VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.

Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)

but zonau tech is fine??? its also ancient tech, even MORE advanced and of unknown origins, but they arent afraid of that?? what??

big part of why im so annoyed about totk is …. you HAD an ancient, still super mysterious, group of people with advanced tech you barely understood!! and then you introduce an even MORE ancient ppl, with MORE advanced tech you rly never heard of before .. also with shrines. . . and mc guffins to hunt down in each region by the same people and also they were here before everything else, both in sky and underground even tho there barely was ever a hint for it

even if you wanted people only to care about your new cool zonau guys, there would have been no harm in just having the stuff lie around broken+overgrown, for new players its just there or even a motivation to go get botw too (money???), and old players would still be happy with it?? i just dont get it

calling totk a direct sequel really just feels like its doing itself a disservice bc if you just wanted to reuse the map and models but not build on anything the first title established then do it and call it an alternate universe or something :(

dipper is a weirdly special kind of character to me because I was that type of kid, the one who wanted to grow up too fast and got irritated at their sibling not taking things too seriously and never wanting to seem childlike. i connected heavily with him, and honestly the entire arc of Gravity Falls being in part about him learning to just be a kid really helped me in the long run. it was a great wake up call seeing a character so similar to me at that age learn to finally stop trying to be an adult before i was ready.
