i think if you add up the amount of screen time he had it'd only to 5 minutes of footage??? maybe???? sooooo like.... how much do you expect me to care, really??

stranger things major dates:
(this is actually part of a much larger post i plan on making, with a loooot of background bullshit that nobody cares about, but this is just the dates :P please note that it took me a while to get the hang of this note taking thing so it’ll get more accurate as the seasons progress, feel free to fact check me)
(other thing to notes: I'm assuming that all of these dates are one after the other or even simultaneously, but according to wikis online, the timeline is much more stretched out, implying that there are other days we don't see.)
S1
Will went missing on November 6th, 1983. There were search parties November 6th and 7th; on November 7th there was the big storm and it was called off.
Steve’s party was on a Tuesday . Steve broke Jonathan’s camera the next day, which was the day of the funeral, as well as the day Will was rescued .
[UPDATE: i missed a day in here, because Steve breaking the camera was a catalyst for Nancy seeing the photos, which led to Nancy and Jonathan going monster hunting, and they spent the night together before Will was rescued. Sorry for the goof!]
Other dates mentioned:
Joyce has worked at Melvalds for ten years
According to Hop, the last missing person was summer of 23, last suicide in 61.
Seven years prior (1976) there was a drowning in the quarry
S2
The season starts on October 30th
Mike says into the walkie that it’s day 352
el tells hop on November 1st that it’s day 326 (since she moved in with Hop). She runs away on day 327.
Wills birthday is March 22nd.
The time skip is implied to be late November/early December (okay honestly i don’t remember how i came to this conclusion, it’s just in my notes. I think the title card must’ve said “one month later” or something.)
^ this is when Hawkins lab gets raided by govt vehicles with Murray watching, as well as Hop getting El’s forged birth certificate. The Snow Ball is around this time as well.
Other dates mentioned:
“Last month a coworker of Ted Wheelers” discussed El. Not sure how he blabbed after almost an entire year.
Steve was aiming for early application into college, which was closing soon.
Steve and Nancy were working on their Halloween costumes for “a stupid amount of time”.
At some point between S1 & 2, they took Will to a doctor in Chicago.
Nancy says she waited. Jonathan says only a month.
S3
The only actual date on the timeline I noted was the fourth of July. Sorry. I'd have to count backwards for the rest of the plot points and I guarantee I will count wrong.
There is a time skip for three months later, which would now be October 1985.
Other dates mentioned:
El watches Miami Vice on Fridays. It starts at 10.
The Hawkins Post tagline says "Courage in Journalism since 1947".
The Journal Tribune publishes an article headlined "SCANDAL ROCKS SMALL TOWN" about Starcourt on July 11th, 1985
The Indianapolis Gazette publishes an article headlined "THIRTY DEAD", and the subheader reads "Hero Chief Dies in Fire" on July 15th, 1985
The Journal Tribune publishes an article headlined "MAYOR UNDER FIRE", and above it there is text that reads "Hawkins makes headlines around the nation" on July 12th, 1985
After the three month time skip, a news special on Channel 4 WCPK-TV links Satanism and D&D for the first time within the show
The Byers are packing up after the time skip. Jonathan says, "Seventeen years of my life. Packed up in one day." (kind of impressive tbh)
Mike initially planned on visiting the Byers for Thanksgiving, and El is supposed to come back for Christmas (this obviously does not happen).
S4
The massacre at Hawkins Lab was September 8th, 1979.
(apparently I neglected to take note of any actual Date Dates after this)
The season starts on the Friday before Spring break.
Mike arrives in Lenora on Saturday morning.
El is arrested on Sunday.
Joyce and Murray are told to meet Yuri in two days on a Saturday, which means that episode takes place on a Monday.
The original Creel murders happened in 1959.
When Erica yells at Jason, she says she's been covering for Lucas for two days.
The faux reference latter that Nancy has for Director Hatch is dated March 29th, 1986
Lucas and Max agree to a movie date the following Friday
The death toll two days later is 22
Other dates mentioned:
Max sees Miss Kelly on Thursdays
The Indianapolis Gazette published an article headlined "3 Dead as Police Probe Grisly Scene" about Creel on Thursday, March 18, 1959 (the text on the date is super blurry, I'm mostly confident I got Thursday and March right but I can only mostly tell the date is two digits, and the first digit is a 1)
Victor Creel was back from war for 14 years when he bought the house in Hawkins
Billy was born March 29, 1967
The Nina Project was named after the opera Nina by Nicolas Dalayrac in 1786
Dustin's birthday is in two months, three days, and five hours (from when they reach Suzie)
The dates on Brenner's tapes:
Dustin's shirt says "Craftsbury Banjo Contest" with the year 1986 on it
The Hawkins Presbyterian Church was constructed in 1897
#Stranger Things#Stranger Things timeline#Stranger Things fanfic#Stranger Things Fanfiction#Hawkins#i would like to thank ios for letting me copy text directly from images for saving my ass on that alt text#amboolents originals#amboolents idea

A few things I noticed in my S3 and S4 rewatch. And I finally have a theory about what all those wagons mean!
A hidden Chicago mention in S3
I didn't remember that the kids' codename in S3 is Griswold family!
This is a reference to the 1983 movie National Lampoon's vacation. The story of a man who decides to lead his wife and their kids, a boy and a girl, on a cross-country expedition from the Chicago suburbs to the southern California amusement park Walley World.
In S3 El hears Hopper and Joyce talk about going to Illinois, and at the end of the season Joyce and the kids move to California. They are the Griswolds. I mean, we know that Hopper is El's father and Joyce is Will's mother. But since Jon is never included in these references I think it means that Will and El are Joyce and Hopper's kids, and Jon is Joyce and Lonnie's son. Also, I have thoughts about the wife in the movie, Ellen, meeting her cousin Catherine (russian variant, Katerina-> diminutive form, Katinka) who's married to a guy named Edward. But that's for another post.
The meaning of the wheelbarrows
I'm analyzing all the hints that there might've been a car crash in 1976 and that that's the event that separated Jane from her family. I don't think she was abducted when she was born, I think her life changed because of the car accident: time loop/time manipulation made her end up in the lab and it was like she was never part of the family.
But if she is connected to water- the void, the water tanks, even Stobin's sailor outfit, since they represent Willel (a car accident in a frozen lake?) Will has always been associated with fire. And we see three cars on fire in the show: the engine of Hopper's car explodes in S3, Billy's car catches fire in 3x08, and Fred has a vision of a car on fire in S4. When I rewatched Fred's vision I realized that this is connected to Will.
Before Fred sees the car, a dog barks and we see a wheelbarrow in the trailer park. A clear reference to Will's vanishing in 1x01.
A car in the middle of the street. In 1x01 Will swerves off the roard and crashes his bike in the woods. In 3x01 Billy gets possessed after he's run off the road by a creature.
In his vision, Fred also sees a coffin and the grandfather clock, which has the name Williams on it. A car on fire, the name William on a coffin, and in the same season we see the tombstone of William Hargrove.
I think the wheelbarrows represent the car in the accident in 1976 that changed everything. Maybe a station wagon?
The wheelbarrow in front of Mrs Driscoll's house, when she's already possessed by the particles, after the Castle Byers scene, in which a dog barks and Will is about to realize that the Mind Flayer is back.
And in S1 we see the other person who's involved in all this. Brenner.
EDIT: Found another wheelbarrow
This one. And we even get an "upside down" mention in this scene
And a red one at the end of S4, behind Joyce, Hopper and El, and the wooden pole points right to Joyce and El

been watching chicago med and i’m either on s3 or s4 BUT i am starting to absolutely despise natalie manning and her character (ill put it under a readmore because i got a lot of words and she absolutely disgusts me)
First off, I know that she's an ER doc specializing in peds (though, maybe its because of how fast I watched everything but I never saw any epi specifically say that but its there whatever).
My disgust comes from how 1)she approaches people that aren't physically/mentally/emotionally prepared to have children and 2)how hypocritical she is. So lets get into it:
Her approach to her patients with children: I appreciate her dedication to childcare– whether this be giving the child the best of care or advocating for their rights when the guardian/parent(s) aren't listening. The thing... some of the things she's done or said are so surface-level, that they don't account for what happens after they leave the ER. Take the epi where she accidentally got a mother and her baby separated because she suspected child abuse due to a stained hematoma from child birth. Her medicine was sound, of course— anyone would suspect child abuse in that scenario. What I didn't like, and this patient (abbrev. pt) rightfully called out, was her judgemental ass. Like listen, I've worked in the medical field for years and even if you are judgemental towards something, you should NEVER let it affect how you treat/care for pt. Nat says she judged teh mom for being a single mother raising her child but... babygirl, you're a GD doctor. Your mother-in-law literally watches your kid FOR FREE. Your husband died from war– you know exactly who he is! That single mother was literally working two jobs just to support her and her baby. She even said that she doesn't know who the dad is so clearly she can't just "drop" the kid off at grandma's. People literally do the best that they can in the situation that they're in, whether purposeful or accidental. Whether or not they make sense is a wholedifferent thing. Like the other epi where the pt's older brother was a sociopath and the parents decided not to institutionalize him. As outsiders, ofc we'd be on Nat's side about taking him away from hurting his brother. But that's the thing– we are outsiders!! Nat's saying all this stuff yet if put in the same situation, she'd likely do the same thing as what those parents did and continue to keep him around. The decision to have kids is already an unfortunately loaded question but what about after? She has little to no care of her pts past the exit. This can get longwinded so if anyone wants more lmk otherwise imma stop here for this.
Hypocrisy: She's a straightup hypocrite. Early seasons, she followed most of the rules. She wasn't Will, ya know? But what got to me was how the show writes her cases. Ex. she had changed a treatment plan that Will was against because she didn't think it was that. Mind you, Will's under fire from that DNR incident. Before the autopsy, Will is rightfully angry that she switched treatment plans, despite her trying to justify it. Never change a treatment plan! Even with disagreements, shit will happen. There are contraindications, there are escalations, there's a bunch of different things that can happen even if the change is small. Not only was Will trying to be a good doctor, he was also trying to be a law-abiding, rule-following doctor. What about the time when she fought tooth and nail to use an experimental, not FDA-approved (not even a multi-stage study) drug to treat a cancer pt. Ofc, Will is furious that she's adamant on the switch and lo-behold, the pt dies. Now, this concoction could've worsen the cancer right? Except, rather than writing it so it either didn't have an effect or had a miniscule effect, the autopsy revealed that her concoction actually shrank it a few cms. Aint no fucking way that it did that-- mainly because there were no clinical trials documenting it. I mean, GIRL, WHAT ABOUT THE SIDE EFFECTS? Medicine isnt a magic potion unforunately. The time when she went off on that skivvy priest and his 14-year old wife is also on my list. She yells at Will or whatever doctor about professionalism but her attitude towards him (though RIGHTFULLY SO) was peak unprofessionalism. I mean there is a lot of bureaucracy in almost any institution, whether profit or nonprofit, but when anyone else breaks it, they get serious consequences. When Nat does it, its just a damn warning. Hell! What about when they induced a death-appearing coma to the guy that was abusing his wife? Shittt son, I'm surprised Will agreed to that given his DNR incident. God forbid that pt actally fucking died-- they both would've lost theirmedical licenses.
I just have so much to say! She gives me 'popular in HS' vibes since she is "always" right, rarely gets any true punishment/consequences and yaps of unprofessionalism to other people when she literally does the same thing. What crossed it for me and its the reason why I'm writing this now is when she snapped at Dr. Charles when she cut the dosage in half for a bipolar pregnant mother. You mean to tell me that YOU were in the right because you don't have time to keep up with every new psych journal? You literally specialize in peds– youre supposed to keep up with any and everything child-related, including pregnancies! Chief! God forbid there's new research and because you dont have fucking time to do some research (or at least keep up with medical literature), you end up killing a pt due to ignorance.
Maybe its how the writers are writing her but she's just... DISGUSTING. As a self-identifying female, I'm all about feminine/female power but this? Nah chief– Maggie is better written than she is and she's "just a charge nurse"!

please excuse my language but i am watching chicago med for the first time and just got to season four or five im not sure but how on earth has natalie manning not been fired? she is a complete bitch and downright horrible to patients and families and friends of patients and is aggressive and abusive and judgmental too because she’s not a good doctor or person to say the least from what ive seen so far
Look, im rewatching s4 and s5 and my rage is immeasurable 🤭 like she forces her opinion down her patient’s throats and then the next second she’s preaching about a kid’s right to keep a pregnancy secret. She bitches on Will for not telling her everything then goes on about how some lies are necessary. Don’t even get me started on how fast she moved from Will to Philip and the whole Philip saga.
You are definitely not alone in this!

You’re reaction to Danny dying being “meh” is so funny to me. I obviously cried because I tought the scene of them bringing out his body was sad but your reaction caught me off guard 😂
ssdfrtyghjkl, it's not that i hate him or anything it's just that they've given us literally next to nothing about him as a character other than the fact that he's jimmy's brother, and he works in a different house than him. and it's not really like there's an awful lot to know about jimmy either. i love this show, but they don't flesh out their characters enough, and while i teared up watching that scene of his body being carried out, i'm just not emotionally attached enough to really care that much. especially considering those first few episodes of the season when he was being a douche about which house jimmy should be in.

What happened in cpd that has you excited? I'm not caught up but it's fine to spoil it for me
Hello, nonny!
I am... thinking so many thoughts about this episode and my Mouse headcanons and I want to write a fic in any of my various AUs where Jay and Mouse are still with the team so they can have an input on this case and everything going down with it, but I don't have time, so instead I will sit and think about things and cry about them???
And, while you don't mind spoilers, I will put everything about last night's episode under a read more for anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled 💜
The thing is... I put off watching this episode because I had stuff to do and I usually prioritize Fire and Med. I'm quieter now about my opinions but, until this episode, I didn't care about Voight's problems. Like at all.
And then this episode happened. And I care about this Voight storyline so much. I love that he gets to be a Dad again. Opening up the episode with the scene in the bar and the picture of Justin is gonna live in my heart and my soul forever.
Brief recap of the episode:
Voight discovers blood in an alleyway and looks at the cameras from the store on the corner to see what's going on. He sees footage of an abduction, and the unit looks into it because... of course they do. And they find the identity of the victim and call his family...
The kid's name is Noah Gorman, he's 19 years old, and he's been living in Chicago for two months. His mother says she doesn't need updates on the case because she "no longer [has] a son." His parents kicked him out of their home in Indiana when he came out to them as gay. He ran away to Chicago, started doing drugs, and was abducted from the alleyway when he stopped to pet a cat.
Now... I am... me? So, obviously, I was already sad about Mouse like ten minutes into the episode when all this was dropped on me. A baby? Kicked out and disowned for being gay? Drugs???
I also got to see Greg the mouse so that was fun
I was actually a little startled by how Voight interacted with this kid. He was so gentle and careful when talking about his trauma, very clearly aware of how hard the entire situation was. I mean, this kid was completely alone in a new city, got abducted, was stabbed half a dozen times... He just wanted to be left alone to be miserable, and Voight wouldn't let him. He talked him out of a spiral and is now letting Noah stay with him in his house so that he isn't completely alone and scared.
I love that Voight is stepping into this parental role again, it's something that we haven't really seen since s4 when Erin was still there. (I know people make arguments for his relationship with Jay but that wasn't fatherly, in my opinion, that was an authority figure when Jay has been taking orders since he was 18 years old)
I'm actually very excited to see where this goes. I don't know how I'm gonna wait three weeks to see more of this without imploding.

Tbh, I think if they actually managed to build a female character like that for Buck, people would just call her mary sue 😭 The thing is people don't want to se either Eddie or Buck with any woman. It certainly doesn't help the women the show gives to them have zero construction as characters. The point here is that the show should stop trying to get them in relationship with women because in the eyes of the fandom, no woman will fit the standard for Buck and Eddie.
That's bull, the thing about storytelling, is if you tell it right, then you get results.
I hated Brett with Casey in Chicago Fire, but they wrote them cute, and supportive, they wrote them in a way that made me root for them.
I hated Sullivan for Andy in Station 19, but they wrote them so well, that I found myself loving them as a couple anyway.
Neither Eddie nor Buck were written in a heterosexual way throughout these seasons, but, if say, at around S4 they would have brought female characters, and wrote them properly, developed them properly, as more than just a tool or a prop, you know, something that dignifies strong, independent women everywhere and made us love them, then by the time they got together with the guys we would have loved them together.
You can't take a woman at the edge of a season finale, stick her on a guy's arm and say, "Here, couple."
It's like in that episode in S1 with the Valentines day crazy lady, who thought if she cut out Athena's heart and put it in the dead scumbag, he will become a good person (who's alive).
It doesn't work like that.
Relationships develop over time, not in an episode and a half, it just doesn't work that way.
#911 ask#leave behind the stick to buddie notion#that is not the issue here#at all#911 female guest characters gets no respect from the writers#how can you expect a watcher to like her if that's how she's written#911 fox#deluweil answers

Hi lovely☀️
Pls pls could I request an Otis gif set S4 Ep19 I’ll Be Walking, I know that you’ve already made a gif set that includes the very first scene where Otis is in the locker room about to change but could I make a special request that includes specifically the scene where he’s taking off his shirt, Like he starts by rolling up his sleeves then he proceeds to taking it off completely while Hermann is talking about bad mojo or something there’s even an eye roll from Otis all while he’s taking his shirt off. Then after the brief break where we just see Hermann talking is the scene where Otis is now shirtless (before Joe tells him about the bruise). No dialogue needed🩷
done :)

It's happening at some point after the show ends, I can feel it! Bearnation, we just gotta organize our efforts toward that goal. And we have to start this year, before S4!
That's why the characters are like that, bc Storer originally envisioned them for a 2-hour movie. Then when that script turned into a TV script he had to take every layer of the characters and develop them, stretch them even, to make them fit a TV format, to have enough material for a whole season or even more in case the show got picked up.
Also, I bet Claire Nolastname (the underdeveloped character) wasn't part of the original movie script he drafted. Syd's was, and served the "open ending" purpose of that movie that never happened, kinda along the lines of what we ended up seeing in S1's finale: Braciole, where Syd & Carmy were not an item per se, but when she came back and stayed by accepting his offer of opening up a restaurant together -aka his "apology"- implied that they could potentially become one eventually because there was "something" there. That was the backbone of the gooey eyes and their silent dialogue before he actually pitched the idea of becoming partners.
In the case of a film, that storyline would have been only implied, never explicitly told, just an open ending, a hint, that's it because the movie was not about that, it was not a Romance movie so: "the untold love story of an EC and a CDC thriving at a new restaurant in Chicago after being in the pits of hell making sandwiches and setting things on fire in the kitchen." Full stop - would have been just a nice way to warp things up, nothing more. But now we are on the small screen, hence: S2 and all the Sydcarmy developments we saw there, in other words: the stretching and peeling off of the layers of the main characters and their relationship, (he trying to ask her out in the locker room but never really growing a pair to actually do it, her girl fan behavior while cooking together, her jealousy she can't even bring herself to admit when she found out about Claire, bc we all know it's not just about work and him ditching her to have a social life while she (and Nat) makes The Bear happen and puts in the work, the holding on to her notebook, the drawing their chaos menu while he should have been giving his time and attention to his "girl who was a friend", the panic attack, the conversation under the table, the custom jacket that I bet my ass he designed himself, the reminiscence of Syd when he's broken on the floor, trapped in the walk-in looking at the fennel and the radicchio → base ingredients of the dish they cooked together and ended up spitting out at his place) that explains why that storyline is now finally being told on TV and actually developed this way. And will continue being told like that throughout the show, in a slow-burn fashion most likely, as we have a 4 season span to fill.
My point is: WE HAVE MATERIAL FOR A MOVIE HERE BECAUSE THE BEAR WAS ORIGINALLY THOUGHT OF LIKE THAT. SO LET'S GET TO WORK ON MAKING THAT MOVIE HAPPEN ONCE THE BEAR ENDS. THEY ARE ALREADY PLANNING, AND PROBABLY SHOOTING BACK TO BACK, S4, WHICH MAY BE THE LAST ONE. I WANT A MOVIE A FEW YEARS LATER. WHO'S WITH ME? STORER SURE WILL BE, BECAUSE THAT WAS HIS ORIGINAL IDEA...
Best Oscars ever! It got me craving
