilarious LO is, then I say it's about damn time.

It's kinda wack how English only does gender in third person. Like it's got benefits for sure and you don't gotta come up with large sets of neopronouns, but it also robs you of the ability to declare your grammatical gender just by speaking in first person and of the gender euphoria of being correctly gendered in second person by the person you're talking to. It's so rare to hear someone talk about you in third person to hear them gender you. In Japanese, you often even use names instead of second person pronouns, which yeah you can work the names of who you're talking to into sentences in English but not very smoothly or often.

And yes this would give people more opportunities to misgender and deadname you to your face it's not perfect and I'm not saying it would be better overall I just wanna talk about like. Missed opportunities. What if we just started using first and second person neopronouns anyway just because. Ani just decided to use "ani/oti/sheli/atzmi" for atzmi. Don't use "you/your/yourself" for oti, sheli second person pronouns are "thou/thee/thy/thine/thyself".
