Whenever I go to the airport I imagine the kotlc group traveling for the first time in this mortal setting, all different from the fancy world they live in. I imagine them trying the coffee shops and going through security and being so confused and curious while Sophie shows them how to do things and where to go. I overall like imagining them doing human stuff for the first time.

Hilda fans are simply incredible!!
A Hilda fan here in Toronto may have just made one of the largest and most expensive pieces of fanart there ever has been for not just this show...but for any recent cartoon! averagecessnapilot on the Hilda server took a Piper PA-38 and flew it from Toronto Billy Bishop airport to near Lake Scugog and drew a giant Woff with the flightpath! It's over 20 Km long (or 12.4 Freedom miles for anyone in Big Mac land)! I was in downtown for a class but had I known this was gonna happen, I'd probably have popped by the lakeshore to watch homie here take off to draw a giant ass Woff, lmao!!
This makes me so happy as both a Hilda fan and a long time avgeek!
Seriously, if this doesn't convince you to go watch Hilda, IDK what will!
Check out the flight path here!

its so silly but i just keep thinking abt being in norway and seeing for the first time kinda ever that like governments can do things to make peoples life better. for no other reason but just to improve things. like im sure norway has lots of problems i didnt see on a trip but i cannot stress how insane it was that the government had done things because it would be nice. to take care of people. ?????

One of my favourite things about reading fics written by USAmericans is when y'all just use the acronyms for things like airports, presumably presuming that everyone will just know what airport you're referring to.
I do not. I have absolutely no idea where DIA or JFK are, and I didn't even realise you were referring to airports. And I only realised they were airports because that made more sense than the actual JFK being in this fic.
It's genuinely a very amusing little detail.

I don't love capitalism. This is known.
But every time I think about the company doing High Speed Rail along a specific set of Florida cities, I do feel respect.
Like yeah. That WAS a good choice. Go you.

If you told someone that this was written and recorded by the Triumvirate during their long-forgotten indie pop phase, why would anyone believe you?

Notes: Originally arranged as stage music for Flounder Heights back in February, before I realized the vibes were too off. The joke at first was that the original, antediluvian "amen break" drum loop somehow survived the destruction of Alterna and gained quasi-religious significance. If you listen really, really closely, you can hear ambient noise to that effect, as though someone recorded the sample off their laptop at the twilight of humanity.
And then Side Order happened, and with it came "CΘld StΘrage" and its blistering breakbeats, and everything was forever ruined. Unless you wish to entertain the notion that the Pinging Marciale is worthy of worship, and really, who WOULDN'T think that? Just look at it!

Being brought up on a farm and only ever going back indoors to head right back out again for my whole life, the decreasing amount of insects has been extremely noticeable and it's been going on for years. Of course it's been worrying with the climate catastrophe, and once I became a beekeeper and learned more about my village's local flora it became even more glaring.
So imagine my surprise this year when there are more insects than I can count. Sitting on my porch (practically my room during summers) I'm noticing species I haven't seen since I was at least a young teenager, and there are more butterflies of different varieties than I even remember from my childhood!
There are so many bees flying around too, probably from the hives down by the old homestead buildings by the church and school, owned by the woman I know from the local beekeeper's association.
What's more is that this year there has been no drought OR flooding, so there are a lot more flowers blooming for longer, and everyone in my village as well as the surrounding villages are reporting a burst of activity in their hives... as well as higher activity from the wild bees and pollinators. For the first time in years it's starting to resemble the way it was when I was younger.
All that is to say, the climate catastrophe is real, and in my area it's causing a lot more violent thunderstorms... but oh my god all this reminds me why I persist despite the despair that tries to dig its claws in.
I may not be able to do major change on a global scale, but you can bet me and everyone here will at least try and support this little place. We can keep going in the fight against the municipality that wants to urbanize at the cost of our precious biodiversity, and we can continue to fight to keep out the cities that tries to enroach on us and get closer.
It is rare for villages in Götaland to remain this free from urbanization despite being nestled right in the middle of multiple major cities, and there's no excuse to destroy what little there is left of it down here in the south.
