It would be interesting to write a time loop story where something small actually did change each time, but it takes the character a while to notice it, and longer to figure out what to do about it.

Maybe a single plant is getting taller while the others look exactly the same. Maybe the paint/clay/etc for an art project are actually drying while other things are still wet. Maybe one piece of food left out is actually getting moldy among the rest.

What's special about that one? Is it tied into the reason for the time loop, and the key to break it?

What else is subtly different?

Took some pictures of my rock collection today, to share with you!

Green vs Red rocks! I have no idea what they are, I always assume it's some sort of jasper, but I am obsessed with green rocks. Green rocks are my first priority and after I started finding some, nothing else mattered to me.

White vs black rocks!

White ones in this picture are all white quartz, which means they're translucent! If I put them in front of a source of light, the light will shine right trough them. Also they make the prettiest sound bumping into each other. I haven't found any truly black rocks, these are just the closest, and while I think the top ones could be jasper (because they're waxy to touch), the bottom big one is basalt, which is cooled magma, and I find that extremely cool.

Patchy vs Streaky colored rocks! The first ones have cow-like patches and are so so pretty, the top one looks a little like a wing! The streaky remind me of fire and amber, they look painted. Somehow mostly red ones have this feature.

Mixed with quartz vs Different color on the inside! First one is rocks that randomly have a streak of quartz running trough them; if I put them in front of the light, quartz part is translucent, while the rest of the rock doesn't let light trough! Brown ones with blue color on the inside, I think is jasper (I think everything is jasper) because it can come in multiple colors. But I always find brown with blue or some light brown color inside!

Rocks with different colored streaks and my green to red gradient! Streaked rocks are also my favourite, I'm obsessed, I will collect any rock with streaks on it, they look like they've been a part of the mountain or some long lasting process of layers being created into rock, like a souvenir.

Quick question — how old is IM!Mugs supposed to be? Cuz in my mind he's IM!Cup's twin (even tho they're really not), yet I vividly remember this point in The Labyrinth Arc™ where IM!Cup is reminiscing about their parents and through his memory we're shown he was at the youngest a toddler when IM!Mugs was born, maybe even a little older (my headcannon is that he was 5 years old, but to each their own)

So yea. I'm very curious now (it WILL affect a story I'm making. probably at least)

It’s the weekend! And that means I had some time to get a closer look at the taxidermy owl that was being given away for free in my apartment lobby.

I mean just look at this boy! How could I resist?

He is very obviously a Great Horned Owl, which just so happens to be the official bird of my Province. And the first thing I did after picking this guy up was double-check the laws about possessing raptor parts, and best I can tell is having a pre-existing owl mount is just fine.

I have no practical experience with taxidermy, but I’m hoping to patch him up.

The main issue is that his left wing is broken. Or more accurately almost completely ripped off. The skin on the underside of the wing connecting to the body is intact, but the skin under the scapulars is just barely attached.

I couldn’t get great photos as I didn’t want to damage the skin any further. But you can at least see that it’s stuffed with straw, and one of the wire apertures holding it up. I couldn’t tell through my gloves if the wire is snapped or just bent.

I couldn’t tell much about the state of the skin through the gloves (I need to grab some nitrile gloves next time I’m out), but I would say it’s almost but not quite paper dry.

His face is a little wonky, but far from the worst I’ve seen on older taxidermy. The plaster in the beak seems a bit sloppy and is crumbling.

Here’s some more pictures of the wire aperture. The end on his head is usually covered by the feathers. I’m assuming the wires protruding the tail were meant to hold it up but just need to be repositioned back into place.

The base is made of wood, covered in some sort of plaster or epoxy, and hollow. I was hoping to find a date or something in there, but no such luck.

So far all I’ve done is start a slow and careful wipe-down to get all the dust off of him.

been thinking of Loki as a vengeful ghost/demon that tries to kill Thor after dying on Jotunheim except instead of killing Thor straightup Thor's on a quest following a trail of weird clues and strange happenings across multiple realms sort of? so Loki is just leading him around not showing himself but very much heartbroken in the distance about how Thor just 'moved on'. Meanwhile on Thor's end it's very evident in how Thor handles quests once Loki is gone that he still follows all the advice and suggestions Loki made, and tries to consider what Loki would have done when he does things.

but because hes still 100% Locked In on his entire plan zhonglis also just . simultaneously dual wielding his coy-ass "i like you and am taking it slow to Savor this developing relationship (Also bc of the Geo Archon Shaped Elephant In The Room) except am old as shit so my languid sense of time inadvertedly Automatically turns my behavior into an equivalent of the dark souls boss of playing hard2get" act (cue "waddup im ajax 24 and im in fucking agony with this hot funeral consultant". (hes in remission not in recovery guys.) so like here we are. he requested notes from the tsaritsa Personally on the character of her 11th just to ensure every move was painstakingly crafted to draw him Specifically to the intended conclusion without risking revealing his true identity .

except. the thing . neither he. nor the tsaritsa . would have been informed of . is that this simply isnt childes first fucking rodeo waking up an eldritch city sized sea creature . and he is very well aware of this fact . he woke that beautiful wonderful beloved huge fucking narwhal up by himself had his brain chemistry Immediately and Irrevocably rewired as a direct consequence do you fucking think hes somehow stopped thinking about that singular moment for even a second since then???

so what actually ends up happening in reality is theyll be on another definitely-serious-business-not-just-a-date and zhonglis going to get down to like dialogue selection part 10 of the 86 step conversation tree at Most where hes only beginning to like Vaguely allude to the key pieces of information involved but it turns out Because Hes That Guy (TM) And Has Been There Done That Before childes basic pattern recognition and sense of irony simply proceed to kick in Way ahead of time and hes Immediately perking up like Hey wouldnt it be really fucking funny if i wake up an eldritch sea beast Again . like just in case. as a last ditch effort .

and zhonglis just sitting there seeing the gears turn in his head as they enjoy their cringe fucking picnic (bc they just stare at each other intently like that nowadays its a thing. being in a room with them by this point is essentially a human rights violation) and is just completely fucking flabbergasted and lost on how in the hell childes speedran his way to that conclusion at what amounts to barely a 13% completion rate in his whole overkill fucking plan (just 1 of 3 contingencies btw) and its like yes he has his intended outcome but also precisely 0 idea on how the fuck said outcome was reached the way it was this fast . like hes still winning its His plan thats well underway and ahead of schedule but How

you know what??? i realized we're nearing the end of the new omitb season and i haven't posted any theories bc I don't have a clue. so I'm just gonna throw one out there. It's that Irish stunt double guy played by Paul Rudd. he was jealous and wanted to take Sazz's place or something. idk 😭😭

i sort of thought Chilchuck's whole I cheated on her thing was actually that his wife cheated on him because he was away so much?. so it was a half truth. things fell apart because of cheating but he was willing to forgive her but she left anyway. what do you think?

It’s not that that couldn’t plausibly happen in their situation/relationship, but there’s nothing in canon that points towards that at all (especially the forgiveness bit which would mean they’ve talked about it and Chilchuck knows) so I really wouldn’t say it’s implied or likely. It’d be an interesting headcanon to explore in fanfics though~
