Nina and Matthias were so right when they discussed how pissed Kaz would be if they killed Kuweis dad, but I also think they totally misjudged him and did him dirty. Kaz wants the money, he needs the money, they all need the money. But he knows how much of a threat Parem is, especially in the hands of the Kerch. He would have traded Kuwei, gotten his money, and then planned a heist to get Kuwei out again. If there is anything I learned about Kaz when reading SOC it’s that Kaz takes care of his crows. Two of his crows are Grisha, threatened by the very existence of Parem. He might say that he needs to get rid of it just to make sure his best assets don’t get addicted to it and then he loses them, but in truth it’ll be because he can’t lose them. Anyway yeah I’m arguing with two fictional characters how’s your life doing.

I can't tell if I'm going crazy or reading too much into this with my hyper fixation on Ethari or something, but the parallels between Zubeia and Ethari are KILLING me. Like, while we now know that Runaan is ACTUALLY alive and freed, like out of the coin, ETHARI doesn't, so he thinks he's still dead (and even before that, when Runaan was in the coin, he WAS gone, like he might've never gotten out, and then he REALLY would be lost to Ethari).

Zubeia lost Avizandum, her love, because he was killed/turned to stone by Viren, and Runaan was imprisoned by him, making Ethari think he's dead.

So to both of them, their spouse is dead. Gone. Then, they both lost their kids (Ethari knew Rayla was alive, but he ghosted her and didn't exactly have positive feelings towards her because of Runaan, so she WAS gone, at least in some sense) until finding out they were alive and well from the journey to the storm spire and getting some closure on the fact that they were safe (well, not safe, but you get what I mean). Now, their kids, Rayla and Zym, are both running around screaming (or in Zym's case, roaring), trying to solve everything, and they (Zubeia and Ethari) are all alone worrying about them. THE PARALLELS?!?!?
