we get a lot of really great stuff in system collapse about murderbot's relationships with ART and ratthi, which makes sense, because it spends almost the entire book with them. but i also love how even though mensah isn't there for most of the story, other people keep reminding mb of her:

chapter 2, page 25: “From ART’s personnel file, she [Karime] was older than Mensah and she didn’t look like an intrepid space explorer, either, even in the protective environmental suit.”

2, 27: “It took Karime three seconds to process the abrupt statement. (She was almost as good at not looking annoyed as Mensah was.) She kept her expression neutral and patient.”

2, 28: “In the underground colony room, Karime lifted her brows. ‘Another occupied site?’ I thought she was being careful not to show too much reaction. It was the way Mensah would have played it.”

4, 70: “Iris looked at me and I saw her hesitate, because her hesitation looked a lot like Dr. Mensah’s hesitation. And I realized I really didn’t want to go down there.”

5, 104: "Iris has that same thing as Dr. Mensah, the thing where she’s able to look and sound calm under circumstances where shit is possibly about to go down.”

it's spent so much time with her and it knows her so well and respects her so much that she's the model against which it compares all other humans. it thinks about her when they're not together. it's protective of her. it has such total faith in her competence. it (non-romantically) loves her and doesn't want to not see her again. idk man, it just gets to me! and they were teammates (oh my god they were teammates!!)

Yes, Noragami is still ending with Volume 27

I've seen quite a bit of misinformation being thrown around that the article about Noragami ending that was released earlier this year was "misinterpreted" and that the fact that 107-2 is not going to be the final chapter is proof that it's not ending that soon. This is due to misunderstanding the release schedule.

Noragami is ending with volume 27, at the "end of 2023". This information is not in dispute.

What is in dispute is exactly how long volume 27 is going to be, which is what led to the original estimates of how many chapters are left.

Most volumes consist of four 44-page chapters, for a total page count of 176 pages plus table of contents, acknowledgements, 4-koma, etc.

Volume 1 was an exception. It only had 3 chapters, where chapter 1 was 68 pages, chapter 2 was 60 pages, and chapter 3 was 54 pages for a total of 182 pages. The standard 44-page count started with chapter 4.

Volume 27 will start with chapter 104. 104-106 were all the standard 44-page chapters. The first part of chapter 107 released yesterday was released as a 22-page segment, with 107-2 to be released on 9/6/23, and not be the final release (since there would have been an announcement if it was). This could mean:

Chapter 107 is the last chapter but, as is typical for final chapters, is longer than normal and will be released in 3-4 parts instead of 2.

Chapter 107 is not the last chapter, but rather chapter 108 is, and Volume 27 will have 5 chapters (come to think of it, 108 is an excellent number for the series to end on, because the number 108 is important in Eastern religions)

Some combination of both of the above is true, where 107 is 3 parts and 108 will get dropped all at once afterwards.

Regardless of the release schedule, which is the only unknown, the "end of 2023" end date means we have between 2 and 4 monthly releases left. We just don't know how many pages those releases are going to be or what chapter numbers are going to be associated with them.

Well. SniperSpy's Great Misadventures has finally come to its end. I'm not going to lie, I will miss this project so damn much but at the same time I couldn't be happier I got to tell the story I wanted and give my dearest darlings the ending they deserve. This is the ending I always wanted to give them and this is the ending I always had in mind with each chapter.

I already announced it on instagram but my interest in tbhk have dropped drastically since some time and I was gonna give the manga the benefit of the doubt because chap 104 was okay Ig?

Chapter 105 just showed everything I have been not liking about the writing in tbhk in one chapter youhou

I adore class 1-A I would die for them

The pages in black and white were cool, the art is perfect as always. Maybe seeing an Akane and Hanako team up would be fire af but with Teru here I doubt it so this is a tiny hope I will put in hell with everything else for now.

Yokoo is rocking this outfit too. I like the fact that the clock being destroyed just stops everything and everyone's time (like a certain character but who has a limit *COUGHS* probably for this reason Ig)

Idk if I am strong enough to go on a full explanation on why my interest dropped since some chapters, this didn't start on this one, this one was just the last straw. I will just show the most obvious choices that I don't like ( my opinion btw this is just the feeling I have while reading, take this with a BIG grain of salt)

I've been reading tbhk for 4 years and I am tired of waiting for stuff the author litteraly won't do anything about and just stay in their comfort zone

No repercussions on the mcs for some choices they made, no repercussions on wounds/stuff that happened which should have need time to heal for the characters or for them to grow, giving us always the same team up so no room for real character/relationship development beside the obvious (and with how slow Hanako and Nene have been going honestly making the same characters always interact doesn't help at all apparently L O L), BIG difference of pacing for characters growth, making the story take always the same route with the same characters being kidnapped and the same ones doing the savings, putting characters in an arc they have no reason to be part of so just making them stand in the background like a caricature of themselves, making characters 'mysterious' or forgetting their character development just to use them as some sort of deus ex machina, and the worst of all:

Making Nene just a reason for Hanako to react and nothing else. No character development for her, no reason for her to be in some scenes, this is just sad to watch at this point. Aoi had this problem at the beginning of the manga for Akane mostly for comedic reason and they had growth, seeing they are putting Nene in this position after more than 100 chapters and her being the mc is just awful.

I honestly just want more diversity in the choices they are making in their writing, and the last chapter proves me that either it will come in a long time or it never will.

At least the art is pretty, and the worst part is that I KNOW AidaIro knows how use setup, they know how to write really good stuff and good characters, complex stories, and it's GOOD. So seeing this in the recent chapters just makes me even more tired x'))

Once again, my opinion, but the way Nene and Aoi are treated in the manga makes me wanna explode. AidaIro are capable of writing good female characters (thank you Mei and Sumire for being perfect from start to end), Aoi and Nene had wonderful time too, so idk why all of this is happening rn tbh. It's just sad.

Maybe the brainrot will come back, I still love the characters, but I really need to take a break from the fandom anyways (not gonna expand on this but oh boy how annoying a part of the fandom is, a lot of people are the sweetest but a part makes me wanna explode, I've been more than 3 years here and I think that the most I can take at this point)

42! Some older stuff didn't make the jump from ff.net and lj to ao3

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

357,987, half of that is for universal river alone haha

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Right now mainly Hetalia, but I used to write a lot of Naruto some ten years ago. I also dabbled a little with Captain America, Star Trek, Inuyasha and some other random fandoms over the years

Considering that these are all one-shots and universal river is currently 28 chapters long, I'd place it much lower on this list lol

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yes! Might take me a while because I like to do it from my computer instead of my phone, but I try to reply as quickly as possible. I feel so guilty over some older comments that I never replied to that I try to be on top of it as much as possible.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Mmmmmmm I think it's a tie between the For now we see through a glass, darkly and I held sugar between my fingertips, under water

As much as I like a cathartic ending, I really do enjoy a pit of despair every once in a while (The earth devours is also going to have a sort of bleak ending lol)

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably Such sound and fury and Old new beginnings, as in they don't end in a compromise or in a vague hopeful note. Characters went through the process and came out better for it on the other end. That's always a happy ending to me.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I received some, usually from England fans who think I'm massacring their boy

9. Do you write smut?

Yesss, smut is a lot of fun!

10. Craziest crossover?

I'm not really big on crossovers :(

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

That I know of, once. It was a Naruto NaruHina fic that a friend of mine found cross-posted on orkut, some kid thought it was good and wanted her friends to see it. I asked her to take it down and direct people to the ff.net page but I stopped following up on that after a while. This was of course some 15 years ago XD

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

A faery song was translated into Chinese! But I'm not super comfortable with translations, specially when people ask me if it's ok to post them in different platforms. I'd rather keep it all on Ao3 where I can see what it's being used for.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

@rein-ette and I did a collaboration on a Tokyo Olympics series and I also did a collaboration with @rosesandalfazemas where I wrote two pieces and she provided beautiful art <3

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Mmmmm I used to have two Naruto fics that I always hoped to finish but I have long accepted I'm never going back to them again lol and because of that I try to never go into bigger projects without having finished the full draft, so that exact same thing doesn't happen again. So yeah, might take me some time but I still hope to finish In this universal river and The earth devours haha

16. What are your writing strengths?

I've been told it's description, which I find funny because I always think I'm doing a terrible job at it lol but to me it's managing the tension. It's something I adore doing and I try to be better at it with every new fic.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Descriptions lol I feel like if I were writing any kind of original fiction instead of fanfiction based on a pre-existing work no one would know what my characters looked like apart from eye and hair color lol

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

Eeeeh I'm kinda iffy about it. When used right, in the right context and with actual meaning within the narrative I think it can be cool as hell, but having Naruto as my main background I cannot tell you the amount of random japanese thrown in for effect that made no sense and pissed me offfffffff, so yeah, I don't really love it. For many years Hetalia was also plagued by this and I have to admit I did it too. I was learning russian back in college and I thought it'd be cool to throw in some russian in a fic, only to receive a comment telling me I shouldn't use google translate and that the word I used was feminine and not masculine as it should be. Which is, you know, the kind of mistake you make when you're learning a new language and haven't fully grasped gender rules yet. I felt so ashamed after that that I never tried it again lol

I will say this though, sometimes I prefer when people don't use foreign words when it's just thrown in there. I speak English as a second language and I don't mix it up with Portuguese unless I'm tired and/or drunk. I'd rather writers give me a reason why these characters are suddenly reverting to their mother-language and use that to add to the plot instead of just randomly throwing stuff there to give it a foreign color.

19. First fandom you wrote in?

Inuyasha!! Back in 2004! I wrote a behemoth of 38 chapters and posted it all in one thing thing on ff.net (I later cleaned it up and fixed it with 38 chapters lol)

20. Favourite fic you've written?

Forget-me-nots, 1212: fever dream (part of the 2021 whumptober) and And he became a pillar of salt (part of the 2023 hetaberia week) :)

read the essay 'ecstasy' and decided the rest just wasn't for me. it really messed with my interest in the whole thing and I just don't think it was worth it to put any more of my interest in this work. oh well. the first 4 essays were enjoyable enough.

My Non-Profit

I was looking for several non-profit organizations. One that is truly meaningful to me has to be my dance group “San Simon Sucre Rhode Island”. Instead of choosing another organization to evaluate their metrics. I want to understand the problems and come up with solutions for my dance group social media pages. The social media pages are run by three people and that’s including me. None of us have experience in social media marketing but I can say it’s something that motivates me to want to learn more about it. 

A little more information about this non-profit organization is that it’s a dance group in which the dance originates from Bolivia. There are many other cultures that do the same dance. Many people dance for religious reasons but there are several people that do it to get involved in a group. San Simon Sucre Rhode Island performs in many different states like New York, New Jersey and Virginia. The group was created in 2018 and has grown to have twenty four active dancers. San Simon Sucre is a fraternity worldwide that has many different cultures. 

Looking at the Instagram page for this organization, they have 203 followers. Many followers stemming from the states mentioned before. There are also many fellow dancers that follow the account from overseas. The account also has 59 posts and averaging at least 3 likes per post. After reading the chapter I noticed they have a missed opportunity to promote their brand and mission.  I think the page is missing their purpose, it would be cool to add our story to show who we are. There are plenty of pictures on the page but nothing meaningful to teach or show. Learning that posting meaningful and relatable content helps grow pages, especially a non-profit. Each post I see has  hashtags to try to reach certain groups but it still isn’t reaching many engagements. Looking at the content it looks like very generic posts about San Simon. San Simon Sucre Rhode Island has Facebook, Instagram and Youtube but don’t use their platforms at their potential.

Their most popular social media platform has to be their Facebook page with 7.7 thousand followers and 7.6 thousand likes. The interaction with their post varies from one like to a hundred likes. I also noticed a majority of the posts are reshared posts from other accounts. The purpose and meaning of the organization is also missing. I think posting more video content of our performances will grab the attention of many users on the platform. The most recent post about an open house for the group coming up has 87 likes. I think there’s definitely a better way to manage the account to reach its fullest potential. I think focusing on creating video content is going to be an important aspect of growing. Having people spend time watching the video, Facebook would push the content to other users because of the algorithm. Posting video content of the leaders of the organization talking about the purpose and goals for the group would be something genuine that people see and would make people consider helping in any way they can.
