#cw: emotional abuse#cw: gaslighting#cw: animal death#charity - a god whose name was only ever meant to be ironic#i love playing with the concept of religion like this#im not religious at all but i did go to a christian school for twelve years#and i remember learning about the story of abraham. who long story short gets told by god to kill his son to prove his love for god.#and at the veeeery last minute god goes sike! this was a test to see if you'd do it! here's a lamb to slaughter instead#but the whole concept of that exchange in and of itself is so#anyway#one thing i meant to include in the creative notes but i ran out of room for is that charity never calls cunning by his name.#it's just âfoxâ. which was a small touch to indicate that he never acknowledged cunning's identity outside of being something exploitable.#but for all charity's hidden disdain for cunning#he still stole all his strengths and coveted them. he became known as the fox god.#so maybe some part of cunning survived. despite everything.#âgive me your heart.â#âmy god. it had always been yours.â#comic art#hearteaters#stillindigo art#stillindigo comics#one more comic to go until im finished with this collection!!

WHAT jesus xx chromosome article??????????????
I had to go searching for the exact one but it's this. Basically the author (Georgia Day) argues that 1. We know Jesus had a penis (he's circumcised) and that 2. there's no way Jesus could have XY chromosomes since Mary is his only biological human parent. So Jesus is intersex according to this logic
#vee's asks#i'm not sure if i agree or disagree#since I don't really believe in christian theology/miraculous conception#but its an interesting thought exercise that's asking people to consider what if jesus was not a cis man#there's an additional argument in Christianity-queering circles that Jesus is inherently queer#because he did not adhere to the marriage customs of his time period and culture#learned a lot by taking a class simply called 'Jesus' as an elective

If you are a gentile that has grown up ignorant of antisemitic stereotypes, Iâd highly encourage you to learn about them now.
Being ignorant of the bigotry that surrounds you doesnât make you a better ally; it just prevents you from identifying antisemitism when you see it.
#jumblr#especially looking at Christian and ex Christian gentiles#like learn about the stereotypes your ancestors perpetuated#don't be ignorant of your own history

nik finding out ghostâs father is still alive
he teases out personal information from him over years of careful dedication; always knowing when to back off, always knowing when ghost needs him to push just that little more so he can free himself of his own memories
itâs not always important; sometimes itâs little things like preferring full fat milk for his tea or that he enjoys morning runs with his back to the sunrise. that he prefers to sit in an armchair than a couch and he hates the feel of cotton balls but endures it anyway
it takes a while before he gets to the deep things. the tragic things. broken plates. snake infested beds. dead prostitutes in toilet stalls
all with one man at the centre of them
ghost isnât shy about his opinion of his old man; he knew he was a cowardly, addicted bastard who stood up for what he believed in only so long as the person he was standing against was weaker than him. he tells nik how close he came to killing him one night when he found him passed out on the couch; foaming spit and vomit all around him. he tells him how much he wished he knew then what he knows now; how he couldâve killed him with a toothpick if he just learned earlier
and he tells him that even unconscious, even when grew bigger than him, when he was stronger than him, ghost was still too afraid of him to try
he tells him around a shared cigarette that he got the call about his cancer just after he enlisted; how bitter he felt that he wouldnât be around to watch him suffer and wither away. and itâs with a sour laugh that he tells him it was a few years after his first deployment that he got the call that he was in remission
bastard couldnât even give me that much,â he scoffs and stares at the smouldering butt long enough that nik takes it from him before he can snuff it out on his skin. âknow the funny part of all this? iâve killed hundreds of men. i know how to use more weapons than i can count- iâm the fuckinâ ghostâŚ
âand iâm still fuckinâ scared of him.â
silence falls and nik sits in it; in the cruelty and discomfort of a manâs fear. he thinks of an old wooden home with its little chapel at the end of the yard. he thinks of silent dinner tables and repeated prayers over the crack of a belt. he thinks of the weight of a bible clutched in his hands and how it never eased the heat of his blood dripping down his back
he thinks and lights another cigarette and pretends ghostâs hand isnât shaking when he offers it to him. because thatâs all he can do
for now
-
months pass and nik does ghost a favour by acting like heâs forgotten their conversation on the roof despite them both knowing itâs bullshit. you donât just forget sharing something like that; the shame of admitting and the hatred of knowing are too strong for something as merciful as forgetting
but they donât talk about it again
months pass, missions blur together except for the ones that really donât and itâs been a while since nik was in country when he slides up beside ghost as he oversees recruit training
he doesnât say anything; just lets ghost feel his presence, conveniently from behind so he can slip something in his hands held behind his back before he steps up beside him. they watch the repetitive drills and the repetitive mistakes until ghost barks at them to fuck off or heâll make them run until they puke then make them keep running
he waits for the last of them to huff and puff their way to the showers before bringing his hands to the front and unfolding the paper nik gave him
he doesnât get past the first line before he stills
ghost forces his head to turn, eyes reluctantly dragging away from the paper to nik who stands waiting expectantly
âa gift,â nik says simply. âit does not bode well to have a haunted ghost, yes?â
he doesnât let himself deflate the way his body wants; he keeps his back straight and shoulders wide and lets out a carefully controlled breath. âit last long?â
âoh yes,â he nods with a wide smile. âhell received quite a few pieces.â
ghost nods back and looks down at the paper in his hand, refusing to acknowledge the fine shake running through it. it isnât enough to blur the cutout from a manchester local newspaper and reading it again makes his knees weak with 30 year old relief

the dark forest is genuinely a really fucked up afterlife after the broken code kind of waved away ideas of redemption and also introduced the fact that snowtuft has been there suffering for so long he's forgotten his own life. Fandom always having discussions like "which of these #controversial characters deserves to rot in infinite hell jail forever đ¤" like bro none of them that shit's scary!!!!!!!!!
#It's also just like. Suuuuper christian#kind of irredeemable sinners mindset that had me stop being religious when I was 12 and learned I was gay

Chickens likely domesticated themselves the same way wolves did which is basically by hanging around our settlements and eating our refuse.
Living with chickens in this sort of way was likely happening way before the estimated times of 8,000- 10,000 years ago. The relationship was likely already long established it was just during that time some chickens started developing smaller/weaker adrenal glands which caused them to become much easier to raise and handle which eventually lead to the domesticated chicken we know of today (and how that happened so suddenly is a completely different but very interesting topic)
Also due to this you could argue that there isn't any true wild red jungle fowl left untouched and uninfluenced by humans anymore. Not only due to constant cross breeding with domestic chickens but because red jungle fowl are still doing what their ancestors did in their current range, if there is a town or village nearby the bravest junglefowl will still choose to intermingle with the village and eat the refuse, agricultural byproducts, and waste. People will still catch and care for these "wild" birds like their ancestors did. This isn't to say we shouldn't try our best to preserve the wild red jungle fowls wild genetics, their should be populations left to be in their natural environment but it's likely they are not truly same wild birds they once were thousands of years ago and honestly that's OK because thats how its been for thousands of years.
#basically domestic chickens suddenly became so wide spread so suddenly those thousands of years ago because a chinese ruler was like#i need to feed my people and im going to use these birds to do it#so they selected for big birds who were calm so they wouldnt freak out and burn calories#and they selected for less rooster to rooster aggression so they could house large amounts of birds together#and those birds were basically proto cochins#also game birds are very simialr to wild jungle fowl since their adrenals are physically different then asiatic breeds and their derivatives#they like have their own things going on im not getting into right now but#its all very cool and fascinating#also by learning this i learned that a lot of the older breeders in america think that like chicken breeds just#came unto existence via god??#Christian fundamentalism is wild

Evolution of Eliot/Hardison hugs over the years.
And the one time that Eliot really needed a hug:
Leverage S02E08/S03E10/S04E01/S04E07/S04E10/S05E09/Leverage Redemption S01E16/S02E06.
#leverage#leverage redemption#eliot spencer#alec hardison#christian kane#aldis hodge#i swear eliot is like a feral kitten#starts off all hissing and spitting and 'i swear i will break your arm'#and to get them used to being handled you grab them and wrap them up tightly in a towel and just shower them with affection#they hate it at first but slowly they learn to accept it#and then they come to love it#the next thing you know you have an extremely affectionate cat who initiates the contact#who's favourite thing ever is to be sprawled on your lap purring their head off#i did not mean to write a thesis on this but here we are#and yeah i could have not added that last gif and saved you all a punch to the gut#but it was getting way too mushy in here! :)#*runs off chuckling back into my pit*#ghostly'sgifs

you know what i think. i think women are starved for meaningful art and thatâs why they get into witchcraft/wicca/tarot/etc. I stay as far away as possible from that stuff now, but I have to recognize that it is visually attractive. it has a history. it has a metaphysical meaning that tells a story. where else in our culture can we find that? we may see some in certain movies and video games, but those are inherently escapist; the art contained within them is not something we live out in our day-to-day.
I also think there is art in nature and our technological age is so cut off from nature, whereas witchcraft/wicca is very nature-based. it is the same sort of reaction to modernism the romanticists had, but much more nefarious. thatâs why pre-Raphaelite art looks Like That. and itâs why the witch aesthetic borrows so heavily from pre-Raphaelite art. this is why Christianity must reclaim the arts and a high view of nature. in this essay i will â
#iâve been assigned by the girlies to put together a topical Bible study on spoopy things#like are ghosts real and why the answer is no#so expect a lot of this kind of content this month as I learn stuff#mobile#Christianity#x

i know this is a long haul video, but it's also an extremely good breakdown of the myth of self-sustainability homesteading and how you should never believe everything you see online or in books. also a little bit about how joel salatin suck ass, actually.
this shit is not easy and it doesn't make money. i am only allowed to do this because my spouse is a software engineer in the video game industry. don't fall for the promise of being able to pay your way via a small farm. the only thing small-scale homesteading gives you is a sense of accomplishment, a connection to your food, and at least one joint injury that you will need to go to physical therapy for. i will never talk anyone out of wanting to grow their own food, because i think it's an extremely good and important thing to do, but i will always encourage you to do it within your means with a realistic vision of that future.
#ag talk#also why i think rabbits are good for family meat production#they are very inexpensive compared to other livestock#they still have a cost! but it's less than even chickens and they don't need a ton of space to live in like chickens do#it's also so nice to hear from a homesteader who isn't a religious vaguely right-wing traditional family values guy#those are...shockingly few and far between online :/#i stopped watching most homesteading youtubers because of that#it was a little too christian and a little too prosperity doctrine even when religion wasn't really spoken about much#the way they talk about self-sustainability really rubbed me the wrong way as someone raised in an extremely culty fundie denomination#i had a similar journey to morgan here with the discovering people like joel salatin and justin rhodes#and being very inspired and learning a lot from them. they were valuable to me#but now i know that a lot of it is just....not how it works
