Yeah my family told me that love was unconditional so I guess I just believed them? Had a bad habit of trusting people most of my life. Don't worry ex family, I'm cold and bitter and slow to trust people like you now, so mission accomplished I guess ✌️
Anyhow to any young autistic people, just because they don't hit you and they make some sort of apology after yelling at you doesn't mean they actually care. My family was all that and they literally kicked me out to starve to death on the streets because I tried to kill myself. Both sides, the only thing they ever agreed on after the divorce. Turns out if both sides are intelligent gaslighters, you can be conditioned to accept a lot of shit you had no idea was even bad. Take care of yourself first. Don't self sacrifice out of love.
Here is the golden rule to know if your instincts are right about friends or famIly. If you can't safely unmask around them, or don't feel safe unmasking around them for reasons other than past abuse, don't fucking trust that person more than you can throw them. I'm so serious right now. I'm well past halfway through my life expectancy now and this rule hasn't been wrong even once.
If this advise can protect even one of you then I will considered it an acceptable trade. I want you all to live better than I did. Had I known then what I do now my life would have gone very differently. I should have left my damn mask on and kept going forward.
And whatever they've done to you, don't kill yourself. Dont give then the satisfaction. Die with honor and meaning if you must die. But don't you dare go quietly. Every day you survive this world gives you a chance to make it better off than how it started. Protect others from what you've been through. We go forward together across broken glass and blood at tears if we must. But we go forward.
If you have absolutely no one, then know you got this random faceless internet stranger crying as she types this. I love you. And I will never stop fighting for you.
a bottom-tier autistic experience is being told throughout your entire childhood that you are just an overthinker when it comes to social situations and later finding out that your friends did, in fact, hate being around you and tried to communicate that through weird little hints

I will never believe that the Headmasters death was an accident.
You’re telling me the guy that abused Atsushi for at least a decade shows up looking for him. And he just so happens to get hit by a truck?
I know trucks just do that in anime but I think it’s a wee bit convenient if you ask me.
I refuse to believe anyone in the Agency would’ve let that man anyone here near Atsushi. If there’s one thing about the Agency we know is that they protect their own.
They went on a massacre because someone attacked the coffee guy. And I’m supposed to believe they’d let the Headmaster walk into the office alive?
The case got given to Ranpo who is incredibly protective over his people. Junichiro was on the case with Atsushi and he’d definitely murder for less.
Dazai was somehow involved too and he would do anything to protect the Agency. Especially when it comes to Atsushi.
They might not know a lot of Atsushi’s past like they didn’t know why his hair is cut the way it is. But they know enough. They’re detectives they can figure stuff out.
Starving orphan kicked out of an orphanage saying no one would care if he lived or died…Tells you a lot.
Also Akutugawa was here in the manga too and he wouldn’t have helped out for nothing. He probably knows the most honestly because of Fitzgerald.
He hates it but he understands.
I mean Atsushi in the manga (chapter 39) thought the gun the headmaster had with him was going to be used on him.
It wasn’t but the fact that’s where his mind went too immediately…Like I can just imagine Atsushi seeing the news paper and making a comment about that.
Not even thinking about it and everyone in the office just goes silent.
I feel like the only reason they didn’t let Kyouka go fuck the guy up (because she absolutely would throw the no killing rule out the window for Atsushi) is because Atsushi wouldn’t really want that.
They know how he’d feel so they staged an accident. Putting Atsushi on the case so he can discover it and gain some closure.
I know it was an accident in canon but I’m very sus about it.

This site, to my quick searching, provides a source for the stat, if anyone wanted it.
https://www.nationalchildrensalliance.org/media-room/national-statistics-on-child-abuse/
"we want to protect the kids!!"
— in a way that will also protect them from their parents & guardians right?
"what"
— if a parent or guardian wanted to abuse their child, would what you're trying to do make it harder for them?
"..."
— *pulls out a chart that shows 76% of abused children were victimized by a parent or legal guardian* will what you're advocating for make it easier for the majority child abusers, which is overwhelmingly parents & guardians, to get away with abuse?
"idk what this has to do with anything we just want to restrict children's freedoms more & give parents more control over them. you know. to protect them from adults who want to abuse them"
Every. Single. Time.

every time i'm confronted with child abuse, in any form, i always wind up hissing at how it is always utterly irrational. motiveless malignity. your malignity has no justification. sure, you come up with things. you justify it to yourself. you say, oh, it's because of this or that. in reality, you're covering your tracks. you're making it up to feel better about it. because it's irrational. you can't feel better about it. your child is three. they love you. your evil is unjustified.

The men who just discovered the word "whataboutery" are going to be real upset about this one...
Hi, just wanted to swing by and drop some actual facts into the conversation about child sexual exploitation (CSE). Let’s talk about the 2020 Home Office report, commissioned by the Tories themselves.
And guess what it found?
Most offenders were WHITE, BRITISH MEN.
Yes, I’m looking at the disingenuous nonsense spreading across the internet from people who claim to “care about violence against women and children” but can’t be bothered to understand the actual stats.
1 in 4 women in the UK will experience sexual assault. 1 in 10 children in the UK will experience sexual violence.
No political party has done enough to tackle the scale of abuse in this country. And as a society, we fail every single day to give a shit about what children experience in the UK—whether that’s abuse or poverty. It’s not just the government’s ineptitude showing indifference to their suffering. It’s us as a society.
I want a full, national report on the issue. But I also want the government to actually do something to protect children—all children. Children at risk of abuse. Children in poverty. Children whose futures are bleak because both the government and society have abandoned them.
Labour’s plans to make it a criminal offence to fail to report child sexual abuse? Important. Classifying grooming as an aggravating factor in sentencing? Also important. But how are these actions preventing children from getting hurt in the first place? Our infrastructure fails to protect them, miserably and cruelly.
And while we’re here, let me ask the men shouting about “Labour cover-ups” and claiming this is a “migrant issue: where is your concern for sexual violence as a whole? If protecting women and children is so virtuous, surely you’re also fighting for radical reform of the UK’s rape laws? Surely, you’re outraged by the shockingly low conviction rates? Surely, you care that the MET said violence against women should be treated with the same severity as terrorism? Surely, you listen to women and children—even when you don’t like them or the man they’re accusing?
No? Didn’t think so. The complete lack of knowledge about the scope of the issue, combined with regurgitating whatever Musk and Co spat into your mouth without a second thought, is just embarrassing.
My anger isn’t at people who are upset about child abuse. Although I’m sure some genius will frame this as a “leftie attempt” to excuse Labour. Whatever Musk tells you, baby. Don’t let facts get in the way of your fragile sense of belonging.
My anger is at the disingenuous, racist nonsense that turns this into a “migrant problem” when it’s not. And that rhetoric won’t solve anything. The issue of child abuse in the UK is so much bigger than that, with so many more systemic failures that I don’t even know how a country reckons with its indifference to the suffering of children.
Was race a factor in the failures to act in some cases? Yes. The Jay Report showed that officials feared being called racist, and that fear caused harm. But let’s not forget that his is a home-grown crisis, fuelled by decades of cultural and political neglect.
So, let me remind you... 1 in 10 children. 1 in 10 children. 1 in 10 children.
This isn’t a new problem. This isn’t rare. And the amount of disingenuous BOLLOCKS in the media and online about this is maddening.
Britain doesn’t care about its children. Whether they’re being abused, living in poverty, or going hungry, this country turns a blind eye. And the fact that so many people care more about framing this as a migrant issue, than about actually facing some harsh realities, tells you everything you need to know.

Read the most insane reasons 10 abusive mothers gave for “transitioning” their child.
Dr. Anne Georgulas’s 7 yo son wanted a girl toy in a McDonalds happy meal and liked a Disney princess
Mary Carter’s 3 yo son looked sad one day. When she asked him why, he said because he was a boy. Mary immediately bought hair ties, gave him pigtails, and “transitioned” him
Emily Torrisi’s daughter liked trucks at 1; boys clothing at 2 and was “transitioned” at 5 yo
Klara Jeynes’s daughter didn’t like pig tails at 18 months; rejected “stereotypical girl clothes” at 2; was “transitioned” at 3 yo
Megan Goebel’s 18 month old played with his sisters clothes and nail polish; he played dress up in preschool; Megan said his obsession with a headband was a “sign”; the “final test” was him not liking t-ball at 4
[ Note: I previously covered this one. ]
Jeanette Jennings’s 3 yo son unbuttoned his onesie and pulled it down “like a dress”
youtube
youtube
Molly Maxwell’s son “went nuts” over dresses at 18 months; liked shoes, tiaras, and pink; rejected trucks at 2; was “transitioned” at 4 yo
youtube
Su Penn’s daughter didn’t like a dress in a magazine and wanted a boy haircut at 2; picked male pronouns at a transgender conference at 5
Beth Clawson’s 2 yo son wouldn’t leave the house without a tutu. Wore towels on his head to mimic long hair
Debi Jackson’s son liked wearing jewelry and “tucked his genitals away” at 2; wanted long hair and liked nail polish, female characters, dresses at 3
youtube
BONUS:
Child loving "raw green vegetables" was a sign of transgenderism, mother claims in viral video.

Adult ProTip, from a security professional: If a kid tells you, "My parents are gonna kill me / kick my ass / kick me out" for something relatively minor, don't respond with shit like "Really? ;) that sounds a little extreme, don't you think sweetie?" because that shit really does happen.
Instead, respond as though whatever threat they are afraid of is fully valid, and offer whatever you can do to help- ask if they believe they are in danger of being hurt in any way, and work accordingly.
If they're overreacting, they'll usually realize and dial it back, self-correct and begin thinking a bit more rationally.
If they're not overreacting, and the danger is real, then they'll need a level-headed adult in their corner, not another condescending authority figure who doesn't believe them.

Child abuse is a big problem, so it's important that we don't let children communicate with adults except their parents and other official authority figures. Everyone knows the best way to prevent child abuse is to keep children isolated and ensure all their communications are controlled.

Problem #1 regarding child abuse is that a lot of people seem to struggle to imagine normal, respectable-looking parents and other authority figures ever doing it despite the statistics so instead they do the stranger danger panic and completely overlook some of the greatest threats.
Problem #2 is that even when people understand, even if in an abstract way, that parents can be abusive they just... don't seem to actually register that as something that can apply to real life. It's just hypothetical to them and doesn't actually guide their ideas of how to prevent child abuse.
Problem #3 is that even after overcoming the above biases a lot of people have a very narrow image of what abusive parenting is where they imagine like... people doing violent things basically out of sadism and without provocation. They don't seem to think it's "real" abuse if the victim did something that "justifies" punitive violence, like disobeying the parents.
In fact, most people think parents have a right to do a whole lot of awful things to their children beyond just hitting them, like violating their privacy, controlling their access to information, and deciding what/when/if they eat, among other things.

Okay I’m like fifteen minutes into the new season, The Curious Case of Natalia Grace -The Final Story, and my suspicion that I mentioned above about the social security money is correct. The Mans’s apparently like to collect disabled kids and then live off their checks. I’ll make another post after I’m done explaining all that went down in this drama. As ever, I’m staunchly on the side of Natalia, who has clearly been victimized in so many ways.
I have been watching the Curious Case of Natalia Grace, mainly for the second season where Natalia actually gets to speak for herself. It is so beyond upsetting, do not watch unless you're ready to rage.
There is a Lot to the story but I will sum it up as best I can. Natalia is a Ukrainian orphan with dwarfism, specifically Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita. Because of her disability she would need many surgeries for her feet, and money concerns related to this is considered one potential cause for what was to happen. After being passed around, a family called the Barnett's adopted her.
According them, Natalia was really an adult that was secretly trying to kill them. If it sounds familiar it's because it's the plot of the movie Orphan. This poor girl wound up with an incredibly abusive family that eventually decided they didn't want her but because the mother was so concerned with her image, she couldn't be seen as getting rid of a disabled child. So she tried to pass Natalia off as an adult pretending to be kid, and after lies and faked drama the Barnett's actually got Natalia legally re-aged to 22.
Natalia was actually about 8 years old. Dental records, DNA tests, doctor's records, her own biological mother, who gave her up because she couldn't care for a disabled child, all say she was born in 2003 and was a child at the time of these events.
So Natalia was put in an apt at age 8, and Mrs Barnett forced her to tell people she was 22. Ableism and ignorance of little people plays a huge part here, otherwise no one would have believed her age was 22 nor would it have been legally changed. Even though neighbors thought she was young, they went with the lie and proceeded to view entirely childish behavior as weird and annoying. Because she lacked the fucking boundaries and sense of stranger danger of a typical 8 year old!!!!! They also said she said a lot of sexually stuff, and I don't know why I should need to explain to you what 8 year olds do when they hear things!!! An 8 year old with no adult, looking to anyone for company and just help. It's beyond upsetting to think of what it must have been like for her during this time.
Natalia was evicted after a year and moved to another apartment. Not too long after being there she met a family that recognized she was a fucking child, took her in, and called the goddamn cops. First people in Natalia's poor life to do something for her. She is still with them to this day, with what looks like a beautiful loving family.
The Barnett's were charged, the husband was ables to get acquitted in part because the judge decided her Legal age would stand, and he could only be accused of abandoning a disabled person and not a minor. Meanwhile no one could let the jury know she was really a minor when this happened. Huge miscarriage of justice and the wife was never taken to trial.
It's a hard documentary to watch, especially when you get a lot of the Barnett's story first without much dissecting of the facts. But then you do get Natalia's side, and the Barnett's lies are laid to waste. One of them being that Natalia had pubic hair and a period. She never did, the wife made her say it to the husband. I mean, there's a lot of fucked up shit that happened to Natalia that I have not mentioned. I'm also not getting into the drama within the Barnett family except to say the husband tried to blame it all on the wife, claims he was abuse and avoids accountability, and is the most pathetic excuse for a human being, honestly. The wife is no better, she's just a monster.
The thing that pisses me off so much though are the attorneys, especially this one guy that Knows Natalia was a child and acts like she has to take accountability for being a troubled child. Of course he offers up all excuses for his client.
And that's the rub, Natalia had her childhood robbed from her, then and now. She's not ever granted the view of her behavior as mitigated by being a child. They even showed one of her neighbors refuses to accept she was 8 and not 22, and she knows for sure because she was hussy and just knows how to put on an act. It just amazes me how quick we are to jump to the most negative explanation for something and ignore any evidence to the contrary.
I'm just glad Natalia was able to have a voice in this drama, and that she finally has the family she had always wanted.

Had a dream last night about a gravity falls game where you play as young Stanley having to sneak around and lie to stay out of trouble with Filbrick. It wasn't really a horror game but it had a lot of horror game-like mechanics and there was a general sense of discomfort the entire time.
The only quest I can remember is one where Stanley gets a bad report card while Stanford gets a good one. Filbrick is out doing business until tomorrow so you have until the morning to try and make it look like you got good grades. There's an option to use white out on Stanford's card while he sleeps and write your name instead.
You could also get future readings from mom, who would give hints on what will happen to you next so you can start setting up lies and stealing in advance instead of scrambling to cover yourself last minute. (If you could figure out what the readings were hinting at. They got progressively more vague as the game went on, going from "I hear" and "I see", to "I feel")
You didn't get to see what happened when Filbrick caught him, it just cut to a game over screen. You could be caught and sent to your room three times before this happens (which ends the quest you're on. Because you failed to lie well enough). There is no way to win. The game would just keep going with scenarios until you lost or gave up
There was a vending machine on the board walk that had warped reflections in the glass that corrected itself when you looked at it head-on
