In the end, Rin says on an early summer day, just as the sun is about to set. It comes out wrong, too. “Kaede,” she says, “is unusually long-lived.”

It’s this exquisite moment in which sunshine drapes the world—the village and the grass and the people—in the gold of jewellery or fine kimonos, a shade so precious she, too, feels silk-fine. Lord Sesshomaru makes a short, low sound in acknowledgment, and Rin notices his eyes flick towards the village below, past the slope of the hill and the scintillating stream of water irrigating the rice fields.

Kaede, bright red trousers and a frown, trudges out of the hut they have shared for years—looking for her, calling her home. Not that Rin can see her expression from here, but she knows she’s frowning. She usually is, when Lord Sesshomaru is here. 

His eyes are on her, now, and somehow the bark under the palms of her hands becomes rougher, the log uncomfortable. She stretches her legs, her kimono riding up her calves to show a patch of skin that she began to cover years ago. His gaze, at time inscrutable, feels like scrutiny. This is new.

She’s just told him, as she usually does when he visits, about her days, and the harvests, and the births she’s assisted with, and her progress with calligraphy and the—limited—training with Kohaku, and never once have his eyes shown—this. 

“Have you and the priestess had a disagreement?” he asks eventually.

Kaede is unusually long-lived, she just said. She realises, awkwardly, that it sounded like a statement of ill-wish. Lord Sesshomaru is puzzled. He, too, is bathed in light, and perhaps her words came out wrong because she was too busy admiring how the sun caught in the silver strands of his hair. So, with renewed intent, she looks into his eyes, his beautiful, amber eyes, and she clarifies: “One should be so lucky to reach her age.”

He hums again, but the intensity of his gaze does not falter. “Indeed,” he says, the tone a question. 

“One should be so lucky to reach her age,” Rin says again. And then: “I should be so lucky to reach her age.”

And his eyes widen.

My little brother and I were discussing how we would like to see a moment between Rin and Kagome getting along and commenting each other how beautiful they look then in the background it shows Sesshomaru and Inuyasha fighting each other while growling and calling each other names. Rin and Kagome notice their husbands at each other's throats, they give them a confused sassy stare with their hands on their hips, like "You boys better break it up before we do it for you. " Sesshomaru and Inuyasha both become nervous then sits down like good boys being all innocent and cute. Sesshomaru with a blank stare looking at Rin while the end of his mokomoko is wagging back and forth. Inuyasha is looking at Kagome with eyes of innocence with his cute dog ears twitching. Their thoughts "See, we're good boys! Now love us... " Rin and Kagome fangirling and squealing over their husband's adorableness while cuddling them closely saying their such good dog husbands. ❤

I'm an absolute FOOL of an idiot for not mentioning this sooner as a Monsterfcker. I've gotten asked this before, but totally forgot to mention Furaffinity because of my dumb attention span, in relation to searching art of Sesshomaru without being slapped at least once with *cough* CP of something while doom-scrolling that most don't feel like looking at all.

Despite what we like, which ofc may seem weird to some, which is fine— the majority of the Furry or Monsterfucker community doesn't really tolerate anything with young minors or horrible age gaps. So, if you are looking for og stuff of him; I highly recommend the site as well as for posting art and even nsfw (read the guidelines). You're gonna see a lot of true form Sesshomaru 🐺 but there's a lot of his humanoid form as well there. Rarely with the said child, BUT it's entirely wholesome platonic familial, and as of present haven't found anything of the aforementioned. For now, THANKFULLY at least...

You can't post art of humans by themselves, BUT adult human x Monster/furry aka Sesshomaru in this case totally acceptable, as well adult Monster x Monster ofc (ex. SessToran, etc).

Kyaaaa yesterday's chapter has me crying tears of joy, Sesshomaru showing one of his puppies fatherly attention. Towa looks so stunned. Next should be Setsuna's turn. Gotta give both pups love.
