HAP FRI TAS💜💜 how about a prompt for Solas & Lace Harding, perhaps? ‘ it is dangerous to travel the northern road with a troubled heart. ’
thank you so much!!!! this is like the second time i’ve ever written harding and the first time w/ solas. for @dadrunkwriting
The last time he’d laid eyes on these mountains they were young, their peaks jagged teeth with points that tore the sky open. Time has worn their edges, rounded corners so the clouds merely part around them. He tries to find friendly faces in the peaks that encircle them, but is met, instead, with strangers wearing strange names: Korth and Neto and Gorm. He had promised the Herald Skyhold, but they would not offer him the way there.
“You look a little lost.”
He starts at the accusation, eyes tearing from the horizon to fall upon Harding. The scout’s cheeks are pink with the cold, teeth chattering over the wind. The bulk of her face is framed by a dyed woolen hat and scarf, but he can hear the smile that lies beneath them. “Seems like you might need a scout.”
“I would not ask you to brave a night like this,” Solas answers.
Harding snorts, then falters. “Sister Nightingale said the same thing.”
They are nearly strangers, but he can almost hear the arithmetic as she’s doing it in her head. If she had done her job, who might have been spared their ends? What might it have cost her? A ruthless equation with no answer, at least none they can ever know.
“I am trying to make sense of these mountains,” he says, throwing out his own confusion as bait to distract her. A foolish measure, for guilt is persistent, and will eat away at a wandering mind as surely as time wears the mountains’ faces. It is for his benefit, he thinks, not hers. “The way is clearer in the Fade. Dreams make gods of mountains. Awake, I admit, the differences are slighter—more difficult to discern.”
He sees her nose wrinkle at the bridge, looking out towards the spot he had been staring a moment ago with keen eyes. “Any idea which way?”
Solas looks up. The skies have drawn close to the earth, but through a faint patch of cloud he glimpses the sky. The heavens, at least, still point the way, though they, too, are changed. New faces shine brighter than the old, and some have faded entirely, but they chart the path to Skyhold in a language he still speaks.
“North,” he says. “And west. In the spring the first star to wake in the evening was the tip of the aravel’s sails.”
“Is that what you call the Voyager?” she asks. When he nods, she casts her eyes out again. “Our best bet might be… that way.” She points between two peaks. No sooner than he follows does she withdraw, burying both hands in her armpits with a shiver. “Between the Whitestair and Tenedor’s Peak.”
More names for mountains he would know as another. As he stares, he thinks he recognises them. The slopes curve gently, inviting the eye to imagine the shape of someone lounging across the hills. The prince, tei’len, they’d called him once. The rebels, in all their eagerness to rename the world around them, kept its name, for they liked the crass poetry of grinding a noble beneath their heels.
“Thank you,” he says, nodding gratefully towards her. “I will dread the morning less, now that I know the way.”

I don't think we've talked enough about how what Dagna's reaction will be to Whatever is going on with Harding
I just think it'll end in either a magical breakthrough that reshapes the world, Dagna's immediate breakdown, or a terrible, bloody crimescene. The last two could be out of her own personal jealousy (relatable) or in the vein of a scientist going insane. Which, truly, good for both of them. Give women pathos and/or homoerotic drama. Especially women in magical STEM.

Some of the secrets are necessary, don't get me wrong. It's just… Every time you're "more than just a person" to someone, you're also less than a person to them.
Six Characters Fanart Challenge: 6/12, Scout Lace Harding from Dragon Age.
Aka: the cinnamon roll, too sweet for this world, too pure. Bioware please make the dwarves romanticeable, thank you!
I tried to colour the lineart at this turn, what do you think? 🤔

I think I'm actually onboard with DA: The Veilguard's change in art direction compared to the other games. I am so deeply over the attempts at hyper realistic see every pore and hair follicle styles that bloat the file size by 200% leaving less room for actually interesting game mechanics and details and in the case of most fantasy games make the armour and magic effects look just that tiny bit stupider because the level of fantasy doesn't mesh with the realism. And also if this art style lowers the chances of my character's lip gloss being visible from space I will damn well take it.
Plus the lighting and the colours? Showing contrast between light and dark while still letting me be able to see what was going on? Fantastic.
Literally my only note is why does the Qunari dragon slayer who clearly goes for the brutal and direct melee approach have supermodel proportions? Like where are her muscles? Even Harding, light of my life, looks a little too Made Up and slight and she's a dwarven scout. I'm lowkey convinced all the women have the same model just set to different heights. Idk. Taash's model is probably pretty final but maybe Harding will be allowed to look a bit more rugged in game compared to the cinematic trailer.

Inky and Solas Reunion - DATV Fancomic
Inky and Solas Reunion . 2024
Dunno what's will happen in DATV yet, but this is how I hope the reunion of Inky and Solas will be xD Nothing really changed after 9 years, 'An is still not over his betrayal, and Solas is still an ass person.
He can easily block her punches, but yeah, he thinks he deserves it (and he's right).
Also, I really love/hate that Solas calls her Inquisitor 'An and not "Vhenan". Yeah... I like to torture myself...
This comic is self-indulgence, but also a practice to draw DATV characters. I love Bellara soooo much. She's also just super easy to draw!
