Gosh the just- the emotions behind each of the characters' in the lore of the past two days (10/3-10/4)

Vast, confused and poisoned, plagued by guilt and dread, but still spiting Vee enough to bite back. Shaken and bruised but still wanting to help Armor in the fight. physically trembling because so much is spinning and he can barely comprehend the world around him. Thinking she'll find comfort in Rune's arms before being shot back to Vivianna's cold, cruel touch, her grins and hums and quips haunting his fuzzy memory.

Sylph, fearful and scrambling, being snarky with Vivianna but still trying to keep Vast safe by telling him not to come into the basement. Terrified by the sword held at their throat. then the look in Vast's eyes as he walked towards her. And then shattered as her magic was ripped from her, feathers cascading in their wake as the pain rang in their ears, collapsing on the doorstep of a rival.

Rune, panicked and defensive. worried. Him caring so much for Vast and feeling partially useless because of how he can't help. How he can't fly, how they can't travel fast enough, but just thankful that he somehow got their in time. thankful that after it all, Vast is still alive.

Armor, snarling and angry, defensive and combative- then panicking, the sticky ichor of red blood running down his mouth, the tendons falling from his teeth, their body reacting and trying to rid his mouth of that taste- that feel- that experience. Her panic as Rune and Vast's eyes turn towards her, fleeing far. No stopping, just going, only message a bid for the one they trust so much to take care of the creatures that have practically become their family. The weight of the world feeling like it's crashing onto his back.

And, while we hate her, Vivianna. Chittering grins and laughs, rampant desire and selfishness, giggles of satisfaction at seeing Vast squirm at her touch, her petnames. Bits of anger before it ripens into a rage edged with desperation as she fights Armor- and in those few moments before her death, before Armor's teeth close around her throat... Horror. And horror as her throat is torn out and her blood spilt, and her final breaths spent choking on her own blood like the blood she'd spilled of many others. Hers was at least deserved.

It's so weird that this isn't a concept in English! A latin word that is like the French word Faire is actually Ago (ago, agere, egi, actus)

For example;

"ago equum" -> "I ride the horse"

"ago praedam" -> I carry (or steal) the loot

etc, etc, etc!

So I've been learning French for a while and 'faire' is actually an incredible word. Like what a fucking breakthrough in economy of language.

Faire is a verb that is usually translated into English as "to do/to make," but it covers way more actions than that, which is very confusing for new speakers. because (I have realized) that's not really what faire means.

Faire is actually a word that just gestures vaguely in the direction of the object of the sentence and goes "you know." "Je fais du velo." "Je fais du courses." "Je fais mes valises." I'm biking. I go grocery shopping. I'm packing my bags. You're just sort of pointing at a bike and going "you know, the obvious thing you'd do with it."

English: "You mean RIDE it??"

French: "Sure whatever."

Like idk I just really enjoy the concept of a catch-all verb that you can just slap onto almost anything because who fucking gives a shit, you get the idea. There's a bike. what do you think I'm going to do with it.

SO that lore yesterday, huh? ("≡╔═╻╝═▁" / "Mending" streamed on ggabraxas's, ArtfulRenegade's, and Heyhay13's twitch channels on 11/25/24)

Specifically going to talk about Armor/Atlas and his reactions to everything/the way he acts throughout the stream (also touching back on the end of the last stream-)

When the void monsters attacked in the previous stream- it's like a switch was flipped. His house was burning but that didn't matter- he had to scoop up the lizards and most importantly, the phoenix egg, before diving straight into battle He paused only a moment to stand beside Rune once most if not all of the creatures were gone. Then he stood by when Vast and Rune talked before Rune fled to the testing room.

And he sat with Vast. Almost none of his words were aimed towards himself. He stayed quiet, or he comforted. He didn't even react badly when Vast mentioned the human experimentation him and Rune had been doing.

For almost the entire Mending stream, she is always a step away from Rune and Vast. They stay a bit away, because Rune and Vast need each other- and right now, Atlas doesn't see how much they need him too. The only time that Atlas is closer to Rune than Vast is when he's fixing Rune's arm. And even then, he's so focused on the task that no blush warms his face as the inventor rests his head on Atlas's shoulder. When Vast runs up to Rune to embrace him after they had locked themselves in a room for so long, the first thing Atlas does is look away. Rummage through his pockets, glace around. Eventually he looks back, but to him- while he wants to be here, being around the two when they're all lovey-dovey almost feels like an intrusion. He doesn't belong between them two. Vast is happy. Rune is happy. So he steps away, glances off, fidgets, and waits. Waits until he can do something useful again.

Armor's main focus through these two streams is almost singular: to protect the ones he cares about. He admits this himself when Vast questions if he's okay- he says "Yeah [...] I don't know if 'okay' is the right word, but I will be okay." She's lost her house, but Rune and Vast and the rest of Brightstep are far more her home than that copper building is. He then says that he's more concerned about Rune and Vast right now than himself.

And they go through the stream. Vast and Rune obviously care for Atlas- Vast stuttering through how they could rebuild the house, Rune not wanting to bother Atlas with tending to his arm, etc. Armor (at least from what I remember) never replies when the other two thank him- at least it's never a "you're welcome". sometimes it's a 'yeah', but that's the most. This is what Armor does. This is what she wants to do. She wants to help them. So these actions don't feel worthy of thanking. It's just him helping out. Thats what he does. And as long as Rune, Vast, and the rest of Brightstep are okay, that's far more thanks than he would ever need. Sometimes just seeing the fruit of your work is a better thanks than being highlighted for it ever would. Atlas almost doesn't accept Rune and Vast's offers to give him a room, and refuses to change the room he's given because it's not his. He doesn't need accommodation- he's gotten used to making due with what he's got when it gets cold. He insists that Rune and Vast being alive matters far more than his burnt down house.

Atlas is so focused on helping those two he forgets himself. He insists that if they're going to do Rune's hair, then they need to fix up Vast too. Never does he comment on his own hair, wings, or anything. Although I'm sure the other two got to that in their self care endeavors. He doesn't even mention his birthday until the end, and Rune panics a bit- because Rune cares. But to Armor, it's... another day. One that's been bad in the past. At least today he got to spend it caring for others, being there for the people he loves.

So like. We're at Kaleidoscope vs Prison duo. And I want you to consider;

Kaleidoscope are pretty and all- they're the fluff. All the pet names and cute cuddly fics and artwork show this. Malitae is cautious but eccentric, neverendingly curious and creative. Midas is scarred and hurting, but does care about the well being of others, which is clear from their last conversation with Icarus. They seem to have messed up in some way with their world.

And then we have prison duo. Prison duo are two people who are wartorn and scarred. There's fluff there, but those two have had WAY more time to develop. I remember people once saying that Wolftross was a cute relationship, and then people countering it with no- those two found each other after years of being worn down with the world, clutching onto each other like they were the final light in the middle of a neverending darkness.

Icarus and Centross, to me, are another type of relationship like this. They've gone from being partners in crime (with a bit of a spiteful yet friendly relationship) to enemies to close friends. They've seen each other cry and fight and beaten and bruised and evil and snarling and shaking from fear. They've been through most things that throw wrenches in relationships. Yet Violet still hovered over Icarus and told them that they weren't alone, even though icarus hadn't done anything to stop his death.

These two CARE. There is something special about being able to turn to the man who taunted you and hurt you and still call him a friend. There's something special about being able to look at the person who locked you in a prison and almost killed you and still stay near them. There is something special, that after all of this, these two were still friends. And they could be more.

I personally do see them as a QPR. The relationship between these two couldn't just stick as a normal one and them still be around each other. I don't think they'd really be romantic, though I can understand the hype.

To me, though I love and adore Kaleidoscope, Prison Duo has much more backing in the sheer amount these two had to go through.

Take your pick between the two; Rainbow, fluff based smiles and kisses; or war-torn scars healing with smiles and years of cautiously earned trust?

My little brother is Asian. During the pandemic he had multiple kids tell him to "go back to China". People make jokes about him being super smart- when actually, he's sort of behind in most of his classes (not his fault, just had a late start with learning english). He's a sports guy to the max- may cannot tell you how to do some algebra problems but he can show you and analyze the parts of a football game and knows how to fence and deal with cattle better than I do myself.

anyways I love my little brother and people who are racist suck. Make sure to check your own biases when dealing with folks too!

Something I feel that is important about lore on August 6th, 2024 (Spoiler warning)

So Abraxas's stream title is "Faults of a Father"

While Heyhay's and Art's is "Musings of a Madman"

At a glance, these seem insignificant. However, when you think about the actual things that happened in lore from both parties... it makes sense.

Armor's section is highly focused on his father's journals, and also Armor himself- that being who they are. Armor is who he is today because of his father- but also because of himself. He is Atlas Abernathy. But he cannot be Atlas Abernathy. Because Atlas was a person shaped by his father. Armor is a person shaped by himself.

The faults of Armor's father is why Armor as a name and person has to exist. Because right now, Armor isn't quite at the stage to separate the "Atlas" from the crimes of their father. The armor that is "Armor" is what helps him cope with that. Coping until he can reclaim what feels bloodstained.

However, I don't think Heyhay and Art's title refers to the same madman as Abraxas's

Rune dips down a scary thought path at the end of their streams- thinking about if he himself could be turned into an avian. He's a blood child too... if the avicane were doing it, maybe he could- just so long as he figured out a way to do it without the slaughter of others. It would solve so many problems and variables they've been considering.

And Vast tries to give Rune the Zygote crystal. Which Rune returns upon their revelation of the danger that could pose to the flock.

And Vast goes home and talks with the magpies- apologizing, but also attempting to figure out why she was so willing to hand the crystal over.

There are two madmen here. There's Rune, with his scientific, inventor brain jumping down dangerous trails. Then there's Vast. Mad, but not in an inventor way. Mad with love- and the way he's been taught to show that. Giving and giving and giving until there's nothing they can give anymore.

I think titles are neat :]

Anyone else feel bad for teachers (specifically female teachers) that get made fun of behind their back by students because no reason other than just to make fun of her??

Having your main and most successful form of connection with people be through online really sucks when you want to do like, physical stuff

Especially you get to the point where you can meet them, but you realize you can visit every half a year if that, and 6 months is so long

And then you find it hard to adjust being alone, because your brain now Knows that you Can get this thing, that it's not just some far off imaginary concept that lucky people may have

It really sucks too when you find out you work better with someone, especially with this person you can rarely see

And you get so lonely and touch starved that sometimes the only way you can sleep is if you convince yourself you'll wake up next to someone you love, and you'll conquer the day together, and it'll be okay

And of course you won't, and it only gets worse, and you think about calling old highschool friends who weren't the best people but at least it was Something, you wonder if your standards are too high now

You wonder why you didn't go to college, forgetting the reasons why you couldn't, you wonder why you can't seem to make friends and never have (forgetting that the area you're in has a majority of people who aren't like you and wouldn't understand), you wonder if your whole life will just be spent chasing people around the world and being Just out of reach from real connection

Gonna talk for a moment about how nice it is that the Fable cast interacts with the fandom so much-

It's a bit understandable how many of the huge huge creators (like- dsmp level, certain hermits) aren't able to interact with the fandom for a few reasons (sheer size of the fandom, people crossing boundaries, not wanting to see certain sides of the fandom, etc-) but It's just so special when you actually get to see the creator's reactions so what you've made

because all we're doing is being obsessed with the blorbos that the cast is also very obsessed with themselves- it's like an excited little kindergarten show and tell circle. The cast holds up their little blorbos and go "this is my guy!" and we're all like "that's your guy! they're so cool!" and trade art and stories and headcanons-

Even though it might seem a bit daunting to have some creators so intertwined with the fandom space over here on Tumblr at the very least- it's also really cool! Knowing the creators are seeing how much you love what they've helped create, and knowing that they probably love what you've created for that thing is just such a rewarding little dance.

So for any cast member that reads this, just know though we may seem a bit intimidated by you in our notifs- we're glad you're here to see what we've made with your tragic little guys :]

have you SEEN the warrior cats community? they're out there still making content for the first arc.

PLEASE, and I mean PLEASE continue to make content for a fandom where it's media isn't being aired/produced anymore! We're storytellers! let those stories continue!

I don't wanna @ anyone because I understand how fast things seem to move in today's landscape of streaming shows dropping entire seasons in one day, and networks pumping out new series constantly to try to attract more subscribers with no intent to actually maintain those shows over time but I just saw someone self-deprecatingly lament that they are still thinking about a show that ended almost a year ago, making fan art and playlists for it, and I want to be very clear:

you can still create fanworks when it comes to old media!! PLEASE do!! there are always going to be new fans who will appreciate it, and veteran fans who are dying for new content and new perspectives. also, less than a year is NOTHING. the original Star Trek series was on TV six decades ago and there are still people losing their minds over it, writing stories and reblogging gifsets daily, and that's only one example.

a fandom lasts as long as there are people who love a thing, even if it's only a handful of people. love what you love and write and draw and make gifs and playlists about it!

Oh, Atlas, oh Vast... (Spoilers for "Sense of Touch", BoundSMP lore on 12/7/2024)

So- for one, that's an interesting nightmare! but that's not quite what I want to focus on-

goodness GRACIOUS are these two PINING

Atlas is blushing a good amount of the time. She wants to help Vast, but it feels a bit odd being that close to them. Holding their hand. Keeping her warm.

But he wants to help her. He wants to be near Vast and Rune.

But later on, when Vast mentions her and Rune's nest- even if he does want to be in there..., that's not his place. At least, thats what they think. That pile of pink blankets, now with some loose magpie feathers scattered in it, is not his- it's theirs. The floor-nest was fine. It was built to comfort Vast, eventually coming to comfort Atlas, too. But it has to be cleaned up eventually. So Atlas would lose her only place to spend time with those he loves so dearly.

Vast tells him she could double check with Rune if Atlas was allowed in the actual nest- and Atlas stops.

For one, that's their nest. He may be in love with both of them, but it's still theirs.

Secondly... Atlas mentions himself that nests and being in another persons' feels intimate- and for Atlas, that's not his place. It's especially not his place when every time for the past four or five years he's weaseled his way into places like those just to keep himself warm- ultimately to serve himself (though many he took care of most likely deserved it). He's not going to weasel his way into Rune and Vast's nest- even if she is offering it. No need to overstep the bounds, even if he wants to. Atlas doesn't really say she's happy to be upstairs, but she is content.

And for Atlas, being content is far more than he needs to get by.

So the floor nest stays- because neither Vast nor Atlas is ready to see it go. To lose that place where all were comforted and warmth shared, whether by preening wings, braiding hair, or being close to each other's sides.

That's their comfort. So it will stay. If neither of them will say the emotions lurking in their mind, then it's safer to just enjoy each others' presence quietly.
