streaming services will put commercial breaks in worse places than you can possibly imagine
#from maggie#literally watching a show that aired on broadcast tv with commercials and yet#why use the preexisting commercial pauses when you could simply insert them directly into the middle of a scene

Y'know when, after a shoot-out, Arthur searches around and goes body to body to rifle through their pockets?
I've taken to calling it Grazing.
It's healthy to let your Arthur graze after a gunfight.
It's a nice way to wind down after the excitement, an easy form of enrichment, and it's always good to reward your Arthur by letting him find new little curios to puzzle over.
#i imagine that last bit to be said in like a commercial radio broadcast kinda voice#arthur morgan#rdr2#headcanon#rdr2 headcanon#ccghastly

> "What do you mean there are two astronauts stuck in space?! And you people thought things were bad back in my day! Sure, we had no FDA, but we didn't have this!"
#hot takes with al (broadcast)#// commercial flight became a thing WITHIN HIS LIFETIME and he's the evolution of that and then the evolution of#outer space travel like the space race and now we're at 'astronauts stranded on the ISS' the WHIPLASH#the last thing alexa said about the I.S.S. is 'if you say a slur on the international space station does it count' idk why. but yeah.#anyway he thinks it's funny. but hopefully those astronauts come home ok!#also it's TRUE there was no FDA back in his day. it was the wild west out there. and everyone was on crack

@tmitrench from ⛧⸸⛤
"Doing your job?" He hissed annoyed that he was even talking. He was the news. He let this idiot help because he was suppose to get information that Vox couldn't, but this was shit. He couldn't use it. "You useless fuck." He snarled at him.
He didn't own Tom but he sure as hell was keeping him in business. He had no issue ending this man. "You spoke to him?" His fingers twitched and little volts of electricity buzzed off his antenna. He stepped back almost a serene look on his screen. "What did he say?"
#v; dreaming with your eyes wide open (alt.)#the future of hell belongs to me; vox#tmitrench#t; vox & tom (tmitrench) 01#[ just mentioning al is all he needs ]#[ but i think the studio is owned by vox ]#[ hence making a broadcast come on during their commercial ]#[ he is a baby ]

and so...
we start the beginning arc! this takes place a year before fmab/manga canon starts, so tsukasa is 14 while saki is 13. this also takes place in the 03 variant but in a different place in the timeline.
it's very rare that mustang insists on tsukasa coming into the office despite the teen insulting him. tsukasa has come to know he means serious business when he does that. perhaps a new lead on the philosopher's stone? it has been a few months since they've gotten one...
as it turns out, it's not a new lead but a new mission. one that needs all hands on deck.
there has been strange disappearances happening in a town just five hours north of east city. they all take place in a certain radius from the most prestigious school of the arts in the eastern region of amestris and all of them are students who come from outside towns. the team has been assigned to investigate the school and surrounding areas to find the cause of the disappearances.
fuery has been assigned to stage as an intern who works for a group that is experimenting with commercial radio broadcasting for the public.
falman is to be working as the new receptionist in the local bookstore after the old one passed away.
breda becomes an archivist at the library just outside of the radius of disappearances.
havoc is now an apprentice for the only carpenter in town.
hawkeye finds herself as an assistant for the tailor closest to the school.
mustang (the prick) is now the new science teacher at the school.
and tsukasa... tsukasa is now a student at the most prestigious school of the arts in the east.
now, the thing about this school is that it's unusually strict for a school of the arts. even the entrance process is strangely strict. they also only allow the same number of students of either gender to attend.
tsukasa thinks that mustang is fucking with him. why? well it's quite simple. they weren't allowing any more boys to apply for the school, the max number was already reached. girls however? they still had a chance at getting tsukasa into the school. and they did. by using the girls application.
so not only does tsukasa have to go to school again after so long, he also has to attend as a girl. which she hasn't done in years. not to mention he'll have to pose as havoc and hawkeye's younger sister. is it too late to grab saki and get on a train to anywhere but east city?
#fullmetal alchemist: SEKAI au#project sekai#prsk au#tsukasa tenma#fullmetal alchemist#fma#fma au#roy mustang#riza hawkeye#jean havoc#heymans breda#vato falman#kain fuery#team mustang#won't tag saki in this since she's barely mentioned but she does play a big role in this arc#this is the introductory arc after all#in the 03 variant this takes place about a year and a half after nina#did y'all know commercial broadcasting didn't exist until 1920?#bc i sure didn't until i had to search up when it was invented for fuery's role#all of their jobs are either inside the radius of the disappearances or near it#i'm actually excited to draw tsukasa in her usual outfit and in the school uniform#i haven't drawn all summer so it'll give me a challenge#not mentioned but they all live together in a rooming house

I've already got (and love) the Some Like It Hot soundtrack, guess I gotta grab Kimberly Akimbo now.
Anyone else get any new recs from the Tonys? :D
#musicals#tonys#getting you to see the shows is literally the main purpose of the broadcast#well maybe second purpose#because people really do love giving themselves awards#but lets not pretend it isnt a giant commercial#a fun commercial advertising things I want#but a commercial nonetheless

Everybody always talks about physical traits among other genetic stuff that you inherit from your parents but I never see people really mention the weird habits and quirks that you pick up from them. Reblog and put in the tags a niche interest, habit, or funny quirk that you picked up from one of your parents, I'm so curious :0
(and don't feel obligated to reblog if you have really negative relationships with your parents! this post is meant to be for fun, not to bring up any trauma)
#cookie.txt#me i picked up my dad's habit of analyzing and loudly criticizing commercials on TV#my dad used to work in broadcasting - a job that required him pay attention to commercials - so he can't tune them out#and he developed a habit of pointing out commercials and mocking them while watching TV#and saying what does and doesn't work about them#and how good they were about actually advertising the thing they're advertising#which i picked up. and now he and i like. critically analyze and pick apart advertisements together#father and daughter bonding over talking about how dumb and weirdly misogynistic the anna invisalign commercial is

IT accidentally put my email on the traffic scheduling list for the entire station. So I asked for it to be removed. Then they put my email on the traffic confirmation list for the entire station. Now I've deleted my email from my phone.
Basically, it's over 120 emails per day now flooding my work inbox.
For something that has absolutely NOTHING to do with my job.
And they refuse to take me off it.
#i produce; voice act; edit; shoot; light; write; and handle marketing materials i don't fucking handle broadcast traffic#and it isn't just one channel it's three channels and two radio stations#that's not just emails confirming every single time slot#it's every single time slot plus every single ad that plays during commercial breaks#and every single element of programming on our app#THIS ISN'T MY JOB#and the emails bury work that IS my job

it's actually really reassuring to see Murata and Endo being simultaneously taking this whole "time loop" thing in a pretty chill way, but at the same time not doing something insane and over the top with it. god bless we didn't see those first few loops.
thanks kings for curing my fears
#mondays 2022#mondays see you this week#critics say it's a silly commercial comedy movie I SAY IT BROKE MY HEART AND IT WAS PUNCHY AS FUCK#broadcasting my misery
