I try not to be bothered by the extent to which the fandom ships Alastor, but it drives me just a little insane. Alastor would have to outright, on screen, say that the idea of sex or romance with anyone disgusts him before the fandom would actually acknowledge his sexuality as canon because they refuse to see subtext.

I’ve seen too many people say things to the tune of “why is he ace? I wanna see him get nasty” or “oh I can fix him up real good 😏” or “I know he’s ace but have you considered how hard it is to not want him?” (All of these are actual things I’ve seen fans say). Those statements REEK of aphobia

The block button is your best weapon here anon. I'm sorry you were made to feel uncomfortable in the fandom. Shipping Alastor should be something fun and silly as all shipping is, not an excuse to hate on aro/ace people

Love and relationships in Hazbin Hotel

Episode 7 has something interesting and in the song that is called "Out for love" is sung by a character that is referring to a type of love different from a romantic or sexual one, Carmilla is openly talking about familial love. Vaggie of course relates this to her romantic feelings towards Charlie and how she wants to help her. But something else interesting happens in episode 7, Rosie is properly introduced as Alastor's bestie. This leads to showing another type of love: platonic love.

Now to the main point of this post: Alastor. It's canon that he is aroace and as an ace myself (I'm still questioning whether I'm aromantic or demiromantic but this post isn't about me lol) I'm extremely happy to see myself through him. Plus, the fact that the perfect Tumblr sexyman is aroace is genius and hilarious, you can't possibly top this type of humor.

Alastor for me has been a great ace representation and I've seen myself mainly in how he acts around his friends or other people.

When it comes to Niffty it looks more like a relationship between someone with their feral cat or their crazy little sister. But it's still a genuine connection and a fun chaotic one at that, he even lets her touch his hair and climb on him. In regards to Mimzy, he has shown he cares about her and welcomes her with open arms. He openly hugs her, which shocks everyone in the cast. This is extremely important because Alastor usually only starts physical contact to mock others or to pretend physical closeness as a manipulation tactic (like he often does with Charlie). When it comes to people he hates Alastor may touch them but will quickly wipe his hand on his clothes, like what he did with Lucifer. Personally, I don't like personal contact and only accept it if I start it and usually I use it as a way to show affection with close friends. Also, they have known each other since they were alive, so Mimzy probably knows a lot about Alastor that the rest of the cast doesn't. Mimzy also says that they used to dance together. But that doesn't exclude the fact that she uses Alastor's friendship and affection to save her own ass and taking into account how Husk reacted to Mimzy, this isn't the first time she does this. Also, the relationship between the two starts to crumble after what happened in episode 6 and Mimzy seems to be the kind of friend who will pretend that they are still on good terms and still ask Alastor for favors in the future.

Now jumping back to Alastor's true bestie: Rosie. They probably bonded at first over their cannibalistic natures but it's clear that it evolved beyond that. Personally, I don't ship Alastor with anyone, but when it comes to Rosie I headcanon they are in a QPR.

There are various reasons why this relationship is so great and wholesome, the first one being that there is no power imbalance, they are equals. Both are cannibalistic overlords and are on equal footing in terms of power. When Rosie first sees Alastor she is genuinely happy which is something new because most people react badly to him out of fear or hatred.

Alastor respects Rosie, he even compliments her, in her introduction he says she is "the most darling, delightful, and dangerous Overlord of this side of the pentagram". Considering how self-centered and narcissistic he can be, it means a lot. Alastor would rather die again than compliment another Overlord who isn't Zestial, which he respects but out of fear. Alastor respects Rosie as his close friend. When they stand next to each other they give an air of equals, something that never happens thanks to Alastor's ego and sadism towering over everyone else. With Rosie it's different and Rosie can openly tease Alastor with the "Look at you, so polite! Alastor you can learn a thing or two" when comparing him to Charlie when meeting her, or "I'm just kidding, I know you're an ace in the hole" to tease him about his asexuality. This is something that not a lot of people can do because Alastor is obsessed with control and respect. After all, we see how badly he reacted when Husk insulted him.

He also harmonizes with her, he willingly makes a duet with her in "Ready for this". He isn't interrupting her, instead, he agrees with her and they sing together in unison. This is the first time he doesn't openly hijack a song or fight for control over it, like he did with Vox and Lucifer (although this also happened because this is Charlie's song, but who cares the point still stands). Also, this is the first time we see him dance with someone, instead of forcing them to join his musical number (like he does with Charlie on various occasions). Alastor and Rosie are in perfect sync and it's so wholesome and precious to see him being so openly happy with her. Many have pointed out that the only times Alastor is genuinely smiling is when he is with Rosie and it shows by his expression in his eyes.

Finally, Rosie is the only one capable of bringing the most human emotions out of him, the most obvious one being confusion. In the scene of "ace in the hole" Rosie manages to confuse and surprise Alastor for a solid second, which is a huge change of his persona around everyone else of control and manipulation. Also, it's hilarious that Alastor doesn't know what being aroace is, he probably thinks he is above all that.

He is openly relaxed around Rosie and lets her touch him in an affectionate way, something that not even Mimzy can do. It may be because of the height difference but Mimzy only touches Alastor to hug him and to emphasize he is a "heartless son of a bitch" and Alastor clearly gets irritated by her touching him that way and even moves her finger away from him. This never happens with Rosie and he even welcomes her touching him by not having any walls with her. It's Rosie the one starting the physical contact and Alastor doesn't seem to mind and he never tries to use physical contact to take advantage of her like he does with other characters. Rosie is one of the few people who can touch Alastor without losing an arm and instead have a positive reaction out of him.

The most genuine relationship Alastor has is with Rosie, he even has the confidence and comfort to stop his elegant and reserved persona of not swearing. Which he only does when he is truly angry, like what happened with Lucifer. Or when he is threatening someone like he did with Adam. Or when he is shocked when his microphone breaks. He swears to insult Susan, which is someone they both despise equally. Something that you would only do with your closest bestie.

Finally, let's talk about Alastor's breakdown in the last episode. We've already seen that Alastor is capable of having friendships that aren't based on an end goal. Alastor knows this but he rejects it because he is at the hotel originally for selfish goals and doesn't want his emotions to get in the way. He is terrified of ruining his reputation as a sadistic killer and becoming an altruistic who cares about his friends. Alastor wants to stop himself from starting to care about the crew the same way he cares about Rosie, Mimzy, or Nifty to some degree. This is confirmed by his conversation with Niffty, where he admits he has grown accustomed to the main crew and perhaps he is growing feelings of affection towards them in his own way.

In regards to shipping him with Rosie, I see it as a platonic ship or a QPR. Some people have a headcanon that if they had known each other when they were alive they would have married for tax benefits and to avoid the social stigma, which is the only right answer. When they first met in hell they probably had dates in cannibal town where they ate human flesh while gossiping and trash-talked about the other overlords. Which is exactly what an ace person like myself wants from a close friendship.

As an ace, I really like Alastor not because he is the ultimate Tumblr sexyman or see him as hot but because he is an extremely fun character that I can relate to. I'm grateful for the crew and VA that take into account he is aroace and take seriously that aspect of his character. I don't mind that the aroace representation in Hazbn Hotel is a narcissistic psychopath, if you want a more wholesome ace representation you can check Todd in Bojack Horseman or Saiki in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

I don't mind people shipping Alastor, after all, it's just people having fun, but you can't ignore that he is aroace and how this affects his relationships. So yeah have fun and respect and aroace community :)

my thoughts on Charlastor and Alastor calling Charlie "the daughter he never had"

this will be a very long rant/vent/whatever. also, a kind of... agressive one. if u wanna read, read it, if u don't, don't, idc and idm. I don't know if some antis take things for convenience (that way) or if they really are naive, because the fact that a manipulative guy like Alastor, whose intentions are unknown, tells Charlie that he sees her as "the daughter he never had" DOES NOT SOUND as CUTE to me as many DO seem to think it does.

I don't know if they don't realize the relationship Charlie has with her parents and how Alastor seems to take advantage of her.

From the pilot we realize that Charlie has no contact with her mother. In the series it is established that they have not seen each other for 7 years.

The first episode JUST talks about Charlie having so called "daddy issues" as her father, Lucifer, is an absentee father.

Charlie appears to NOT have had a close relationship with ANY of the two for some time (or quite some time).

The only person Charlie has is Vaggie, to protect and care for her (here's why Vaggie is so "boring", as some people call her, as she is acting as a guide/parental figure for Charlie, even though their relationship is romantic).

Where am I going with these points? That I think it's complete nonsense for people to take super-literally what Alastor has said: "you're like the daughter I always wanted to have".

Isn't it convenient for the most feared overlord (not the strongest) to approach Charlie and find that she's not as vulnerable as he thought (because Vaggie is there)? Isn't it convenient for Alastor to make a very absolute polarity between Vaggie and him in the pilot, where Vaggie comes off as the "bitter one" and he as the "fun guy"? Isn't it convenient for Alastor to PROVE to Charlie over and over again that HE knows what SHE NEEDS by pulling his tricks? And, oh, surprise… Isn't it even more convenient that when Lucifer arrives, who has a lousy relationship with his daughter, Charlie, Alastor rubs it in his face that he is doing everything that he (Lucifer) is responsible for, and furthermore, hits him right where it hurts, manipulating Charlie so that she seriously BELIEVES that Alastor REALLY sees her that way, and thus making her STILL not have a GUIDE other than HIMSELF?

I'll make it simple for you. You know how narcissists work? They will make you believe that YOU are special, and at the same time, they will ALIENATE you from your loved ones to keep gaining whatever they need from you. Charlie is, literally, his supply.

Alastor is a psychopath and narcissist. Do you really think that someone who can't genuinely empathize and love is literally going to feel affection for a grown woman who is very naive and doesn't even have power over her kingdom because she is so immature? Don't you think it is VERY OBVIOUS that he has literally said to her face: "I'm going to manipulate you in my favor because thanks to me you have all these upgrades in your stupid hotel"?

Alastor hasn't as such made a deal with Charlie, but he's winning her over in HIS way.

And I don't know who's crazier: charlastor shippers like me, who don't give a damn about canon and want to enjoy shipping WITHOUT bothering ANYONE (and don't come out with the stupidity that it's a "proship". Proshipper doesn't even mean "problematic ship", it means that you are FOR shipping whatever you want, living and letting live, without HARASSING others. Let's remember that Hazbin Hotel characters DON'T. FUCKING. EXIST. Alastor is not going to come out of the screen to say: "omg, user, thanks for defending me from those evil shippers uwu", or Charlie to say: "thanks for defending me, you're so good, user…. You're such a good person". Pro: "in favor of", shipper: "shipper, ship", however you want to call it. Don't modify terms to suit yourselves because you can tell that many don't even know how suffixes and prefixes work in words. Neither Charlie nor Alastor are going to die because someone shipped them. They are FICTITIOUS characters. The FANON is not going to change the CANON. Learn to sepparate stuff, ffs. Go out and touch grass once in a while) or antis who put on a pedestal what Alastor said, believing it as a justification to ATTACK people in the fandom who shipped something different, according to them, "problematic".

There they do forget that Alastor is a manipulator, that he is a person with a LOT of arsenal to get his way. There they forget that he IS a guy Charlie should NOT trust. There it DOES count because IT CONVENIENTS THEM. That's when the canon MATTERS to them. There it COUNTS. It doesn't matter if Charlie gets hurt because of trusting Alastor, they only see what they want to see. If you guys are going to humanize this fucking characters, at least be a little bit logical. Got me? Remember what Viv said?: "ship whatever you want, JUST DON'T HARASS ANYONE". These people say: "fuck what Viv says", but on this occasion, since she DID say something convenient for them, it DOES matter what Viv says now, doesn't it? Hypocrites.

Charlie has no one beyond Alastor, and I don't remember where I read that theory, whether it was here or elsewhere, where they talked about Alastor looking for a way to alienate the hotel itself in one way or another. That's why he doesn't use very flashy technology (Vox can travel through the latest electronics, and the hotel has an old box TV), nor does he go out of his way to provide anything of good quality (like the video camera). The hotel has its own power supply (we see this when the blackout occurs during the song between Alastor and Vox).

Alastor DOES NOT WANT Charlie as his daughter, he's just taking advantage of her to get whatever he needs to get out of her.

Charlie doesn't even seem to know exactly how her powers work, and the only person who can teach her is Lucifer, her father. And if Lucifer is out of the equation, Alastor can do whatever he wants.

He's hit Lucifer right in the jugular, and Lucifer knows that all the power in the world can't make up for the wrong he did to Charlie.

Anyway, if a real anti thinks Charlastor is problematic because "AlASTor AlreADy SaiD hE sEES hEr As a DauGhtER," I remind them that they are not dealing with a character who cares about others beyond maintaining his own status, and ffs... they're not even real. KEEP SHIPPING. KEEP DRAWING. KEEP MAKING FANFICS. FUCK THESE PEOPLE THAT TRY TO HARASS YOU, FUCK THESE PEOPLE THAT TRY TO MAKE EVERYTHING "PURE" ON A SHOW ABOUT DEMONS AND HELL. The amount of art, fics, and takes I've come across that's so patronizing to Alastor and his sexuality. Thing's like Alastor venting to Rosie about his feelings for a character with the caption "Alastor feeling love for the first time." Or Alastor wanting to have sex with a character and having feelings about that, and someone commenting "That's called a boner, sweetheart. That means you like them 🤭"

Like??? Like do ya'll not see how patronizing that sounds? Being ace-aro doesn't mean you don't know your own body. It doesn't mean you don't understand the functions of your body.

It doesn't mean you've never experienced intense emotions. It doesn't mean you've never experienced love before.

And, look, I know these are meant to be jokes. I know. People are joking. I laughed at the first few I came across, too. It's not meant to be harmful or condescending; no one means it that way. But there's been so much with such...bad takes recently, and I don't know about any other ace-spec people (I don't speak for all ace-specs. Alastor is in his late 30's-early 40's in human years. That is the established age range we have for him. Do you really think that he'd go that long without ever experiencing "love?" He went through puberty just like everyone else, do you think he doesn't understand his own body???

Being asexual, or sex-repulsed, or touch-repulsed doesn't mean you automatically don't explore these parts of yourself. It doesn't mean he's never, once in his life, touched his own dick, or pussy, or whatever genitalia you're giving him. He can still very well be a "virgin" (which in and of itself is a social construct) while also knowing his body and confidently handling any "sexual needs" he has.

Do you really think he doesn't know what a boner is? That in all the years he's been alive and dead (on Earth and in Hell), he wouldn't have experienced these things once? (And you know what? Maybe he hasn't! Perhaps there are ace's out there like that! But you're telling me he doesn't KNOW what that is??? Really???)

Look, I am all down for Alastor exploring parts of himself. I want him to navigate different relationships, feel them out, figure out what kind of relationship he wants and what he's okay and not okay with doing. But there are ways to do that without treating him like a little UwU silly baby boy who doesn't know his own body, or his own emotions, or his own relationships with other characters. Like he needs someone to teach him about himself.

How about instead, he finds someone he feels comfortable exploring these elements with? Instead of them "teaching" him how to fuck, or masturbate, or whatever the hell you want to call it, they're giving him the room and safe-space to explore it at his own pace??!!

It comes across as someone who isn't on the ace-spectrum "teaching" an ace-spec character about their own sexuality which puts such a gross taste in my mouth. Or, at least, that's how it comes across to me.

And the thing is, I know people aren't going to stop. I know they're going to keep infantilizing Alastor and his aro-ace identity, and I wasn't originally going to make this post, because you can't control what people do in fandom.

So this is mostly just a post to say: HEY! Hello! Ace-aro person here! I hope you all are having fun and I love that you're exploring Alastor's asexual/aromantic identity! Especially those who may not be in the ace-spectrum themselves, as you're learning about us and our experiences! That's awesome! Can we just do that while also treating Alastor like the adult he is? Can we do that without being infantilizing and patronizing about his sexual identity? Please?"

That's all I really wanted to say. I just needed to get this off my chest instead of letting it fester. This isn't an attack on anyone, this is just the perspective of an Alastor multi-shipper who loves exploring his relationships with other characters (sexually and non-sexually) and deep-diving into the dynamics of the show.

What can I say? I love an evil couple. I think these two look pretty hot together, and it's interesting how Striker seems to respect Stella despite hating blue bloods. These two aren't canon, but I wouldn't mind if they were

9) RadioRose

Despite having mixed feelings on Alastor, I think these two are just so cute. Either as a couple or just queer platonic partners, I don't care. Rosie seems to be the only person to make Alastor genuinely smile, and she's the only one who can touch him. There's a special bond there I really like

8) Verosika Mayday x Wally Wackford

So this is the biggest crack ship on this list, but I think in theory, it's so cute. I really want Verosika to be happy, and Wally, despite being a bit of a scammer, is really sweet. I'm totally cool with Verosika ending up with Barbie as well, but I slightly prefer Wally. I wonder if they will have more interactions in future episodes.

7) Fizzmodeus

Is this controversial? Probably. I know Fizzarolli and Asmodeus are so loved in this fandom, so putting them at number 7 is awful...but they aren't my favorite. I do like them, and I think they're really cute! I just have ships I like more, but that doesn't take away how sweet these two can be. Sometimes obnoxiously sweet heh. So yeah, no disrespect to these two

6) M&M

So these two were at first kinda meh for me, but over time, I've grown to love them. They have a pretty healthy relationship, and I always hate when someone bothers Millie for marrying Moxxie or saying Moxxie isn't a good enough husband. These two clearly love and respect each other and clearly grow together with every episode.

5) Staticmoth

Like I said, I love an evil couple. Valentino is a monster, and Vox is deplorable. That doesn't stop me from loving them as a couple and thinking they are cute. I think they both should die, but also would be sad cause come on, they're cute together.

4) Cherrisnake

I love Sir Pentious, I love Cherri Bomb, so obviously, them together is a fun pair. I shipped these two before the show came out and was so excited to see Pen having a crush on Cherri. They kinda remind me of the early versions of M&M, but they need a lot more time. Cherri isn't ready to accept love, and Sir Pentious is well...in a different world. I can't wait to see these two develop and become an actual couple.

3) Adamsapple

So this and Lucilith could be here. Lucifer being happy is the main objective, and its Adamsapple is so fun. They clearly have a history, and there's a lot of feelings. If Adam comes back in season 2, I'd love to see this be fleshed out. I doubt they'd be a couple, but maybe friends? Who knows. I'm fine with this one not being canon, and just something fun in the fandom

2) Stolitz

Stoltiz is pretty important to me because it really got me involved in the fandom. I've been watching Helluva Boss since the beginning, but episode one of season two had me from casual watcher to actual fan. Blitzø is one of the characters I really relate to, and Stolas is just a really well written character. I love the development of these two and they are worth waiting for. I really gotta draw some fanart of them because they are everything

1) Huskerdust

Are you surprised? You must be new. These two are my everything and all time otp in the Hellaverse. I've talked so much about why I love them, and I will continue to do so until I can't any longer. Angel and Husk are not only my favorite characters individually, but their growing friendship and eventual relationship are just so ughhhh. I love these losers, and they will always be number one.

QPR Applemedia Headcanons

I got bit with the bug for this ship a couple weeks ago, and while I'm writing a little fic for them, you guys can have these headcanons

Lucifer and Vox are romantically and sexually involved while Alastor is their queerplatonic partner

Lucifer and Alastor were actually the first to become involved with each other, then (somehow) Alastor and Vox worked through their differences and became qpps as well

Lucifer DID NOT like Vox at first - he'd heard what happened between him and Alastor and was sure he was trying to hurt Alastor again. It wasn't until Alastor got sick of the protectiveness and forced them to hang out that the pair actually realized their chemistry

Lucifer and Vox are both rich and treat customer service employees like shit

Alastor - who grew up poor and is still not exactly strapped for cash (I'm a broke Alastor truther, sue me) hates this. Both he and his mother worked in customer service when money was tight while he was alive, so he always tries to treat them with respect. He'll take money from whoever was the biggest asshole on their nights out and use it to give the waitstaff large tips. Nights out almost always end in the silent treatment, but our boys are dumb so they don't know what they did wrong or understand why it was wrong when Alastor tells them

Don't worry, they get it eventually and start working on themselves

Vox and Alastor both prefer coffee while Lucifer likes tea more

Vox has the best sleep schedule, Lucifer alternates between not sleeping at all and sleeping for 19 hours, and Alastor sleeps at most 3 hours per night due to crippling insomnia - though he like to tell everyone that not sleeping is a choice in order to seem more mysterious and intimidating

Vox and Lucifer had a field day when they found out Alastor was ticklish. Alastor pretends to be annoyed every time they gang up on him, but it actually reminds him of the rare happy memories of his childhood, so he lets them keep doing it

Vox and Lucifer will binge their favorite shows together and come up with the wildest conspiracies about them

When they sleep in the same bed, Alastor and Lucifer use Vox as a makeshift heater

Alastor is fine with being kissed - making out is a definite no - but he doesn't kiss. He bites with affection. He never draws blood when he's being affectionate, but he's not always gentle either. It isn't uncommon for the trio to be laying in bed and Alastor just starts biting whoever is closest

For someone who is supposedly with the times, Alastor and Lucifer had to explain asexuality an ungodly number of times for Vox to finally understand it - a byproduct of being with Valentino for so long

Alastor still refuses to allow cameras to see him clearly, just to tease Vox when they aren't around each other

Despite his claims, there is actually a wide array of modern music that Alastor enjoys, but despite his southern roots, Vox found out the hard way that Alastor will throw hands if you play country around him

Alastor and Vox love making fun of Lucifer for his height - until he shifted into a form that was a good 5 inches taller than both of them just to shut them up. Lucifer wishes he'd had a camera because he'd never seen them both so flustered at the same time

They have competitions about who can come up with the best dad joke/corny pickup line, and they usually end up laughing so hard they can't breathe by the end of it

They also love trying to make each other blush. Lucifer turns bright gold when he receives genuine affection. Vox overheats when either Alastor genuinely laughs, or Lucifer turns on the charm. Alastor hates that he turns bright red with either genuine praise or when his partners surprise him with something he enjoys (knowledge of jazz/radio, cooking authentic Creole meals for him, expressing real interest when he actually gets invested in something, etc.)

All three of them have weird little hyperfixations - Lucifer with his ducks, Alastor and furbys, and Vox is absolutely fascinated by the existance of Pastafarianism (the worship of the Giant Flying Spaghetti Monster). Speaking of furbies, when Alastor unleashed the fabled Furby Organ, he played "Symphony No. 5" on it perfectly, and Lucifer and Vox were both awed and horrified

Lucifer always worries they will leave him just like Lilith did, and they both do their best to comfort and assure him otherwise

Vox is afraid that Alastor and Lucifer secretly think he barged in on their relationship, and they will playfully talk shit about each other until Vox is convinced he's both wanted and plays a vital part of their relationship

Alastor fears that they'll either decide he's not good enough because he doesn't like sex, or they'll find out he doesn't own his soul and cast him aside. They don't do anything about this because Alastor never tells them about his fears, instead letting them fester until they manifest as constant nightmares that he also doesn't tell them about

They have each others favorite food and drinks memorized down to the seasoning and temperature

Vox's love language is gift giving, Lucifer's is quality time, and Alastor's is - ironically enough - physical contact. Of course, this makes his touch aversion even more difficult to navigate

All three of them are incredibly touch-starved

Alastor learned how to rewire and fix televisions purely for Vox's benefit - he read three different owner's manuals and practiced on the tv in the lobby in secret

On Lucifer's bad days, Alastor and Vox will regularly check on him and slowly coax him out of bed

Vox is prone to viruses despite his firewalls, and Alastor and Lucifer take turns playing nursemaid when they get bad

When they learned Alastor suffered from panic attacks, Lucifer and Vox spent hours researching ways to help during, before, and after an attack, and learned the signs Alastor had that he was becoming distressed so they could make them less frequent

On that note, when they discovered that he had trichotillomania (hair pulling disorder), they got him different fidget/picking toys to negate the urge to pull his hair

Ways to use Alastor for NSFW content from the perspective of a sex-repulsed Asexual.

Asexuality is a spectrum that doesn’t just cover a complete repulsion to all forms of sexual interaction. 

For example: I am repulsed by IRL sex or intimacy of any kind. I don’t wish to engage in it and I don’t want people to associate me with it. However, I can completely enjoy NSFW content of fictional characters so long as their bodies do not line up too much with my own and it doesn’t involve anything that isn't drawn or written. My own self is completely detached from it, the enjoyment just comes from thinking it’s fun to happen between fictional characters.

First and foremost: Asexuality does not automatically mean Aromantic and Aromantic does not automatically mean Asexual. I need to make it very clear for the people in the back that an Asexual person CAN IN FACT want a relationship. There are many Asexuals of all types currently in happy relationships.

Stop spreading the misinformation that all Asexuals cannot have and don’t want relationships, thank you.

Everything listed are suggestions not things you are required to do.

Some details I want to cover on how you can use Alastor for NSFW content are the following (I'm going to put person for ease of writings sake, but this does also cover Poly relationships with Al):

His partner is his first time: It can be a good idea to not give him a sexual history or prior desires for it unless it’s plot relevant to how you’re portraying him. But any kind of first time enjoyment is best to be drawn/written with the person he’s being shipped with. It’s alright to make him good at it for his first time given he has been in hell for a long time and well… It’s hard to miss how exactly it’s done.

It’s for the domination factor: Sex can be a way to feel in control of another person and Alastor likes his control! All the satisfaction can come from being in control with no sexual gratification involved.

Just satisfaction from seeing his partner enjoying it: Enjoyment without sexual gratification can be gained from seeing the way their partners react and making them feel good as their sole source of enjoyment. His complete focus would be on what he can do to them and what they want to do for their pleasure.

Having sexual gratification from the above reasons: If you want him to have sexual gratification it needs to take into account the different reasons an Asexual might like it, possibly with the examples I listed. I'm going to say this repeatedly, but it should not be sex for sex's sake.

Some other ways to involve Alastor’s Asexuality into the idea of sex:

The idea of other people having sex still disgusts him. Only him and his partner are appealing. Everyone else can stop now.

He wants to immediately shower after and is uncomfortable with being dirty after.

Swallowing fluid is something he won’t do. Perhaps he can still do oral, but he won’t swallow. 

Won’t accept certain positions due to his preferences on why he's engaging in sex in the first place.

I always like the idea of him telling his partner that he’s never had any interest in that kind of thing, but is willing to perform certain acts because he is attracted to them in some ways. Then, there’s something about the act/seeing them in some way that makes him want to indulge in his own specific ways. 

Completely repulsed/disinterested and/or Aro Alastor always matters. If that’s how someone headcaons him that way respect it. But anyone who headcanons him that way also be respectful to the people who want to involve him in NSFW as long as it respects his Asexuality.

People who make him Allosexual… I just have no respect for you.

Other Asexuals give your opinions on this, but be polite please. I am not the end all be all of the subject of Alastor’s Asexuality. I just don’t think we need to automatically jump to the conclusion that he is repulsed/disinterested.

Allosexuals, please respect that he is canonly Asexual and the opinions of Asexuals does matter. Take into consideration how you use him and don’t just jump to him liking sex for sex’s sake.

So I've been getting a lot of Hazbin and Helluva content in my YouTube feed recently and, as an interesting but also kind of disappointing fact, the way a Sinner dies directly influences how they appear in Hell. If you drown on a sinking ship like Baxter (scrapped side character who still has an enamel pin for some reason?), you might have an aquatic fishy look. Angel Dust died of a drug overdose, and he now has a prominent heart on his chest symbolizing the heart attack he died from

So, like. Obviously there are cool ideas on how maybe you could catch attention or appear down there, but, could you imagine how fucked you would be with like literally any yandere HH/HB character if you go down there very obviously dead from suicide. Platonic, romantic, sexual, it doesn't matter. You can't keep that shit secret

Charlie meets you and you're like a zebra with horizontal stripes and she thinks you just look so neat and interesting, and wow you're so sweet amd fun actually, what are you doing down here? And then she sees you have stripes going vertically down one or both of your forearms and she suddenly feels a little hope die inside of her because, what does it MEAN for someone like you to be in HELL for... suicide? That's not your fault! That's so sad! She would vow to be your new best friend and do her best to give you an amazing afterlife to make up for all the time you didn't get to have "up top"

Angel accidentally walks in on you changing and sees you have a heart on your chest and is in instant sibling mode because he knows the second Val sees that he'll go crazy for it since he loves that aesthetic (Also extra bad luck if you're chesty and the heart is like in between your boobs or like you know nestled in your cleavage or whatever because then you're getting forced into constant push-up bras) but, also, if you were an addict, that means you're vulnerable. For Val, that makes you a target, and for Angel that means you're probably miserable and spiraling like him and he doesn't want to see you go down the same roads he has

Alastor who meets a version of you that has a certain old timey kinda twang or is kinda theatrical and showtuney in your voice/mannerisms and maybe you glow a little and it's because you put your radio in the bathtub 💀 definitely don't let your extra special "platonic friend" find out you killed yourself from crippling loneliness, partially caused by not having a partner!

Valentino who sees you're literally blue-faced with a certain pattern around your neck and instantly knowing that this interesting little cutie he's curious about is an emotionally vulnerable mark. It won't be TOO hard to pour drinks down your throat and maybe lend you some of this joint until you're spilling all your intimate secrets, he figures

Blitz already has multiple instances of family trauma and feeling rejected and isolated, so how do you think he's gonna empathize if you're some.... yellow skinned aquatic demon who literally drank like a fish and died of liver failure/alcohol poisoning. The imp watching you get piss drunk all over again and bawling how you're a failure and no one will love you? You're crashing on his couch tonight cuz he doesn't wanna leave you alone. And also the next night. And the next. And the next.

Stolas certainly would be awfully sympathetic to a teen or adult child abused by their family and ending their life because of it, coming down to Hell with spots like a dalmatian or leopard from where you were beaten, and bright red on one specific patch of your hair from where you hit the ground after jumping from a great height

Annnnnnnd as a bonus, Asmodeus and a Darling with visible handprints on their neck who was choked to death during sex, so not only is he horribly protective of you as someone killed by a lover, the act of even being lovers something he considers pretty intimate and important, but also because you've now got these horrible sex related traumas and.... honey baby cutiepie, he's gotta fix all that if the two of you are gonna bone down something nasty. You're at least gonna let him cuddle, right 🥺

I keep finding out about little ship dramas. According to a small shipping corner of Radiobelle, Radioapple shippers hate them and keep targeting them. There were accusations of Radioapple fans coming on Radiobelle posts to attack them and stealing Radiobelle art to edit it to Radioapple. This was interesting to me because prior to this what I had heard was that it was Radiobelle fans attacking radioapple fans because they wanted their ship to be canon. It must be noted that I have not seen anyone from either of these ships do these things but my experiences are not universal. I am likely protected from things like this because I am not usually in the ship tags. I only found out about this by accident because I clicked on a Radiobelle fan's account.

Now, I am a multi-shipper myself with Radiodust, Radioapple, and Radiostatic being my main ships. I also like most of the other ships with Alastor because Alastor is my favourite and I consider ships a way for me to get more things related to my favourite. Radiobelle fans make some truly beautiful artwork of my darling even if I prefer Chaggie. I also don't think any ship involving Alastor is going to be canon. They are all to have fun and explore the characters. I therefore understand that I am coming into this from the perspective of someone who isn't as deeply invested in the ships themselves.

However, I must ask the Radioapple and Radiobelle fans who are engaging in this unnecessary shipping war behaviour what exactly they think they are doing. Do you know that to anti-shippers and people who hate shipping Alastor, you are the same? There is no difference between Radioapple and Radiobelle fans to them. To them, you are all crazy people shipping characters who do not belong together and trying to force your horrible ships to become canon regardless of what anyone including the creator wants. Something that Radioapple fans and Radiobelle fans would both disagree to be true regarding their ships. Stop doing the work of people who hate both of you for them. Most Radioapple fans, even if they aren't Radiobelle fans, aren't actively against Radiobelle fans and vice versa. Don't let the voice of a few assholes, amplified by antis, convince you that the other side is your enemy. Let's enjoy our ships and let others do the same.

I feel like I haven’t made it clear how I feel about Alastor…I actually DO like Alastor! He’s one of my favorite characters and I’m very interested in learning more about him and his story. I think my main issue with Al comes from his popularity in the fandom and how he’s portrayed sometimes outside of the show itself.

I always say this, but I’m not here to rain on anybody’s parade, we are all kids playing with dolls here. Everything is fun and make believe and we all gotta find joy in something, right? Hell, people can be annoyed with my love for Lucifer and that’s perfectly fine! I just don’t expect to be harassed over it just like I won’t harass anyone who enjoys something I don’t! Because I’m a grown ass adult and I have real problems to worry about!

That being said, you are correct in saying I don’t really enjoy RadioApple (this is my first time admitting it publicly and I’m a little afraid lol) It’s just not a ship I vibe with. However, I truly don’t mind other ships with Lucifer that much, I’m more neutral than anything, but I can appreciate interesting character dynamics in ships like Adamsapple and Appledust. But y’all know I’m a Lucilith lover he misses his wife Tails. I’m just a sucker for that kind of devotion which is where my demi side really shines through lol

But back to your original question! The take I see the most and angers me the most is when people say that they wish Lucifer would have been portrayed as more of a bad guy; a neglectful father who belittles Charlie and her mission, someone who detests his lot in life and is more vicious and cruel “like the devil should be.” But guys���THERE ARE ALREADY SO MANY DEPICTIONS OF THE DEVIL IN MEDIA THAT PORTRAY HIM AS EVIL!!!! I am really happy they did something different with this Lucifer! They made him funny and charismatic and sympathetic. He’s not perfect, don’t get me wrong, he’s still very prideful, he resents sinners, and he can be a bit of a show off.

But I feel like most people forget Lucifer is still an angel, a being of light who made a mistake and was punished harshly for it. He didn’t mean to bring darkness into the world, all he wanted was to give humanity a gift, but they abused it. Lucifer is sad, he’s depressed, he isolates himself, he’s lonely, he doesn’t take his role as king of Hell seriously. Plus his wife leaving did not help. (I have a whole rant I could go on about the shit Lilith gets but I’ll save it for another time lol.)

As someone who had struggled with depression in the past, I did the exact same thing. I didn’t spend much time with the people closest to me and I ignored my responsibilities because of what I was going through. And yes, while he hasn’t been a great father, he still loves Charlie with his whole heart and would do anything to protect her. And I think that’s what matters; he cares and he’s trying to improve. This show’s main theme is redemption, is it not?

So no, I really don’t think we needed another evil devil character in media. I love my silly little duck man and I will ALWAYS defend him and his characterization!

★Why do you think Alastor is, if not the most, one of the most popular characters of the show?

That's a really tough question!

I believe it originated from the pilot, where we had an extremely small character cast, and he was one of the characters that got the most focus. He's been one of the most developed characters ever since the pilot came out, and he was one of the two most outgoing male characters. It was pretty much Angel Dust or Alastor, if they weren't being shipped together already.

During the show, he fits a very popular character trope of being the guarded, mysterious type. While everyone else has had more direct character development, Alastor's comes from episode five, where the focus is between him and other characters who reveal more details about him. He doesn't let his guard down, he doesn't reveal anything about himself, and even his closest friendships (Mimzy and Rosie) can appear distant if you aren't someone who knows how Alastor treats everyone.

His character is fun to explore. People like me who enjoy character analysis are given plenty to work with, and his various connections to other characters make for fun dynamics. The amount of ships that include Alastor likely outweighs the amount that exclude him. Then, selfshipping with a mysterious serial killer who never lets his guard down is always popular.

TL;DR: It's a mix between the limited character cast we were given from the pilot, his character being the mysterious serial killer trope, and the shipping presence he has.

Hazbin Hotel Ep 5&6 Oh My God (Major Spoilers)

-LUCIFER. He’s so pathetic I love him

-Jeremy Jordan you fucking legend. I’m a big fan of a lot of his work and was excited to see him in this but I was slightly unsure if he was the right casting since I expected Lucifer to be more of a high and mighty/snobby figure, but with the way they characterised him HE IS PERFECT.

RadioStatic Headcanons as Requested by @sassy-radio-hazbin-queen and @hiemaldesirae

For all my RadioStatic babblings, I've never actually done a standard headcanons post lol I'm sure I've got more in me, but this is what came off the top of my head.

(last one is NSFT)

-I think the fallout was both their faults (though if it has to be one of them, I want it to be Alastor because I think that would be more compelling and make both him and Vox and their relationship more interesting).

-I do NOT think the fallout was caused by a love confession or anything of that kind.

-While I haven't quite settled on what I personally think happened between them, I think Valentino played a huge role in their falling out.

-Alastor is the best cook out of the two and does the most cooking. Vox can cook and is actually pretty decent at it, but he doesn't have the same passion or love for it that Alastor does so he's content to let Alastor handle the cooking most of the time.

-Vox is still in love with Alastor, though refuses to admit that even to himself ("I Won't Say I'm in Love" plays in the background)

-Both of them had struggles when they realized they were catching feelings the first time around. Vox because he was still fresh from the 1950s and thought Alastor would hate him and leave him if he ever found out Vox was bisexual and Alastor because he's Mr. What-Are-Feelings-And-Can-You-Eat-Them.

-Alastor had never felt this way about anyone before Vox, so it does definitely unsettle him (That man is talking to Vox. They're just talking so why do I want to eviscerate him?).

-Alastor is possessive and jealous as fuck. Even when they aren't friends, he still doesn't like it when Vox gives his attention to others. Once Alastor has decided someone is his, not much will break that.

-Vox is one of a handful of people who knows Alastor's full name.

-Rosie has shipped it from the very first moment she saw them interact (so has Niffty).

-(NSFT) They have a fun dynamic because Alastor tops and Vox bottoms, but also if we're going by stereotypes Alastor is more the housewife with the cooking and the cleaning while Vox goes to work all day (and then comes home and gets railed).

I dunno why when it's radiostatic then I'm either indifferent or sometimes, rarely as it is, even like top!Alastor but when it's radioapple then even a thought about top!Alastor and bottom!Lucifer makes me wanna to gouge my eyes out haha

Samsies, Anon XD When it comes to radiostatic, I don't mind top!Alastor. I've actually like it on a few occasions of Alastor domming Vox. It's delicious. It's exquisite. Very yummy.

I think its the fandom-wide depiction of top!Alastor and bottom!Lucifer that turns me off from that dynamic. With Vox, Alastor gets to be more himself. He's not turned into this super suave alpha male dude (probs because Vox already fits that bill LMAO). Alastor gets to keep his fun and silly characteristics. I've seen more fan art of Alastor in a dress in radiostatic than radioapple, and I would like to thank the radiostatic community for contributing to my health. Thank you for putting my pookie in a dress, he looks amazing and beautiful just like he should.

And Vox gets to be his silly self too. He's still a boyfail. He's a mess. He's suave and charming, but obsessive and goofy at the same time. They match each other's freak.

From what I've seen, radiostatic typically feels closer to their canon counterparts than a lot of radioapple, which might be why I've been so drawn to radiostatic lately.

Their dynamic is so much more complicated and interesting than a lot of radioapple too, which is INSANE because Lucifer is literally the King of Hell, a prideful son of bitch, and an insecure, depressed mess who's been shown to despise Sinners. Alastor is a silly, girlpop, murderous Overlord who's rise to power is a mystery to EVERYONE (that should've been also impossible considering the assumption that he killed the other Overlords), he had an immediate dislike towards Lucifer that was never explained or expanded on, AND he's slowly been driven to (more) insanity because someone owns his soul, and that someone could very well be Lilith, Lucifer's ex-wife. THESE TWO ARE SUCH TASTY, COMPLICATED CHARACTERS AND RADIOAPPLE SHOULD BE THE TASTIEST OF SHIPS.

And yet, they're starting to feel like the oatmeal of ships. Bland and boring.

Don't get me wrong, I DO like radioapple. I do. I promise. I wouldn't be writing radioapple fanfic if I didn't. But it is hard to find enjoyment in the ship when most of what I see turns the characters into tropes and caricatures that strip them of all their tastiest qualities.

god I feel bad for that charlastor artist on Twitter. To have your work that you put a lot of love and effort on, only to be horribly stolen, traced and tagged with the very ship your antis keep harassing you with. Why are a lot of radioapple shippers like this?? They literally have hundreds of amazing artworks and fics across the internet but they go out of their way to be an utter asshole to people minding their own business.

This lead me to hating the ship. If I ever see a glimpse of Lucifer x Alastor, I'm scrolling and ignoring IMMEDIATELY. No hate to the other decent shippers of them, I just can't stand to see a crackship that has caused so much pain for so many of us Charlastor fans.

I mean, that's basically it nonnie. I don't have visceral negative reactions to ships I don't care for. I'm apathetic by and large. I block the tags and move on with my life. But, there's just the behavior of some shippers... it's been terrible. To the point where I cannot honestly see anything having to do with them without wanting to go on a rant. The main difference? I do that shit in a discord and DONT TAG THE SHIP IM HATING ON. But the behavior of most ra's makes me brace for impact just about everywhere. That ugly ass hoodie being released led to like a two hour vent session with friends. Their propensity to make everything about their ship? Makes me want to scream. The way they play the victim when they're the source of most of the bullying? I want to tear my hair out. And here's the thing; they eat their own the moment they fall out of line. Thankfully Bluesky has people who aren't garbage humans so any ship bullying gets shut down real fucking quick regardless of shipping preferences (the nice ra shippers are on there I will say that) but I saw it happen in real time. An artist known for drawing ra (and has since come out as a multishipper) was commissioned to draw charlastor, did a fabulous piece, and was harassed with two comments so vile they took the piece down. You know who was in the replies calling out the assholes? Ra's AND charlastors, and not a single one of them was fighting with the other.

So, I'll give credit where it's due. There ARE some nice people who have that ship and I respect them. It just depends on where you're finding them. But that toxic and vocal minority? Yeah, may they always step on legos in bare feet. And I will say this; hazbin antis are perhaps some of the most boring antis I've ever experienced in my life. They have normie who discovered fandom because of the pandemic and are appropriating weirdo culture written all over them.

Do you have any idea how many tiktoks I saw where people were cringing because the hazbin soundtrack was in their wrapped as one of their top albums? That's normie behavior. I do not feel cringe, I do not feel shame. I like what I like even if it disappoints me in the end (looking at you miraculous, please Jeremy zag release another movie and piss off the creator when the fandom likes it better). I don't regret liking anything I've ever liked. These people? Nah. And even their insults are like the basic white girl of fandom toxicity. Telling me to kys in one of five ways? I'm a pedo? A homophobe? I shouldn't exist? Boring. I had a Beetlejuice anti once threaten to turn my kneecaps into dice. You know what? I don't like you as a person but I at least respect the creativity. I definitely never heard that before.

And when you don't have any creativity, you tend to steal from the ones who do. Now the ra's are stealing lucillith art and doing it badly to boot. Normally I'm not one to critique art technique. Art is hard and people are always learning, but for the love of god if you're gonna steal someone's art don't add insult to injury by making the drawing ugly as fuck and somehow anatomically fucked. Yes I'm thinking of a specific example, no I won't share it mainly because tumblr says no sex based fun allowed. But I suppose that's what happens when you treat your ship and fandom experience as "content" rather than something you enjoy for fun. And hey, maybe it's my imposter syndrome talking but I still feel a little weird when people say they're fans of my work and seem to think of me as like... a big name fan or whatever. I'm just me, I create because I love my blorbos and if that attracts fans then it's a bonus, but not necessary.

Speaking of which; let me take a moment and say how grateful I am, not just to you Nonnie, but anyone who follows my nonsense on any of my socials. I'm not great with replies but just know I treasure the interactions we have no matter how small.

Hi! So you can call this a rant or a vent or whatever I don't rlly care - I just wanted to put some of my opinions out there bc it is eating me inside out to keep my opinions on Alastor's sexuality and all of the discourse about him being shipped to myself.

Also i'd like to state that I'm writing this as someone who is aroace but has no actual wish to be in a romantic relationship and actually struggles to so much as picture what that's be like for myself. I would also like to state how I'm not speaking for the whole community and others will have different opinions to myself.

Firstly - aroace is a spectrum (as someone who is on the aroace spectrum btw) and I completely agree with ppl who say that it is a spectrum and shipping has always existed and you can't rlly stop an entire fandom. My only problem is when ppl completely ignore that he is aroace while doing this, bc to me it seems like there's so much potential to having him have to go through those types of emotions and to write him off as if he's completely allo not only can make some people feel unseen but also just isn't as fun.

Also I kind of believe that he'd possibly date someone for the entertainment - like even if he didn't exactly feel romantic attraction maybe he'd be willing to be around someone closely bc he might like the reactions he'd be getting. (example: he might've stayed in a relationship with Vox maybe not out of pure attraction but if he found out that affection could make the TV short-circuit? He'd be interested)

Adding to that, I personally do not actually ship him with anyone romantically due to his character + the fact that I am projecting my own distaste for romance on him but you do you ig.

Also, on the note of nsfw around him - sometimes you cannot stop a fandom, rule 34 exists and some people who are asexual sometimes may want to have sex and all of that stuff. Personally I think he'd probably be sex-repulsed due to the fact that he canonically has issues with being touched.

ALSO, i personally think that way too many people are brushing over the idea of putting Alastor in a QPR - like that would literally be so awesome.

Alastor x Rosie? Cute af (to me Rosie gives of aro vibes too, but more romance - favourable) like they're already besties and honestly I think that Rosie would defo help him figure out about his identity considering that he's quite obviously not all that sure about slang and stuff.

Vox x Alastor - It has the potential to be SO FUCKING FUN like, you get to experiment with how they feel for each other, maybe what Alastor's got going on bc he died before being aroace was rlly a thing and he'd be confused about how he felt about Vox for sure.

Lucifer x Alastor - I quite like it, ik that Lucifer is supposed to be with Lillith but she did take an extremely long hiatus on her family up in heaven so i think it's okay. Plus the idea of them bonding and becoming close due to Charlie is wonderful.

Even angel and Alastor - maybe after Val Angel doesn't want a super sexual relationship - maybe he's not all that interested in something purely romantic either and though I love huskerdust this would still be pretty cool.

Really all I'm saying is; be considerate. Incorporate the fact that Alastor is Aroace, even if you do ship him - in or out of QPRs - and ofc sometimes writing someone who is part of a group ur not in is difficult (coming from someone who often struggles in writing especially when it comes to romance) but taking a crack at it might actually turn out to be rlly cool.

But please don't ignore his aroace-ness, there's not a huge amount of aroace characters out there and acting like someone isn't can be annoying for ppl who want to find rep around their identity, esp if they haven't seen much before (I can relate and he was one of the first aroace characters I was introduced to after I found out what it meant).
