When we think of SUGAR, we think of the white, table sugar, right? : But, sugar is in more food than you can imagine. Most sauces and dressings like teriyaki, marinara, ketchup, thousand island, ranch etc will have added sugar! In fact,if you look at most packaged products, you will see sugar in the ingredient list πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ When you think about it, these small amounts of sugar add up to way more than you need through out the day. : What are some ways you can reduce your daily sugar intake πŸ‘‡πŸΌ 1. Ditch the sodas, energy drinks, fruit juices, sweetened teas/coffees! Your drinks add up to more sugar than you think! Swap all this with water πŸ’§ 2. Use fruit to add sweetness to smoothies, yogurt or oatmeal. Fruit does have natural sugar, but it also comes with fiber and tons of micro nutrients! So much better than refined sugar! 🍎 3. Eat whole grains and beans, instead of processed versions like bread, pasta and pizza! 🌽 These simple carbs translate to sugar in our body. 4. Add fat to your meals! What scares you the most? πŸ€” For me, it’s always been public speaking! Actually that’s quite an understatement, because I am genuinely scared of speaking up, even in a group of 5 people or less! 😧 : I am never that person who will raise my hand or go first and always the person hoping that someone else will ask the question that’s on my mind! So, what the hell am I doing up here in front of these people speaking about my strengths! Well for the first minute I felt like my face was melting into thin air! I was looking at the crowd but seeing nothing. And then I got over it! Yup! Just like that, I decided I have 5 minutes and I was going to hold my fear my her hand and do this thing with her side by side! : When you see fear, think of her as a good sign! Acknowledge her and let her participate with you. Remember she is only inviting you to do what you are fully capable of! β€œShould I eat every 2 hours if I am trying to lose fat?” I get asked all the time πŸ‘†πŸΌ : Here’s how I look at it, What works for one person, may not work for someone else! I recommend listening to your body and eating when you are hungry. Stopping when you are full! It really can be that simple. : I would focus more on the quality of food you are eating 😊 Making sure you are getting enough fiber,protein and fat in your meals. : I personally prefer a slightly longer window of 3-4 hours between my meals, as that’s when I tend to feel hungry! This can change based on what I ate for my pervious meal, my level of physical activity and I will adjust the timing of my next meal accordingly. Makes sense? : What I do recommend is maintaining a 12-13 hour fasting window (you can increase that fasting window up-to 16 hours) between your last meal of the day and your first meal the next day. This gives your body optimal time to complete digestion and go through a process of repairing damaged cells and flushing out dead cells. It also encourages your body to dig into fat reserves as there is no glucose in your blood towards the end of that fasting window. : How many meals do you typically have in a day?
