olympics coming up…… athlete aus on the mind….. satoru as a swimmer….. unreasonably large wingspan…. huge hands..... thinks “official” competitions and tournaments are boring because he can’t use the goofy purple googly eyes goggles he likes to practice in…… practices at ungodly hours solely because he likes when the pool is empty because that means you’ll dip your feet in at the edge and be there to greet him with a kiss when he’s finished his laps….. they bring up the stats board and it’s just his name ten times before the next fastest person and he could still lap them, and even tho he’ll always put so much pressure on himself to be the best, it’s worth it to have you hold his face and tell him you’re proud of him... he’s gotten so much merch from events and sponsorships and he used to think they just created clutter but that all changes when you start to wear his clothes (esp the ones with his name on it… he’s not proud to admit that does Something to him)…. always looks up to the stands when he finishes a race and if he knows you’re not there, he looks right at the camera, draws an infinity sign with his fingers, and blows a kiss (which, some commentators routinely call “unsportsmanlike conduct” but he doesn’t care, and always, publicly says he’ll pay the fees if it means blowing a kiss to his girl at home)

I just remembered that up until 5th grade, all of the sports teams I was in weren't separated by gender. I played basketball and baseball with boys. And we did just fine.

It wasn't until 6th grade when they segregated it by gender. It didn't make sense to me. I was now in softball instead of baseball, because "softball is for girls" and "baseball is for boys" (which confused me bc my dad was on an adult softball team).

Now, my brother's all-male team didn't win a single game. My all-girls team won every single one.

They presented the boys' team with this HUGE trophy, and if you wanted replicas of it, they were $30 each.

My team was presented with a very small trophy. Extras were $5.

That's when I decided gender-segregated sports were bullshit.

You ever think about how both Wymack and Andrew are the type of people to act grumpy and annoyed and irritated but they actually love you so so so so much, and will quietly give you everything you need to be okay. If you try to thank them they will treat that as a bigger inconvenience than the help they just gave you. They will call you an idiot and a waste of space but they will drive to pick you up in the middle of the night if you call.

As much as I support poly, Ryu and Zen are color-coded boys IN LOVE

(But not as complicated as Ryu's relationship with "his brother" or Q's relationship with "his boss" --- if I ignore it all, it simply doesn't exist)

Jedi is on the team and will be at this retreat

But Ryu and Zen will be too busy with their own color-coded love story being tied up together and whatnot

I love this new kind of TMNT fandom SO MUCH. I juuuuust barely know how to use Tumblr, but I feel so spoiled here now lol! You are all so creative and talented and amazing and I love everything you guys make 😭

I wish younger-me had known that the fandom would grow to this point, or that the fanbase would expand beyond my cowaboomer demographic, or that someday I would actually know more than just one other female fan.

I drifted away from TMNT after I graduated college/fell out of touch with that friend. I'm so glad Rise brought me back to TMNT, and that @sugarpasteltmnt has helped her decrepit old sister navigate Tumblr so I can enjoy all of your art/gifs/comics/theories/fanfics.

I don't know what the point of this post is lol. I'm just so psyched, getting back into TMNT has been a fucking blast

Here’s the thing. We can assume that Williams knew about the one-reserve rule from the start, and yet she took on two reserves, knowing one would be cut. It's clear from her interactions with Nick and the way she talks about him that she's betting on him, but she kept Eugene as a safety net just in case Nick couldn't improve fast enough. She's using her students as pawns to win against her old rival rather than seeing them as people she's supporting in achieving great things.

The way she approached cutting Eugene was so insensitive and shitty that it feels fucking malicious. She chose to publically cut him from the team, and to make it worse, she started it off by saying she needed the best on the team, then immediately gave the slot to Nick. That is simply an unnecessary prelude--there is no reason she needed to 'justify' her choice by outright telling Eugene he's not good enough.

Yes, Nick fenced better at camp, and yes, Williams is justified in her decision. What she's not justified in is stringing Eugene along when she knew from the start he was deadweight only to publically kick him off the team right before they actually start the season. Her treatment of him was callous and--hopefully unintentionally--cruel.
