Currently thinking about how, of all weapons Centross could’ve been given, he was given a freaking scythe. This guy who was just a casual farmer, who probably once used a scythe to help him with his hobby, was now given this new scythe and told to go use it as a weapon. This tool usually used to harvest crops and various things that he took time to help grow and create, later becoming this weapon to harvest innocent souls

Thinking about C!Centross’ character development and how much he goes through cause like we see him go from this literal farmer dude with a missing horse to finding out that his family were the leaders of a cult, to quickly up-taking that mantel and restarting the cult that they ran. To becoming the goddess of the cults right hand man, her solder, her speaker, her Violet reaper. To him killing thousands for her, and planing for his last act to be a sacrifice killing himself and the entire town to give her information. To her pulling him out of the explosion and him getting a second chance, but loosing contact with his goddess.

To him having to re-team up with a past friends, and current enemy to try and get his goddess back and him learning through that that maybe he doesn’t have to be as bad as he was and starting to try and mend his old relationships. To him going into the End blind in desperation to get back into contact with his goddess and getting trapped there with nothing from her, causing him to commit slaughter once again out of rage. To eventually after months trapped there with nothing but the souls of those he’d killed and a dog given to him by a husked god planning to give up, but being stoped by Rae finally finding him and dragging him back, making sure that he knew that people cared. To him going to the person he believed he had hurt the most and letting them imprison him, letting them hurt him, letting them almost kill him, not because he believed that he deserved it, but because he knew they weren’t okay and wanted them to be. To helping Rae with the sculk. To falling in love. To finally being happy with himself and forgiving himself and then killing someone in self defense and re-angering the souls around him. To finding out they were hired to kill him. To killing the warden to protect his friend, but fearing that that means he killed that friend.

To waking up in a new reset with the guilt eating him alive. To realizing that he doesn’t want to fight anymore. To building an entire town in order to make it up to the souls. To getting the weapon back that he used to kill the souls that follow him. To finding out how his life will end. To desperately trying to change his ending. To becoming reckless with his life while he still has it. To falling in love once again. To adopting a son. To having to relearn his life’s value. To building things for people to remember him by and to ensure that the souls are remembered. To writing letters to the four most important people in his life. To finding the place that he would die while drunk with his best friend. To dying while stoping a god from killing his best friend and taking the gods immortality.

To ascending and having to hide from his lovers and family as it wasn’t safe for them to know he was still around. To being able to see them again. To getting his weapon back. To finally getting to live freely with his family.

Throughout Fable, he goes from the full antagonist in season one, the only person who willingly and intentionally committed those crimes for his own benefit to someone who truly just wants the best for his family and is willing to give himself up to insure that

So like. We're at Kaleidoscope vs Prison duo. And I want you to consider;

Kaleidoscope are pretty and all- they're the fluff. All the pet names and cute cuddly fics and artwork show this. Malitae is cautious but eccentric, neverendingly curious and creative. Midas is scarred and hurting, but does care about the well being of others, which is clear from their last conversation with Icarus. They seem to have messed up in some way with their world.

And then we have prison duo. Prison duo are two people who are wartorn and scarred. There's fluff there, but those two have had WAY more time to develop. I remember people once saying that Wolftross was a cute relationship, and then people countering it with no- those two found each other after years of being worn down with the world, clutching onto each other like they were the final light in the middle of a neverending darkness.

Icarus and Centross, to me, are another type of relationship like this. They've gone from being partners in crime (with a bit of a spiteful yet friendly relationship) to enemies to close friends. They've seen each other cry and fight and beaten and bruised and evil and snarling and shaking from fear. They've been through most things that throw wrenches in relationships. Yet Violet still hovered over Icarus and told them that they weren't alone, even though icarus hadn't done anything to stop his death.

These two CARE. There is something special about being able to turn to the man who taunted you and hurt you and still call him a friend. There's something special about being able to look at the person who locked you in a prison and almost killed you and still stay near them. There is something special, that after all of this, these two were still friends. And they could be more.

I personally do see them as a QPR. The relationship between these two couldn't just stick as a normal one and them still be around each other. I don't think they'd really be romantic, though I can understand the hype.

To me, though I love and adore Kaleidoscope, Prison Duo has much more backing in the sheer amount these two had to go through.

Not a full line by line but I am pointing out specific parts because arararah. This song.

Starting off strong- just his opinion about Ominous bane, and then Icarus’s denial and influenced mind vs his pretty much full clarity about the situation.

“This black sheep on my back has been a sign of what’s to come”

NOW I HAVE THOUGHTS. Mmm.

His cloak- the cloak I think that still represented the cult of Enderian at the time. A sign of what’s to come- even if he doesn’t remember he knows Enderian’s power. He knows what she is capable of and what she does to people. He’s seen it- and then her influencing Easton and Icarus? Then just- Icarus’s actions throughout that being a sign of what they were capable of at their lowest being a sign of what’s to come in future seasons.

“And you’ve been holding out again. This is the last time and yes, this is the end. I should’ve known one day you would betray my trust. I’ll tell you that I never liked you all that much”

An argument probably- between them. Or even more-so the Prison. This is the end- I’ll tell you I never liked you all that much. It’s so prison coded- even if he says “I like you, truly.” atleast Icarus probably things he lied. Me when they never truly talked about it- thoughts and feelings.

“When you find yourself alone, I’ll just say I told you so. You’ve always been and always will be, nothing more than a memory.”

If that was an argument then this is the prison. They’re alone in there- and they “always will be” atleast that’s what they think at the mindset they’re stuck in. “You’ve always been and always will be, nothing more than a memory” well hello line that could have multiple meanings for them! So- one- just, the world forgetting them. Also- season 3 times- and then Icarixus. More-so Icarixus I think. Just- queue foreshadowing.

THAT LINE CHANGE. POINTS. Prison arc. But they don’t know they’re brothers yet. Just. Think about it. “They aren’t your friends, friends don’t do what they’d did. You are alone. YOU ARE ALONE YOU ARE ALONE YOU ARE ALONE” like- it’s that- it’s their conversations with people who tell them maybe you should stay there forever, maybe this *is* all you can be. Yknow? And then the contrast of Rae trying everything to get them out- and then they still resent him at the time for it? Just. Yeah.

Oh Centross me when you lie about how much you care about them. You say you don’t but- points. Eyes. Looks at them.

Hi, yeah I feel like Icarus has a bad habit of biting at their nails whenever a situation is like. Rlly bad. And to try and help them not do it so badly in early s1/s2 Centross would (poorly. Very poorly) paint their nails so they bit at the nail polish and not their nails themself. In s3 after Centross’ ascension, they would try to paint their nails but couldn’t bc of how shaky their hands were until Ven saw them trying to paint their nails and failing, so Ven painted their nails for him. And then Icarus would spend hours looking at how cleanly Ven painted their nails and get slightly upset due to how vastly different they were to how Centross would paint them
