they actually arrived thursday but do you ever do the thing where you're so excited about something you put it off? that's what happened

but i opened them today! they are pieces from @claypigeonpottery! they arrived all safe and sound and i have a shelf spot for them!

i got two kiln gods, both because i felt bad for them due to me projecting emotions onto inanimate objects lmao

the sad kiln god and his broken bowl just touched my heart and he's so pretty the glaze and clay colors are gorgeous

and then the white kiln god was on sale and needed a home because they didn't have one for a while, so i got them as well! they are friends :> i love the glaze patterning on this one and the gold bits

lastly there's a cute little freebie magnet of a bird with a skeleton carved in it!! so gorgeous

go support artists guys, especially this one, they're so insanely talented

also you can see a little of the sad guy's eye and i think that's really adorable

i watched theparrygods patient zero again yesterday, which has such good desolation scenes with the abadoned apartment so it made me think of Nick just. exploring the outlands and other abandoned buildings in hl2….like these massive dwellings that housed entire groups of humans, the feared predator, are now left to decay, sometimes the owner still inside and a bunch of bones. Just echoes of their once massive, monstruos greatness. Now only the smell of blood and war is in there

Dramatic Twenty-eight Constellation Figurines From The Jade Emperor Temple

Twenty-eight Constellations (二十八星宿) provided an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Chinese religious art of the Song and Yuan dynasties. Such images are characterized by amazing expressiveness. Something you can never unsee.)

These samples date back to the Yuan dynasty. The statues are on display in the Jade Emperor Temple (玉皇廟), located in Jincheng (晉城), Shanxi.

The temple itself and the main hall were erected during the Northern Song dynasty. These stunning clay figures appeared a bit later and remained there during all subsequent architectural expansions and transformations.
