I'm an absolute FOOL of an idiot for not mentioning this sooner as a Monsterfcker. I've gotten asked this before, but totally forgot to mention Furaffinity because of my dumb attention span, in relation to searching art of Sesshomaru without being slapped at least once with *cough* CP of something while doom-scrolling that most don't feel like looking at all.
Despite what we like, which ofc may seem weird to some, which is fine— the majority of the Furry or Monsterfucker community doesn't really tolerate anything with young minors or horrible age gaps. So, if you are looking for og stuff of him; I highly recommend the site as well as for posting art and even nsfw (read the guidelines). You're gonna see a lot of true form Sesshomaru 🐺 but there's a lot of his humanoid form as well there. Rarely with the said child, BUT it's entirely wholesome platonic familial, and as of present haven't found anything of the aforementioned. For now, THANKFULLY at least...
You can't post art of humans by themselves, BUT adult human x Monster/furry aka Sesshomaru in this case totally acceptable, as well adult Monster x Monster ofc (ex. SessToran, etc).
°This also helpful with ships with Inuyasha, Koga, etc etc ✨

Well I hope that helps in looking for alternatives for enjoying the original character especially with the hell that twitter is now. Adieu!
#thank you for coming to my ted talk#reblog to stop a headache and save a life#in relation to og sesshomaru#dad sesshomaru positive#this is just to help some people#don't be a d¡ldo#monsterlover#anti sessrin

they turned Sango into a house wife. a stay at home mom. SANGO. and they made KOHAKU the head of the new slayer village. Sango doesn’t even go out on missions anymore. neither does miroku. as if he wouldn’t be there negotiating payment and housing for them all the time.
moroha was the only thing i really cared about. making a side character’s kids the new protagonists instead of the MAIN CHARACTER’S kids was stupid.
that’s like watching boruto but the main character is rock lee’s kid for no reason. that’s not why we’re here.
wtf was yashahime
#ngl the boruto anime would have actually been much better if chocho was the main character#cause borito and sarada are boring as fuck and their character designs are also boring#boruto hate#at least himawari is cute but no#it has to be about BORUTO#moroha doesn’t even get as much screen time as she should#and making inukag go do FUCK ALL at the borderland graveyard??#i mean sesshomaru is a stoic character ofc#but in the series it’s like his only emotion is vague anger at being put out by evil plans#only other thing i liked was towa’s opinions on gender/femininity#but this whole ‘and BOTH girls are the MAIN CHARACTERS by having almost IDENTICAL powers that work in OPPOSITE WAYS#ugh. they also changed the english VA for kagome to the worst voice matchup they could have possibly chosen#so i can’t even enjoy it for nostalgia purposes#the art too…i feel like it’s downgraded.#also having one kid be exactly like one parent and the other exactly like the other one is so lame#at least moroha is well written#she’s got her mom’s positivity and her dad’s mean streak#and when you see and hear her there’s no doubt in your mind who her parents are

Custom Toonami Block Week 185 Rundown
The Witch from Mercury: The attack on the plant is in full swing and the crazy Lagoon Company girls from Earth are ready to take Suletta on. Guel hears Suletta might be around and escapes his ship to find her, unfortunately his dad is now on the front lines and attacking all the enemy ships coming out of the hijacked one and they don’t have open comms so yeah Guel ends up unknowingly killing his dad in a fit of desperation to survive. It’s kinda really sad because even while he’s pleading for his life he still shouts that he’s his dad’s son to identify himself, like he’s just murdered the main thing he staked his entire identity on, Guel’s Chazz Princeton rich boy humbling arc is ROUGH. Everyone else is scrambling around the station and Nika sends the enemy a morse code to tell them to not blow them up, outing her ambiguous loyalties we’ve been kind of hinting at up until now. Meanwhile Miorine finds her dad and he gets fucking stabbed by debris and tells her to continue the family line because that’s what her mother did and she’s just like ‘fuck that shit’ and Darth Vader’s his dying ass to the nearest escape pod. While that’s happening Suletta gets to the Aerial and is immediately confronted with the rising stakes of the situation as her mom murders four people in front of her and tells her to go out and murder more. Like I feel like the friendly school duel thing is used as a smokescreen for how these kids are not ready for murder but at the same time they’re piloting giant mechs that seem to explode if you flick the right spot, I’m almost positive people have died in those duels even if the intent is to minimize that possibility. Still, Prospera uses a shonen determination speech to gaslight her impressionable daughter into feeling like murder is okay and she proceeds to go and make a giant fuckoff laser cannon to blast away the Earth girls without killing them ironically. The Discoung Lagoon Company has to run away when the Anti-Gundam squad shows up because their girls are still running on the old Kaio-Ken model of Gundams and can’t keep powering up forever so they’re kinda SoL. Still in the stinger Suletta finds Miorine and her dad and fucking squashes the dude trying to kill them and we get the iconic scene of Suletta covered in blood reaching out to Miorine with a smile. Again, like I get both sides her, Suletta’s simple enough to not really process the ramifications of what’s going on, like she knows murder is bad but her mom said it was okay and she just saved her favorite person ever so of course she’s happy. Meanwhile I’m sure Miorine understands a Gundam doesn’t have a lot of non-lethal options against a dude with a gun but seeing Suletta come out of it with no reaction to smushing a dude like an ant is rather frightening all the same, so this’ll make their relationship a little awkward. Apparently this was a place for a season break during the original run even though Crunchyroll lists it all as one season, honestly between cours and seasons anime’s confusing nowadays because you’ll have a cour like a year later and then a full season like three months later so who fucking knows, more war crimes and lesbians next time let’s fucking go.
Inuyasha The Final Act: We start out the episode with one more round of Inuyasha modern era shenanigans with him just doing dog shit around Kagome’s house and it’s really funny but also we’re about to get into some heavy shit so it’s probably necessary. Byakuya leads Sesshomaru away with a decoy Magatsuhi so the real Magatsuhi can attack the village and incarnate in Kohaku’s shard, essentially taking control of Kohaku and giving him the badass power of manipulating Kohaku’s kusarigama which is honestly really cool like is it bad that Magatsuhi is a lot cooler inside Kohaku than when he had his own body? Miroku tries to suck up Magatsuhi but he’s basically just absorbing the incredibly noxious ghost energy coming off of him since he’s using the shard as a perpetual energy device now, but absorbing part of the ghost of pure evil is enough to knock Miroku the fuck out and Kohaku’s bending kusarigama takes out Sango too. Magatsuhi says fuck it and decides to take the shard straight to Naraku, Kohaku and all. Inuyasha and Kagome come back and find Miroku’s basically half dead from poison AND his Wind Tunnel has started to expand to the extent that you can hear it even while it’s covered so he’s basically dying on two fronts here. Sango resolves to go after Kohaku to save Miroku while Inuyasha and Kagome follow suit. Sesshomaru takes out all one thousand of Bykauya’s demons with one strike which is just like the pinnacle of the weird numbers power scaling the show has had up until this point considering Sesshomaru’s just literally ten times more powerful than the Wind Scar now and Byakuya’s just had enough. Magatsuhi is coming to rendezvous with Naraku but Sango reaches out to Kohaku who’s being taunted by his shard’s darkness and a combination of her faith in him and the remnants of Kikyo’s help give Kohaku a moment of lucidity where he resolves to break his own body so Magatsuhi can’t meet up with Naraku before Inuyasha and co. can take the shard back from his corpse. His courage and faith in his friends and family amplifies the light still remaining in the shard and forces Magatsuhi out of the shard completely, ending with him hurtling towards certain death after expelling the source of all evil.
Castlevania: Alucard takes the kids down into the Belmont estate and tells them he’s going to teach them about everything he can so not only the warfare of his father but also the science of his mother survives. Seeing as how he’ll definitely outlive these two idk how useful it’ll be having them be the evangelists of science but gotta start somewhere I guess, just a trial run for Alucard’s School of Electricity and Vampire Killing. Isaac runs into an old lady Forgemaster who points him in the direction of the nearest sidequest so he can build up his army before fighting Carmilla and also coincidentally get revenge on the crazy magic anthill guy who killed all her friends and neighbors. I swear the size of Isaac’s horde seems to fluctuate from episode to episode, like last time when he was talking to Bug-Eyes he had like a full crowd and now they show him with like two dozen guys to emphasize his need to buff his numbers, maybe some of them are dying off en route idk. Trevor gets to flex his fighting muscles and beats up some of the monks scratching symbols into the town only for him to basically tell them nothing and them to go with their preexisting knowledge about what’s going on to figure shit out. So basically Trevor just beat some guys up and broke their legs to go ‘yeah all that stuff we already know but it was this guy in particular’. Also Germain finds that the priory has crucified a rainbow-eyed demon in the basement Evangelion-style and is worshipping this presumably multiverse-empowered god of destruction, so that’s fun.
Konosuba: Kazuma joins in the big battle against the Devil King’s army and immediately dies and is so embarrassed he basically has an Evangelion Elevator Scene staring contest with Eris before she gives him the quest that Kris was trying to give him two episodes ago. So he has to gather a body-swapping device and a monster summoner, both of which sound prime for Konosuba shenanigans. Kazuma revives and finds out everyone else has been infinitely more useful in battle than he has and Megumin has a God Usopp level following where she can’t let them know her real level of strength. Either way they come back to the castle and talk with Iris only to reveal she has the body swapping necklace by accident and OF COURSE Kazuma accidentally bodyswaps with Iris. I really like the performances here like they don’t trade VAs but both use such drastically different inflections it’s really easy to tell right away. Megumin agrees to take Kazuma!Iris out on an adventure while Iris!Kazuma stays back at the castle and gets up to some HILARIOUS shenanigans, like it’s basically a shorter and sweeter version of all the jokes shows like Tanya the Evil and that Old Man Villainess show use for ‘scumbag guy in the body of a little girl’ tropes and with Kazuma’s extra flavor they do a good job with him telling of Mitsurugi and getting into standard scumminess. Honestly Megumin should’ve known better and had someone stay behind to watch Kazuma but the results are so funny I’ll let it slide. Just before Kazuma gets to see Darkness and Claire’s titties he swaps back with Iris mid-punch as he’s taking a beating from Megumin’s trash-talking lessons, perfect timing. Honestly with as much as he did see I’d still call that a win even if he probably doesn’t think so, plus at least Iris didn’t get punched in his body.
Delicious in Dungeon: Falin gets up and sleepwalks to the dragon’s corpse, addressed by the Elven Mage as if she’s the dragon itself and commanding her to find the Elven King from the time Laios was stuck hopping around in paintings which the Mage remembers somehow. It’s kind of funny because the Elf addresses Falin as the dragon but the ghosts still seem fond of her as a human so it’s like a half and half thing. The rest of the party catches up to her and are attacked by the Mage who they assume to be the Ruler of the Dungeon. Marcille manages to fight back but you’re fighting the guy who basically controls the whole structure you’re in like lego blocks so they just get dropped into the trash compactor and almost squished until the ghosts save them by dropping them into the remnants of the Orc Village from a few episodes ago. Since Senshi has the panache skill from D&D and automatically has good relations with everyone they manage to avoid dying and heal up though they’ve lost Falin again. The rest of the episode is a little reflection on Chilchuck’s character about how he’s basically the Nami in a crew full of Luffys and it’s driving him insane how they keep barely getting out of things they should statistically die from. After a good amount of reflection and some advice from the orc princess he decides to tell everyone they’re pressing their luck and they need to go back before they push themselves too far so they can regroup and make a stronger push for Falin again. Laios begrudgingly agrees with the promise that the town will give them more support thanks to being so close to finding the dungeon’s ruler and having the full support of the Orc factions thanks to killing the dragon, so we’re basically back where we’ve started but we’ve learned a lot, it really is a Rougelike anime.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End: Frieren’s group is still struggling to catch a bird and is having a little meeting to plan their next step. Meanwhile Fern’s group’s somehow already got their bird and is plotting how not to fall into an ambush from one of the other groups. Basically this is like that part in the Chunin Exams where everyone in the Forest of Death already had their scrolls ready and the infighting in getting to the tower was starting to kick up. Eventually both conversations come down to water sources, since the testing barrier blocks off rainwater and cuts off rivers, the main lake setting is where everyone is holing up Hunger Games cornucopia-style so it’s the most dangerous place when trying to find or protect a bird. Fern’s group is attacked by the Grimmjow-looking motherfucker from the opening but given her teammates are fandom favorites I don’t think she has much to worry about. Meanwhile Frieren’s plan takes shape as they freeze the main lake and taint as many of the secondary water sources with some of the waterbender girl’s magic like a magical deer scare to keep birds away. With Frieren’s group being the only one that knows which water sources are untainted, they camp out and eventually nab a bird using Frieren’s greatest skill: patience. However the dude that’s been filling the audience in on the particulars of Frieren’s plan all along steps in to ambush them and take their bird, so between this and Fern’s fight looks like we’ve got a good old fashioned Chunin Exams fighting arc on our hands next time, whoo!
No Monogatari/Utena this week since I still haven't decided which of those I wanna watch next and I could definitely use a shorter block this week since I'm still recovering from con last week so that's it for now!

Why did Sesshomaru not revive Setsuna himself and instead handed the broken Tenseiga to Towa for her to revive her sister (and then just stayed there to watch her struggle to do it, even when Setsuna was on the brink of being lost forever)?
Towa has the ability to create energy blades, Sesshomaru does not. Sesshomaru had no ability to save Setsuna in the hour time span they had.
Towa on the other hand can create energy blades for broken swords. Plus, she is Sesshomaru’s heir so understandably she can wield the tenseiga.
For Sesshomaru’s not super active role in that. Sesshomaru was providing support for Towa, keeping her focused and stopping her from becoming distracted. I believe this was a moment he was attempting to train her. After she revives Setsuna, he grabs her and stops her from falling. He holds her for a moment before setting her gently next to her sister. He places his hands on each of their cheeks, a gesture we’ve seen from before when he was showing his version of affection.
Sesshomaru is a demon. He will always be a demon, his parenting style is that of a demon. He expects his girls to be strong and to be able to work independently. He’s not going to coddle them, he’s going to push them to their limit because there are people that are always going to be after them. He wants them to be strong so they can live, he loves his daughters, but expects them to be independent as well.
#Sesshomaru is a great dad and I refuse to hear otherwise#sessrin#sessrin positivity#sessrinners please interact#sessrin family#papa sesshomaru#i love them so much

I'm not an Inukag shipper but I personally don't really see InuKik as a relationship that would've worked out long term. Even without inuyasha meeting kagome or Naraku, there were trust issues at hand and kikyo wanted inuyasha to give up being a half demon, something that's very important to his identity. There's also the fact that Inuyasha destroyed the village, which was disproportionate even if Kikyo was manipulated into attacking him. Kikyo hurting him after her revival cements my opinion.
I think it's interesting that you don't ship inukag but still follow me! At least I think you do since you saw my other asks, lol. I hope you have a good time on my blog despite the overwhelming amount of inukag 😂
But yeah I just can't imagine a scenario where inu/kik would work either. Even if you change the way the shikon jewel works and you imagine a scenario where Inuyasha did become human and the jewel was purified, I think Inuyasha would deeply regret his decision and resent Kikyo for making him change himself. At some point Sesshomaru would show up looking for Tessaiga and Inuyasha would lose his eye permanently and learn that he can't use the sword that his dad made just for him because he decided to forsake his yokai blood. Also like you said, there are trust issues in their relationship. Inuyasha learned to trust Kagome because she cried for him and showed him that she genuinely cares about him, his life and his well-being, which Kikyo never did not even post-resurrection after she was back to "normal". That's one of my main issue about their relationship too, I do believe Inuyasha loved Kikyo but I don't believe he felt loved and cherished by her the way he does with Kagome. In general I think Kikyo loved the idea of being a normal woman and being loved by someone more than she loved Inuyasha himself. If she did love him we would have seen her take back the claim she made on his life and instead encourage him to live and be happy with Kagome, which she never did.
And if you remove both the shikon jewel and Naraku, I don't think Kikyo would have paid any attention to him. She outright said that the only reason she hadn't killed him is because she sees herself in him, so if she wasn't the guardian of the shikon jewel she would have nothing in common with him at all. I think it's a common misconception in this fandom that Kikyo's position as a miko is what makes her lonely, but it's not. She explicitly said she will be a normal woman if the jewel is purified. She dislikes having to fight demons who are constantly trying to take the jewel from her, she doesn't seem to dislike normal miko duty like helping people in need. Also being a miko doesn't stop Kaede from accepting yokai into her home, and it doesn't stop Kagome from marrying Inuyasha, so it's definitely not what stopped Kikyo from being with him.
You bring up an interesting point about Inuyasha attacking the village, it's funny how no one in the series ever brings that up, lol. You would think Kaede would be mad at him since it seems like she lost her eye in that event (in the manga at least, I know anime filler said something different). Or the older villagers who were there would remember. Anyway, even if you imagine Kikyo being resurrected properly and Inuyasha picking her over Kagome, I STILL think Inuyasha would regret his decision and would not be able to forget Kagome. But that's obviously completely up to interpretation and personal opinion. I don't think Inuyasha is as devoted to Kikyo as people make him out to be, I think he did what was necessary for someone he loved who was murdered and brought back to life, but if he truly loved her as much as the fandom says he does, he wouldn't be spending 99% of his time with Kagome while Kikyo is alone, sad and at risk of getting killed by her murderer again. And she did get killed by Naraku again... twice... after Inuyasha told her he wouldn't let that happen.
#ask#Anon#inukik-critical#also forgot to address the 'without meeting kagome' part#but my answer is already long enough lol#if somehow kikyo was resurrected and she unsealed inuyasha#i think it goes back to me feeling like kikyo doesn't really love HIM

Yashahime Episodes 2-4 reviews:
Episode 2 was dull for me, but it was the typical "beginning of a series slow" type of dull, so no hate to Yashahime for that. What I didn't like was the whole "you should behave more feminine" and "I know you want to be more feminine" thing with Towa. It really rubbed me the wrong way and gave serious "this was written by a man" vibes.
Look, I know I'm seeing this through a Western lens. Maybe this kind of thing is normal in Japan, but damn no one said that to Kagome or to Sango in the original. To say I hated that addition is an understatement.
Yes, Towa shouldn't be getting into fights. Yes, it's not a good thing for a half-demon in the modern age to be beating up gang members. Yes, it has a negative shadow on her family. I get that. But there's no reason why she should have to be more "feminine" or why her character should have a "desire to be more feminine". One of the good things about Yashahime are the three female mcs that (so far) are going against gender stereotypes in shounen. Don't take that away.
Now on to episode 3 (or at least I think this was part of episode 3) -- Sesshomaru the baby kidnapper and deadbeat dad.
I don't like it. I would have wanted him to do better. I believe that he grew as a character and as a person in the original series enough to not do something like that. But ...
Inu no Taisho was a shit himself. He was setting up these tests and stuff for his sons, he planned for Sesshomaru to learn a technique with the Tenseiga just for it to be given to Inuyasha later to have a "whole Tessaiga" or whatever bs that was. I'm not surprised that Sesshomaru himself would do similar stupid asshole quasi-demon-daimyo dad things.
I'm not excusing him. I'm pissed off at him for it because he should have done better. But as we know, it's not uncommon for children to not do better than their parents, sad as it is.
Moving on towards episode 4 -- Moroha is a gem. I love her. I loved seeing her teaching moves to the ojisans. I love her relationship with the Grandpa. I loved her buying all this shit and charging it to Sota's credit card.
And most of all, I loved this:
And this was hilarious in the Ne no Kubi fight:
But seriously? Ne no Kubi was causing such a hassle and it basically gets defeated by a kappa foot being thrown at its eye? I know it wasn't just the kappa foot and that probably it got weaker after Inuyasha and Company seemed to have mostly defeated it in the first episode, but really??
The episode was good in general, except CAN WE LET KIKYO STAY DEAD? I know it wasn't really her but CAN SHE GO AWAY?
Look, bear with me. She had been coming and going so many times in the original series to have finally fucking died for good in The Final Act and I don't want to see her again.
And also, can we all stop having to clean up after Inu no Taisho's mess? Sure, blame Sesshomaru for not accepting his position as the "New Great Dog Demon" or whatever and disrupting the balance, but I'm tired with Inu no Taisho essentially coming back to be a pain in the ass. There was that Ryuukotsusei, the Panther Demons, Setsuna no Takemaru, that other guy from The Final Act that lost part of his face to fucking Inu no Taisho ... now we've got Kirinmaru.
Well, you can tell that I don't like Inu no Taisho nor Kikyo by now 😅
Anyway, I haven't lost interest in watching, even though the image of Rin stuck in the damn tree made my stomach knot up because I know that she had two kids that were taken away from her at birth and that she still looks like a child.
I've finally gotten to the point of watching Yashahime and ...
time for reviews.
Now, I've seen a lot of negative reviews about the show (for good reason, tbh) but I'm going to give it a chance and write a short review on each episode.
I'm going into watching this being full aware of who the twins' mother is and not liking/approving of that and as someone who grew up with the original Inuyasha (and as a SessKag shipper).
But.
The first episode is promising. I'm expecting a downfall later on based on some reviews I've seen, but I'll enjoy it at this point. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth about Sango being reduced to an over-laboured mother of all of the breeder-kink monk's babies, but that was also a disappointment in the original ending to me and is, whether I like it or not, accurate for the time period the story is set in.
It was a breath of fresh air for me seeing that the three main charactes are all girls and that they aren't harbouring the typical caricature-like personality traits that most female characters across all media get reduced to. If they were written as three young boys of their age, their lines and actions in the script may not have been too different. So far, I like Yashahime for this, but I'm still preparing to be disappointed.
Ne no Kubi is a realistic problem to have developed after Inuyasha's original ending, so as a spin-off/sequel series, it makes sense and doesn't feel random or that it doesn't fit with how the original story concluded.
The first episode left me interested in watching more, so I give it a thumbs up (especially after I've been trying out a few animes to find a new one to watch and didn't even keep interest through the first episode with those).

Setowa for the shipcest asks! ^×^
(Any/all questions you'd like to answer <3)
♡ - The answer is 14 for both of them, but here's what happened: When they were reunited, Towa assumed her feelings were just how she was supposed to feel about her little sister. But eventually (after way longer than it should've taken her) she realized "Oh wait. I probably shouldn't be this fixated on Setsuna's body. And it's probably fine to be protective, but I shouldn't be so envious at the idea of her kissing someone else." Meanwhile, Setsuna started from a position of "this is a stranger" and fell for Towa early on. When she got her memories back, she was like "Okay, sister then. But also-"
♤ - Moroha, Riku, and Rin know. Kagome and Kohaku suspect, and have both chosen not to say anything. Inuyasha doesn't know what a healthy sibling relationship looks like and doesn't think to question it. Sesshomaru married Rin and therefore has no room to judge his children and also doesn't think to question it. Hisui is in denial.
◇ - It was a New Moon, and both Towa and Setsuna were full-human for the night. In addition to being Sesshomaru's Daughters, they had also made plenty of enemies of their own, and so it was decided they would be sequestered together for the night under the protection of Sesshomaru and the Demon Slayers (Moroha would've been there too, but she wanted to spend the night teasing her dad for being less demon than she was~). Thinking everyone would be too busy to bother coming into the room with them while they were supposed to be sleeping through this vulnerable time, Towa and Setsuna took the opportunity to make out. Of course, their mother Rin is not a warrior, and they were both half out of their kimonos when Rin came in to make sure they had enough blankets.
♧ - Well, Towa has the benefit of also having a boyfriend who isn't related to her, so she can just say she's taken whenever it comes up. Setsuna, meanwhile, claims she isn't interested in romance or marriage and then holds Towa's hand tightly until people stop asking.
☆ - One is forced to wonder if they would've become a couple if Towa didn't have all that big sister guilt from the beginning driving her to be a perfect sword of devotion. But! Towa is a deeply caring person who can't keep her nose out of other people's business and also would probably have fallen in love with Setsuna at first sight, so it would be very similar but without the excuse of sisterhood for Towa to hide behind when she's clearly a smitten girl in love.
¤ - I think Towa feels guilty about it. She's a moralist, and she grew up in a society where sibling incest (not to mention homosexuality) was frowned upon. More than that, she stakes a lot of her identity on being a good big sister, and dating your little sister is definitely not part of that. She would never wish she and Setsuna weren't sisters, but she sometimes wishes she didn't feel this way about her. Setsuna, on the other hand, is a pragmatist. She understands what the moral issues are with incest, and why they don't apply to their relationship (or at least, seem not to). She knows this relationship makes her and Towa both happier than they could ever be without it. So she doesn't feel guilty and she doesn't regret any of it. At least, not except the nights when she knows Towa is suffering from the guilt of it all.

did you see the post about how SessRin shippers are saying that Sota isn't Towa's real dad?
i have not.
biological family will always triumph for most people, even while they insist that they love the found family trope.
(eyes all the people who say that Koga and Ayame are Moroha's aunt and uncle while in the same breath reblogging literal fanart and manga panels that show them doing the legwork but ignoring that in favour of Kagome and Inuyasha because neither they nor the show knows how to come to terms with the idea of Moroha having a much more intimate relationship with Koga and Ayame and would likely refer to them first for the rest of her life if they truly had had a positive relationship, which doesn't look like they did, but that would nullify Koga being "UNCLE KOGA" wouldn't it? for fucks sake i'm losing my mind)
it sucks because Towa's and Sota's relationship is actually one of the strengths of the series. when Towa continued to refer to Sota as Papa after finding out about Sesshomaru I actually breathed a sigh of relief. because the bar is really that low.
anyway. Shut the fuck up about the state of Towa being Sota's daughter unless you yourself are adopted. Thanks. Sincerely, an adopted child.
(not trying to dismiss how complicated adopted is. It's hella all over the place and can be a messy, messy situation. I don't think I've ever had a conversation about it with another adopted child where I didn't completely understand where they were coming from even if I didn't personally feel it or agree because it's such a complex and messy topic.)

I am not sure how you feel about trashahime, i know trashaime is garbage, but i do have a small soft spot for Setsuna & Towa being Kagura's twins. A little one-shot with all four of em or just the three. Any age! I thin 4 year Towa and Setsuna are so precious, but I think it would be soo precious to see Kagura interact with the teenage twiins <3
Disclaimer: I have never seen the sequel so I am working with complete assumptions of Setsuna/Towa's personalities. I also have very little idea of the girls' backstories and everything I've heard regarding the general plot makes me feel...bad. So I don't know whether this is what you were looking for, but I hope you enjoy.
Kagura squinted into the sun. The heat always burned the top of her shoulders this high up in her favorite cherry tree, even on windy days. The branch beneath her body creaked and swayed, as her daughter scooted closer to the trunk.
"We're up kinda high, aren't we?" Towa glanced towards the ground, then up at the bold blue sky. "It's pretty, Mama."
"Mmhm. Now tell me what's wrong."
"Huh?" The teen shook her head rapidly. "Nothing's wrong, what could be wrong - did, uh, Setsuna say something was wrong?"
Kagura frowned. Despite the distance that time had drawn between them, all three of her daughters were easy enough to read. Towa most of all; despite all her other talents, the young girl had seemingly never mastered the art of discretion.
(Sesshomaru blamed it on her, whereas Kagura blamed it on Jaken.)
Before she could push further, Towa gave a tragic sigh. Her shoulders slumped, and she wrapped one arm around the tree-trunk forlornly. "Never mind. Of course Setsuna would never do that - talk about her feelings."
Pulling a tightly-closed cherry bud from the branch above, Kagura pretended to inspect it so as to keep her tone casual. "Ah. You're worried about your sister."
Out of the corner of her eye, Towa's face screwed up into its usual ball of tension.
"Setsuna complains often," Kagura continued, spinning the flower between her thumb and forefinger, "but not about anything deep in her heart. She's like your father, in that way."
Which was why the two of them spent so much time together these days - Sesshomaru watching the younger twin train, chin rising slightly every time Setsuna perfected a form; Setsuna listing off the interesting pieces of news from Kohaku and Rin's demon-hunting trips while her father listened silently; the way Sesshomaru would think of a task requesting her assistance, after a particularly nasty spat with her twin sister.
Neither of them knew how it appeared that they were playing favorites. Kagura was positive of that - just as she knew, without being told, that Towa being so popular and friendly with practically everyone they knew meant nothing when the one person whose attention she wanted the most, pushed her away.
"At least Dad acts like he cares about me," Towa said; the frustration hidden within her tone felt as searing to Kagura as the sun did. "It's like she hates being around me, sometimes. Even when I'm trying to be nice, and ask her if she's okay. I just wish things could be like they used to, when we were little..."
Flicking the flower bud away, Kagura reached over to pull her daughter further out onto the branch, away from the tree trunk. "Listen. A lot of fucked up stuff happened to the family - you dealt with it one way, and your sister's dealing with it another way. But if you keep clinging harder onto someone who is pushing you away, you'll just get hurt. It's like...you know how old, crusty noodles get in a pot that's been left out for a few days?"
"Mama," Towa protested, shielding her eyes from the sun with one hand. "Gross."
"The noodles were great at dinner-time. But if you don't clean the pot for fresh noodles, then it just becomes disgusting. And then Jaken yells at you and asks if you were raised in a pit and so you have to hit him with something solid and then your husband gets cross with you even though he's never cooked something for himself ever -"
"Wait!" Towa tipped her head sideways. One hand worried the tie on her uniform. "Am I the noodles? Or is it Setsuna?"
Kagura linked an arm around her shoulders. "The noodles are the relationship you used to have with your sister. It was tasty at the time, but it's no good anymore. Ruining the pot. You have to clean it out, and make a fresh meal. Understand?"
"I want to, Mama, I do - but she won't even listen to me!"
"Look." The branch beneath them shuddered; Kagura flexed her wrist, and a belt of wind swept around them to keep them steady. "Your dad doesn't like for me to talk about it, but when we first met, he was a lot more of an asshole."
"You know, you actually talk about it a lot."
"Especially to your Uncle. I bet your cousin could tell you so many stories she's got secondhand - but the point is, we couldn't have had the relationship we have now, with the people we were and the situation we were in. A lot of things had to change between us." She didn't like to talk about what all those things were in particular - death, rebirth, half a dozen dramatic twists and turns, and the unexpected surprise that had been two cute little babies with the weirdest haircuts. "And for an example more relatable to you and Setsuna - our relationship with your older sister was very different back then, too. If we'd just kept trying to make do with crusty noodles, we wouldn't all be as happy as we are."
"Huh." The young girl leaned into the combination of the wind and her mother's embrace. "So...what do I do about it, then?"
Kagura hummed under her breath for a long moment. "Well...sometimes, you can give her space. I'll hang out with you in the trees whenever you're lonely. And the rest of the time, like the next day you see her and your dad sneaking out to attack something, you should invite yourself along." Tossing her head back proudly, she confessed, "I made a lot of progress doing that. 'S probably the only reason you two were ever born."
"Ew," Towa laughed and shook her head. Kagura smiled, already seeing less tension in her daughter's body language.
"The most important thing," she said, in a quieter tone, "is that you don't become so focused on trying to connect with one person. Setsuna isn't the reason you're not alone, okay? You have your dad, and Jaken, and big sister Rin, and me."
"Okay." Towa's head hit her shoulder gently. "You know, I don't get why Jaken always says that we shouldn't ask you for advice. You can be pretty cool, Mama."
Kagura smirked. "If cool is what you're looking for, let me show you how to get down from here super fast..."

THIS EPISODE MADE ME GO HMMMMMMM
I am still confusion, but somehow, I feel a bit more at ease with this episode that just came out. Here are some thoughts on the bunch of information that was presented to us today:
THE TREE OF AGES + SESSHOMARU AND FLOATING RIN
After watching the episode twice in a row I must say that the Tree of Ages (ahem-TREEKYO-cough) made me get my detective hat out of the closet yet again.
From what I understood, Sesshomaru (The yeet king) renounced his position as a ruler. My initial theory is that he did this because he chose to have hanyou kids or be with Rin. (Or he just was like ‘nah bro, don’t feel like it’ I dunno-) What is interesting though is that between this decision and the birth of the twins, something happened to RIN which made her be in this DBZ-floating-in-a-recovery-capsule situation where her life is hanging by a thread. Sesshomaru appears to be hanging out inside this funky tree dimension at the end of the episode which means one of two things: Either he can come and go as he pleases and just randomly visits Rin, or he chose to be locked up inside this tree with her and has not come out since. Which brings me to this:
KIRINMARU AND THE BUTTERFLY DREAM SNATCHER
Because Sesshomaru chose his own path, KIRINMARU went all ‘Its free real-state fam’ and took possession over Japan, he probably knew or heard about the Inu-gang and their powers and used a pawn like the Butterfly to separate the gang just so they can’t get in the way of his conquering ways. May that be erasing the memories of one another or doing something to them so they don’t team up against him. Probably KIRINMARU is involved somehow with Rin being sealed or being asleep, so that way he could get Sesshomaru out of the way. Sesshomaru probably knew this and before sealing himself and Rin away out of existence, he probably took the girls, hid them in the forest and placed the Rainbow Pearls inside their eyes so they could possibly had a chance before he disappeared.
Now, the way the tree of ages (TREEKYO) explained that the twins had to defeat Krinimaru by defeating Sesshomaru, I don’t think the tree meant it in a ‘LOL kill your own Dad or whatever’ context. I think what the tree thinks is that by Sesshomaru neglecting his responsibilities and choosing to be in this tree dimension was the wrong desicion or path. Probably what it meant by ‘defeating Sesshomaru’ was that it wants that the twins push Sesshomaru into the right path.
Ok, that out of the way, lets talk about my feral-credit-card-fraud-stealing-the-show child:
MOROHA THE BEST GIRL
The only thing I want to mention is that Moroha probably went along with the Higurashi family when everybody stated that she was their lost granddaughter, it’s not that she took advantage of them (well only Souta was bamboozled lol) she probably knows who her parents are because of Myoga but was likely separated from them due to KIRINMARU and the Butterfly as well. I think she didn’t have the heart to tell her Grandmother and Great-grandfather that she hasn’t seen her mom since ever or doesn’t even know her parents, because she would worry them and because she is CONSIDERATE as f*ck.
I still think we will get to know her past later on, and we will get more glimpses of our favorite Inu-gang soon. My dudes, we are on episode 4. There is still along way to go. Also it appears that Miroku and Myoga will appear on the nexts episode so wuhuuuu.
I did like the episode pacing better than the others, how they gave us a little glimpse into Sestuna’s and Moroha’s personalities and their growing fondness for each other, that was kawaii as f*ck. The episode was really funny in some parts and very heart arming in others. I am looking forward to the next episode without the crippling anxiety that I had the whole week, that’s for sure.
PS- Both Setsuna playing the violin like a badass prodigy, and seeing Moroha with golden eyes in the preview of the next episode GAVE ME LIFE Y’ALL.

Can I just say that I find it halarious that YH only ever trends and gets popular whenever it focuses on INUYASHA and his family?
Seriously, last week there was so much noise about the Inuyasha/Moroha reunion, Inu being Best Dad, and just general InuKag family love EVERYWHERE. And that episode focused on and was about InuKag/Moroha reuniting again.
Now we're on the next episode, where the focus is mainly back on the wonderbread twins and [REDACTED], and barely anybody has talked about it.
I've seen a few people complain about it and a few talk a little about the few small inukagmor glimpses we got, but that's honestly nothing new.
I haven't seen it trend at all, not even on Twitter, and you would think that would be the place for it to trend.
I just find it so fucking halarious and satisfying that barely anyone makes noise when its about the twins, but as soon as Moroha and her parents are the focus, YH blows up.
Its so funny because certain people always like to point out how Moroha isn't popular and that "nobody cares about InuKag anymore" and I'm just over here looking at the reasons why YH only ever gets talked about in a more positive way and I'm like "hmmm...you sure about that?"
It really would've just been in Sunrise's best interest to make YH about Moroha and InuKag. That's clearly where their money's at!!! Or at least make the twins ACTUAL likable characters like Moroha.
YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES OMG ANON I THOUGHT THE SAME THING!!! like legit everybody i know was so disappointed and upset that for some fucking asinine reason YH was about the wonder bread twins and their disgusting father and his child bride instead of THE OG MAIN CHARACTER'S FUCKING DAUGHTER. like?? it makes no goddamn sense. why??? i never really liked sesshomaru to begin with so that just made me disinterested right off the bat. the ONLY reason i even get the show an iota of thought was for moroha and the HOPE that inukag would be a happy family with her.
but alas, sunrise fucked up and decided to fuck moro over by making her the comic relief and yeet inukag into the fucking abyss because sure why not it's not like they haven't ALREADY gone through hell to get where they are today, let's make them suffer even MORE by separating them from their only daughter for 14 years.
but anyway. i agree anon its fucking hilarious that inukagmor content is the only time trashahime trends AS IT SHOULD BE. sinners can go fuck off and let us inukag fans have this ;ajfd;klajf.

I can’t believe they had my girl kagome say that sesshomaru “must have had his reasons” for locking them up for 14 years. I knew it was going to happen because again this is a sunrise fanfic where sesshomaru is the best character and can’t do no wrong but damn they really butchered kagome character. OG Kagome didn’t even hesitate to attack sesshomaru when he was hurting inuyasha. So for her to say that she forgive him for taking away her chances of being a mother, for taking away inuyasha chances of being a father is so out character and it obvious sunrise did this to validate both their ship and sesshomaru. It’s sucks because even though I’m not watching this shit sequel you can see how much inuyasha and kagome love moroha. And with sesshomaru he so indifferent to his own kids. Like he could have raised them in the first four years of their life but decided to keep them in a barrier so they can fend for themselves. Sunrise is trying so hard to paint sesshomaru and his family in a positive light but backfiring on them.
Ah yes, that made me so so angry! OG Kagome was the one who stood up to Sesshomaru and even Inuyasha thought it was a death wish. She didn't hesitate to shoot an arrow towards Sesshomaru even when she knew how dangerous it was. But seeing her bowing down to Sesshomaru's actions to keep them sealed for 14 years, depraving them of parenthood, depraving Moroha of having a loving family and making her feel all alone - all of this because "I am sure he must have had his reasons"?? Really girl?
I am glad you are not watching the sequel, you are saved from their OOCness. I mean I was prepared for OOC InuKag but it's another thing when you watch it.
I am sure Sesshomaru didn't even raise his kids for 4 years. He must have made someone else do it.
Whatever Sunrise is trying to paint, they did manage to make Sesshomaru a deadbeat dad. InuKags were sealed, but he wasn't.

Mild episode 3 spoilers
Okay, so, I was fully ready to accept that Sesshomaru just ditched his kids in the woods somewhere and never bothered with them, but contrary to what everyone else is saying, this episode actually makes me think he didn’t do that
I think he did leave them in the woods by themselves, but as far as we could tell from the flashbacks, the woods were relatively safe. They never mentioned anything about being attacked by demons (or humans) there, despite the fact that half-demons generally have a large target on their backs from both sides. Sesshomaru was probably deliberate in selecting a place for them to hang out while he was gone, and the fact that a forest fire and not an attack was what separated them makes me think Sesshomaru might’ve found a way to make it impossible to attack them there, maybe? Like, not only are they half-demons, but they’re Sesshomaru’s children as well. I doubt there wouldn’t be demons out there wanting to attack or use them against him, hence, safe forest of some kind.
What’s more, Towa not remembering much about him isn’t exactly out of the realm of possibility, even if she had met him? She was 4 at the time they were separated, and her mind was fixed on Setsuna at the time. Even if I don’t think Sesshomaru fully ditched them, I doubt he would’ve spent all his time with them, either, especially if my theory about him finding a safe forest for them to run around in ends up holding water. So since Towa spent more time with Setsuna and her separation from her was a source of trauma for her (because let’s face it, people are more likely to remember negative things than neutral or positive things, so if Setsuna is tied up in sad memories of separation, then it’s more likely Towa would remember her), while Sesshomaru probably only has maybe lukewarm memories associated with him (even if he was there I doubted he was warm and gushy with them ^^”), it would make sense that she remembers Setsuna but not Sesshomaru given how young she was.
Aaaand the detail that really made me believe he’s wasn’t completely absent is the flashback with Setsuna going to Kaede. She has a mokomoko, which she didn’t have as a small child and Towa doesn’t have, and the way she spoke to Kaede about her “trial” makes me think it was something Sesshomaru prompted her to do. He could have given her the mokomoko before sending her off, which means she was probably in his care before going to Kaede.
I also think Kaede is misunderstanding Sesshomaru’s intentions here, and just the way these specific demons operate in general. Actually, her second assumption, that Setsuna may have just killed Towa in her ignorance because half-demons, is something that the viewer knows to be false. This establishes that Kaede’s speculations aren’t to be relied on (Kohaku even adds that he has trouble understanding Sesshomaru even after spending time with him, so another wink at the viewer not to take Kaede’s words at face value), and Sesshomaru’s “trial” for Setsuna wasn’t a trial of strength at all. The “trial” Sesshomaru’s father left for him was one of learning to accept and have compassion for humans, and I think Sesshomaru may have wanted something similar for his daughter. He sent her to Kaede so she could learn of humans and grow acclimated to them, a trial of “courage and cowardice” simply referring to the fact that humans have both in abundance (maybe, that’s more a speculation). And, let’s face it, I doubt Sesshomaru would have sent Setsuna to Kaede instead of making her fight some demon if he wanted to give her some sort of strength test? It just doesn’t make sense, since he trusted Kaede enough to leave Rin with her in the past, he views Kaede as someone safe. Hence, Sesshomaru was not attempting to give Setsuna a test of strength.
Basically: this is just me crying about my half-decent dad Sesshomaru dreams

Here is a list of reasons why Rin is amazing, purely based on her giving birth:
1. She was pregnant with half-demon children: I imagine human pregnancy with half-demons is rather difficult. Her human body probably struggled with being pregnant a half demon, she probably slept a ton, eat a ton and was sick often.
2. She wasn’t pregnant with one half-demon but TWINS: This likely led to her pregnancy being even worse. I can’t imagine what the baby kicks were like for her little body. Also, the likelihood of her being fairly small is high due to her not having appropriate nutrition at a young age. She was a tiny lady who had twins, ouchy. Also, half-demons in general seem fairly rare. Half-demon TWINS must be ultra rare.
3. Speaking of ouchy. This woman had twins without ANY medicine, everything was natural (People in modern times do this too, I applaud you as well).
4. I can’t imagine the amount of hovering that was going on: Sesshomaru would watch every little movement she made to make sure she wasn’t uncomfortable. He was probably very sweet to her, and she didn’t mind it much. JAKEN ON THE OTHER HAND, was likely a nuisance with her. Every move she made he reminded her she was carrying Lord Sesshomaru’s children and she needed to be mindful of that. *Sesshomaru smacks him*

Hi! just curious,, but what did Kappei say that you don’t agree with?
lmao! I didn't expect to get this many messages about this.
Basically he said positive things about a certain ship I won't name. How it's ok for a young girl to get pregnant from from their adult guardian in a certain spinoff "because it was common in the feudal era". (if you're reading this and you like the ship please don't message me about this, I won't respond lol)
Less importantly he downplayed Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship in the OG series, one time he said they were in "pre-love" and I thought that was weird. He also said he was disappointed that Inukag's kid in Yashahime wasn't a boy, and I could not disagree more because Inuyasha being a girl dad is just so right, lol. I think there was something else too but I forgot. I know Satsuki Yukino defended Sesshomaru's actions in Yashahime and I thought that was a bad take too, but I can't remember if Kappei agreed with her or not.

Inukag Royalty AU
“I see that,” the King chuckled, gathering the child into his arms. He looked at Kagome. “And who have you brought Rin?”
While Rin was all happy smiles, Kagome immediately went on edge. Of all the people to see first, the King himself! She was not prepared whatsoever to meet the Inutaisho, but she bit down and hid her rising anxiety, pulling on all those years of putting on a false expression to get through important meetings. All she had to do was get through this encounter. Bring the girl home safely, go through some pleasantries, and be on her way.
“She found me in the market when I got lost. Can we keep her papa?”
Kagome’s heart stopped. ‘Wait what?!’ Did Rin just say what she thought she’d said?!
Again, the male laughed. “Well, we’ll have to see.”
“Papa, she can be my new attendant. Please! She’s so much nicer than the other one.”
“Oh?” The man turned back to Kagome. “Thank you for assisting my granddaughter, miss?”
Thinking quickly. “Kagome Tanaka,” she bowed. “And the pleasure was mine. The Princess was a joy to talk to.”
“Miss Tanaka, are you from around here?”
“I’m from a small village on the outskirts of the kingdom.”
“Her mom and dad are dead like mine, so she needs a new job.” Rin chimed in.
“Is that true?” He questioned.
“Yes. It’s why I came to the city thinking I’d have a better chance to find one. I actually just arrived this morning when I came across the Princess.”
“I see. Then tell me do you have any qualifications to be a Lady in Waiting?”
“I believe so your majesty. My mother schooled me in all the main subjects. Language, arts, history, literature, and such, so I’d hoped to find a tutoring position with a noble family here.”
“How interesting.” The King put Rin down. “For such a coincidence.”
Startled, Kagome bowed low again. “I swear it was never intended your majesty.” She didn’t want the king to think she’d targeted Rin for a nefarious reason. “My only intentions were to make sure she got home safely.”
He waved his hand with a chuckle. “I believe you. Our Rin here is very determined and she must have taken a genuine liking to you. But the decision is up to her father, my son to make.” The King then turned to his granddaughter. “Why don’t I wait here with miss Tanaka, and you go and fetch your father?”
“Okay!” Rin skipped merrily away on her mission. “I’ll be back quick!”
“While we wait, tell me more about yourself miss Tanaka. For starters, it is unusual for a commoner to be educated.”
“Oh… as a young girl my mother was a nanny for a noble house and as her ward was tutored, she herself learned things. She told me she loved learning so much that she took every opportunity she could to read and spent her off times in that family’s library. After marriage and having me, she took it upon herself to make sure I was educated because she wanted me to have a better life.”
“She sounds like a good mother.”
“I miss her dearly and only hope that one day I’ll be as good a mother as she was.”
“Your instincts have already shown through when you saw a lost child and decided to help her.”
Kagome blushed. “Thank you, your majesty for your kind words.”
They chatted for only a couple more minutes by the time Rin came back holding the hand of a tall, very statuesque male. Her father looked a lot like the King except his hair was free flowing and he had a crescent moon on his forehead. Another glaring difference was in demeanor. While the King was very pleasant from the get-go, Rin’s father wore an irritated expression. The child had mentioned that he scared people, and now Kagome could see why.
“That’s her, papa!” Rin pointed at Kagome. “She’s the one I want to be my attendant.”
“Miss Tanaka,” the King gestured, “this is my son Prince Sesshomaru.”
Kagome bowed to the Prince. “It’s nice to meet you, your highness.”
The Prince looked down, fixing Kagome in a stare as he spoke. “My daughter tells me you found her lost in the market?”
“Yes, your royal highness.”
“I’ve spoken with Miss Tanaka, and she appears to have all of the qualifications needed for the position.” The King tells his son. “I would approve, but the decision is yours.”
“Please, daddy!” Rin pulled on her father’s hand. “She’s really, really nice! I really like her!”
The Prince barely showed any reaction to his child’s whims, so it was hard to discern what he was thinking. Kagome just continued to stand there silently and demure as possible while he stared straight at her. It was nerve wracking!
Finally, the man spoke. “Very well. The royal steward will prepare a room for you.” He then gave a slight nod to his father and left the room leaving his child practically bouncing with excitement.
The moment Sesshomaru turned his back, Kagome let out the breath she didn’t know she’d been holding in. His intensity was a force all its own and she had no idea how Rin could be so mellow to it. Yet the child was completely oblivious and seemed to have the man wrapped around her fingers. He didn’t even question anything.
The king chuckled. “Rin, why don’t you show Ms. Tanaka around while things are taken care of.”
“Okay papa!” Rin grabbed Kagome’s hand and started pulling her away. “I’ll show you all the cool parts in the palace! Then we can hang out in my room.”
“It was nice to meet you, your majesty.” Kagome tried and failed to bow properly while being yanked away to the chuckling amusement of the King.
They spent much of the afternoon walking around the palace, inside and out with Rin playing the excitable tour guide introducing Kagome to everyone. It was a typical sized palace from what she could see, though the styling is what differed from her own. Several private rooms and guest rooms, administrative type rooms, entertaining rooms, etc. But the one she knew instantly she’d be spending a considerable time in would be the library. Oh, the texts that room held were simply amazing! So many ancient documents dating back hundreds or perhaps thousands of years! It’ll be wonderful to take a book and read it in the lovely garden on a nice sunny day.
As the afternoon sun dipped closer to the horizon, the royal steward found the pair in Rin’s room chatting quietly about a storybook they’d found in the library. Myouga was the older man’s name and he explained to Kagome her duties under the official role of the Lady in Waiting to the Princess. She was the child’s tutor in all areas of education and would accompany the girl any time she left the castle grounds or as needed by the Princess. All of her food, shelter, and personal needs including attire would be furnished by the kingdom along with a small stipend. The same bedchamber maids that attended to Princess Rin’s laundry and cleaning would also take care of hers.
“The former attendants room has been prepared for you Miss. Tanaka. It is the next room over. Your clothes for dinner has already been laid out on your vanity by the bedchamber maid. I trust we chose the correct size for you. Tomorrow, I shall have one of the royal guards take you to the royal seamstress to set you up properly.”
“Thank you, Mr. Myouga. I understand. I just have one question. Before meeting Rin in the marketplace, I’d boarded my horse and meager belongings at the Umagoya. I’d like to retrieve them. My horse is very precious to me.”
“Certainly. See the palace stable hand and he’ll accompany you to retrieve your horse to take it back to the stables.”
Once the man left them alone, they followed his instructions of taking the stable hand into town with them to hand off the horse. It would have been nice if she could spend more time with the stead to get him adjusted, but they needed to get ready for dinner. So, Kagome promised Rin they’d visit Buyo in the stables the next day. When they arrived back at their rooms, two bedchamber maids were waiting, one for each other them.
Kagome patted the hand she held of Rin’s. “I’ll fetch you once I’ve changed, okay?”
“Yup!” Rin hugged Kagome before skipping towards her room.
The white dress with red, orange, and pink accents presented to Kagome was a bit more extravagant than she’d expected to be given to a simple attendant. It was elegant and form fitting from the bust down to the floor, with a slit running down the side of the skirt from mid-thigh to allow for easier movement. The top half was full sleeved, mid-collared, with knotted button closures running down the front until it reached mid-chest. She’d noticed this outfit resembled the same style worn by other nobles and royals in the palace, but not the commoners who wore much simpler outfits. And while not mentioned yet, the colors were also a theme associated with the royal family. It was very different from what people wore back home in her kingdom, but the style was beautiful to Kagome. Aside from the dress, the bedchamber also re-did her hair, adding accessories befitting the dress as well as makeup. Kagome was glad to see it was done with a natural tone and not too gaudy. She never did like being made up to look like a doll. It was a bit odd to her that she’d be dining with the royal family, but again she assumed it was because of Rin’s age and excitable nature. The child was young and having her attendant present necessary so the adults could go about their business. It was nice though, that they included the child. Kagome chuckled inwardly as she thought about the two royal members she’d met so far. The Prince did not seem to even care about a child being around yet must have a heart to have adopted Rin in the first place.
The bedchamber provided information on other dynamics of the royal household so that she wouldn’t ask the wrong questions. According to the woman, the Inutaisho had two queens. The primary Queen was Prince Sesshomaru’s mother through an arranged marriage. It was a loveless marriage, so once she’d fulfilled her obligation of providing a son, she was allowed to live away in her own royal villa in the countryside. It was a few years later when the Inutaisho met a human Princess in another kingdom, fell in love, and took her as a second Queen. She too bore a son, half yokai, half human named Prince Inuyasha. Prince Sesshomaru was married but he and Princess Kagura had yet to produce an offspring of their own. Rin, again according to the woman was an orphaned daughter of a highly respected human general in the army who despite his ornery disposition really gravitated to the Prince. That affection grew on the Prince until he’d decided to simply adopt the child as his own. It was a really nice story and showed maybe first impressions are not always accurate.
“Good evening Ms. Tanaka,” Inutaisho welcomed Kagome as she sat beside Rin at the large dining table. “I trust your accommodations are amenable?”
“Very much so, your majesty. Thank you very much. Your palace is very beautiful.”
The king chuckled. “Is there any room in the palace you liked the most?”
“The library,” Kagome responded. “All the old texts are quite amazing to see gathered in one place.”
“Ah yes.” He smiled. “There is much history held in that room.”
Prince Sesshomaru and his wife Princess Kagura arrived shortly, and Rin introduced Kagome to her mother. Kagura was just as statuesque as her husband, a poised beauty befitting a future Queen. Servants puttered about setting out appetizers before the first course coming in a few minutes. So, in the meantime, Kagome and Kagura chatted about Rin’s schedule. The woman was happy to see her adopted daughter so happy because the child never got along with the last attendant, regardless of how highly recommended the woman had been.
“Ah!” The King suddenly stood up. “There’s my Queen.”
Kagome stopped talking to look at who the man was talking about and saw another gorgeous woman walking towards him. The Queen was definitely human, with long raven hair pinned back away from her face, and flowing dress of the royal color schemes. They were adorable to Kagome, how the Inutaisho greeted her and helped her into her chair. Royals were often assumed to be haughty, proud, and snobbish but it could be quite the contrary as evident in the Inutaisho’s caring nature. Kagome was certain that, if necessary, the man could be a very imposing figure indeed, but with loved ones no different than any other, human or yokai.
The King introduced Kagome to his wife. “This is Queen Izayoi.”
Kagome stood up and bowed. “I’m pleased to meet you, your majesty.”
“I’m pleased to meet you too, Ms. Tanaka, I’ve heard a lot about you from my husband. Thank you for taking care of my granddaughter.”
“You’re too kind,” Kagome bowed again.
“I’m certain you— Oh,” the Queen cut short and focused he’d gaze past Kagome. “You made it, my son.”
‘Son?’ Kagome turned to see who the Queen was talking about. ‘Oh… wow…’
“Inuyasha, come meet your niece’s new Lady in Waiting, Ms. Tanaka.”
