Oof, what a disappointment. I feel like this wanted to be one of those transgressive teen shows we get in the West, but then it didn't have the guts to go all the way and ended up being like any other kdrama about the rich and the poor. And even then, it's just not good at that either. The writing leaves a lot to be desired, and it gets more boring with every episode. The acting is also all over the place; some of the actors do a solid job, but most of them are mediocre or downright terrible. Tbh, there are two things that save this drama from disaster: firstly, the director adds a lot of style and flair to the proceedings; secondly, sometimes it's fun to see a bunch of super pretty people all together in one place. But still, there are a lot of shows where you can find those things with much better quality. I wouldn't recommend Hierarchy, unless you really love someone in the cast...

THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Online cooking, South Pole missions, black belt EMTs, mud flats, superheroes, adorable children, pine sodas, durian candies, friendship-strengthening bracken, confident romance, mid-age friendships, hometown pride, and finding yourself in the chaos of life.

HOT TAKE: This show should just be called 'Acts of Service: The Best Friend-To-Romance Hour.'

I have never seen so many green-flag beaus in one k-drama in all my years of watching. Even the one guy who they tried to pin as the 'villain' was really only just selfish and eventually came around to realize he was 100% at fault.

This show has great pacing, believable sets and character motivations, and will cause you to happy-cry in the best way through nearly every episode.

like they’re friends, they’re coworkers, they’re hunters, they’re a boss and a right hand man but most importantly they’re family

i absolutely live for gunhee playing along with jinchul’s work policy but it’s doesn’t mean anything stops gunhee from being an embarrassing doting father figure for jinchul

gunhee definitely has too much fun seeing his ‘adopted son’ dying inside from every embarrassing dad thing gunhee does

Love Next Door

Wow! This is definitely a favorite for me! I love the story and the characters. This is a series I know I will rewatch. It's a story that everyone can relate to because it's not just about two people in love, it's about family, friendship and the rest. Is about finding ourselves and working towards our dreams, is about life in all its facets and the people that make our world special.

It's a must watch series!

Mini-review:

As I mentioned in a previous post, Mr. Plankton was my most anticipated k-drama of the year. And, while I liked quite a few things about it, I can't help but feel slightly disappointed. For starters, both the plot and the tone are kind of all over the place. There was a lot of potential in this story, but I think the writer didn't know where to put the main focus. Also, the male lead is rather unlikeable, to the point that not even Woo Do Hwan's immense charisma can fully save him; he's definitely an interesting character, but sometimes it gets hard to root for him, especially during the first half. Still, the entire cast delivers powerful performances and the show's sense of humor is pretty funny, so the whole thing ends up being a highly entertaining experience. It wasn't the life-changing drama I expected it to be, but I enjoyed going on this crazy trip with these characters.
