Collage for week of November 24...the joy of coast to coast

I recently found this collage in between two drawings having wondered where it had been for the last couple of decades? I had started making it back in 2005 on a flight from New York to California when they still let you have scissors on the plane. It was so much fun for six hours seeking, selecting and cutting out images from a magazine I had gotten at the bookstore in the airport earlier that morning. I was on my way to visit a friend to see her amazing senior art show. Being among her gorgeous drawings inspired me later that weekend to take all the images I had cut out and make this collage. I realized now that trip was the launch of what would eventually become my weekly passion to visual play, with scissors and glue in hand, letting my imagination show me the way in this new medium. What a joy to have been up in the clouds for an expansion to unfold in my art making from mostly drawing to include exploring the world of collage these last twenty years.

Even if that someone is yourself sometimes.

You are loved and it'll be okay, even though it may not be right now.. even though you may be trying to struggle to breathe and there are tears streaming down your face.

It's going to get there, and remember that you didn't lose power because you had a bad time.. you just had to stop carrying the world on your shoulders a moment yo have a snack.
