Murder Family just hits different now...

I've always considered Murder Family a pretty comedic episode, and it still is. But this scene in particular just hits different now.

Am I the only one who enjoys both the I.M.P. and relationship drama aspects of Helluva Boss?

Don't get me wrong, the latter is what got me attached to the show in the first place and it would be repetitive if every single episode was just I.M.P. doing their job with nothing else going on. But both are important to the series' premise for a reason. Blitzø opening up his own business and being a company owner is part of what makes him special, because it's established that not many imps get to do such a thing.

On the other hand, Blitzø meeting Stolas and discovering the existence of the grimoire is precisely why I.M.P. exists. Part of the reason why Truth Seekers and Ghostfuckers are so well recieved by the fandom is because they combine both "I.M.P. doing their job" and "trauma + angst" AND do a good job at it, unlike Unhappy Campers which tried doing that but failed because of how OOC Moxxie was for the whole episode and the fact that the Blitzø/Barbie Wire stuff was underutilized.

I'm pretty sure that's why we had three assassin mission shorts in a row after Hell's Belles, because it's common knowledge that the I.M.P. office building is closing down and getting destroyed by the end of season 2. I look forward to that plot point because of the effect it might have on Blitzø's relationships with Moxxie, Millie and Loona, and i'm curious if they'll blame him for it or not.

Also could be foreshadowing for GhostFuckers were he genuinely and sincerely apologizes (like he did in Oops) with the M&Ms/millie for stalking and being weird with them. MAYBE EVEN OPEN UP TO THEM ABT HIS PROBLEMS??? I'LL CRY

I know Moxxie and Millie haven't had many (on screen) interactions with Stolas, but I love how genuinely worried they were for him, this wasn't just a job to them.

Also, Millie putting her hand on Blitz's arm, because she knows how much he loves him (even if he won't admit it).

In Truther Seekers, Moxxie kept his opinion about Blitz's suit being "tacky" to himself as to not hurt his feelings, and apologized immediately when he insulted it under the influence of truth gas. In The Full Moon, he openly teases Blitz for fashion sense

Moxxie's Feelings of Gratitude

I just want to talk about one of my favorite scenes from 'Exes & Oohs' because it really shows how much gratitude Moxxie has towards Blitzø.

In this scene, Moxxie looks so utterly betrayed by the fact that his boyfriend, Chaz, whom he had serious feelings for, essentially left him the moment things went south during the hijacking.

The moment Chaz leaves, there's a close up shot of Moxxie’s face and he looks utterly heartbroken.

He immediately gets thrown in jail, and Moxxie is utterly dejected. Suddenly, Blitzø pops up out of nowhere.

Blitzø is talking a million miles a minute, not really listening to anyone or anything, but Blitzø being Blitzø banters about. Moxxie is confused, but his face lights up.

"I got a plan to get us out of this dump but I'm gonna need some help, you think you can give me a hand? I need to get out to my daughter, the babysitter will kill me if I don't get back soon."

I think the reason why Moxxie is so happy is because Blitzø does not hesitate to include the poor guy. Blitzø is just friendly, casual, and determined.

And you know what the fun part is?

The moment Moxxie gets out of jail, he stays with Blitzø, and he doesn't leave. He doesn't even think about returning home. He sticks around with him, forms I.M.P with him, and then meets and falls in love with Millie along the way.

The flashback ends and we immediately cut to Moxxie making this face towards Blitzø, and there is so much appreciation and gratitude chocked up into this one expression.

Despite how harsh and mean Blitzø can be towards him at times, and even though Moxxie can get really annoyed with his boss's bullshit... there's gratefulness and loyalty in that expression. And I love that...

"Once I got out I never looked back..."

And then you see Blitzø looking at Moxxie with a confused expression, because of course he would.

Of course, Blitzø is completely unaware on the profound impact he had towards Moxxie. That fucking dumbass (affectionate).

Looking forward to seeing Millie's backstory next episode, now that will be fun!
