yknowwww there is something... deeply uncomfortable about the way mel never speaks directly to viktor in the 'build hextech weapons' scene. she really only speaks to jayce. plenty of people have pointed this out already but like the one scene they actually share a meaningful interaction and she treats him like he's beneath her. all this after jayce has emphasized how important viktor is, that hextech is theirs, together. she unequivocally ices him out, there's no other way to interpret this scene. the way it's shot too - from viktor's perspective, looking up at her, as though to reinforce the same belief in him. like he doesn't even bother expecting respect from her - or anyone from the upper echelon of piltover. he's fully accustomed to being dehumanized by everyone around him at this point. sometimes even by jayce, despite the trust they clearly have in each other.

then of course after this scene is viktor experimenting on himself. it's pretty clear that he has internalized his own dehumanization. crazy.

The past couple days online have been... interesting. I consider myself a leftist, think capitalism is corrupt, and think that it needs to be seriously reformed/overthrown. I admit that while I've thrown around phrases and terms like "burn it all down" and "the revolution needs to come" out of frustration without actually thinking about what a revolution entails: excellent organization, unity, and strategy to defeat the United States, the world's largest military superpower which has inflicted political and social destabilization across the majority of countries around the world. There also needs to be superb infrastructure and community to support the disabled, elderly, and poor populations who rely on government assistance and programs, healthcare, and accommodations while this so-called revolution rages on.

All I've received from the far leftist movement are lectures from condescending intellectuals who rattle off academic citations regarding ideological theory rather than practical, tangible steps to advocate for change in our local and regional communities. I have not seen one of them actually discuss conversations they've had with their friends, family, or Americans about what they want to see reflected for the future of the country. I have not seen one of them discussed how destructive, detrimental and traumatic a Trump presidency was for social prejudice and morale in the United States. I understand that for many marginalized groups they've been living in a facist state for centuries so the possibility Project 2025 doesn't galvanize them to see the two parties differently, but I don't think it is fair to white leftists falsely equivocate the election of both parties for the entire American population at all??? Or like at least specify the issues you're referring to in which you view both parties as the same????? Literally one TikTok creator who I used to follow talked about how true leftists are so much better than liberals because they aren't waiting for a presidential candidate to save the world NOW due to the accelerated apocalypse due to climate change but when asked how to change the world they suggest sharing ideas of your future utopia with other leftist groups. How the fuck is sitting around talking about living in a walkable community is great considered "saving the world now"? How are you going to dismantle and restructure American infrastructure to create these communities? How are you going to remove existing racial and social tensions to create a community where everyone lives happily side by side? Do people not consider reality at all?????

And is it not wrong for people to have a fucking sliver of optimism and hope at incremental change that's achieved within the corrupt bipartisan system of American politics, even if they know it's propaganda??? Is it wrong for people to have a singular fucking moment of relief in feeling like their values, beliefs, and lives will be better protected and THEY can advocate for change better??? Is it wrong when there's a couple months until the most pressing election in recent history for people to make the choice they feel will reduce the most amount of harm???

Indigenous Hawaiians really had a good system going: wake up reaaally early and do most of the days work while it's cool and by the time the sun was up and it got hot the work was done and you're free to surf and socialize. Trauma Center GUILT OC - Codename: Metronome

Metronome consists of four cores that remain stationary on the organ. Its cycle of activity consists of a pair of sequential patterns. First, the cores will each spawn a cloud of pus over themselves, one at a time in a random order with a steady rhythm, each spawning accompanied by a sound effect. Then, following the same order and rhythm, each core will briefly flicker, making a sound and dealing minor vitals damage. After each core has flickered, there will be a few seconds delay, then the cycle will begin again.

To treat Metronome, the scalpel must be used to cut each core during its flicker, causing that core to shrivel up. This will also interrupt the cycle and stop the other cores from flickering, so you can only land one hit per cycle. Using the scalpel on a non-flickering core will interrupt the cycle, cause large vitals damage, and spawn pus clouds in random locations.

Shriveled cores will still spawn pus clouds, but they will not flicker or make a sound during the flickering stage, making it more difficult to keep track of the rhythm.

Once all four cores are shriveled, Metronome will make its last stand. First, each core will begin vibrating. This has a rhythm and random order just like its normal activity, but no pus clouds spawn. Then in the same order, each core will briefly flash, and during this moment they must be injected with an antiserum. If any core is left uninjected, or if an injection is mistimed, moderate vitals damage will occur and several pus clouds will spawn, and the attack will repeat in a few seconds. Once all four cores are successfully injected, Metronome will be defeated and can be excised and extracted.

Dawntrail is really good, even if I have the same moral... conversation with it that I did about Endwalker.

Generally the "is it inherently wrong to [seek a life without loss] [seek immortality] or is it the actions that are taken/the consequences that make it wrong?" and the willingness of characters to decide that they're the arbiter of what's right and wrong.

Not to talk long about Venat (I need to cut this short because there is one character I can talk about more than Amy, and its Venat (negative)), but while its obviously bad for the Ancients to raise (unconsenting) people to kill them and bring back their dead friends, no one's arguing it isn't, I also believe its bad to rip all the existing (unconsenting) people into 14 pieces (tears apart memories and consciousness, causes many many to die, reduces language and technology levels to the bare basics) with the support of only like 14 people behind you, imprisoning the creation holding half of the planets souls (which consented to becoming the creation) because you think the creation is an abomination👍

And I can very much see echoes of Venat in Cahciua in how she believes she can decide what happens to Living Memory, even if the actions she's presenting are, at least, actually necessary.

Anyways I love the family themes of Dawntrail its made me cry a lot.
