There’s nothing punk about being content with anything less than ideal. Progress should be celebrated, and then moved forward from. “Good for now” isn’t good enough. Make it ideal. Make those in power listen to us. It is possible. It is reachable. So long as we don’t settle.

I’ve never understood much of how the punk community fits their own definition, so I suppose it’s no different watching this syspunk thing play out. It’s not even a term made up by the account making the anti-endo rule. I can see how it looks hypocritical given the defensive stance over plural tags, but it’s not the same situation.
Plurality is supposed to be for all of us. A tag like ‘pluralgang’ excludes only anti-plurals, while a tag like ‘syspunk’ excludes many systems. Why not CDDpunk? But that would require understanding various experiences within CDDs, and we are no good at that. Alterpunk? Even traumagenpunk? None of those imply anti-endo, but they are more medical. I don’t understand how an anti-plural worldview is punk at all, and I can only trace it back to oppressive medicine or refusal to accept different experiences (which we blame on lack of academic texts in medicine).
I’m not convinced this evolution of systempunk is anything but hate. It’s the concept behind pluralpunk, using a phrase uncommon but not unheard of, but hateful. The kind of hateful where we believe a group is hurting us by existing (or pretending to exist, though this opinion is not scientifically supported — a difficult task to prove a negative), that the actions of its members justify eradicating the group.
The cycle ending on hate is never the ideal. It leaves more work for you later, or for those who come after. It costs only discomfort to learn. Your comfort does not come before another’s safety. If we all took on some emotional labor, how little we would have to do in the future. Maybe we’ll never internalize that.

Hey, hey you.
Psst
Come here.
If you've decided to pursue final fusion as your form of recovery, I'm really proud of you. Final fusion is demonized and it can be scary, but you're deciding to do it and that's a huge step towards recovery. I don't see enough final fusion support on this site, so here's a bit.
If you and your system have decided upon final fusion, you are not killing your alters.
If you and your system have decided upon final fusion, you are choosing healing.
Your form of healing is not lesser than functional multiplicity or any other type of healing.
You are making a tough decision, and you are making the one that is right for you, and I am proud of you.

Note
Folks like the sorority are why we need CDDpunk lol. They keep telling us what we are and arent, these "plural" people telling people who are mentally ill in ways they arent how to live and heal and go about things, and im sick and tired of my illness somehow making me "the man". Fuck this, people like the sorority hurt people with CDDs. Endos have a whole association to their plural name, all people with CDD have is us and some papers.

Systems and Dysphoria
I've been thinking a lot about systems and alters and the dysphoria that we experience as members of a body that is not ours. And I want to take a moment to talk about that experience as well as distinguish it from gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia. I also want to validate other alters in systems who experience this because it's not talked about a lot, and I think it should be mentioned.
In order to understand dysphoria, let's start by looking at the word itself. The suffix "-phoria" means "an emotional state," while the root of the word, "dys," means "bad" or "ill." So the word dysphoria quite literally means a bad emotional state. Of course, this can be applied to many different things, and is most often used to reference gender dysphoria, or the bad emotional state that can come from a disconnect between assigned gender and gender identity. Dysmorphia, on the other hand, means a deformity or abnormality in the shape or size of the body--it has to do with physical appearance. In Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), those "deformities" or "abnormalities" are perceived by the person with the condition, while not necessarily being true.
So what does this have to do with alters? Well thank you for asking, let me tell you.
If we're using gender dysphoria as a reference, the gist of it is that there is distress because there is a disconnect between what a trans person perceives their body to be, and the way society would define their body in a gendered way. Alters regularly appear different to the body, and generally, only a few have a significant say in what is done with the body's appearance. In our experience, Kai is the only alter who has a consistent impact on what the body looks like because he is the host. Every now and again one of us will get a turn dyeing the hair, and we have our own clothing, but generally, we're kind of stuck with what Kai has chosen.
For alters in a system, fronting in a body that is so clearly not their own can be incredibly distressing. From hair and eye color to gender to accent, almost everything has the potential to be different. This is a difficult thing to talk about, especially with singlets. The dysphoria that can be experienced by alters has a wide range and a narrow capacity to do anything about it.
So what can you do?
Some systems get themselves wigs, makeup, and clothes that alters will feel like themselves in. Some get binders, gaffs, or packers to aid with gender-related dysphoria. My advice? First and foremost, find a support system (no pun intended). Whether it's a trusted friend or a discord server, find a place where your alters can be themselves and receive validation. Even something as simple as being called by their name can make a world of difference to someone. If you don't have access to wigs or makeup or different clothes, that's okay! Those shits are expensive. Hair chalk or temporary, one-wash hair dye can also be a great way to do something small while still feeling like yourself. Making picrews and other means of creating art of yourself can also help because it externalizes the way that you know yourself to look. Finally, do your best to find ways of communicating with your system. Write each other notes, make shopping lists, let each other know what you may need or what you plan to get. It's hard, but it keeps everyone on the same page and can ease the distress that alters might experience.

We are an undiagnosed system, but are in the process of talking with our new therapist about being a system. We are traumagenic, and we will add to syscourse from time to time, but will always tag it as such. That being said, this is not an endogenic-safe space. You can follow if you want, we don't care, but know beforehand that when we involve ourselves in discourse it will not be pro-endo. We will also be using the #CDDpunk tag to talk about our experiences and to have discussions in general about system-specific things.
Thanks for reading
