Ugh fine, you know my secret desire is to be a news anchor on TV. <clears voice> Hello everyone out there in TV land, its Jonah McLelland here in sunny and tropical Cladbridge on Stowe. We are enjoying our daily ten minutes without rain and my dearest love camera woman has once again forced us out for another unending hike through the countryside. My clothes are soaked through and she complains that the dry cleaner costs too much. I'm fairly certain my Armani cashmere sweater is ruined, but --- stop laughing! It IS! Anyways, if anyone out there is listening please send help. Or send me some of my clothes, as the dearest love of my life has ruined everything by shoving all my things into a backpack. Any time you see me on a video blinking twice I am desperately asking for help. Please save me! She's going to kill me. I love her. She's killing me. Slowly and surely. This much rain HAS to be criminal.

I was JUST congratulating myself this morning on the way I've taken such good care of David's save that it almost never crashes...

...then this evening, I found I couldn't advance beyond 6 a.m. Sim time without the game crashing to desktop. I'd had it last saved at 5 a.m. Sim time, but on the dot of 6, it all goes boom. It's done that five times now. Grr!

So I want to Porter the family to a new town, someplace else--really just David and Ruby and kids, plus Diphda and Dimitri and Adrian. Maybe a couple of Brokes though, tbh, Ruby is not super-close to any of them. Mostly she concentrates on befriending her coworkers. Yeah, I'll probably leave 'em.

The real question is, where should they go? I thought I'd ask y'all. Then I'll do whatever I want anyway, but you know, democracy or something? I hear it's good to pay lip service to it while you usher in the fascism.

Birthday time in Cladbridge-on-Stowe

Hop hop, to the next world, where William and Cecily Pratt now have two children. Christopher seems to look mostly like his mother, but has his own wonderful ginger hair, a unusually sucessful blend of his parent’s coulours. I don’t know how many strange hairblends I’ve felt the need to straighten out in CAS. Sofia has her mother’s haircolour, but the face is all William’s.

Everyone loves a good country club. Or, I imagine Americans do. Where I come from we’re more likely to have this experience at the local hotel, but a country club seems a little more grand for my simmies. 

I’ve remodeled the building to include a very fancy restaurant, an area to play billiards in, and an little wine shop. Not to forget the bar (very important) and my gambling room. 

Mikaali Pingusat doesn’t seem very happy with how his game is going.

Just out of curiosity, have you had any problems with routing in Cladbridge-on-Stowe and if so, how did you fix it? I tried playing it for awhile, but my townies were getting stuck everywhere (Most of the town center buildings are built right on the edge etc, also had some funky boating action going on too). I just couldn't handle the routing and lag so I ended up saving most of the lots as I adore the feel of the town and just dropped them in another world.

Yes, I have had quite a few problems with routing in Cladbridge-on-Stowe, unfortunately. Just search for “routing” and “stuck” on my tumblr and you’ll find them all lol! Now, not all the pictures are from Cladbridge but the majority are and you’re right about the community buildings being on the edge of Lots which doesn’t work out too well. Most of the residential Lots have fences that are also right on the edge! Not a good idea at all! Makes me wonder if this world was ever play-tested lol!

The way I tackled this problem, was to turn off the “Stuck Check Auto-Reset” option in NRaas Overwatch, so I could see where the routing was failing and hopefully fix it, which I have managed to do so far. Full details of how I did this are in this post.

I also set “Allow Boat Routing” to ‘False’ in the NRaas Go Here mod, as Cladbridge just wasn’t built with boats in mind, so it’s understandable that they don’t work very well. I honestly don’t miss them so it’s no big deal for me.

Cladbridge-on-Stowe Sims

Last week - before I stopped to play-tested Tedhi’s world - I decided to go into the hated CAS, to created 2 new families for the town. 

This first one, is Pierre Peacock (in both casual and formal wear)

and his cat Cygnus. (Cygnus was a kitten I downloaded from here @saagassims3​)

I read about Pierre over on Sims Wiki, and figured why not. I need a crazy French chef in my village. So, here’s his bio: “Pants! It’s all about the PANTS! It takes a special kind of sim to wear striped bell-bottoms, and Pierre is THAT sim! Yes, he is! Pierre’s latest goal is to bring French haute couture – and cuisine, of course! – to the village of Cladbridge-on-Stowe. And while he’s here, he’d like all interested ladies to know that he is fond of fish & chips, collecting bottle tops, and, of course, PEACOCKS! So, get to know him! Get, to know his pants!”

Anyway, while I was on a wackadoodle roll, I decided to create another sim, Sunny Twoday – the former Sandy Bruty from TS2! This sim was actually created by Sixam Sims many, many moons ago – like a gazillion! Anyway, she came with basegame clothes and hair – which I replaced – along with all of her traits. I also tweaked her make-up, since she is now in the “performance” career path. After joining the acrobat career, Sandy decided to change her name to Sunny Twoday. (She figured it would help her get gigs). And since she is now an acrobat, I – her loving simgoddess - generously gave her the couch-potato and clumsy traits to help her with her career. Also the mooch one, because she was always just so damn annoying in TS2.

Then I found out that EA had created 2 more Bruty sims. Who the heck knew! One was Allyn Bruty,  - a bit of a stuffed shirt - and the other was a Professor Sandy Bruty at Fiesta Tech. So I decided to use my Sandy Bruty sim and make her an identical twin, whom I named Allyn. And if you’re wondering why Allyn’s hair is red, it’s because – according to Wiki – Sandy’s bio stated that originally she had red hair too. And in my world, her twin, has not dyed her hair.

Then I took the Sandy sim, aged her up to an elder and renamed her Professor Sandra Bruty. She is now the grandmother of the other two and the headmistress at the local school. And they all live together in the same house – which the old lady owns. The old lady also has a Corgi named Sparky, but I didn’t take his picture because I’m lazy.

After all that, I had to relax with a glass of wine - or, possibly two - because I really, really hate CAS.

Another of my favorite worlds

Ahh..Cladbridge on Stowe.  Another world by doublemedion694. This is another of the beautiful worlds I chose to send part of my culled population from Thicket. I wanted to send them to worlds that had a similar aesthetic so could logically be close to each other in the mystical Sim Universe..LOL!  Also I really, really love European Architecture.  Half Timber Tudor to be more specific! I set about placing down my families so in the next few pictures you may see some familiar faces!

Joel Spaulding got called away from his chess game to give a singing telegram to Rene Russ at the Cannon residence.  Somehow he managed to catch himself on fire and she just watched in amusement then peaced out of there!  LOL!!   Thankfully Darrel was at home so I switched households and he put out the flames.  

Man that was a close call!  I almost lost an OG Thicket townie on the first night!

There are a ton of pictures from this world because I wanted to check in on all my old Thicket sims so I’ll get around to posting a second part of this at some point!

Taslin and Tierney are renting a house for the term. It's a reworking I did of the Suburban Mediocrity home in Cladbridge-on-Stowe; it now has three full bedrooms upstairs and, um, fewer routing errors. (Yes, I know I'm touchy about that, but it truly kills joy.)

After choosing their beds and arranging for maid services and, in Tierney's case, planting a small garden in the backyard, they set off for the meet-and-greet.

The meet-and-greet went slowly because I kept pausing the game to do townie makeovers.

I don't claim they're great, but they aren't burning my retinas as much as they were initially.

Also, I admit I changed Ronnie Blackstone's entire face using the randomizer, because Taslin had her eye on him, and what he started life with was unacceptable, even for the (potential) spouse of a spare.

They invited Eddy and Ronnie over for dinner afterwards.

Taslin: Don't you have some gardening to do, Tierney?

The twins said their goodbyes to the boys shortly after dinner and turned in early, because they're each taking 18 credits this term. Yikes, I wonder who's the bitch who set them up for such an awful time?
