Are Giant Tomatoes the Future of Climate-Resilient Crops?
Gigantism, a common domestication trait in many crops, triggers a disproportionate growth in edible parts like stems, leaves or fruits. In a recent study by Mateus Vicente and colleagues, published in Annals of Botany, the researchers at the University of São Paulo in Brazil identified the locus that controls vegetative and reproductive organ size in tomato.  Tomato, scientifically known as…

Centriole Building
The centriole – an organelle vital for the faithful separation into each daughter cell when a cell divides – is composed of an assembly of proteins. Using expansion microscopy, this study correlates the spatial location of 24 of those proteins with structural features of the human centriole, and then models the molecular architecture of the centriole as it assembles (shown here)

"Have you ever thought that light might hold a key to life's mysteries? One hundred years ago, Alexander Gurwitsch dared to propose that living cells emit faint ultraviolet light, invisible to the naked eye, to communicate with and stimulate one another.
It was an idea so ahead of its time that many dismissed it outright. Without a physical theory to back it up, his idea was relegated to the chronicles of history. Yet when I encountered his work, I couldn't help but ask the question: What if the UV effect is quantum mechanical? Armed with modern quantum theory, I began to uncover a new quantum dimension to life itself."
"Faced with this problem, I realized that the ultraviolet radiation he described might be explained using quantum resonance theory. Using resonance concepts from quantum mechanics, I've connected Gurwitsch's observations to a sophisticated framework that explains how faint ultraviolet light can spark significant biological changes.
This explanation, outlined in my new paper published in the Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, not only validates his results but also reshapes our understanding of how quantum systems interact with biological environments.
In my research, Gurwitsch's mitogenetic radiation turns out to be a prime candidate for a quantum resonance effect where specific wavelengths of light trigger responses in living cells."

if sanitized octarians don't have vitals are they able to heal from injury? bc healing requires cell division, which requires oxygen, which requires a blood flow, which requires at least one beating heart
although since sanitized ink is made of other organisms maybe they're able to absorb cells out of it rather than creating their own. that would mean they'd need new sanitized ink every time they get hurt. that could become a problem now that there's (presumably) no more being produced 🤔

even has killed people—though perhaps that depends on your definition of people—and it’s not. how do i put it. it’s never cool, you know? it’s never a moment where this puts them in control of a situation, where they can show off some skill in putting someone down. because even is not, generally, very powerful, and they do not know how to do this.
it just gets messy.
which is one of those terrible reasons why they… well, they don’t like the master, but they have to like that she can do it easy, quick, clean. she can give even the ability to, as well, when she wants. if for no other reason than it means that they won’t have to scrub it raw off their skin later, they appreciate that.
#but if left to their own devices?#what im saying i think is: the doctor 🤝 even: has killed someone with a rock#and of course i say whatever your definition of people is because you’d have to ask if you count daleks as people#i’m honestly not sure if even does. they might have pre-getting launched into a pocket dimension war. they really might have.#very expansive definition of people on account of them not really feeling like they should count as one anyway so therefore if they do. lots#of things must. including the murder trash cans. they’re flesh on the inside aren’t they? they speak they think they hate.#but i think they stop. because it’s better not to. it’s easier. and guiltless too. not like a dalek stops to xonsider your personhood.#but to be very very clear. even has also killed just. guys.#actually i have in my notes here that the tone-setting moment of this whole. arc?#is that it really starts with a jailbreak. predicated on lackluster security for one of the prisoners because they are *just* a human.#and the other is. well. and there’s a war that won’t end that there’s no escape from now to worry about.#but the tone-setting part yeah. is that this really starts with even befriending someone like them through the bars. time lords need#janitors too you know? someone has to clean up around the cells. and they let even out for a minute because of that friendship.#as you can imagine. even is not going back in the cell once they’re out of it. no matter what they promised. and their ‘friend’ is going to#alert someone. and.#you need to understand most of all from this first point. that even doesn’t know that regeneration isn’t A) an inherent trait of gallfrey#rather than a granted one and B) infallible. that’s the cslculation they make. that whatever damage they do won’t matter because they’ll#come back from the dead. ………they do not.#it’s reslly a ‘congratulations! you broke free of the narrative constraints (and safeties) of standing near the doctor! murder is now#unlocked! good luck!’ moment akdhfkshdkfj#anyway. <3 makes their life worse on purpose <3#dw oc

every so often i think about how i technically am not hyperfixated on a character who's from a "completed" series even though her time on the series is complete... because, well, we know she's gonna turn up at least for a cameo in season 5! but then i think to myself: haha... DO I know that? do i REALLY know? like yes they said as much after s3, eric kripke did literally say "maeve loves specifically annie" no i mean the pertinent quote was "the series won't end without us seeing maeve again" or whatever and that's a very specific promise. on the other hand, things change all the time! it's already been over 2 years since he said that. and many things could change. with the needs/priorities of the show, or like, dominique mcelligott could be having such a grand time being a doctor (?) or whatever else Not Acting that she has decided to do and perhaps wouldn't want to come back to reprise this role at all, which would be fine of course, but would mean this lil ol' fictional character i am fond of would not appear again, and that would make me feel slightly sad!
OR, something far worse could happen: there could indeed be a maeve appearance in season 5... that contradicts all of my extremely detailed beliefs about the character. so. hm. maybe a part of me hopes dominique is soooooo happy to have left acting behind

Cell Expansion Market Insights: A Look at Regional Growth and Opportunities
The global cell expansion market was valued at USD 17.75 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.85% from 2023 to 2030. This growth is primarily driven by advancements in automated solutions for cell expansion, the increasing demand for cell therapy products (CTPs), and the development of gene therapies and other biologics. Automation in the cell expansion process plays a crucial role in minimizing manpower and costs, while simultaneously enhancing the reliability and efficiency of production systems, leading to more robust and consistent processes.
As the cell expansion market evolves, technological advancements are not only improving the scalability and cost-effectiveness of production but also helping ensure higher product quality and efficiency. The demand for gene therapies and biologics is growing, especially in the treatment of complex diseases, and this is driving the need for more effective and optimized cell expansion solutions.
For example, in January 2021, Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the Gibco CTS OpTmizer Pro Serum-Free Media platform, a specialized solution aimed at improving the development and expansion of human T lymphocytes for cell therapy developers working with allogeneic workflows. This platform is specifically designed to target donor cell metabolism, making it ideal for developing off-the-shelf, allogeneic cell therapies. By eliminating the need for serum and providing a more controlled environment for cell growth, this serum-free media platform offers a more cost-effective, scalable, and reliable solution for cell therapy manufacturing.
This product is a significant advancement in addressing the manufacturing challenges faced by developers of allogeneic therapies, where donor variability and the need for scalable production are key concerns. The introduction of such innovations by industry leaders helps to ensure that companies are better equipped to meet the increasing demand for cell-based therapies and biologics globally.

My dissertation (which is due tomorrow afternoon) needs to be 5,000 words (well written and coherent, not just any words) and it’s a subject I care about and picked myself (Arthurian Art in Wales) which makes it frustratingly MORE difficult to write about (I don’t want to fuck it up or be factually wrong about anything), and I’m currently very behind on the word count (just over 3,200 words, with 18 hours to go) and I’ve been CONSISTENTLY working on it (I did not leave it to the last minute) for months and yet. And Yet. The ONLY thing occupying my mind is not, say, academic success, but which Merlin characters fit with which The Amazing Devil songs. I am going to combust

So that idea you had with 70s Logan being selfish while eating you out... could we get an expansion?
*cracks knuckles* let’s get into it
Logan loves pussy, short and sweet. His problem is that he loves it a little too much.
It makes for a great time with whatever lucky lady he’s got in his bed (or the couch. Or the kitchen.) but it also means that it’s going to be quite a while before he tires himself, if that even happens. Where his younger self differs is that he’s firmly rooted in his “I don’t need meaningful relationships” attitude so if he’s bringing someone to bed, it’s for one thing and one thing only.
He’s got an urge to satisfy, and you just so happened to be the nearest thing around.
That isn’t to say he’s a total asshole; he tells you up front not to expect anything more than what he’s offering, and if you don’t take his advice? That’s all on you. His deal is a simple one, take it or leave it.
Now, assuming you accept, you’ll be happy to know that he can talk the talk and walk the walk—that is to say, he’ll have your legs shaking within the first five minutes guaranteed. Something about his enthusiasm is half the show, the other half is how adamant he is about keeping his lips glued to your pussy.
Over and over again you cum—your weeping cunt crying out against his fingers, his smug grin as you beg him for a break—only to be met with the sounds of his tongue flicking at your clit. Your hands tug at his hair, begging him to stop, trying your damndest to wiggle free from his iron hold but he doesn’t budge in the slightest. If anything at all your movement just annoys him further, and in turn, makes him take out his anger on your sensitive cunt.
“Stop fucking movin’” he muffles against your sex, but it’s easier said than done. Even when you slap against his arms he doesn’t flinch, instead opting to glare at you from below while his fingers scissor you open.
“Stop being fuckin’ difficult—“ he starts, growling out when tears start streaming down your face. It’s immediately met with a slap to your puffy cunt, the shock of it sending you reeling forward.“Don’t whine, you asked for this.”
You want to argue, tell him you asked for a one night stand and not a torture session—unfortunately for you, your brain cells leak from your ears every time his beard scratches between your thighs.
And then, somewhere between the long-drawn out agony of your nerves being lit on fire is the smallest ember of pleasure. An echo, and then a roar, a spark that turns into a roaring fire and then something just clicks.
All of a sudden you’re going from stop, Logan, I can’t to yes, more, please between what little semblance of sanity you can muster.
The sudden change in attitude makes him grin. “Told you you’d enjoy yourself.”
