Krel: That’s actually a grape fruit you can tell because it’s painted to be pink with an orange rind and also it’s larger than the lime. Grape fruit is also known to help with digestive issues despite being commonly agreed to be the most disgusting of the citrus. Which circles round to the idea that the more poison is in food the more likely a human is to eat it. This is also displayed through the foods known as chocolate and peppermint both of which are known to be poisonous amongst most earthly animals meanwhile humans eat it for its taste.

Rise of the Titans ending rewrite

Trollhunters is one of my favorite shows of all time, and 3 below and Wizards are really good as well. Unfortunately, the film that ended the series ended on a low note. I liked the the film itself, not nearly as good as the shows that proceeded it, but decent and if it were not for the ending it would have been a serviceable ending. However, the ending ruined the movie. Having Jim Lake restart the Tales of Arcadia series from the very beginning and making Toby the new troll hunter was a very bad decision. Not only was there an episode of Trollhunters that shows that the world would be screwed if Jim never became the troll hunters, but it also undoes all the the character development everyone aside from Jim went through and made the deaths of allies like Drall less impactful. After some time of thinking I also thought of other problems that the film had that made the film unwatchable compared to the shows. So here, I want to create a new ending for Rise of the Titans to hopefully end the series on a better note. This post will just discuss a possible new ending if they had to keep everything else, because as bad as the other things are, the ending was my biggest gripe with the film, but I will do another post where I rewrite the film altogether. So here is my ending rewrite of Rise of the Titans.

After defeating Belroc, Jim goes to check on Toby only to see him close to death. Not only that, despite being dead, Belroc technology won as they got their titan to the core and the Earth as we know it will soon come to an end. Jim looks at the Krohnisfere which took a lot of damage and gets the idea to go back in time to stop all of this, however due to the damage it took, the user could only go back in time so far and Jim is the only one with Excalibur so he can't go back otherwise no one will be able to stop Belroc. Knowing this, Jim decides to use the kronenfere to go back in time to the train fight at the start of the film and use his new amulet to defeat Belroc and Skrel, preventing all the death and destruction they caused. After the battle, we cut to some time in the future were we see what the gang have been up to. Nari forms a new Arcane order that hopefully won't go evil and destroy the world. Jim, Toby, Claire, Eli and Krel head off to college. Douxie becomes the new master wizard looking over everything with Archie by his side. Aja takes Steve with her to Akiridion-5 were they run the planet in piece, occasionally visiting Earth to visit their friends. And finally, Blinky and Arrrgh along side some of the other trolls find a new home for them and the other trolls. The film then closes with Jim looking at his amulet and deciding to keep it so that no matter what, Earth will always have a protector. The End.

So what did you guys think, did I improve the ending or did I make it worse.

I think we all agree RotT is bad, and a lot of us hate the ending but I wanna talk about it.

I’ve seen some people say it makes sense Jim would go farther back than the start of the movie. The idea is why would he only save those that died in the movie when he could also save Aja and Krel’s parents? And Draal??

But my issue is, following that logic, why not go back to before Kanjigar even died? Why not keep the amulet from being up for grabs in the first place?

Jim can’t just go back to before anything bad happened because there’s always something bad even further back that COULD be fixed.

A large theme of the whole trilogy is that this is the timeline we’re stuck with, you can’t go back and change things. Multiple Trollhunters episodes are specifically about why Jim had to be the one to pick up the amulet, and a fixed timeline is what Wizards is ALL ABOUT.

Killing off so many characters in the movie didn’t make sense, but if they really wanted to stick with it they could’ve ended with grief themes. There could’ve been a message about continuing to live while the people you love are gone, about how sometimes people die and there’s nothing you can do to fix it.

All going back in time does is render the entire series null other than giving Jim a bunch of mental baggage to sort through on his own.

12. Who gets up the earliest? Who has the worst sleep schedule? Who is the sleepiest?

Okay, so Douxie is the early riser. It comes from years of Merlin instilling that in him. He's up at 7 am sharp, unless previous night's activities prompt him to stay in bed and cuddle.

Carter on the other hand despises waking up early. He doesn't like it. Maybe it's because he usually stays up until 3 am working on god knows what. More than once in the span of their relationship, Douxie’s had to physically drag him to bed. Carter definitely has the worst sleep schedule.

The sleepiest... mmm, I think it's Carter. Carter definitely gives "Sleepy golden retriever boyfriend" vibes. He's also a coffee addict

16. What's their favorite "domestic bliss" moment? Do they cook/clean together? Do they like to go out shopping together?

I think their favorite kind of domestic bliss is definitely in the kitchen. They take turns doing the dishes, but Carter is a better cook so he usually takes care of dinners and stuff. Douxie likes to gently hug him from behind, and just be together while Carter is cooking. They both love it, actually.

25. What is their dream home? Do they buy a place together? Who plans the decorations and who does the heavy lifting?

Well, they, collectively as a team, all move into Camelot. It became their base of operations, and then later on Toby was like, "Guys we should just live here. It's easier." Because Douxie had been talking about finding an apartment in Arcadia, but you adult stuff paying rent and whatever. But Toby’s suggestion kind of stuck so one by one they all congregated to the castle and they live there now!

Douxie and Carter moved in first, because everyone else was contemplating college and what they wanted for their futures. And since Douxie and Carter’s whole thing is literally just "protecting the earth" they didn't have to think about any of that for themselves. Really the only future plans they're worrying about is their wedding, so...

But moving in was fun! They enjoyed it! Some of the rooms in the castle in an area they started to call "the residency" got semi-remodeled so they have modern bathrooms and stuff. Krel endlessly complained when they were planning the pipework.

Buuuttt yeah! They like having their own space. Douxie felt very nostalgic living in the castle again. Carter was just happy they could actually live together again. First time in decades.

Does Jim get his Armodrillo form? How does everyone react to the yellow armored digging alien?

Yup! During Season 1 of 3Below, the school gets an exchange student that is actually a Talpadean! A misunderstanding between the student, Krel and Aja do happen as the Ms Birdie incident gave em trust issues. Things do clear up before the student has to head back home but Jim does get a sample for the Omnitrix. You can identify his from Ben by the dark teal striped across his back and tail like a banded armadillo.

His Armodrillo acts like a professional building constructor and wrecker with the attitude of the rare cool college professor. Jim can easily tell the faults in areas or certain structures which he often exploits battle wise. Sometimes builders go to him if they're really unsure of a building's structural stability and need advice.

Even people who aren't interested in such topics get drawn in to listen as Armodrillo makes sound fun. Don't be surprised if any trolls new to digging get to sent over to Jim for tips.

Since a couple of Tales of Arcadia characters have appeared at the school I was wondering, is Stuart there? He had his own business in Arcadia Oaks so I could see him staying there to run his electronic store and Mexican Food Truck. Maybe a weird character to ask about, but Blinky is there as a teacher so I wouldn't be surprised if other members of the supporting cast showed up at the school.

Also, switching shows real quick is Steven Universe the only one from his show at the school? Like is Connie back in Beach City since she is actually fairly well adjusted by the end of the show. And how much contact does Steven have with his friends and family from Beach City?

Oh yeah, Stuart visits the school pretty regularly. He still lives in Arcadia but uses one of Krel's portals to make the trip. He also helps Grunkle Stan when the school when they need to forge documents. As for Connie, she's actually not in Beach City anymore, after Steven left she got an early start on college. Her attending the McGucket and Pines school is something they've discussed however. Steven texts her and everyone else back home pretty regularly, and he'll video chat with someone at least once a week.

More College Krel (and Seamus!)

Hey! Remember my college Krel headcanons? Well, me and @lizzylucky started talking about Krel and Seamus in college and we decided we have to share so… under the cut!

First of all, obviously, at some point Krel and Seamus compete with each other to see who can stay awake the longest. Seamus is sure he’ll win because he’s seen Krel pass out in, like, the bushes or a bookshelf after an all-nighter or two. Krel is sure he’ll win because he’s seen Seamus sleep in class, like, all the time. Krel does win, but he also drinks enough energy drinks and, like, doesn’t sleep long enough that he gets hospitalised. Steve threatens to tell Aja and Seamus’s mom if they do it again, which is by far enough to get them to not do it again.

They do a lot of proving the professors wrong. It’s usually Krel’s idea and usually involves alcohol and/or energy drinks and enough spite to kill a man point blank.

No one’s sure if they sleep. Sometimes, you’ll see Krel and/or Seamus walking by outside the window then passing back by in like thirty minutes with a bunch of random stuff they may or may not have gotten from one of the labs. It’ll be 3 in the morning and you’ll be walking to get pizza or something and you’ll pass Krel and Seamus with three armfuls of something like plastic tubing, or, on one memorable occasion, probably a hundred mechanical pencils. You probably exchange a mutual nod of “none of us should be up at this hour” and continue on your way. Yes, you noticed Krel had four arms. No, you’re not going to ask.

Krel’s sister comes to visit a few times – football star Steve Palchuk’s girlfriend – and you’re pretty sure she had a sword or something. And her dog might be purple.

Krel begrudgingly goes to Steve’s football games, because they’re friends, and Seamus inevitably follows. They end up tinkering with a device that may or may not be a bomb and disappearing for the rest of the weekend.

One time, first semester, there’s a mysterious BOOM! from their dorm room, and then no one sees them for a week. Rumours go around that they finally went and blew themselves up and the university’s covering it up, but then they show up to Intro to Physics with proof that alternate universes do exist. This is not uncommon. Rumour has it they did an entire semester’s worth of homework in a week so they’d have more free time. No one doubts it. They almost never miss class, but they do tend to be late and bring a bunch of nonsensical items with them so they can, as usual, build something borderline or genuinely impossible to prove a professor wrong.

They have most of their classes together and no one understands how they have such good enrolment times. Some say they hacked the system. Others say they bribed all the physics professors with cool tech. No one knows.

Krel is in student theatre, of course, and he’s in every play be it acting or working lights and sound. No one knows how he manages it since he’s always building something or being dragged somewhere by Seamus and/or Steve. Seamus shows up to all of Krel’s plays, and sometimes helps with tech. The theatre department loves them because their tech needed and update and they went all out. Krel could probably have set up a completely automated system for all things tech, but he thought it was important to get others involved so he didn’t.

At one point they do a sci-fi play, and Krel hooks them up with Akiridion tech on the condition they don’t ask about it and don’t tell anyone who gave it to them. Obviously, free sci-fi tech is awesome so they go for it. Everyone involved in student theatre is convinced he’s an alien until someone goes, “What if Seamus is the alien and Krel’s just covering for him?” at which point it becomes a betting pool and debate at cast/crew parties. Krel and Seamus think it’s hilarious and do their best to prove both theories right at the same time. People who aren’t in theatre but have friends who are tend to be wary of the Tarron-Johnson duo because of the rumour mill about the alien debates and also hearing about how well they acted out this death scene, it’s like they’d experienced it in real life.

If you look at their notebooks in class, they’re writing in Akiridion and they’re almost never writing notes. Any other person just thinks they made up a language. Eventually, people overhear them talking about Akiridion-5, which vaguely reminds someone about a website some Arcadian kid made about “Akiridion Science Fiction” or something. Theatre kids joke Akiridion must be where Krel and/or Seamus is from. Other people think it’s some weird Arcadia Oaks club.

Anyone dedicated enough - including lots of theatre kids and one junior physics major who wants to make aliens her honours thesis - interview (read: interrogate) everyone they can find from Arcadia Oaks. Steve Palchuk refuses to talk, but given how close he seems to both of them this is unsurprising. Jim Lake - another possible cryptid, some say they'd seen him turn tall and blue so there's rumours he's the same type of alien as Krel - also doesn't say much, nor does his girlfriend, who's one of the few people in theatre who isn't super invested in this whole thing (she knows, she must know, that's why). One person tells them Seamus and Krel used to hate each other. No one believes that person.

After a couple years, incoming freshman are greeted with confusion in every club and class and group they join. There's constantly intense talk about these two kids who may or may not have been aliens that travelled through different dimensions, visited both the past and the future, supposedly went to another planet every other week, wrote in a made-up language, used nonsense words, and were somehow involved in the theatre department's rise to popularity as a completely advanced experience the year before. Krel and Seamus don't do anything about it because half the school thinks it's a hoax and none of the students who don't are being taken seriously anywhere.

After they graduate, they still volunteer with the school a bunch so eventually it goes from "students might be aliens" to "those grad TAs might be aliens" to eventually "Professor Johnson is probably an alien and so is his best friend (husband? no one knows? unclear?) who's here more often than not.”

(No one ever puts together that Seamus Johnson might be a wizard, which is probably for the best.)

Steve: Steve doesn’t know what he wants to do next he knows he wants to keep being a hero but that doesn’t exactly pay he spends his spare time trying to figure out what it is he wants to do with his life (i gave him back toothache because i can)

Claire: Claire is also going to the local community college with Eli Krel and Jim she’s majoring in theater and is having the time of her life as Douxie’s apprentice

—Steve has an unhealthy obsession with candy canes, he eats a whole bag every year.

—And Eli always complains about how he'll get cavities but he secretly loves it cause his kisses taste like peppermint.

Claire copes after the events of Rise of the Titans, and maybe she's not coping as well as she thought.

And as the last remaining remnants of Camelot crash from the sky, Claire stares on, watching as the rubble rains down around her. Fire and brimstone mixed with the coldest of ice, the perfect combination of entropy and order. 

Her ears are ringing. She knows the world must be awash with sound, of the crackling of fire and the melting of ice. Claire can’t hear a single thing. 

The hardest thing about defeating the Arcane Order is the nothing that comes afterwards. 

All of the horrors she’s seen over the past year unfold before her eyes night after night. She’s given her life, her youth to this centuries old war that has finally come to completion. 

For the past two years, her whole life has been a rollercoaster of action, only for it all to come to a screeching stop without any warning. The whole world nearly ended, but hardly anyone outside of Arcadia is aware of that fact. No, instead the world keeps turning as if nothing out of the ordinary has occurred. 

But really, why would the earth stop just because her entire world has collapsed in on itself? She may be the protagonist of her own story, but she is only one being in an infinitely vast universe. It’s stupid to expect life to wait for her to catch up. 

So she wakes up in the morning and goes to school, as if there isn’t an ever-present weight on her chest that refuses to go away.  

It’s grueling work, dealing with this constant fear, especially since she knows she’s being completely illogical. Every single member of the Arcane Order is not only dead, but she watched each and every one of them die. And even if she hadn’t seen them die with her own two eyes, she felt the moment the demigods ceased to exist, the sudden disappearance of the most powerful magical beings that ever were and that ever will be. The world’s safe. Everyone she loves is safe. She’s safe.

Life has returned to normal and so has she. 

So she goes to class and does her homework, living her life to the best of her ability. Day after day, maintaining a facade of peace and tranquility. But under the surface anxiety creeps up her back and settles into her skin, making home in her bones, becoming her till she no longer knows what is Claire and what is fear. 

She sits in Pre-Calc, whatever Ms. Janeth is droning on and on about drifting in one ear and right out the other. Numbers and equations swirl before her eyes. It’s all such a mess. 

Claire glances over at Toby who’s diligently scribbling down notes next to her. She’s lucky that they have this class together. Unfortunately they’re at that point in their academic careers where Team Trollhunter has been split up due to their varying scholarly strengths and weaknesses. The only classes that Claire has with Jim are AP Composition and Literature and P.E. It’s lonely not having Jim and Toby with her all the time. But they make a point to sit with each other at lunch, along with Krel and Steve who have joined their gang of misfits. Those few hours where she can guarantee being around Jim and Toby are probably the only thing keeping her sane at this point. 

It’s ridiculous really. Feeling the way she is. 

The Arcane Order is dead. Morgana’s dead. Bular and Gunmar are dead. Every single enemy they have ever faced has been vanquished. She has nothing to fear, and even if she did, there is a whole network of people who are not only available, but willing to fight and to protect Arcadia. 

But there’s nothing threatening them in the first place. For the first time in nearly a year, they are facing not a single life threatening foe. Really the worst thing she has faced in the past month is college applications and SAT prep classes. 

So why does she still feel this way? Her life is finally normal again, this should be a piece of cake in comparison to the war she just fought in, so why is this so difficult?

Claire glances up at the clock, sighing as she realizes only a few minutes have passed since she last checked the time. It’s near torture sitting here in this cramped desk, in this too small classroom. She taps her pencil against the desk, only stopping as Ms. Janeth shoots her a pointed look. Claire blows a stray strand of hair out of her face, how much longer is this class anyways? 

Why is this even so hard? She’s never had this much trouble in school before. She hates it so much, this…this whatever it is that’s stopping her from going back to normal. The world is back to normal, so why isn’t she? It’s pathetic how hard of a time she’s having. 

Her grades are slipping. Not by much but enough that she will not hear the end of it from her parents if she doesn’t pick up the slack by the time report cards get sent out. 

Claire bounces her leg up and down, her small desk jiggling from the motion, making a soft tapping noise against the floor. Her eyes shoot up to the clock. Another two minutes have passed. She just barely manages to resist the urge to slam her head on her desk.

She could just leave. No one would be able to stop her from opening a portal and slipping through to the darkness of the shadow realm. It’s tempting to run away, to embrace the solitude of a realm that is hers and hers alone. 

But she can’t, as much as she longs to. Her B- in this class hangs over her head. Threatening to tumble down to a C+ at any moment. She needs to focus.  

But it’s so warm in here. Burning even. Students all surrounding her, pressed in on every side. The sterile white walls burn her eyes, the dull drone of the AC unit rings in her ears.

Claire shoots her hand up in the air, not even waiting for Ms. Janeth to call on her.

“May I please go use the restroom?” Her words blend together, rushing out as fast as she can say them. Ms. Janeth blinks at Claire, staring at her in surprise, before nodding minutely. 

Claire stands up so quickly her chair clatters to the floor behind her. She barely spares a second to grab her bag before she is rushing out of the classroom.

The classroom door swings shut behind her as fresh air greets her face. She steps out into the blazing sun, letting the warmth wash over her, freeing her from the stuffiness of the classroom. It’s warmer than normal for September, but really when is the weather not like this in southern California? 

Claire shrugs off her jacket as she walks around campus, closing her eyes as a warm breeze rustles through the trees. Birds chirp off in the distance, nature blooms and grows. Her mind drifts as she wanders around. Time ceases to exist, she’s freed from the restrictions of school and responsibilities. Free of the anxieties of life.

When she comes to, she finds herself at the edge of campus. Standing on the border between the school and the parking lot. Claire takes a brief glance back at the school, hesitating for just a moment, before opening a portal and stepping off the sidewalk, tumbling into the darkness of the shadow realm.

There’s a park on the outskirts of Arcadia Oaks proper. Her mom used to take her there when she was a kid. Claire would spend hours running around the grassy hills, making up games and stories to entertain herself. 

It’s abandoned now, not many parents want to trek all the way out of town when there are plenty of nice playgrounds within the actual town. Now foliage grows over the wooden play structure, the once nicely paved pathway is covered in weeds and dirt. It’s a sad sight to see, but Claire hardly ever comes here herself anymore. Maybe she should come here more often, pay tribute to something that once gave her so much joy. 

It’s night now, or early evening. The sun is just setting, casting the world in rays of orange and pink. She’s lying down on the grass, watching as the sun fades from view. Her skin itches from where it meets the ground below. Her hair is going to be hell to wash, bits of dirt and grass mingled in with her thick, dark, locs. 

She lifts her head at the sound of the crackling of dirt, only lying back down as she sees Toby, wheeling himself across the path below her. She closes her eyes, before getting up, not bothering to dust the grass off of herself, scuffing her shoes against the ground as she walks down to the dirt path. 

“You didn’t want us to find you,” Toby says. It’s not a question so she doesn’t answer.

Toby licks his lips, purposefully not meeting her gaze. He drums his fingers against the armrest of his wheelchair. “I don’t like not knowing where you are,” he starts. “I’m not saying this to guilt you into something, but it makes me feel safer knowing that you are safe.”

Claire rolls her eyes. “I have my magic. I can handle myself.”

“I know you can. But I’m still adjusting to my new situation.”

“Oh,” she blushes and averts her gaze. 

Toby sighs. “Yeah.”

Claire shivers in the cool night air. She fumbles for her jacket only to realize it’s missing. “Do you want me to wheel you back home?” She asks, hands hovering over the handles of the wheelchair. 

Toby nods. “If you don’t mind, this isn’t the easiest place for me to get to.”

Claire hums in thought. “I’ll bring up repaving the path to my mom.”

She walks in silence, focusing her energy on pushing Toby and navigating back home.

“Did you know Jim is getting an emotional support dog?” Toby says, breaking the silence.

Claire blinks in surprise. “I didn’t know. Did he tell you that?” She says trying not to let jealousy color her words.

“No, Barbara told me. Said Jim didn’t know how to bring it up.”

“Oh, well,” Claire pauses. “Good for him.”

“I think I’m going to try to get help too,” Toby says so quietly it's almost a whisper.

Claire hums in acknowledgement, silently urging Toby to continue.

“Mr. Strickler’s been talking with Nana. They uh, found a therapist that won’t immediately laugh me out of the room when I start talking about trolls and aliens and magic.” 

“That’s good. I’m happy for you Toby,” Claire smiles, though it doesn’t reach her eyes.

“I could,” Toby starts. “I could pass along their contact info if you want?”

Claire stops pushing the wheelchair in surprise. She opens her mouth to reply but no sound comes out.

“You don’t have to say yes,” Toby reassures her, turning around so that the two are face to face. 

Claire closes her eyes. “Toby, how did you find me?”

Toby raises an eyebrow. “You really don’t know?” He asks to which she shakes her head. Toby laughs, bright and cheerful. “Claire, I'm your best friend. I know you.”

Tears tickle at the edges of Claire’s eyes. She chokes on a laugh, and nods her head. “Yeah uh, actually that would be great.”

Toby smiles, his eyes crinkling at the edges. “Could you do me a favor and bend down a bit?” He says, with a mischievous look on his face.

Claire raises an eyebrow but does as instructed. Toby reaches up a hand just behind her ear, she feels some sort of movement and he gives her a look of mock surprise. “Oh my god what is this?” He says theatrically, moving his hand back in front of her face to show a business card held in between his fingers. “Looks like the therapist’s business card was behind your ear this entire time!”

“How’d you do that?” Claire breathes as she takes the business card from his hands.

Toby gives her finger guns and winks. “Magic!”

Claire laughs, not quite at peace, not yet at least. But happier than she’s been in a long time.

Ok so I’m rewatching Tales of Arcadia with my family and we just finished 3 Below and I heard Nana Domzalski say when Toby goes to college she’ll go like on Akiridion with Vex, and I’m sorry, but now I want to write a college AU fic that’s just Toby and Krel going to college together. Toby majors in film, because he’s going to make the Kleb or Alive series real if it kills him. Krel, naturally, majors in Physics. The funniest thing about this idea to me is Krel Tarron existing in a college classroom. Like, he has to take a class on space for something, and he goes to his counselor like ‘I shouldn’t have to take this’ and his counselor is like ‘I’m sorry but otherwise you won’t have the prerequisites to take the more advanced classes’ and Krel just goes ‘I’m sorry, is BEING FROM ANOTHER PLANET not enough of a prerequisite for you?’ But, of course, since this is the American Education System, no, no it’s not, so he ends up having to take an entire semester-long class about space and I mean like the professor’s never even BEEN to space, so really, he should be the one teaching the class. At some point, the professor mentions how wormholes are theorized, but never really proven to be scientifically possible, and Krel just interrupts, mid-lecture, like the absolute mad lad he is, and goes ‘that’s not true’ and the professors like ‘oh really, and why do you say that?’ Like super sarcastically, and he just responds ‘I built one in what I believe you call junior year. It wasn’t that hard.’ And the professor’s like ‘bullshit’ and one random student’s just like ‘no hes right. Don’t you watch the news?’ And apparently the professor does not, and the student goes ‘yeah no that’s Krel Tarron of House Tarron of Akiridion-5. He’s literally a king. Like he’s royalty on another planet. What do you mean you didn’t know that I thought we just kind of silently agreed we weren’t going to talk about it’ and the professor’s like ‘stop fucking around were in class’ and so Krel just… drops his transduction. For their final exam, they have to write a paper and give a presentation on a planet of their choice outside of the solar system, and Krel actually doesn’t write his on Akiridion-5, but the other Student, who knew who he was, did, and they, very sheepishly, asks for Krel’s help. Turns out, the student, who is a very rad non-binary music Major who’s just here because they love space, is a bit of a fan of Akiridion-5. They’ve been learning about it and researching it since the defeat of Morando in Arcadia. They’re fast friends, and Krel happily helps this very cool person, and what better way to research Akiridion-5 than to visit? So he takes them to Akiridion-5, introduces them to Aja, who is flourishing in her leadership position, and everyone else, too, and they’re like losing their mind. The presentation goes great. They end up becoming quite the composer, and they end up working with Krel to compose the music for the Kleb or Alive series after they all graduate. Krel doesn’t do the whole romance thing, and they agree, but more than friends? More than friends is fine. QPR acquired.

Anyways, I think I got a little (read: a lot) carried away, I just think the idea is neat.

Moving On...

Hey y’all! This is my first fanfic I wrote for the TOA fandom and I’m excited to finally share! Since I felt pretty unsatisfied and disappointed by the ending of ROTT, I felt the urge to write my own version rott fix it fic. This is a pretty bittersweet ending I came up with where Jim makes a different decision with the Kronisphere. I hope this provides you with closure and most importantly, enjoy!

Heart Shattered, speechless, Jim just couldn't accept that Toby was gone. Tobes, his lifelong best friend since they were kids, gone. If it weren't for his sacrifice, Jim wouldn't have defeated Bellrec and saved the world. When he finally let go of Toby's hand and stood up, he was hugged tightly by Blinky, his surrogate father. He couldn't stop trembling as everyone around him cried. Claire ran to him for a comfort hug. He knew that no one was able to recover from everything they've been through. He was already missing Toby now.

"Master Jim," started Blinky as everyone looked at the green ball rolled towards them. "The Kronisphere" Jim wiped his tears and knelt down to pick it up.

                        The Kronisphere will make everything right.

Nari's soft voice rang in Jim's head as he figured out its purpose. Time. He could start all over and bring back everyone he loves. Toby, Strickler, Nari, Nomura. Not just them, but everyone he'd lost on his trollhunting journey, Merlin, Draal, Vendel. He noticed everyone around him staring at him waiting for him to make a decision.

"It's your choice, Master Jim," Blinky smiled at him. "Just know, you will always be my son. My magnificent son." Jim knew that behind that smile was a lot of wariness. Aja and Steve held hands tightly and lovingly as they looked on. Then there was Claire, the love of his life who stood across from him with teary eyes. They've been through so much together and he couldn't ask for a better soul mate.

The heroes of Arcadia have all been through so much together. They defeated Gum-Gums, Morgana, Morando, the Arcane Order. Jim turned to look at his fallen best friend and burst to tears once more. He and Toby went through so much in their trollhunting adventures and have had so many victories together leading up to this. Jim clenched the Kronisphere in his fist.

"No" he said as he tossed it. "We've made it this far. We've finally won! We can't just go back and let that all go," With Excalibur in his hand, he lifted it into the air and delivered the blow that would destroy the Kronisphere once and for all to prevent it from ever falling into the wrong hands.

Jim had never been this determined before despite all the pain he felt. "Toby and everyone we lost sacrificed their lives to save the world we live in. If we go all the way back, we not only throw that away, but we bring back everything we fought to destroy." Jim paused and took a deep breath. "We need to honor their memory by moving forward and rebuilding Arcadia for the better,"

He finally knelt down by his best friend and held him tightly in his arms one last time. "Goodbye Tobes," he whispered as tears fell from his eyes onto his friend's cheeks. "Thank you for everything buddy, you'll always be in my heart." Finally everyone knelt down and paid their respects to their fallen friend. Aaarrrgghh, finally recovering from his mental breakdown, approached and knelt down by Toby, grabbing his hand. "Goodbye... wingman,"

In the days to follow, on a dark, gloomy morning, the remaining trollhunters gathered along with the Arcadian citizens to mourn those they have lost along with the destruction of their home. All dressed in black and surrounded by rubble and debris, they held hands and sought to comfort one another. 

After giving Toby the proper burial he deserved, Jim walked up to the podium and grabbed the mic, looking ahead at the grieving audience. Darci grieved her beloved T.P. as her father and Mary held her tight to comfort her. Nancy Domzalski wailed uncontrollably in Varvatos's giant arms. "I should've said goodbye to my Toby Pie when he went off to college," she sobbed harder as Varvatos stroked her gray hairs with his three fingers. "Your grandson fought with valor and honor. He had... a glorious death," 

Claire stood with Barbara who was grieving her fiancé and they held hands as they looked towards Jim, encouraging him before his speech. He cleared his throat and finally spoke. 

"Tobias Domzalski was more than just my best friend and fellow Trollhunter, he was my brother. He's always been there for me  since we were kids. He always supported me in all my adventures and I know for a fact I wouldn't be the trollhunter I am today if it weren't for him. I couldn't have asked for anyone else to find the amulet that day in the canals. He was with me from the start, and he will always be with me," Jim placed his hand over his heart and looked up to the sky, smiling with tears in his eyes. "Rest in peace Tobes. I'll always remember you," 

As Jim stepped away from the podium, a round of applause along with sniffles came from the audience. Everyone walked towards the pictures of Arcadia's fallen heroes and placed flowers and other things they've remembered them with. 

Jim and Claire walked towards each other and reached out for a heartwarming hug.

"You did great up there," Claire whispered in his ear as she stroked his hair. He held her even tighter and buried his face in her shoulder. They looked at each other tearfully and lovingly as they held each other tight. 

"I love you Claire, always and forever," 

"I love you too, Jim Lake," 

They held each other once again, not intending on letting go anytime soon.

In the years to come, the citizens of Arcadia all worked together to rebuild their beloved home while Blinky and Aaarrrgghh rebuilt Heartstone Trollmarket from the revived heartstone, inviting the trolls from Hoboken, the quagawumps, and from all around the world to come help them and live there. The citizens of Arcadia were eventually welcomed to Trollmarket as friends and trolls would always be welcomed to Arcadia to spend the night with their fellow humans. 

As for the fallen heroes, they each had statues built in Arcadia. Despite the Hero's Forge always having previous Trollhunters chosen by Merlin, Toby had a statue of him built there by his wingman with his warhammer in his hand. To honor one of his valued customers, Stuart renamed his taco truck Toby D. Burritos. Strickler's portrait was hung at the school where everyone would see. The museum honored Nomura by showcasing troll, extraterrestrial, and magical history and promoting harmony. Last but not least, a vast, colorful garden was planted in the center of town in memory of Nari. Each and every one of their stories, along with those of everyone who fought for Arcadia and the world, would continue to be told for centuries to come. 

The remaining heroes of Arcadia all went their separate ways, but not after a heartfelt goodbye. They each promised to stay in touch and to unite wherever the fight takes them. Douxie traveled to Hong Kong after receiving a spare Horngazel from Trollmarket to save Archie and Charlemagne, always keeping a flower pot with him. Steve moved to Akiridion-5 to be with Aja and to become a co-Earthen ambassador with his fellow Creepslayer Eli. Nancy was unable to stay in Arcadia any longer on her own, so she moved to Akiridion-5 to be with Varvatos, but always kept her Toby-Pie in her heart. Krel stayed in Arcadia and helped advance the technology available on Earth and promoted further education on extraterrestrial presence at the high school. Barbara continued to save lives in the hospital while also strengthening ties between humans and Trollkind. She never stopped wearing Walt's engagement ring and always made sure to keep his memory alive. 

As for Jim and Claire, they eventually married and built their home in Arcadia. They had a girl, Deya Nuñez-Lake and a younger boy, Toby Nuñez-Lake. The two kids would never get bored of hearing their parents' trollhunting adventures and the story of Toby's heroism and sacrifice before bedtime. They were always eager to accompany their parents to Trollmarket and role play their parents' adventure with their favorite troll Aaarrrgghh. They also loved when Blinky would share trollkind's marvelous adventures from the start of time. 

Arcadia had become an attraction site known worldwide for all the crazy magic and extraterrestrial activity that people would crave to visit in their lifetimes. It may have been at peace in recent times, but that doesn't mean there wouldn’t be any future threats to come. But the trollhunters battled life-threatening wars in the past, and would be ready for whatever comes their way.

Thank you so much for reading this! This definitely took a huge toll on me to write and I was pretty emotional but writing this helped me cope with my disappointment with the movie’s ending. I do plan to do another fix it but with a happier ending where Toby and Strickler are alive so stay tuned!
