To continue the thought of Cay being kind of like a Deoxys and what the logical implications of that are, I do think that means that, hypothetically, Cay would be able to alter Valen’s body a la Deoxys’ form change thing. Grow tentacles and shit if he really wanted to. Even grow whatever appendage would be needed to fire attacks in a more Pokemon-like sense.

However, I did say Cipher had safeguards in place so to some degree, Valen’s body wasn’t really “changed” in an extreme sense when he got a weird space alien virus shoved into his eye. He’s still human, as Cay really did assimilate with him vs changing them into being technically a new creature that just looks human. As such, Cay can’t inherently change their form. It’s something that would be possible in theory, but to do this, he would have to permanently change their body to make this happen. Alter Valen’s DNA to make shapeshifting possible. Whatever Cipher does has locked this from happening at least initially, but down the line if Cay really wanted to, it would probably be possible to find a way to do this.

However, Cay’s whole deal is he wants to protect Valen. Both physically and emotionally and this would include not permanently fucking up Valen’s body. To form change him would be a step towards essentially “taking over” his host body. Can’t alter his DNA and then go back and unalter it with no lasting effects. Like way down the line once everyone is more open to discussing the full implications of everything, they probably have a conversation that goes like “how mad would you be if I made us sprout tentacles if it was a life a death situation. Keep in mind if it’s life or death I’m going to do it regardless. But curious how mad you would be” as like kind of a joke (but still very much not a joke) and Valen just sighs about it. More nonsense he doesn’t really want to think about too deeply but has to now that it’s been brought up. Wouldn’t like it but if it really was life or death…

lmao. well, academically i’m a very self driven person. i had all A’s, a 4.0, deans list, presidents list. if you don’t have the discipline to do the things you need to do, your grades are going to reflect that.

stay on top of your assignments and what needs to be done. make sure that you’re giving yourself enough time to complete what you need to do so you’re not feeling rushed or overwhelmed. PLAN it out if you have multiple things due.

if you need help ask for it, if you don’t understand something reach out to someone who can help you. if you have a question, ask it because you don’t want to risk getting something wrong from lack of understanding. make sure you fully understand your assignments.

do whatever is required whether it’s readings or research. make sure you’re taking the steps that you need to to understand the materials.

maybe a hot take but I am so very tired of seeing ppl, especially ppl who have been roleplaying for a long time, encouraging newer roleplayers, especially roleplayers who are minors, to go on platforms like discord to find roleplays. platforms which are notorious for having p3d0philes and gr00mers and other bad ppl on them.

discord roleplay servers are, in my experience, low moderated and created by minors, targeted towards minors, meaning they are a perfect place for these bad ppl to target. what in ur right mind makes you think its a good idea to encourage minors to go on these platforms??

no, not everyone will have a bad experience with roleplaying in public discord servers- I personally have had some wonderful experiences that taught me a lot about roleplay- but many will have bad experiences and end up with trauma that scarring and irriversible.

no it is not your responsibility to keep other people's children safe, but telling minors to go on discord, in public servers, is only a good idea if you are ignorant towards the possible and likely dangers of platforms like discord.
