My work gave us a couple days to work on crafts we don't usually do, so I spent some time trying to quilt! I've seen people quilting pre-printed panels, so made a design and got it printed to try with. (Pretty beginner friendly!) Then pieced together a smaller one (math hard). And finally messed around with some felt scraps. It was fun, but so hard not to engage the perfectionist part of my brain that wants to start over constantly.

Honestly I was too lazy to put prices on the rest of them, but I had fun naming them.

spent ages preparing to audition for a role I really really wanted and it's looking like (still unconfirmed) they might not even be holding auditions at all but have just given it to someone directly

which, meh, that sucks but that's the industry!

I'm just like now what? I spent a lot of my free time the last few months prepping and I genuinely don't know what to do with myself now!

modern au iroh, try as he might, cannot get his nephew into tea. this is because coffee exists and you know the fridge at home is filled with canned coffee that zuko drinks way too much of. he always has it black until he discovers he can mix in cayenne pepper into it. Everyone Hated That (except zuko).

much to iroh's distress, his niece likes coffee too. azula pretends she likes it black because it makes her seem more adult but in actuality it's too bitter for her. then she learns about the existence of Cold Brews and there's no going back from that. she is considerably more reasonable about her coffee consumption.

ty lee, yue, and sokka are fancy latte buddies. mai also drinks her coffee black (like her soul) but if you think she's going to set foot into a starbucks, she's going to kill you. independent coffee shops or bust. aang, toph, suki and katara prefer tea. they are officially iroh's favorite children.

(zuko will still drink his uncle's tea if he makes it. he was there for him a lot when he was recovering in the hospital. he guesses he can put up with his hot leaf juice.)

Got the form to apply for my final exams in spring! I’m pretty confident regarding my subject choices, except for the 5th. It’ll either be history or religion, I don’t know that yet; need to speak to both teachers.

Other than that I started the last study session for this term! Tomorrow morning is my last exam and then I’m done for this year :D (except for my term paper, but let’s ignore that for now). Not a minute after taking that picture I almost spilled coffee onto my iPad…Anyways- I’m fine with the grade I got on my math exam but quite pissed about the grade on my bio exam (it’s literally the same grade lmao). I have to work on these subjects, there’s no way around; I know I can do this.

Rest of my evening will be spent reviewing my history notes and trying to rest; I’m feeling a bit…weird?

the reoccurring tenet centers around doing you no 'unnecessary harm.' naturally, this is subject to his interpretation. your definition and his don't often overlap. he isn't deaf to your objections, though, in fact, he encourages them. he'd much prefer you spell out your thinking than leave him in the dark. if you make a compelling enough case, he'll relent. these minor victories mostly consist of you absolving innocent friends from his judgment.

you'll come to find out why your occasional run-ins left a lasting impression on you. it's because each second, behind that composed façade, he was weighing your fate on a scale that favored his interests over yours.

(and cinder gets to eat a home-cooked meal for probably the first time in her life. i need this to happen okay, hunger is her thing, let her eat!!)

Got out of work early 🥳 so I headed one of my favorite local cafes to work on my PowerPoint presentation, an overview of ANCA-associated vasculitides. It ended up going pretty well even though I was nervous. Looking forward to having the whole weekend off!
