Creators' Club: Meet the Project: Fantasy Worlds Collide

For this week, I'm going to do something a little different. I'm going to be talking about the entirety of the 'Fantasy Worlds Collide' passion project. This project spans two fandoms (Final Fantasy 7 and Inuyasha), as well as original work centered on the kingdoms of the abyssal and infernal plane.

You could say that FWC was created 27 years ago when I first made Bianca. At the time, she was a human who worked at Shinra. I'm proud of how she evolved since them.

The Infernal and Celestial Planes are embroiled in eternal conflict. Azrakiel, now Asmodeus, Prince of Lust, yearns for omnipotence. Obsessed with a prophecy foretelling a being of light and dark reshaping the Omniverse, he abducts a guardian archangel, Seraphine, fathering Bianca Moore. To protect her, Seraphine sacrifices herself, sending Bianca to the future. Asmodeus relentlessly pursues her across time, dimensions, and other realms, including the Inuyasha and Final Fantasy 7 realms. Bianca, raised as human, discovers her celestial powers, faces exile from the Celestial Realm, and battles her destiny in a clash of cosmic forces.

The Pathway's most enigmatic aspect is its profound connection to the Edge of Creation, a mystery within the Final Fantasy 7: Remake, awaiting exploration and understanding in the grand tapestry of the multiverse.

Nephilim: A Unique Fusion of Infernal and Celestial Essence. Singular in Existence. Possesses the Potential to Unleash Unprecedented Multiversal Powers. Crafted as the Vanquisher of Deities—Gods, Celestials, and Infernals Alike. Revered as the Harbinger of Darkness and Madness Across Realms. Reverberating in Biblical Lore, the Nephilim is Symbolized by the Mighty Dragon.

Bianca's journey, marked by love, betrayal, and sacrifice, reaches a pivotal moment at Shinra Manor. There, she finds solace with Sephiroth amidst the chaos of the basement. Their intense, albeit brief, romance is challenged by Sephiroth's dark descent. Bianca grapples with her conflicting emotions, torn between love and fear of her powers succumbing to darkness. After Sephiroth's devastating actions, Bianca aids her newfound comrades but soon faces caputre and torture under Professor Hojo's experiments and daily infusion of Jenova cells and Shinra's control. Freed by Reeve Tuesti, she escapes, encounters a Sephiroth clone named SC X and journeys to the Northern Crater with the help of Sephiroth. There, Bianca stands as a sentinel, overpowered by her demonic heritage fueled by Jenova cells and bound to Sephiroth in love and destiny.

Diana Ravenscroft: Diana Ravencroft commands Shinra's research as one of the lead scientists and assistant to Professor Hojo. She ruthlessly oversees experiments, including those on Bianca Moore, as she is driven by her need for scientific advancement. Her cold demeanor gives way to obsession as she tries to understand Bianca's celestial-angelic origins, much like Hojo's fascination with Jenova.

Sephiroth: Sephiroth, the legendary warrior of SOLDIER and son of Jenova, is both feared and revered. His silver hair and piercing green eyes mask a tormented soul. Amidst the chaos of his dark ambitions, he finds an unexpected love interest in Bianca Moore, who he has a bond with that shapes their destinies.

Worldbuilding:

Eternal Convergence: The soul-bond known as Eternal Convergence links Bianca and Sephiroth across space and time through a mystical 'red string of fate'. This connection allows them to feel each other's emotions and pains even when seperated by their alternate versions of Earth (and Gaia), which both shook off as phantom sensations. However, the ability to communicate, as well as having their emotions amplified, was awakened once Bianca was injected with S cells and Jenova cells, respectively. This bond transcends space and time, creating a twin soul link that influences their actions and decisions. It is represented by a red string tied around both of their wrists. This string appears when they are close to each other with red heart loops spaced half a centimeter apart.

Project N: Project N, an offshoot of the Jenova Project, is the code name for 'Project Nephilim" and is named after Bianca Moore's heritage and is lead by Professor Hojo and his assistant, Diana Ravenscroft. Once it is discovered that Bianca's demonic blood can slow the degradation of the Jenova and S cells, as well as her ability to regenerate completely, she is subjected to gruesome dissections and infusions that highlights the cruelty of Hojo and Ravencroft's ambitions and Bianca's own resilience, leading to a deep hatred for Hojo, Ravencroft, and Shinra.

Bianca, once loved by David and Sarah Moore, struggled with night terrors and violent episodes, leading to her institutionalization at 10. Her life was shattered by Azrakiel's cult, which murdered Sarah and burned their home, forcing Bianca and David into a life on the run. This unstable existence deprived Bianca of stability and security, casting a shadow over her formative years. At 20, Bianca, a successful author, met and married Sesshomaru, who had silently protected her throughout her young life. He sent her to the feudal era for safety, where she faced battles alongside Sesshomaru, Rin, and Jaken. Bianca's powers grew as she fought Naraku and Azrakiel. Despite suffering losses,Bianca's determination and mastery of her angelic and demonic heritage led her to victory.

Worldbuilding

Cult of Asmodeus: The Cult of Asmodeus is a secretive and fanatical group devoted to the dark entity Azrakiel (Asmodeus). Known for their brutal acts of violence and arson, they destroyed Bianca's family home and tragically ended her mother Sarah's life. Led by zealotry and driven by Azrakiel's malevolent influence, they pursued Bianca relentlessly, forcing her and her father David into a life of constant flight and instability. Their actions left a deep scar on Bianca's soul, shaping her journey as she sought security amidst the chaos wrought by the cult's devotion to Azrakiel's dark legacy. They have their roots in Japan's Feudal Era.

Solstice: Solstice, Bianca's celestial sword, is a masterpiece of craftsmanship forged from a rare silver alloy. Adorned with intricate engravings and Enochian inscriptions, it symbolizes her angelic heritage and connection to the divine realm. As Bianca wields Solstice, it becomes a beacon of light and hope, embodying her role as a warrior of righteousness. This Great Sword channels her inner strength and celestial powers, enabling her to unleash devastating strikes against her foes while protecting those she cares for. Solstice's radiant presence on the battlefield marks Bianca's unwavering commitment to justice and her determination to confront the darkness that threatens her world.

I'm surprised that there's a wave of people that don't like Caldarus' design. Personally I really like it and I think it fits his personality and backstory (that we know of so far) very well. Caldarus is a curious, contemplative and mysterious, regal dragon god. He's also been asleep for a very long time and has been weakened by something (or someone) in the past that we have yet to discover. Of course he is on the frail side, the dragon man's been through it and he needs rest!! So yes, I think Caldarus' design suits him wonderfully.

Sub!Sess - Your Scent

Sesshomaru tends to get turned on by your scent, especially during mating season. Whenever you're not in the mood to deal with an overly horny dog demon, you switch from your scentless soap to something stronger, and douse yourself with perfume from the modern era. This annoys the hell out of him. Strange scents were invasive, threatening, and yes, you smelled like a field of cherry blossoms, but that could easily be someone else's scent on you. He'll be pouty about it, but then not so subtle when he leads you by one of those rivers with a slow current. “Take off your clothes.”

When you refuse to bathe and scold him for trying to order you around, he might take matters into his own hands and lick the product from your neck. He calms down once he can smell your natural scent coming through again. Calms down enough so that you have to deal with the very thing you were hoping to avoid.

All in all, while the perfume might get you a little time to yourself, just be careful with how often you use a singular scent, because he'll start associating that smell with you and it'll just get weird the next time he ventures into a cherry blossom field.

Sesshomaru x GN! Human Reader HC

Even if you were a yokai instead of a human, he still wouldn't be honest about his feelings.

He has too much pride for that to ever be possible.

He's protective of you, and makes up excuses that it's only because you're a human. It's like he always said, humans are weak and pathetic. They're so weak that without his arms around you now you'll die from the cold.

Denies anyone who tells him otherwise, nothing will make him change his mind. He's a mighty yokai who has travelled far and wide, he knows more than you do, so his opinion is more important than yours.

Sessohomaru's hatred for humans persists, but he makes an exception for you. He has no issue with brutally slaughtering humans right in front of you.

Your fights are all one-sided, with you getting angry over something Sesshomaru did. He won't argue with you, but you can tell he's not taking you seriously.

He knows there's nowhere you can run that he won't find. Anything you say about Sesshomaru while talking to Jaken will immediately be reported to his master.

Sesshomaru is far better at receiving affection than giving it. He won't move if you've fallen asleep on top of him, he might even run a hand through your hair.

Surprisingly, he acknowledges your human holidays and festivals. If you ever decide to go to one, he'll buy you a nice hairpin. When the shopkeeper teasingly asks if it's for a lover, he'll nod in response.

Sesshomaru will keep anything you give him, be it a pretty rock or a handmade scarf. He gets annoyed if you give him something that's hard to keep, like a flower. He wants to preserve anything you give him and keep it hidden away.

Sesshomaru enjoys your scent, and occasionally he'll lower his head and sniff your hair and along your neck. He'll also change into his dog form and curl protectively around you at night.

Sesshomaru makes an effort to never let you meet his brother. He thinks Inuyasha and Kagome would be a bad influence on you.

Just a drabble about a sweet Sesshomaru showing he cares...

The demon you love has been gone for over a week now, and with no end to his absence in sight, you cozy up in the village with Rin...

He's out to find Naraku, who has disappeared once again, much to the demon's dismay. He stops from time to time to let Jaken do whatever, as he is fed up with his toad-like companion's constant complaints. During one of these ritual stops, something shiny catches his eye. Walking further into the village, he is swept with a feeling of loss, as if he is missing something. While he is used to this feeling of being without you, it never gets easier. He smiles, thinking of how you scrunch your face up when you smell something putrid as he walks by the overwhelmingly strong smell of a perfume stand. Finally, making it to the stall that caught his eye, a simple traditional hairpin with jewels embedded in it. He recalls your eyes lingering on one just like this last time you both walked through a market; though you didn't get it, even denying ever wanting it after he offered to purchase it for you, he read you like a book...

The stallman was more than happy to give him the hairpin once he took a look at the demon in front of him; fearing for his life, he didn't even make him pay. After picking up some other goodies with Jaken's input for you and Rin, he returned to drop off the gifts that night. Without waking you, he left the hairpin and the other things by your bedroll with a note. He was exhausted and wanted nothing more than to lay down beside you, but much to his dismay, he had to leave again. though the sight of you safe and sound here made him feel a little better and he felt even better when he came back to you wearing his gift...

Let's just say you wore the hell outta that hairpin. <3

Sesshomaru Sucks (Mainly Sesshomaru x Rin)

Yeah. I said it. Fight me. Sesshomaru from Inuyasha freaking sucks and I'm tired of people on the internet acting like he doesn't just because he's married, conventionally attractive, and has kids. I don't even have a problem with the fact people like him. I have a problem with the fact people like him so they try to act like he's not a crappy person. I don't care for any so-called nuance this guy could have. I don't care what 'redemption' he was given. I don't care for any of that. I know for a fact that if this guy was uglier than a toad, you'd all hate him. Ain't no way in heck I'm gonna back down just because y'all are okay with the pairing of this eight year old girl with an adult freaking man.

On top of being a self-centered and careless jerk, he's also a major hypocrite and his (now romantic) relationship with Rin is so off-putting to me. "He isn't abusive to her----" Congratulations, he does the utter bare minimum---is he supposed to win a consolation prize for not being the scum of the Earth? "Oh, but Inuyasha and Kagome have a large age ga---" Inuyasha was mentally & physically (meaning both qualities should be present SIMULTANEOUSLY) the same age as Kagome when they first met. Ironically enough, before the whole Kikyo situation, he was 150 (which alludes to the fact he was a teenager within the realm of his species). The only reason why Inuyasha is chronologically older than he is---is because Kikyo shot an arrow into him that kept him in a state of limbo and being unchanged. Even regarding the overly complicated realm of when and how long it takes for supernatural beings like Inuyasha to age, one thing is for sure----Sesshomaru met Rin when she was LITTLE. "Oh, but he went away for a long time and met her as an adult---" I don't care. Let's really put this into perspective and think of what that fully entails. You're a fully grown adult who knew this person from the time they were eight years old. You then move away for a long time, then return---all for personal reasons. You see the person you knew as a child and meet with them. Would it NOT be considered weird at LEAST if you were to be in that situation and then think, "Hmm, I wanna get with that." In what universe would that context NOT be gross? Who in their right mind would willingly marry someone they used to know as a child while they were an ADULT? At least Inuyasha was mentally and physically a TEENAGER when he first met Kagome. Sesshomaru has known Rin as an adult from the time her age was a SINGLE DIGIT. The fact I even have to explain any of this makes me wonder if I'm in a simulation waiting for Morpheus to wake me up. If it wouldn't be okay for Kagome to wait until Shippo was an adult to have kids with him, why is it okay for Sesshomaru to do that with Rin? It makes no sense. "That's how it was back then---" Still doesn't make it any less gross, bro :) Though, let's say somehow that I am wrong----and that there's nothing wrong with Sesshomaru's relationship with Rin---

NOPE, never mind, he's still a major freaking hypocrite. He gave Inuyasha so much crap for having Kagome with him, hated his own mother for being human, hated his father for being WITH a human----only for him to then turn around, marry a human girl, and then have KIDS WITH HER. So even if everything else that I said before this aspect of the topic is incorrect (which I really don't think it is or will be convinced it's not), you gotta admit that Sesshomaru's behavior + hypocrisy is very slimy. Heck, even if they had her first encounter him as an adult or if he was ALSO kid when they first met---I most likely would've been a lot more receptive to them being a couple. "Oh you must've not watched the show/you have poor reading comprehension---" What else is there to comprehend? A guy married a girl who he knew as an adult when he had first met her when she was EIGHT. He practically raised this girl before letting her go with Kaede. WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO ANALYZE?! "Sesshomaru didn't raise Rin---" Okay, so what the heck was he doing the whole time she was around, then? Because he was protecting her, taking care of her, making sure she had stuff----that sounds like raising a child to me. Pretty sure Rumiko (the creator) even describes him as Rin's hogosha (which means protector). Even if not, the so-called romantic feelings Sesshomaru could've had are never mentioned of when they started forming. But no matter when or how it started, it's still VERY weird because he knew her when she a----say it with me----A SINGLE DIGIT. He still knew her as an adult when she was kid, so even if those 'feelings' were to have only begun when she was (let's say) 18, it's still off. I understand that both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru were previously morally corrupt/murderous beings before undergoing the general direction their stories went in. So as the audience, we tend to forgive things from them we normally wouldn't---especially considering the overall nature of their plot. But if a character is going to be a murderous piece of crap, don't have them be a hypocritical murderous piece of crap and act like we're supposed to forget it afterward. As much as I love the addition of Yashahime (because duh, it's more content that involves characters I like), the romantic relationship between Rin and Sesshomaru felt so unnecessary to me (if not downright disgusting---which it is). Don't get me wrong, Kagome and Inuyasha's relationship is not in any way perfect either, but at least Kagome wasn't freaking EIGHT YEARS OLD.

He really should've just stayed her father figure/caretaker/platonic mentor or something like that. A cold-blooded fiend like Sesshomaru reforming upon learning to care through adopting a child would've made a MUCH better and cuter arc for him than whatever the [BLEEP] this is.

Insult me all you want, but it's the truth. Sesshomaru x Rin is freaking disgusting.

Sub!Sess - Separation Anxiety

Sesshomaru gets lonely when you leave for the modern era, be it for family or other life reasons, he's upset because nothing seems to be a valid enough reason for abandoning him. He whimpers by the bone-eater's well, staring into pit that you ordered him not to follow you into. He becomes restless waiting for you, pacing around the well nonstop, getting increasingly frustrated when the sun sets on another day and you're still not back. He loses his appetite, starts taking his frustration out on the surrounding trees. Mercy on the souls of those who happen to venture into the area during that time, if they're ignorant to the radius of despair and bloodlust. When you finally return, you're pulled from the well as if you weigh nothing, into the arms of a red eyed, fang baring, tear stained inoyokai. You immediately assess the situation based on the state of the environment. "Did you miss me?"

Bonus: Now when you make a trip back for whatever reason, you always make sure Sesshomaru is settled first. This is achieved by overstimming him—a challenge with his demon libido taken into account, but doable. When he’s tired out, he won't pace around restlessly during your absence. For good measure, you also gift him this huge plushy that's covered in your scent and has a recording of your voice inside. He’s convinced it’s some type of sorcery, so you spend some extra time explaining Build-A-Bear. Once he understands the science behind it, he absolutely loves your gift. Don’t think it’ll get you out of cuddles, though.
