I passed by Moji Bakery every day after work so I would dropped in to buy their baked pastries which are pretty good. Picked up a flaky sweet Kaya Puff (咖椰角) for S$1.20 and three savoury Seremban Char Siew Pau (芙蓉烧包). These baked char siew buns are priced at 1 for S$1.80 or 3 for S$5 and are filled with juicy diced barbecued pork.

for breakfast i made pitas. baked them, cut tomatoes, shaved cucumbers and cut bananas (sprinkled with expired cinnamon!). after they were done i scrambled a plain egg with only ground cinnamon on it. it was tasty but i only ate half cuz my mom wanted to go dimsum shop. (tuition at 11am)
at 9 something we arrived at jiaxuan dimsum or something similar sounding. when waiting, went to 99 speedmart. loved scrutinising the processsed bread section. the mighty white bun variety is actually mesmerizing. the packaging is very attention grabbing. strawberry lychee, butter sugar, milo, chicken floss, black pepper chicken, blueberry flavours etc!!! like wtf so many flalvors!! some other brand was mas producing multiflavoured muffins. 8 for rm5.30 dude what a deal! except i guess eating it may cause serious cardiovascular diseases teehee.
ordered 2 salted egg yolk custard buns (SUPER GOOD DUDE), 2 char siew pau (EH OK BUT GOOD), 6 siew mai (TASTED LIKE MINCED MEAT), fried turnip cake (rlly GOOD!!), fried prawn, scallop and salted egg yolk beancurd thing (love the blandness of it FOR REAL!! cuz i only ate the egg yolk part. it wasnt distributed EVENLY LOL). siew mai fell into my warm water and drenched it in oil. cuz i was grabbing it with chopsticks then my dad asked where a siew mai go and i raised it to show him that i took one.. lol. total bill: RM78 ☠️. at least it was a pleasant experience.
went home and ate oreo cadbury chocolate bar and the other half of my breakfast pita. tuition. shower. went to tapao lunch. mayang oasis food court - malay mixed rice. omg!!! pickled veggies (carrot, cucumber, onion) SO TASTYYYYYY OMGGG IM GONNA CUM, steamed broccoli (SO TENDER!! LOVE LOVE LOVE) and rendang chicken drumstick (fragrANTTT!! not implying that there were many ants at that stall, just felt like making ANT capitalised). dad bought additionally 2 angku kuih and 2 fried glutinous sesame balls. delicious. for lunch also ate chili lala clams and orange. then snacked on angku kuih, pocky, cadbury chocolate and kuih bahulu. i need to control my eating habits!!!
wrote poems, drew posters, revamped dress rental poster, wrote a story…. good night. so full. ugh!

Dim Sum basket. Suoi Gao?(Dumpling/gyoza) Siew Mai, Moogle shape and Namazu shape buns. Estinien, Sidugru and Cirina would like to know if those were made of moogle and Namazu respectively. Probably not, other meat(char siew boar, fish, Apkallu?) or vegetative fillings (lotus/ red bean paste mayhaps Is Mun tuy soya bean? )

A little bits of this and that plus a fried egg and I have made myself a Gua Bao (刈包) or lotus leaf bun sandwich. The char siu are leftovers which mum reheated and the prawn rolls are from this morning trip to the economy rice stall.

a not-so-short retelling of my day in pov form :o)
today is a strange day. you wake up groggily, slamming your fist on your alarm clock to turn it off, only to find out that you had overslept your first alarm. the day has just only started but you're already feeling like crap. some stretching and meditation is needed, and by the time you finish, your body is naturally awake.
you finally reach school, and you walk upstairs to meet a friend. they always make you feel better, but you don't get to see them as often as you wish.
they excitedly tell you everything that happened while the two of you couldn't meet – their guitar playing has improved, their bad days, and their good ones. all over breakfast, which is a can of coffee for you and a bottle of apple juice for them, as well as two fresh char siew baos (BBQ pork buns), neatly packaged from the vendor in the cafeteria. perhaps today would be a good day.
heading back to your class, you receive your test results. lower than what you expect, and it definitely lowers your happy, caffeine-induced mood. your morning isn't looking so bright, and someone spilt their bottle of water in class, so the puddles on the ground seem to reflect your mood – and face. you think of buckets of tears, for some reason. perhaps it's because of your upset mood? a hug from a friend makes it better. you feel quiet tears at the edge of your eyes, but you blink them back. today's emotions are all over the place.
after an hour and a half of lessons, your friends drag you back to the cafeteria to get some food. today starts to look a little brighter. maybe it'd even be good. a hug from a vaccinated friend makes it happier as well. numerous hi-fives occur from different people – vaccinated – throughout your day. doesn't that make you feel a lot better?
many other things happen that day. a stranger smiles at you in the bus. a happy child sits next to you, his joyous enthusiasm lifting your spirits a little. you hear someone laughing from the other end of the bus with a friend. this space is filled with emotions, and you can't help but think to yourself that that would be a great name for a book.
you get off the bus to head home. the air is fresh and crisp with petrichor and the earthy, sweet smell of the ground, after the rain. the clouds seem to be picture-perfect today! , you think to yourself as you take your camera out to take a photograph... the wind sends a chill through you and you hurry home. while it is refreshing – you still don't want to get a cold.
altogether, today is a good day – a bad morning, but a good day nonetheless; filled with casual magic and little happy and sad thoughts throughout. no two days are the same, but there is a bittersweet longing for the next one, hm?

TEAWOKS 🇲🇾 // @teawoks is one of my go-to Malaysian places in Perth for good Sarawakian fare. ❤️ menu on @perthfoodmenu or click #PFR_TeaWoks We had: - Kampua Mee $10.50 - Foo Chow Fried Noodle Soup $13.90 - Pork Bun “Siew Bao” $2.90 - Foochow Kompia $7.50 (3 pieces) Both noodles were delicious. The roast pork pieces had crispy skin and I loved how they didn’t use any colouring for their char siew. The Foo Chow fried noodle soup had good wokhei and was flavoursome. Siew Bao was packed with meat and quite good. Foochow Kompia buns isn’t deep-fried anymore so it’s less oily. Fresh pickled chilli and yes, I did kill all of that pickled chilli. 😆 #TeaWoks #Perth #EastPerth #Malaysian #PerthMalaysian #PerthNoodles #Kampua #Noodles #SiewBao #NoodleWorship #FooChow #Kompia #福州美食 #福州 #面 #PerthFoodReview (at TeaWoks) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVm9MKfPl7o/?utm_medium=tumblr
