As always, I am LIVING for Mariner and Ransom's dynamics. They mirror each other and are such good foils for each other in such a cool way. They're very similar: both tending towards the heat of action and great in a physical fight, both having practical smarts and being quick thinkers, both being great leaders when called upon, both with a deep abiding love for Starfleet. But these similarities lead them to clash due to their methods. Mariner loves to go off script while Ransom plays way more by the book. Their clashes have always put them at odds with each other, but but because of that, Ransom kept a close eye on Mariner and went through her files, realizing her potential as well as her propensity to self-sabotage. He may get a kick out of annoying her now and again, but Ransom does genuinely care for all his subordinates and wants to see them grow, including Mariner.

Yeah, I can believe the fanon that Jack Ransom had a poster of Una Chin-Riley on his bedroom wall when he was growing up.
But you know who had that same poster?
Kathryn Janeway, that’s who.

I rewatched the season two final recently and Mariner literally like,,, slides up to Ransom while telling the bridge crew about Freeman's transfer and steals his drink and sips from it and he just takes it back like it doesn't even bother him, he doesn't seem grossed out by it at all. Is this just normal for these two? Are they really truly 'share drinks without asking' levels of comfortable with each other? It's making me insane

Are Captain Rudolph Rudy Ransom and Commander Jack Ransom related?
Like maybe Jack Ransom primarily joined Starfleet to try and find his father who was lost commanding the Equinox. Depending on his age, Jack probably would’ve joined around the time of the Dominion War. Lower Decks seems to establish that Starfleet isn’t the most attractive career option around this time, so it seems conceivable he would join up to follow in his long-lost father’s footsteps rather than a sense of duty to the Federation. (See that post about Una being the Starfleet recruitment poster girl, hearkening back to a golden age of exploration in the wake of the war. Una represents be a strategic revamp since wartime recruitment numbers probably dipped quite a bit. Who wants to get sent to the front lines to fight a war in a post scarcity society?)
If Voyager got back to the Alpha Quadrant in 2378 and Jack is a commander on the Cerritos in the early 2380s, he wouldn’t have known about what happened to the Equinox when he joined Starfleet. By the time he’s posted on the Cerritos, he would know the fate of the Equinox and exactly what his father had done. I highly doubt Janeway would hide Rudy’s level of crime in her logs, especially after dressing down Ransom (and letting him live out her self-sacrificing tendencies) and demoting the remaining crew she brought in from the Equinox. When Voyager returns (or Starfleet gets Voyager’s logs and eventually releases relevant info) Jack taking a post on a California-class ship makes sense. After learning the truth, he wouldn’t need to be a great explorer seeing what it did to his father. In fact, his character seems to try to overcompensate for the ruthlessness that characterizes Captain Rudy.

Ransom, after a break-up: She said I'm not good-looking enough for her! Not good-looking!
Ransom: Captain, look at me. Look at my face! Am I beautiful? Beckett, am I beautiful?
Beckett:
Freeman:
Freeman, sighing: You're very attractive.
Ransom: Yeah!

the fact that Ransom has spent enough time around and, more importantly, listening to Kayshon to pick up on some of his speech patterns >>>

Disclaimer: I'm not as familiar with a couple of these characters so my vote doesn't reflect on them.
My vote is for Seven cuz she has been shown to disobey orders and not believe in the "greater good" logic (that one episode in Voy with the Hirogen and species 2487 or something notwithstanding since her character develops since then).
I mean she literally disobeyed Captain Dickhead (sorry I legit forgot his name like I did species 7482 or whatever) in Picard to save his life so yup I'd trust her the most.
(Chakotay was a close second since he isn't all that Starfleet but I still think he'd choose the greater good)
It hurt me not to vote for Spock ngl. Like yes he'd do his best to keep me alive, sacrifice himself if need be but I feel if it was absolutely between only me or the greater good, the latter would win out for him (unless I'm Kirk...)
(P.s. Yes I can't remember names for shit, I know)
We've done this a while back with our captains, so now, I present
Remember:
Do not vote for the character you like the most or who is most sympathic: It's about your own survival
