Hello everyone and welcome to my second day of blogging about Palestine

today i wanted to highlight some charities and foundations that you can financially support instead of big companies who are going to fund your money into guns and supplies for the Israel troops

1. Press - House Palestine

Press-house Palestine is a non-for-profit organisation which supports the journalists documenting the lives of people within Gaza. This organisation grants journalists with legal protection so that their experiences and freedom of speech can be presented online. ( they also have a instagram by the name @press_house_palestine ) This link provides articles about ongoing events within the country

2. Doctors Without Borders

i’m sure that there a high chance that you have heard about this one before, but ill mention it anyways since its a good charity. Doctors Without Borders is a organisation dedicated to supplying medical aid to places without proper access to it. what i have linked below is a donation link for their specific Gaza cause, which both implores for a ceasefire and provides Palestinians with medical equipment. you have the option to donate monthly or just one time

3. Islamic Relief Australia

this organisation is one that is located within Australia, but strives to provide food and water to the people. So far they have already given 16000+ people water and over 1 million ready-to-eat meals. They also have other donation links within the site that incudes to help rebuild infrastructure within Gaza and to help rehome palestinians to Australia. NOTE: There are other varients of this organisation within other countries such as the UK

4. Olive Kids

Olive kids is a foundation focused on supporting the children of Gaza. this includes education, medicine and food. This is another Australian-based foundation but that is because i live in australia. if you want to find region specific causes for your location then please google it yourself. Australian causes can be donated to by anyone anyways so you might aswell use this info anyways

5. Action Aid UK

this foundation focuses on providing Palestinians with the services that they do not have anymore, such as power and electricity. They do 90% immediately going towards the people of Gaza and 10% for future emergencies

I also want to stress two things. 1, if you arent in the right financial position to donate then dont, spreading the word does help aswell and 2, im not the excuse for you not to research yourself. all of these groups i found by myself via google, and as long as you have some media literacy, you too can find information. and you should find more than 5 and spread it around, i just wanted to highlight 1 from 5 different sections since i hadnt even heard about most of these until now.

These are Omar(2) and Salah(5), Bilal's nephews. 8 months ago, they were enjoying the warmth of their home and being pampered by their parents and everyone in the family. The pictures below are from Omar's first birthday. Bilal told me how he was the one who prepared everything for the surprise party. He was,then, so excited to gather the whole family and give Omar a memorable first birthday and bring joy to everybody.

Now, Omar and Salah are going through hardships no child should be experiencing. They are surrounded by rubble and unsanitary conditions wherever they go; not to mention the random bombings that threaten their lives every moment of every day. Omar took his first steps while being displaced in a tent in Rafah. Imagine your baby learning to walk in a refugee camp under the constant buzzing of drones! The children and the whole family had to endure the cold winter and being drenched by rain in their flimsy tent, and now they have to go through the unbearable heat in the same inhumane circumstances. As if all this suffering wasn't enough, the occupation is currently asking everyone in Rafah to evacuate again, even the hospitals!

The survival of Omar, Salah, and the whole family in now more than ever at stake. Bilal has been in Germany for a year or so now. The thought that he might never get to see his beloved nephews again haunts him every day. He humbly asks for your support to help him keep his loved ones safe until he has the chance to reunite with them, hopefully as soon as possible. I am Mahmoud AbuShammala, 30 years old, residing in Belgium. I am writing to you today to urgently seek your help to save the remaining members of my family in Gaza.

We are a large family consisting of 11 siblings, along with our parents Ahmed and Saada. We lived in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, and had a decent and happy life. Each of us has our own family living in Rafah, Khan Younis, and Gaza. Our lives were stable until the war came at the end of 2023, turning everything upside down

On 13/02/2024, we lost our dear father due to shelling, and my mother could not bear the shock, passing away a few weeks later on 02/03/2024. The tragedy did not stop there; we also lost my sister Huda’s husband, Abdulrahim, due to random shelling. In total, we have lost nearly 50 family members and relatives

Our homes were destroyed completely or partially, and our lives turned into homelessness. We live in tents and overcrowded shelters that are unfit for human life. My family members moved between Khan Younis and Rafah seeking safety, suffering from food shortages, disease outbreaks, and lack of medical care. Children’s lives became at risk, losing their right to education and suffering from lack of care and affection

Any amount can make a significant difference in our family’s life. Help us share our story and raise awareness of our plight. My name is Samar, and I am a wife and mother of three beautiful children living in Gaza. Life has always been difficult, but our home—our only sanctuary—gave us some shelter from the horrors of war. That sanctuary no longer exists; it was destroyed by a bomb that erased 18 years of memories. 💥

Today, we live in a tent under unbearable conditions, having lost many loved ones—family members and friends, including several of my husband’s cousins. Every loss feels like a hard slap, and the fear of losing more haunts us daily. 🪦💔

We have been displaced nine times, narrowly escaping bombings each time. Our only dream now is to find a safe place where we can live with dignity, far from the nightmare we endure every day.

In the tent, my children are suffering. Their skin burns under the relentless sun, and they struggle with respiratory illnesses. They have developed jaundice and gastrointestinal infections from the lack of clean water and proper food. Their innocent faces, once full of joy, are now filled with fear. It breaks my heart to see them live like this, and I am terrified they will grow up knowing nothing but war and suffering. 🔥

Living in Gaza is dangerous, and no one can leave without paying a large sum of money. The only way to escape is to cross into Egypt, which costs between $5,000 - $7,000 per person. For our family of seven, this is an impossible amount.

My name is Marah, I am 20 years old and I have a sister named Nour who is 18 years old. At the beginning of the war, we were displaced from the Al-Karamah area to the southern Gaza Strip with my family of 8 members: me, mom, dad, my sister Nour, my three brothers and my baby sister. Dad rented a house in the Deir al-Balah area for us to live in and feel safe after our house in Gaza was destroyed. On the tenth day of the war, one day, my sister Nour and I went to the market to buy some things and clothes. At one point, my heart suddenly beat and I felt that something had happened to my family. My sister and I ran and found that the house we were in had been completely bombed. All we found of my family was small pieces of limbs and some burnt clothes. We could not recognize the features of my family. Imagine that you do not know what your family looks like!!!! My mom had no head, my dad had his legs and hands cut off and his eyes were flying, we didn’t see any features in my brothers and my baby sister, I didn’t find anything but the cute little shoes we bought in Gaza, my sister and I were the only ones left and we had no support in this life, so I made this link so that my sister and I could travel and leave the conflict of war and fear and complete our university studies, you are our second family who put our hope in you and we took so long to tell you our story, really thank you to everyone who listened to our story.

I have never seen a more appropriate title to commemorate this day

On the seventh of October

We have now spent a full year in a brutal, destructive and painful war

When I say that pain changes people, this is an absolute truth, and I do not mean a change in the origin of man, but rather I mean that pain destroys your internal parts, destroys your beautiful feelings, destroys your external appearance, and distorts everything beautiful in you until you become like a faded ghost, without color, taste, or smell. We lived through pain in all its meanings. We were displaced from our warm homes. We lost many wonderful family and friends. Our memories were destroyed in our streets and our lives. We lived through famine, terror, and fear. For a whole year we still suffered and the pain consumed us. Our dreams were destroyed. My daughters’ future is unknown. We feel lost. A whole year. The pain changed us and destroyed us violently, but hope in God is always there, and with your help and efforts we will overcome the difficult things, but we will not forget the pain and these 365 days.
