✧.* summary: during the events of atsv, pav is feeling mega stressed out. it's only natural for him to regress. once hobie's finished with his own interdimensional watches, his first stop is pavitr's dimension. he doesn't expect to find that pavitr has regressed!!

Pavitr was probably the most optimistic person out of the rest of his friends. Always the one comforting the others, yet he never appeared to be the one who needed comforting. Nobody could determine how Pavitr could possibly cope with the burdens that came with being Spider-Man. And Pavitr would never tell them.

Ever since Pavitr became the Spider-Man of his dimension, he was prone to having these... Episodes. He didn't know what else he could call them. Those times when everything felt too much, felt too big for him to handle. Where his mind went back to the times where things were simple, when he was little.

He'd always felt a little embarrassed of his episodes. He was the big, strong Pavitr Prabhakar, the Spider-Man of Mumbattan! How would everyone react if they knew his secret? He didn't know, and he didn't want to know. He kept that part of himself hidden, and he hid it pretty well. Well, not well enough, apparently.

It was the evening after the disaster in Mumbattan, where that dreaded black hole tore open in the center of the city. Pavitr had just returned home from his duties as Spider-Man, not even changed out of his suit yet, curled up in bed, yet unable to sleep. So many things were weighing him down. What would happen to his universe? What about Miles- How much trouble would Miles be in for helping him? What about Gwen? What about Hobie?

What about this? What about that? Those questions kept repeating in his head. It was only natural for him to slip into another episode. He took the pillow he was resting his head on, holding it close to his chest now. It was the closest thing he had to a stuffed animal. He wished he didn't get rid of his old plushies.

Pavitr felt more alone than ever, tears welling up in his eyes. He was unable to talk to anyone about his feelings, since most of the revolved around his life as Spider-Man. He wanted to see his friends again, but he knew he'd get in trouble if he saw them without Miguel's permission. He just wanted to know if everything would be alright in the end. He just wanted everything to be okay.

Meanwhile, in another universe, Hobie had just returned from the Spider Society. He'd never go back, considering the fact that he'd quit. He felt bad leaving for Miles on his own, but he had faith in him. Miles was smart, he'd surely figure things out on his own. Plus, Hobie was going to come back for him, anyway. He'd return to all of his friends in due time.

He emptied his pockets, the contents of which were the tech he'd stolen from Miguel's precious Spider Society. If his calculations were correct, he had just enough parts to finish his plan: Project Bootleg. If Miguel could make interdimensional travel watches, then Hobie can too. Just about a hundred times better, without all those pesky limitations that Miguel put in place.

He was finishing up a few things, soldering a few pieces to the last watch and ironing out some code. And finally- He'd done it. The last watch was complete! He tossed it into the bag he stored the rest of them in, slinging the bag over his shoulder. Initially, his first stop would be to pick up Gwen- But something told him that Pavitr should be the first. He probably wasn't holding up so well after what happened in Mumbattan, after all.

Hobie typed some coordinates into his own watch, watching as the portal opened in front of him. He stepped through, being taken into the swirling wormhole. His spider sense was tingling as he was closer and closer to Pavitr's dimension. Was something wrong with Pavitr? Maybe. Whatever it was, Hobie would be there to help.

Hobie had landed on the fire escape of Pavitr's apartment complex. Now all he had to do was find out which window led to his room. Hobie pulled his mask on over his head, before scaling up the wall of the building. He wasn't quite sure where exactly Pavitr's apartment was. Heck, he didn't even know if this was the right building. It had to be, considering the fact his spider sense had tingled as he approached a specific window.

Pavitr was still in his room, still cuddling his pillow like his life depended on it. Tears fell from eyes, though he barely made a sound. He was just waiting out this episode of his, though it was taking forever to pass. Suddenly, he heard the tapping of his window. He let go of the pillow, getting up to see what it was. He was surprised to find that it was...

"H- Hobie?" Pavitr asked, his voice coming out higher than he wanted it to.

Hobie motioned for Pavitr to open the window. Pavitr followed through with that request, as Hobie let himself inside.

"Been a little bit since-" Hobie started, but not finishing his sentence, when Pavitr hugged him tightly.

Even though Hobie expected Pavitr to be going through a lot right now, he didn't expect him to be this... Clingy. He didn't mind it, though. He wrapped his arms around him, running his fingers through his hair. 

"Missed me that much, Pav?" Hobie asked.

Pavitr nodded, his head still buried into Hobie's chest. Pavitr was acting different than Hobie was used to. That higher pitch in his voice when he said Hobie's name, the way he was so physically dependent on Hobie- Even the way he looked at him earlier seemed different. Childlike.

He'd heard of age regression before. He knew the signs. But he'd never seen Pavitr display any of them. While Hobie was still trying to determine how he didn't know sooner, Pavitr was starting to calm down. He wasn't crying anymore. He didn't even care if Hobie figured out about his episodes right now. He knew that out of all people, Hobie was the last one to ever judge him.

"Pav, did you-" Hobie asked, rewording his question, "Did you miss me?"

He was going to ask him if he'd regressed, but he wasn't sure if that would be a good idea. He didn't want to scare Pavitr, or make him panic. The last thing he wanted was to stress him out even more. So, he went along with it, as if it was nothing out of the ordinary.

"Missed you lots..." Pavitr mumbled in response.

Hobie smiled, "I missed you, too."

Of course, they'd both seen each other earlier that day. But, Hobie knew that Pavitr was in a vulnerable state, so it was no wonder that he missed him. Pavitr looked up at Hobie, his expression being one of worry.

"Did something- D-Did something bad happen...?" Pavitr asked, "Are you allowed to- To be here?"

"Everything's gonna be fine, love." Hobie assured him, "And I, well- I quit. Don't have to worry about asking for anybody's approval anymore."

Hobie showed off his watch, Pavitr observing it with curious eyes. Hobie must've made it himself, Pavitr assumed. He was still concerned about why Hobie had quit the Spider Society, though.

"Why'd you quit?" Pavitr asked.

"Miguel's system wasn't sitting right with me anymore. Never really sat right with me in the first place, to be fair." Hobie answered.

"Something real bad must've happened, then-" Pavitr worried further.

Hobie placed his hands on Pavitr's shoulders, bending down a bit to be eye-to-eye with him. He saw the worry in his eyes, he heard the way his voice wavered slightly. If Hobie had it his way, he'd make everything bad in the world go away. He'd sew that black hole in Mumbattan closed if he could, just so Pavitr didn't have to worry about a thing.

"I promise you, you've got nothing to worry about. Everything will be okay, even if it takes a bit. I'll take care of everything. And-" Hobie promised, "And I'll take care of you. Alright, little guy?"

"I'll take care of you". Those words meant the world to Pavitr right now. That's all he needed in these trying times, someone who'd look after him and make sure everything was okay, even if it was only for a little while. Pavitr nodded, his worries starting to fade.

"Okay... Okay." Pavitr responded.

Hobie smiled. He was better at this whole 'caregiver' thing than he thought he'd be. Pavitr was already starting to relax a little, and all Hobie had to do was say some positive affirmations. He knew it probably wouldn't be this easy in the future, but he was willing to take on any challenges that came with being a caregiver. As long as Pavitr was happy.

"You know... You can always come to me when you feel like this, love." Hobie offered, "You don't even have to say anything- Just come to me. Sound alright to you?"

Hobie didn't outright state anything about Pavitr's regression, but Pavitr knew what he meant. And he was very, very grateful to have someone like Hobie to take care of him. Of course, he accepted that offer.

"I will... Promise." Pavitr responded.

"Alright." Hobie added, "How about we sit for a bit, hm? Have a bit of a cuddle, maybe?"

As much as Hobie needed to round up the other Spider-People, he did have time to take care of Pavitr, even if it was only for a little bit. Plus, he wanted to make sure Pavitr was in the right headspace to help rescue Miles. Pavitr nodded again.

They were both sitting on Pavitr's bed now, Pavitr resting on Hobie's lap. Hobie held Pavitr close to his chest, playing with his hair with one hand while supporting the rest of his body with the other. They were both in their own little world, where nothing could possibly harm either of them. Not on Hobie's watch, that's for sure.

"There we go... Everything's okay now, little one." Hobie cooed, "I'm right here. I'm not leavin' anytime soon."

Hobie was rubbing Pavitr's back gently. Pavitr had felt more content with his regression than he'd ever felt before. The previous times he'd regressed, he always waited them out, without actually feeling any better. Now, he had someone to help all of those big, bad feelings go away for good.

Hobie was also in a very good mood. He found that taking care of Pavitr was just as comforting in its own way. Just knowing that Pavitr was in a safe space while he was little was enough for him. He wanted to protect him from the world, wanted to make any bad feelings he had disappear. He just wanted to be there for his little guy.

Hobie remembered his plan, Project Bootleg. His plan to save Miles. He knew he and Pavitr couldn't stay like this forever. And Pavitr still seemed to be regressed, too... So, he decided to approach the situation in a different way.

"Hey, Pav?" Hobie asked, "How's about we go an a little adventure?"

That seemed to get Pavitr's attention, "Adventure?"

"Mhm. An adventure." Hobie repeated, "How about we go find Miles?"

"Miles?" Pavitr asked, "Is he hiding?"

Hobie paused, "...Sure. He's playing hide and seek."

Pavitr tilted his head a little. He didn't know about what had gone on in the Spider Society after Hobie left. So, he just assumed that what Hobie was saying was true.

"And we're the seekers?" Pavitr questioned.

"That's right. So are the rest of our friends, love." Hobie answered, "Miles, he... He's too good at hiding. We've gotta get the rest of our friends to help us."

"Ohhh- Okay!" Pavitr replied, "Do we gotta go now...?"

Hobie nodded, "Mhm. But, it'll be fun. I promise."

Hobie felt a little guilty for sugar-coating the situation. But, Pavitr was little right now. He didn't want to worry Pavitr, not while he's like this. Hobie would tell Pavitr once he was big again. Hobie grabbed Pavitr's mask off of the nightstand by his bed, pulling it over Pavitr's head. He fixed Pavitr's hair a little, before putting his own mask on.

"You ready to go, Pavi?" Hobie asked.

Pavitr nodded, "Mhm!"

"Good." Hobie replied.

He took one of the watches from his bag, taking the one Pavitr was currently wearing off of his wrist. He switched it out for the one he made himself, before picking up Pavitr. He held him close to his chest, as if he was light as a feather. Pavitr was still clinging onto Hobie happily, while Hobie was punching a set of coordinates into his own watch. The familiar newspaperd portal opened in front of them.

"Let's go play some hide and seek, little guy." Hobie said, before carrying Pavitr into the portal with him.

🕷🕸Little!Miles and Cg!Hobie headcanons🕸🕷

-Miles gets really shy about regressing. Like, really shy. He hides his gear very well in a bag under his bed.

-He doesn't have a lot of gear, it's just a baby pacifier he got from the corner store and a diy sippy cup made from a regular thermos and a silicon straw. But even though it's not a lot, he still feels the need to hide it.

-Miles' regression is mostly voluntary, but once he's in little space he can't exactly "snap out of it" quickly. He usually waits until he's alone at night on the weekends to regress, after patrol or a super villain fight.

-Miles tends to go non-speaking when in little space, in part because he doesn't like how he sounds when he's small. The way his voice cracks and goes up several octaves makes him feel even smaller and makes him afraid that someone will find out.

-The first time anyone found out that Miles regresses, it was Hobie and it was an accident. He'd stumbled in on Miles in the middle of the night and found him curled up in his bed, paci in mouth, watching baby sensory videos on his phone to help him calm down after a big fight.

-Hobie never really thought he'd be good at taking care of anyone, but he really enjoys being Miles' caregiver.

-Hobie calls Miles a whole assortment of nicknames, including "sunflower", "kiddo", "li'l man", and "love".

-Miles likes to color a lot when he's little. Hobie gets him a coloring book and assorted coloring supplies(he stole them but Miles doesn't need to know that).

-Hobie is not a perfect caregiver at first, but he learns quickly. He learns how to stand on the delicate balance of being caring and loving, and being patronizing. Thankfully, Miles is very forgiving.

-Hobie likes to carry Miles around. Miles is overjoyed to be carried.

-Once Hobie takes Miles out swinging while regressed. He loses Miles almost instantly though, and finds him thirty minutes later playing on a construction crane as if it's a jungle gym. Hobie makes a note to invest in one of those backpack-leashes.

-Hobie gets Miles more little gear, like a teether(shaped like Spider-Man's face, ironically) and a couple of board-back storybooks from a thrift store, and a box of bandaids with comic book characters on them.

-Miles loves gifts when he's little, but when he's big he panics a bit because he's getting more things related to his regression and its going to get harder to hide it all. He can't bring himself to refuse the gifts, though.

-Eventually, with Hobie's help, Miles tells Peter and Gwen(and Pav, on accident) about his regression. And suddenly he goes from being alone most of the time to almost always having a caregiver on call.

Caregiver! Hobie Brown, Little! Pavitr Prabhakar & GN Little! Reader (SFW!)

Hobie was more than excited to have one of his best friends here with his little one, especially since they’re both Littles.

In the past Hobie was always Pav’s go to babysitter for when he regressed and was away from his Caregiver Gayatri aka his girlfriend. Now add Y/N, Hobie’s Little to the mix and you have a recipe that was made in heaven.

Y/N was practically bouncing off the walls waiting for Pav to show up. They couldn’t wait. They already had everything set up for Pav! Their play table was already set up with their plastic tea set, Mr. Bear was already dressed up for the event and so was Y/N.

Hobie decided to get on top of things before he got there. So he was in the kitchen making food and snack for the Littles. While he did, Y/N would periodically check in on him.

“Is he here yet?”

“Not yet love but soon I imagine.” His eyes glanced to the clock. “Actually he should be here anyyyyy….”

DING DONG

“…minute.”

Y/N screamed and ran across the small flat to the front door, waiting for Hobie to join them.

Hobie walked over and opened the front door letting in an excited and fancy dressed Pav, all ready for the tea party.

Immediately he hugged Hobie, “Thank you for having me over again!!”

Then he went and hugged Y/N, “I can’t wait for our tea party!!”

Once they broke apart, Y/N took his hand and the two ran into Y/N’s room while the adults talked about boring Caregiver stuff.

Inside Y/N’s room was a small table set up with the works! Little plastic saucers, plastic tea cups, small plastic spoon and more. Chairs circled around the table, some filled with stuffies and other empty for the two of them.

“Please take your seat!” Y/N offered, before grabbing a chair themselves.

“No please! Allow me,” Pav grabbed the chair and pulled it out for Y/N to sit. They giggled as they took a seat and had Pav push them in.

“Thank you good sir!” Y/N added.

“My pleasure.” Pav replied, taking a seat himself.

Hobie walked into the room, hands full of food. “Look alive everyone! I have some snacks for you rascals.”

Hobie made a wonderful set up for the two of them. Mini sandwiches, some crackers, and more. All their favorites set up on a little platter.

He left for a moment only to return with their tea pot. They both too regressed for actual hot tea so instead Hobie brewed the teas cold so that if they spilled it or went to sip it they would burn themselves.

“Alright,” Hobie clapped, “I’ll be in the living room if you two need anything. Enjoy the tea party.” He winked before leaving.

Then the tea party commenced!! The two took some snacks and Pav had the honor of pouring each party guest their cup of tea.

“Thank you good sir.” Y/N said taking a sip of their tea.

“My pleasure!” Pav smiled back, pouring a cup for himself.

The two of them began talking about everything! From drama between their stuffies, to what missions they’ve been on in the last few days, to random tidbits about their favorite tv shows.

“Have you heard what happened to fluffy last week?!” Pav pointed to his rabbit.

“No! What happened?!”

“She was bouncing to the store when she fell down a storm drain and almost got washed away!!”

Y/N gasped! “That’s horrible!!”

“I know! She smelled like trash afterwards too.” Pav laughed, Y/N joined him. “But thankfully she took a bath and now she’s okay.”

“There’s a scandal going on in my room! Mr. Waddles broke up with his girlfriend Mindy and now he’s going out with her sister!”

Now Pav gasped, “WHAT. A. SCANDAL!”

They just talked for hours. But then it got quiet for a while. That worked up Hobie’s ears. Hobie, who was sitting in the living room tuning his guitar, decided to check on his now very quiet Littles. What he found was an adorable sight.

Pav and Y/N slept peacefully beside one another in Y/N crib. Both still dressed fancy with their fancy dressed stuffies around. Hobie could help but smile.

He grabbed a blanket and wrapped the two up in it. With a kiss to each of their head he turned off the lights and turned on the night lights.

I guess you could say the tea party was a major success!

🎀 : As much as I don't like to post after I already posted recently, I couldn't pass a hobie headcanon. Thank you for asking anon! Hope you enjoy :] ✨

🎸 : unlike Miles and Pravitr he's completely a rebellious caregiver. Bedtimes? Nah, rules? Not unless you really need them, and he encourages you to get in a little of his shenanigans here and there

🎸 : he often gets his ear torn off by the others about how he takes care of you

🧸 : he has a hard time directly comforting when you need it. He's not around it alot and since you're in a vulnerable state he has to find his own ways to help you

🧸 : even if it's just a pat on the shoulder or telling you you're fine

☕ : He's not the one to use petnames. At first he didn't use them at all or kept forgetting, but slowly began calling you them now and again

☕ : punk/bugger/kid/rebellion/little dude is his usual petnames for you

☕ : he's not that affectionate either, though that doesn't mean he doesn't like a good cuddle or hug sometimes. In fact he finds it comforting, but he won't admit it

🎸 : out of all the spider people, he is the most active when it came taking you places and getting you out of the house. Pravitr loves Taking you places like parks, sure. But what about carnivals, pools, hiking and concerts? Hobie is your guy for that stuff

🎸 : "Hey, little dude, how about instead of sleeping we skip to go to a concert? I heard they're selling cotton candy!~"

☕ : he might've snuck you out of the house several times during his times of taking care of you— even if he gets an earful from Miguel or Gwen the most at the end

🎸 : if he upsets you in any way, he'd just write letters to you and give them to you full of apologies. Usually containing: horrible drawings (don't worry he tried his best), him writing sentences on sentences of him being sorry, and just sappy things

🎸 : he apologizes like you're about to bite him for it

☕ : "They asked for no pickles.."

🎸 : he'll never admit it, but he can get jealous whenever you're being babysat with someone else that isn't him. like.. so jealous he'd tear up

🎸 : don't worry though, a simple hug or you just being yourself around him makes him feel instantly better

☕ : "back off, man, they're just a kid."

🎸 : not overprotective but protective enough to tell others to back off if you're overwhelmed. If Miguel expects you to do a heavy job Hobie will do it instead instantly.. maybe scold Miguel a bit in the process

🧸 : If you happen to fall asleep that isn't in your bed, he'd carry you "bridal pose" or pick you up by your armpits and make sure you're covered up and comfortable in your room. Don't worry he'll let you have your sleep. Afterall a little one like you needs it

hobie studied you from across the room, seeing you quietly make cupcakes for the others. No special occasion but you thought it would be nice thing to do Afterall. Lately you've been secretly Regressing, feeling bad for it you kept it to yourself. Hobie started to catch on but you'd quickly denied it or do something that made him forget about your behavior change. It worked for a few days but hobie knew you a bit too well. He's been your caregiver for about two months so there wasn't going around it. Not now or anytime soon. Before you know it you slipped completely. you try to grasp the little parts you have left to stay big, but it was too late. Hobie raised an eyebrow, catching on what happened. Even though in your regressed state, you continue to make the cupcakes. You weren't even half done.. and this was harder than it looked. You grabbed the ingredients and put it inside the blender, about to turn it on before a soft hand cupped yours, stopping you in your tracks. You looked up to see Hobie, who had a curious look on his face. It was almost unreadable but you can tell he was more confused than anything.. maybe just his neutral expression? He just tilted his head at you before he let out a soft chuckle. "Hey, hey how.. c'mon, kid.. you aren't getting past me with that 'oh I'm a big kid' bullcrap.. you're too little to bake by yourself. Here, let me help you..”

🕸🎸 Even more Little!Miles Headcanons feat Hobie, Gwen, and Peter 🎸🕸

- Miles is very nervous about coming out to his friends. He doesn't want them to think differently of him or treat him like a little kid, but he still wants them to know so he doesn't have to hide it from them and because they're some of his closest friends, he thinks that they deserve to know

- Hobie helps him to tell Gwen and Peter

- Even though Miles wants to tell them, he still puts it off for a few weeks. He wants to be prepared for the worst case scenario, which he doesn't want to think about but wants to be ready anyway

- It doesn't go exactly to plan, of course. He's still Spider-Man and plans don't go off without a hitch for Spider-Man

- Miles had intended to invite them over for a movie and tell them then but Pav needs help in his dimension and by the time they all make it back, Miles is exhausted and halfway regressed

- Hobie notices of course and tries to help him stay big(not out of malice or shame but because Miles wanted to be big for this and he wants to help) but Miles only slips further in his frustration

- He ends up hiding under Hobie's battle vest in shame while Hobie tries to explain it away as Miles being tired

- Finally Miles tells the others when the won't leave it alone and keep pestering him to figure out what's wrong

- Gwen and Peter are initially shocked, but Pavitr is immediately understanding and even though he doesn't know anything about regression he's eager to learn

- Peter is pretty laid back about it as well. He likens it to acting like Mayday and makes it clear that if Miles needs to be looked after and Hobie isn't available, that Peter is more than willing to help for an afternoon

- Gwen takes the longest to fully wrap her head around it. Not in a bad way, she's just confused and unsure about boundaries and what it'll mean for them as friends

- She does say she's supportive about it and she plans on doing her own research to better help her friend

- Hobie later rewards Miles for being so brave by bringing him a new stuffie that he's been sewing out of scraps of old clothes

- It quickly becomes Miles' favorite stuffie

- Peter brings Miles a new stuffie as well, this one is just a teddy bear in a Spider-Man outfit, and a proper sippy cup with a spill-proof lid

- Gwen isn't sure what to do for Miles so she gets him coloring books and crayons

- Miles gets nervous that he won't be able to hide his gear as well. He loves his gifts but how will he explain the coloring books and toddler sippy cup to his parents if they find out?

- Peter suggests insisting they're for Mayday, at least until Miles is comfortable telling his parents about his regression

- Gwen finally sorts out her emotions and brings Miles a new custom red and black paci with a spider charm and spider web decals as an apology and to show that she's ready to be there for him

- Miles loves it and uses it the next time he regresses, which gets a chuckle out of Hobie

- Hobie is your punk dad in a way, ofc not actual dad but he has the vibes for sure- This man would take you out to so many places and just blare music for funzies

- A very good caregiver actually!! He spoils his littles with a lot of stuff (mostly stolen but it’s the thought that counts, right?) Hobie has definitely stolen stuffed animals for Miles and Pavitr and Gwen even though she doesn’t regress.

- Doesn’t know how to cook, so he definitely orders out a lot or snags stuff from Spidey HQ to feed himself and his littles, Hobie is in the process of learning from Pavitr’s auntie though!! So don’t entirely discount him!!

- Has the patience for autistic or non verbal littles, can listen to cues very well even if they aren’t even that obvious. Miles is getting overstimulated and starts to shrink into himself? Hobie has found an excuse to drag them both away to play games or just relax.

- Loves to play for his littles!! Lets them play his guitar as well- Although he is closely monitoring them to make sure nothing bad happens to the guitar or his baby gets upset with the notes not sounding right.

- Absolute praise and nickname machine! You eat at least one thing? even if it was a snack? “Nice job, rockstar!” you stand up for yourself in a situation? “They deserved it, i’m proud of you bug.” he is such a sweet caregiver despite his tougher outside appearance it’s really really nice!

- During the events of ATSV he was a comfort spot for all the spidey squad, although it was a back and forth situation!! Everyone was everyone’s safe place and it totally drove him into some form of a babysitter headspace.

- “Hate the AM, Hate the PM”- This dude will definitely try to introduce british food to his littles and try to hold back laughter when they groan out of slight disgust but will absolutely praise them for trying it in the first place no matter what.

- Despite me hcing him as a caregiver i do believe he’s somewhat of a flip- having a lean towards being a caregiver though just out of comfort and some distrust towards the people around him. (whoever you think of can work here for sure)

☆ - when Hobie found out you were a regressor he wasn't shocked, his universe isn't exactly the best so it's not a foreign concept to him.

🕸️DIY all his gear or got it in other manners such as charities or gift from friends

🎸Doesn’t really have a cg, but who usually watches over him is Gwen, Miles or Pavitr

🕸️More of a middle regressor, staying between 10-12 but on rare occasions he regresses younger

🎸Mostly does arts and crafts, rough play and listens to his favorites songs, he likes making patches with Gwen, rough housing with Pav and getting to graffiti with Miles

🕸️Gets a bit picky with food when regressed, preferring more crispy food over other types

🎸He is clingy on his own way, he will give random quick hugs or pick you your hand and just hold it until he is satisfied with the affection, the group seams to be pretty used to that by now
