My Review: I think this is my favorite book in this series as the plot is quite complex and tightly knitted and there's some more evolution in the characters. I loved how Flora had some doubt about her sleuthing and Jack was feeling protective. I think that they're a lovely and very modern couple and like their relationship. The mystery is solid, there's a lot of suspects and twists that surprised me. The solution is satisfying and I didn't guess it. Can't wait to read the next story. Highly recommended. Wasim Bari

Wasim Bari   (born 23 March 1948, Karachi, Sindh) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played in 81 Tests and 51 ODIs from 1967 to 1984. Bari was a wicket-keeper and right-handed batsman. At the end of his 17-year career he was the most capped player in Pakistani Test history. His talent was first recognised in 1967 with members of the England under 25 team stating that he was the best keeper to come out of the South Asia. It was in England where he made his Test debut, with Colin Milburn being his first dismissal. With the bat he only managed 15.88 per innings in his career but played some famous innings for Pakistan. There were none more famous than his unbeaten 60 from number 11, in which he made a last wicket partnership of 133 with Wasim Raja. According to Tony Greig, commentator and former England captain, most people believe Alan Knott was the best wicket-keeper to have played the game in that era but Knott himself believed Bari was better than him.

Keeping records

In 1971 at Leeds, he equalled the then world record of 8 catches in a Test match. He was in the record books again in 1976/77 by stumpings 4 batsmen in a Test, against the Australians. In 1979 against New Zealand he caught 7 of the first 8 batsmen, creating a world record for most dismissals in a Test innings. He finished his Test career with 228 Test victims, the most by a Pakistani and to this day the most by a South Asian keeper.

Season two episode two is super dense with subplots, but I’m actually really into it?

Like, you’d think balancing the Maeve/Ola/Otis triangle, Otis’s developing relationship with his own sexual maturity, his personal needs, his partner’s needs, his mother Jean’s ongoing relationship with her new partner Jakob (the parent of Ola, Otis’ partner), her ambitions to reform the school’s sex education program and how these mirror her with her son while putting distance between them interpersonally, Otis’ difficulties adjusting to Jakob as a surrogate father figure, Otis & Eric’s friendship, Eric’s admirer the mysterious french student Rahim, Ola’s blossoming friendship with Lily, Maeve’s ongoing friendship with Aimee, her anxieties about committing to academic and personal success, Jackson’s ongoing relationship to Maeve now that they’ve separated, his relationship to academic pressure and success, and the school’s subpar sexual health curriculum and mixed quality of teaching overall, as well as making time to tell an entire short story reintroducing Adam into the season’s narrative, and introducing a romantic/sexual subplot between Colin & Emily, two of the teachers, would be a little much, even in fifty minutes... but it’s all remarkably balanced and fun and moving. This was maybe the first episode I’ve finished and struggled not o just chuck the next one on right away.
